Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

[attr="class","cc_text"] "Here... we go...! Let's sit down slowly here." [break][break] Leith voice comes out gentle, ushering the poor unfortunate male who they currently had been with assisting with sitting down on the sofa. The meeting of Leith and this poor brown hair man was when Leith had been going home from work the night before. Having accidentally stumbled upon the male all beaten up and scathed completely. If it wasn't for the fact they heard his pained grunts and huffs they would've have completely missed him. Leith had a weak heart and when they saw anything to anyone in some kind of pain or hurt, there was no way they could up and leave them to suffer.[break][break] Leith didn't hesitate to take him back to their place and try to care for the minor cuts, and scraps but ended up learning his leg was in poor condition which was how they ended up taking him to the hospital today. They returned only 30 minutes ago after the male named Yin had to sit through long hours of waiting to be checked to finally getting the cast for his broken leg. Leith frowns out of concern as they moved to retrieve another chair to rest the casted leg on. "Um... hopefully that's comfortable enough for you... if it needs adjusting, let me know..."[break][break] Not every person had as big of a heart like Leith did to let a complete person into their home. One might claim Leith was even out of their mind but their heart ached to think of tossing him out when he could barely move on his own. "How are you feeling? Is there anything I could do for you?" [break][break] @yin
Wincing as he moved, the pain lanced through his body. ”Here?” His teeth were gritted against the pain, his voice a hiss. He had bit off more than he could chew, though it hadn’t been the first time. He ached beyond his pain suppression; though he was able to just barely push it down. It still flashed and sparked at his nerves, reminding him of just how much he had gotten battered. What had not been expected though; was someone to take pity on him.
He had barely been able to restrain his growly nature when brought to the hospital, but he had gone through it for the greater good of his own health. He felt heavier and inconvenienced, it made him uncomfortable in his own skin. ”It’s okay...” He says through sharp, gritted teeth, because of the pain lancing through him. His golden eyes were on the other intently, curious and yet refraining from asking anything.
”It hurts...” His teeth clicked shut after he spoke, though his voice was rough and worried. ”You’re already helping me a lot.” The words probably sounded a little bit hollow, but he truly meant them. Drawing in a deep breath, he settled into a more comfortable position. Closing his intent smoky gold eyes for a moment, he wondered if this was intruding. Would everything work out okay?
[attr="class","cc_text"] Leith can't help but feel jumpy at each of the hisses and sounds of discomfort that left the poor males mouth. The banshee did what they could to minimize such experiences but even then they knew the pain couldn't be fully avoided. Leith accepted this fact and yet they so desperately hoped they could rid Yin from having to go through that regardless. "Only okay? Or okay as in it's good...?" They can't help ask just in case. Making sure everything was in the best possible way for Yin was their main concern right now.[break][break] They turned to begin rummaging through the bag they had received from the pharmacy. Prescribed pain pills to help him relax much more... and Leith was grateful they grabbed the bottle just as Yin made that complaint. Their heart tugged from seeing the male suffer. To think someone was cruel enough to hurt another person to this level! The banshee nods their head immediately as the popped off the cap to the bottle, retrieving a pill before closing it once more. [break][break] "I'll give you some pain killers to help with that, alright?" Leith can't help but let a small smile to tug their lips as they heard the comment that followed. "I may be... but I'm going to continue to help you until you're fully healed, alright?" The banshee moved to hand Yin the pill. "Now... let me get you some water to take that with." They mumble softly as they moved quick, entering the nearby kitchen and receiving a cold water bottle from the fridge they had. [break][break] "Here we go..." The water bottle was held out to the male before them. "I wonder... how hungry are you? Unless you'd just like to relax a little before eating anything..."[break][break] @yin
Wincing as he moved, the pain lanced through his body. This was the worst he’s gotten fucked up in quite a while, though at the very least he had someone to pick him up and out of it. Usually he’d have to bite back the pain and inherent anger at sustaining such an injury, either dragging himself back home or trying to further track down the one who had hurt him in the first place. So being here with someone, rather than left alone ... it was strange but not unwelcome. ”It works. Ah... I don’t wanna move around more.. So this will work.” His voice is low, rough with the fact he was trying to ignore as much pain as he could.
