Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Aiden had expected to have been signed up to volunteer to do a gig at this event that was being hosted by the city. The young demon, of course, had informed his 'bodyguard' of how late he'd be out; and of course he had gotten into an argument about the time but being the little asshole he was he left anyway. He dressed how he normally would be when he was going to be out singing, making his way down to the venue to get settled in.
Except for the fact that he apparently wasn't going to be singing. Had he filled out the wrong form? That alone irritated Aiden as he scoffed and got into yet another argument that evening, only really being soothed a bit at the mention of the free sweets. Well, he supposed he'd let that slide for now.
Aiden eventually was led over to a table, his eyes scanning over the other couples with a judgemental look on his face. How gross. He sat down where he was supposed to be at and leaned back in his chair, two legs going off the ground as he just let himself sit there like that with his arms crossed. Now, where were his promised sweets? Honestly he probably should have been sorry for the person who would be paired up with him but...he didn't care.
Seszitaz arrived in the building, both excited and terrified for the blind date. He’d never really dated anyone before, which made him terrified of the prospect, but he had always dreamed of having a boyfriend. He had signed up for the blind date on an impulse, never really expecting it to actually happen. But now, it is.
One of the people working the even led Seszitaz to his date. He felt a bit embarrassed for arriving after his date, making him wait. Adrien could see a heart-shaped box of chocolates in Seszitaz’s hand, which he set down as he sat down across from his date. Having decided to restrain himself to his human form for his first impression, he wore a nice dress shirt and dress pants. He gave a shy greeting to his date, with an equally shy wave. “Hey... my name’s Seszitaz. I brought some chocolates—I didn’t know what you would like, so I just bought the store premade.” His voice had a sort of hissing to it—his S’s were oddly long, too. While his reptilian eyes probably sold his identity, this probably sealed the deal for his date. Seszitaz pushed the box of chocolates towards his date. “I hope you like chocolate—are you allergic to nuts? They probably have nuts in them—oh, god, I’m sorry if you have but allergies, I didn’t think of that—“ The naga blushed furiously in embarrassment, tugging his shirt collar throughout his sentence, before scratching his neck. He was a nervous wreck.
Aiden raised a brow slightly as someone approached the table he was at, his eyes scanning over them as he took in his appearance. He definitely looked odd and acted very...meek. An unreadable expression crossed his face as the male introduced himself and just rambled on before setting a box of chocolates down on the table and slid towards him. Well, he supposed he would let this disaster slide.
He merely shook his head a little as he shifted a little, the chains attached to his pants clinking together a little, and reached a hand out to open the box and just popped a chocolate in his mouth. He kept his eyes on his date, before he just gestured for Seszitaz to sit with a hand. "They're fine. Quit rambling about the chocolates and allergies." He spoke up finally, grabbing another chocolate between his fingers and lifting it out of the box.
He supposed he probably should also introduce himself to the reptilian male. He didn't really want to but he supposed he would play nice for now. He did get some chocolate after all. "My name is Aiden since I'm sure you're wondering who I am." He spoke up, soon popping the other chocolate into his mouth as he leaned back in his chair once more, the front two legs having gone back down onto the ground again.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I just—“ Seszitaz started, cutting himself off with a blush. _”I’ve never been on a date before. I’m not really sure what to do, so sorry I’m awkward. I just wanna make sure I don’t kill you with my gift—I’m glad you like it, though.” He gave a small grin, to express his gratitude. He was somewhat oblivious to the fact Adrien didn’t want to be on this date, though what he did catch he hoped was just part of his personality and not genuine distaste for him.
“I’m sorry for talking a lot,” the naga said. “I think you should talk more. Do you want to tell me about yourself?” He leaned in, showing interest to what his date may say. “I’m sorry if I’m being pushy, but I think this is what I’m supposed to ask?” He tugged at his shirt collar. “I mean, if you want, go ahead. I’ll stop talking now.”
Good gods he sure rambled a lot. Aiden just stared at the male as he admitted to not being on a date before and everything else that spewed out of his mouth. He was eventually requested to give more information about himself. Well, if it meant preventing the other from digging himself a grave he might as well reveal some information about himself. He tilted his head to the side slightly before he flicked his gaze down to the box of chocolates briefly only to bring his gaze back up to Seszitaz once more. "I'm an artist and singer. I was supposed to come here for a gig actually but it seems I filled out the wrong form." He spoke up, shrugging a little in a nonchalant manner. Now, he still wasn't happy for that mess up but he was soothed at the moment due to the gift he had been given.
What else could he say to satisfy the other's curiosity? He reached for another piece of chocolate from the box, lifting one up a little. "I have a major sweet tooth I suppose. Anything candy or baked goods and I'll be set." He mentioned before he popped that piece of chocolate into his mouth as if to show how fine he was with the sweets. He scanned his eyes over his...date's face before he turned his attention to one of the servers as they came around with appetizers for the evening and some drinks. Despite being a bad kid so to speak Aiden raised a hand slightly to stop the server from giving him his own just yet. "Soda for me."

". . .but it seems I filled out the wrong form. . ."
Those words echoed in Seszitaz's head like death. It was the entire purpose he had taken the leap and signed up for the date, but now, his date didn't even want it? He felt lightheaded. His eyes watered up, and soon, the tears fell down his cheeks. He didn't even hear about the demon's sweet tooth, the world around his disappearing as he retreated to his mind.
The waiter snapped him back to reality. He looked to them, and back to Aiden. He shook his head, wiping the tears from his eyes. "I'm sorry for bothering you," he said to Aiden, without looking at him, or anyone. He always hated Valentine's Day. Seeing all the couples together, while he sat alone at home. Too scared to make a move on anyone. He didn't know why he expected better from today.
He scooted out of his seat. He felt dizzy. He wanted out. He started walking towards the door.
Aiden blinked once as he stared at the man across from him. Why was he crying? What was his deal? He just stared at him as he eventually seemed to snap back to reality and then apologized for bothering him. "Uh-huh..." He mumbled, glancing towards the server as if they knew what was going on in the first place before he turned his attention over to his not-date as he scooted out of his seat and began walking towards the door. Well, at least he still had chocolates left.
The young man shrugged and turned his attention towards the server again, leaning back in his seat. "I'll take a slice of cake I guess." He ordered as he pulled out his phone to text his bodyguard to inform her that he'd be home much earlier than anticipated. Oh well, it wasn't like he had much empathy towards other people...especially if he didn't really know them. He set his phone down on the table and reached for another piece of chocolate, popping that into his mouth as he just sat there by himself at the table.
Since his date for the night had bailed on him he was just going to eat his slice of cake and head on home. Maybe he'd see about binging out on some junk food when he got home before eventually going to bed.
