Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

The small cuts on Adair's upper arm and shoulder burned as he passed Ezra carefully off to the guards for healing. Citizens were important, the wounded jorogumo being their protector in this horrible situation. Expectations to save the defenceless were placed heavily onto his shoulders, especially considering his previous sins. As Adair passed Ezra to the guards, he was careful to assure there was no jostling. Once safely placed in the guard's arms, the TRS elite hunter turned to leave the training center and assist with the fighting efforts.
[break][break]
Steps were taken down the hallway, however, they were promptly ceased when an abrupt jolt of phantom pain manifested in his head. Immediately, Adair flinched, a hand reaching up to softly touch his head as he listened to a familiar voice. A hasty glance over his shoulder provided the hunter with the information he required. The dark-haired citizen he rescued regained consciousness and struggled from the guard's grip. Frantically, the young hunter guarding the gymnasium crouched down to try and assist Ezra into a sitting position, however, surprised breached the guard's face when the citizen latched onto Adair's ankle.
[break][break]
Serenity flowed around Adair despite the recent events. The jorogumo's cyan eyes locked onto Ezra, unphased by the clingy nature of the individual he saved.
[break][break]
"There are other people who need help, you're in safe hands," Adair murmured.
[break][break]
The indirect answer vaguely hinted at the notion of Adair returning to the battlefield to assist other citizens and his fellow hunters. Protecting others and eliminating Assembly members was his job after all. Carefully, the elite hunter kneeled to pull Ezra back into his arms. Evidently, the dark-haired man desired his comfort while he entered the gymnasium where he would receive healing, thus Adair would provide before returning to the battlefield. Success in picking Ezra up would result in pain manifesting in the hunter's arm, however, he ignored those subtle sensations.
Ezra rolled his eyes at Adair. He knew despite the truth of that sentence that Adair's upper arm and shoulder were injured, all for saving him too. He'd release Adair's ankle when picked up by him. He felt the sudden pain in his own arm, phantom pain. "You must not realize how true that statement is." He mumbled as he remained steady in his grip. "There are other people who need help, you. Yes I am in safe hands, also you." He answered, willing to spell it out for him. Plus it meant Adair wouldn't be able to twist his words around, or at the very least it would be much more difficult to do so. He left the part about knowing vague, he didn't want to risk freaking Adair out by noticing the phantom pains. Besides maybe there was a small chance he already knew because he had felt something too? If not from being attacked earlier, maybe from the current head injury? It could be a question for another time, right now the only thing he found himself curious on besides his well being was why the hell he was wearing so much fabric. Is he hiding from somebody? He thought to himself, finding his eyes so beautiful.
Self-consideration rarely occurred for Adair, injuries not being registered as an issue. People required his assistance and the dutiful elite hunter was determined to provide them with the service they needed. Wounds never mattered, especially because of his debt to the world. Countless lives he claimed from years of working as an assassin for the Black Order, and now his time arrived to save others in a futile attempt to repay his debt. Alas, those lives would never be repaid. Each life was special, and he snuffed out several during his criminal career.
[break][break]
Tinges of pain were evident in Adair's arm and still existed as he pulled Ezra into his arms. The wounds from the attack burned with pain, blood slithering down his skin. The uniform the cyan-eyed mystery man wore had small splotches of darker fabric from dampened patches. Blood was being absorbed into the clothing, making his injuries more obvious from both the rips and the soaked spots. The jorogumo continued to hold the black-haired man tightly, only to be surprised by the considerate words Ezra said a mere few moments later.
[break][break]
The elite hunter paused hearing those words and discovering Ezra's awareness of his injuries. Slowly, Adair glanced at the black-haired man's face, admiring the handsome, sculpted features of his face and striking eyes. Only a few moments later, the jorogumo glanced away, remaining silent as he walked towards the guards.
[break][break]
"I'll... escort him in," Adair murmured. "My ID is in my cloak pocket."
[break][break]
Promptly, the guard moved closer, plucking the identification card from Adair's pocket and glancing over it carefully. Several special markings only visible in light were on the jorogumo's card alongside a variety of complex work. The special card was a well-known piece made solely to protect Adair's identity. It was why he remained thankful to the TRS for assisting him throughout these years. Once satisfied, the guarded returned the ID to Adair's pocket before granting him access to the gymnasium.