Dusky golden eyes watched as his saviour looked through the bag, knowing what was likely coming. Medications ... Yin had to be careful with those. He knew they were meant to help with pain management, but he also knew how susceptible dragons were to any sort of drug. It made him a little apprehensive, but he didn’t know that he could just refuse. His face changed despite himself, showing clearly his apprehension.
”Okay...” His voice is hesitant, almost reluctant in it’s response. ”You really want to do that?” When the pill was placed in the palm of his hand, Yin’s golden eyes stared down at it. Almost as if it were some old relic, or strange insect he found that had landed on him. This much wouldn’t hurt to take, would it? Yin wasn’t sure .... because he’s never actually taken these kind of medicines before.
”Will this really be okay? I might be sensitive to medicine...”Yin contemplates, before realizing that they had probably accounted for that. Taking the water bottle easily, he takes the cap off and swallows back the medicine. Shaking his head a little at the question, he realizes he isn’t hungry. ”I don’t need anything.” Shifting a little bit so his back was more heavily leaned on, Yin tries to get more comfortable.
[attr="class","cc_text"] The apprehension of the male before him is as clear as day and it makes Leith squirm in place. Their hands moved to hold behind their back, fingers fiddling with one another as they did all they could to think of a solution that might possibly help make things easier for Yin. From the overhearing of exchange of words did Leith manage to learn about him being a dragon. They've hadn't met many dragons prior to this so learning the weakness of medication was a new thing. The blue haired banshee was worried that perhaps Yin believed they were plotting something bad because of the encouragement of taking such pain medication but really... the only thing they had been plotting was figuring out the best route to take to minimize the pain he had been going through.[break][break] "The... the doctors were the one who prescribed... so perhaps they've taken in account your vulnerabilities to it?" They frown softly. "I think you should um take them... I'd feel bad about you having to be in so much pain..." Their hands pulled away from behind them. "If it does make you sensitive... I'll take care of you! I... I know I'm a stranger but maybe, I've proven myself in some way? If I had bad intentions I wouldn't have done any of this..."[break][break] The began to retrieve the plastic bag that had once carried the medication and various other purchases. "For now um... I'll be nearby so if you do end up needing anything just feel free to ask!" Leith knew Yin offered against it but perhaps making a meal in case wouldn't be bad? They began to head into their kitchen which was only nearby to the living area that Yin had been located into. The banshee had avoided dwelling too deeply in how Yin ended up where he was but the thought of how certainly crossed their mind.[break][break] Would it be... overstepping to ask? They set the plastic bag down on the kitchen counter before heading over to the fridge. "Um.... Yin? If you don't mind me asking..." Their hand opened the fridge, analyzing the food they had inside. "What happened to you?" [break][break]
Wincing as he moved, the pain lanced through his body. Despite the fact medical professionals had seen to him, trust was hard to come by where it concerned the dark dragon. From the deep resentment that had only grown and overflowed from his younger years, all his negative feelings had spilled into each other and made him view the world through an aggressive lens. There was very little he could trust or dare to put any sort of faith in, and what he did he protected with unrelenting viciousness.
He’d taken the medicine anyways, despite his misgivings. As much as he didn’t like the possibility of painkillers knocking him flat, he would relent for once and place trust where it was due. “I’d appreciate that...”Yin’s voice drops a little, before his gaze lifts again. He doesn’t feel much effect from them yet, just a subtle heaviness lacing through his body. ”Not many would have been willing to help me...” In most cases, he wouldn’t allow himself to be helped.
A slow fuzziness began to sweep over his senses, more and more of the pain dampening and fading. It wasn’t knocking him out at least, though it was a distractingly unfamiliar situation. Was that a good sign or a bad sign? He relaxed further against the back of the sofa, his breathing calming further.
Yin had been completely prepared to drag himself home somehow, and try to set his own injury with the limited skill he had. Would he still have been helped if he knew the truth? Yin turned his head as a question was asked, though it was one that he hoped wouldn’t be. He debated with himself for a few heart-beats, wondering whether or not to say. Once he decided that it was okay to answer, he wondered how much he should say. ”I got into a fight...though I guess it turned out to be more than I could handle.” It was pretty bad, though it wasn’t the first time he had come out worse for wear.
