Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Xen had come in the early hours of the store opening, carrying a bunch of equipment to a stage and unpacking everything, preparing everything for what was to come. He was honestly excited, this would be his first gig that was solo. He couldn't wait to fill people's hearts with music while making some money that would probably go to buying food and such. His roommates were pigs sometimes.
Humming to himself, he set up everything, including the speakers and the microphone, and began testing the sound system to see if the sound was working. He couldn't help but smirk when he noticed some of the people were looking at his way oddly, as he was using his normal voice right at that moment. He planned on using his girl voice for the most part, until there were a sizeable number of people there. Then he would switch songs into his regular voice. It nearly made him chuckle just thinking about that.
Once that was done, he took his place in front of the microphone and took in a deep breath. It was now or never. "Ah, good morning folks!" he said with his girl voice, "I hope you all are having a wonderful day! Today I'll be giving you a little entertainment while you eat, some good ol' music and all. I hope you will enjoy the songs I have to sing!" He paused to let that sink in. "Oh, and I'm willing to take requests! If anyone has a good song they think I can sing, let me know, heh heh!" Smiling, he took in another deep breath and began to play the music.
He sang his heart out, pouring his feelings into each beat as he played the instruments he set up while singing. It felt good to him, though he wasn't sure if it would end up being awkward or rewarding. Turned out it was rewarding after some people clapped for him after his first song. His smile never faltered. "Glad you enjoy it! Okay, here's my next song." And so it went. The people came and went and his eyes tracked each and every one of them as they chatted. He didn't mind skipping a meal by accident if he played long enough, but maybe he would need a lunch break after some time, he didn't know. All he knew was that he was enjoying what he was doing right now.
Hel, with her bag hanging loosely at her side, entered the coffee shop with her normal stoic expression on her face. She was here because she heard there was a performance to take place. As per requested in various feedback, it seemed patrons of Club Helsing were interested in the club hosting a music event. So, for the purpose of collecting enough information and finding the right network, Hel was travelling Lorette (and all of Newfoundland, really) to find artists who may utilize skills that could make a potential Music Show amazing.
After purchasing a chai latte, the lycanthrope found a chair in the back and sat alone. She was facing where Xen was performing, her blue eyes sparkling with curiosity as the singer's voice changed from a low to high octave. How odd. It most certainly peaked her interest.
After the first song was played, Hel clapped courteously and awaited the next song. At the mention of a song request, Hel began to think of songs her patrons would enjoy. If this singer was all encomposing, the Club Owner would most certainly give them a job in the future.
But Hel would wait. She waited until the singer was done his set before she would approach him with the offer. When he did finish, Hel would flag him down and ask him to join her at her table.
Xen smiled as he got a positive response from his singing. It made him feel proud and he wished the other members of his band were there to play with him. But alas, this was a solo gig, not a band. Oh well, he could tell his friends all about it later, once he was done singing of course. "Thank you very much!" he said, his voice remaining girly. He scanned the crowd for a moment to gauge their reaction before continuing. "For my next song..."
And so it went. He sang his heart out, knowing many of the songs that were requested of him. It was a good thing he listened to everything and learned how to play accordingly. Though he was a bit miffed when one of the customers asked him to sing in a low, growly voice. He was able to pull it off easily, but he had wanted to save the surprise for later. It was a shame, but there was nothing he could do about it. He just kept singing, changing his voice from boy to girl and back depending on the song. He was having a lot of fun.
Then it came time for him to break for a bit. He was putting away the instrument he was holding in his hand when he was approached by a young lady. Apparently she wanted him to come sit with her? He could do that. "Sure, lemme grab something to eat first," he said in his normal voice as he went over to buy something from the cafe. Once he got his coffee and his sandwich and cookies, he hurried over to where Helena was with a smile. "Phew, all that singing was a good workout," he laughed as he plopped down on the seat. He looked at the lycanthrope in a laidback sort of way. "Thank you for inviting me. It's nice to be able to chat with others, no?" He still had that grin on his face as he took a cookie and started to eat it.