[break][break]
Medical personnel crowded the location, some injured while others were steadily working to help the wounded. There was a brief pause as Adair assessed the area until discovering an empty station and heading into that direction. Admittedly, Adair was uncertain if he would stay and take the assistance or return to the battlefield. Nonetheless, the jorogumo appreciated the dark-haired man's consideration for his injuries. It was something he rarely received, his capabilities using making most people believe he can handle himself.
Ezra didn't mind Adair being silent with him, he just hoped he got his point across because he'd be damned if Adair left without tending to his injuries first. He was pleased that Adair had chosen to go in with him instead of trying to leave, waiting patiently despite his head hurting like hell. As soon as they moved towards the gymnasium, he found himself much more at ease, it would be easier to try and encourage Adair to stay put. He melted in Adair's grip as they moved around, once assistance would meet them, he'd cling onto Adair for dear life.
Assisting others was a crucial practice, however, Adair felt an intense necessity to rescue the dark-haired man he found unconscious outside. Every instinct in his body was insisting to assure this individual would be safely taken to a medic to heal his body. Slowly, the jorogumo's eyes surveyed the gymnasium and immediately noticed the frightened faces of citizens alongside the injured TRS agents caught when the Assembly first attacked. The sight made a frown breach Adair's lips, however, he needed to find a medic for Ezra.
[break][break]
The elite hunter pulled Ezra closer as he carefully walked through the gymnasium, cyan eyes eventually finding a young woman waving him over. He navigated through the other people, arriving near the woman. She smiled, a sorrowful sheen in her eyes making it obvious she was attempting to remain positive. Once he arrived, Adair cautiously settled Ezra onto the mat for his comfort. The jorogumo remained near, wishing for the dark-haired man to remain still while the young woman examined Ezra's condition.
[break][break]
Slowly, she removed the spider web bandages before grabbing a cloth to clean Ezra's nasty head wound. Throughout the treatment, Adair never moved something inside tying him down where he currently was. Past events proved the black-haired man would struggle if he left, thus he stayed still to maintain the calmness.
Ezra laid in Adair's arms, clearly at ease despite being in pain at the same time. He was determined as ever to not allow Adair to leave, at the very least not before being treated himself, but it was difficult because his head was hurting and he couldn't help but feel a great desire to close his eyes. He was seat down in front of woman, at first he thought he'd have to cling to Adair but was pleased to see him sitting down, most likely getting the hint if he moved, he'd try and reach out for him. The woman unwrapped the spider web bandages to check his wound, meanwhile he blinked, struggling to stay awake. The woman brought a cloth to his head and he closed his eyes, enduring the process before dozing on accident. He wasn't aware that Adair hadn't moved during his treatment, though he couldn't help but feel upset with himself for dozing when he had wanted to keep watch over him. I need to wake up. He thought to himself, though despite efforts, remained asleep.
Providing comfort felt necessary given the current situation, especially with Ezra’s previous squirming. If Adair’s absence would manifest discomfort and restlessness, then he planned to remain near during the black-haired man’s treatment. Rhythmically, the woman rubbed away the blood and dirt before taking cautious breaks to avoid inflicting too much pain. The steady effort resulted in the wound gradually being cleansed. Each slight infliction of pain from the washing was noticed by Adair as he occasionally used his injured arm to scratch the back of his head.
[break][break]
These faint pains kept Adair's cyan eyes locked onto the mysterious black-haired man. Something connected them, as though as an invisible thread tied them together. Softly, the jorogumo squeezed his hand to provide reassurance through the procedure, however, he failed to notice Ezra's dozing. Cautiously, the medic continued with her duties in cleansing the wound and proceeded onto the following task. Disinfectant and healing potion was slathered onto the nasty head wound before she began bandaging the injury.
[break][break]
Quietly, Adair observed Ezra's treatment with a calm expression and air. After a few moments, the medic gazed at the hunter, eyes lingering on the patch of blood on his sleeve.
[break][break]
"... Do you need help?" She asked quietly.
[break][break]
The elite hunter glanced at the nurse, shaking his head before speaking. "I need special healing... I will wait until everything is over."
[break][break]
A simple explanation was provided for the time being since Adair decided to wait until everything was over. Other people could receive worse injuries than his meagre cuts, thus he silently remained by Ezra's side. Blood dribbled down his arm, finally reaching his fingers. Promptly, the nurse noticed and slowly moved towards him, glancing at the injury. Without hesitation, she plucked a clean cloth from her supplies and pressed it against the gashes, however, she avoided questioning the situation further.
