Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
It had been two years since she had last shifted into her human form, the canine wandered towards the beach. The sand under her paws felt soft and somewhat warm because the sun was shining brightly with some clouds threatening to cover it. There were people at the beach but she didn't pay them any mind as she walked along the sand. The breeze blew, the water brushed against her paws, it was freezing but it was still a nice feeling as it would disappear after a few seconds just to return again. She ignored the possible stares in her direction, though it was too difficult to ignore the comments pointed in her direction. It wasn't everyday that a stray was walking the beach shoreline after all, not that she'd care it wasn't any of their business to know that she was really a shifter.
The only problem with being a German Shepherd is that I get fleas and they are so annoying to deal with. She thought to herself, having to stop to scratch her side with the back of her paw before she got up and started walking again. It is so beautiful outside, I'm surprised that no Terrors are in sight but I suppose that is a good thing. There was screaming coming from the distance, she couldn't help but twitch her ears to listen in more before turning her head in that direction. A group of people had been playing volleyball and it had been hit in her direction. The sand under her paws was wet and slippery making it difficult for her to move out of the way. This sucks. She thought to herself as the volley ball had hit her in the head. That hurt..... She whimpered, losing her balance from a sudden headache.
Now laying on her side with the water brushing up against her cold she couldn't help but feel upset and hurt. She was a wet dog and the ball was right next to her. If I go in to hit the ball back they might figure out I'm not really a German Shepherd, but if I don't, they might come over and touch me.... I can't win. She thought to herself slightly frustrated as the headache finally seemed to go away.
Winter was never a set back. Miraculously, it seemed the sun was out long enough for some of the snow to melt and the ocean, of course, remained untouched by Jack Frost's grips. Although it was rather cold.
To enjoy some exercise as she normally did, Hel had gathered a team of her friends to play volleyball at the beach. Most dressed in long johns and underarmour to stay warm, but Hel, as crazy as it seemed, was wearing nothing but black sport shorts and a matching sports bra. Even her feet were bare. Her team complained she was going to get frost bite but she had stubornly brushed it off.
It was the other team's turn to serve. Hel crouched, ready. Her blue eyes watched as the ball was hit but it, sadly, sailed over head. The gathered people watched comically as it did so, watching even as it struck a dog right on its head.
Some of Hel's friends laughed with the absurdity, causing Hel to tsk her disapproval as she ran over to where the ball and dog lay.
Approching, Hel's nostrils immediately flared as she noted, thanks to her keen sense of smell, that this was no ordinary dog. She didn't make any comment, but talked to the pooch like she would any other. "Poor girl. Spike's got a good hit. I think you'll live though."
THe lycanthrope reached out to touch the dog's head gently, seeing if it would react.
Riley could hear those people laughing at her despite the fact she had been hit in the head by a volleyball and later lost her balance, now being socked by the water. At first she hadn't noticed her, but the scent of lycanthrope seemed to be all over Helena that was crouching right next to her. Spike? Oh yeah the name of hitting the ball. She thought to herself before seeing Helena's hand moving to touch her. She growled, the last thing she wanted was to nip Helena but she wasn't one for being touched. Now what? I get hit in the head and I can't even tell them off for having the nerve to laugh at me. Those jerks.... It was just so frustrating, that they would have the nerve to laugh over a dog getting hit, even though she was really a shifter.
If it had been one of my friends, they would pay.... She slowly forced herself on her feet, shaking her fur out because the water was freezing against her pelt. I can let it slid this once, it isn't like they were aiming for me. She thought to herself slightly annoyed, bowing her head to Helena who had come towards her she moved towards the ball to push it back towards her. My head still hurts.... She thought to herself, debating on shifting back to her human form.
Hel let her hand drop when the dog growled. She knew better than to push her luck with an evident warning. When the dog began to shake its pelt, Hel had to raise her arms to shield herself from the cold droplets that went flying through the air. She grunted at that but did not protest. She simply wiped down her arms to squeegie the water off.
Hel remained crouched as the dog pushed the ball over to her. The dark-skinned woman took hold of it and stood, propping it on her hip and looking at the dog expectently.
"If you're okay I'm going to go. Feel free to join us or.. let me know if you're hurting. I can take you to the doctor. Or vet, I guess."
Riley looked over at Helena as she spoke, It isn't everyday I can an invite to join her. She couldn't help but cough when Helena offered to take her to the doctor then changed it to vet. There is now way in hell I'm going to a vet, not when I'm a shifter. She thought to herself still trying to ignore the throbbing pain on the side of her head. If the pain doesn't go away I guess I could see a doctor.... Though she didn't believe Helena would really take her to one if she didn't bother shifting back into her human form first. I'll have to check on my friends later, once I have the energy to shift back into a German Shepherd. She thought to herself before forcing her body to shift back into her human form. It had been two years since she had been back in her human form, though once her form started to show she had gained German Shepherd ears and a tail.
It had been so long she couldn't help but feel surprised at the outfits she was wearing from all those years ago. She had on a red blouse and a black slacks. She could fell something strange and she had reached to touch the top of her head to feel the German Shepherd ears. Ahhhhhhhhh, what is this? She thought to herself, feeling some pain in her back, unaware that she had a tail that was feeling squished. Besides a headache my ears are interesting as is... wait, is that a tail? Her hand touched her back to notice the fluff sticking out from the top of her slack pants. "I think I'm going to be sick..." She mumbled, meaning to say thanks to Helena but had gotten distracted by the fact she had some German Shepherd parts.
Hel watched with her usual stoic expression as the german shepard shifted into a woman. It came to no surprise. Hel smelled it on her: the non-canine part. This woman was obviously a shifter. But, of course, the presence of the ears and tail would give it away even if Hel was not aware.
With the ghostly pale face of the woman's, Hel took a step forward and reached a hand out in case the woman wanted support. Remembering her growling at her, the lycanthrope stopped her outreached hand and dropped it instead. The girl would not want to be touched.
"Hey, it's ok. Just take a few breaths." Hel said in a commanding but compassionate voice. How long had this woman been a dog for? Was she not use to her own tail and ears? Or perhaps she was going to vomit due to a concussion. That thought made her very alarmed.
Riley had noticed Helena reaching out to her but she didn't have time to move away before risk being touched, but Helena had hesitated to touch her. She felt somewhat relieved but at the same time curious on why Helena had chosen to not touch her after all. She listened to Helena suggest taking a few breaths and started breathing slowly. "I have a slight headache but I'll be okay...." She rubbed her forehead, having to get used to the fact that she currently had German Shepherd ears and a tail. "I just didn't shift back all the way is all, it had caught me by surprise." Having to get used to the ears and tail wouldn't be such a big deal, though the tail being squished by her pants gave her slight pain. "It isn't everyday I shift back and still have my German Shepherd ears and tail...." She admitted, debating on lowering her pants so that her tail wouldn't be squished anymore.
"This waist line is squishing my tail...." She grabbed the rim, deciding she wanted to try and lower it some. This is going to feel so weird.... She thought to herself, somewhat embarrassed as she freed her tail from her pants waist, trying to keep it as high along her waist as possible before pulling her shirt down in the front, having it lay over her tail in the back. "Does this look okay? Nobody can see anything extra skin, just my tail right?" She asked, trying to glance over her shoulder to peek but it was difficult.
