Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Quietly, Gwen walked through the forest, a curious glance over her shoulder providing a magnificent view of the ravishing Izabella following behind her. The corners of the dark-haired woman's lips curled up into a broad smile upon witnessing the sightly blonde obeying her request. A gleeful skip entered the demon's step as she smoothly walked through the underbrush. Her eyes slowly returned to the path ahead, weaving through the trees and navigating the forest with little issue. Scouting the area around where she camped was a crucial step, thus Gwen became familiar with the area.
[break][break]
Each step would bring them closer to Gwen's small encampment, the black-haired woman leading Izabella down some obscure paths through the forest. There were several fallen logs which required stepping over, knots amidst the grass and tall stalks from overgrowing weeds which reached their hips. Carefully, the demon avoided plants with the ability to manifest rashes or a slew of unfortunate consequences for meddling with those nasty weeds. There were gradual steps through the underbrush, Gwen moving slower than usual to avoid Izabella getting lost.
[break][break]
Hasty glances over her shoulder allowed Gwen to become aware of Izabella's position behind her. If needed, she slowed her pace to allow the blonde to keep up. Silence reigned as the dark-haired demon slithered through the trees, finally managing to take Izabella to a small camp. There was a tiny tent set up between a pair of trees, branches and foliage draped over the canvas to blend it into the area. The area lacked evidence of a fire pit, Gwen knowing the flames could attract unwanted attention from travelers.
[break][break]
There was a tiny cave in the distance where Gwen cooked her meals, although, the location was not well-hidden enough for the female bandit. Thus the black-haired demon decided to sleep in a separate destination to avoid detection.
Izabella had caught Gwen glancing back to her, with a smile on her face. She slowly started blushing because that smile meant Gwen was happy right? Frankly she was happy she was happy and got the chance to remain by her side too. She followed Gwen down the forest, finding herself having to walk closer as she stepped over fallen logs, walking through knots in the grass as well as tall stalks from the weeds. Each time she had to climb over a fallen log, she would have moments of struggling to climb over it like Gwen had done so, having to take a few minutes with assistance just to keep up with Gwen. During her travels she had spent her time on clear paths if she could help it, so she wasn't used to such paths that Gwen took as to ensure their safety was meant. Though it did beg the question on why Gwen went this direction in the first place. Though she refused to allow it to linger in her mind because Gwen had saved her, choosing to accept what ever path Gwen had in store for her.
Once the camp came into sight, she found herself staring at the appearance. There was a tent but no pit fire, it made her curious on how Gwen ate for a living, since some things required being cooked. Well that is unless she happened to have fruit laying around. Though by first glance, she doubted that was the case. She looked back towards Gwen, "No fire pit?" She whispered, curious on the reason behind this. It hadn't crossed hr mind that Gwen was on the run, nor there was another location for the fire pit.

A single glance over the shoulder earned Gwen the opportunity to witness red encompass the beautiful, fair cheeks of the young maiden she rescued. Satisfaction washed over the demon upon viewing the incredible scene, the smile transforming into a pleased smirk. Rarely could she manage to make another woman blush, thus being capable of accomplishing this single action manifested an overwhelming sense of joy to the dark-haired demon's evening. When they arrived at the camp, there was nothing particularly magnificent about these surroundings.
[break][break]
The tent was perched in a bland section of forest, the vegetation being limited to incredible tall weeds and long grass. There was a flat patch of dirt around where Gwen's resting quarters were placed. On the fringes of the perfect dirt circle were signs of the previous burning, the demon hastily using a controlled fire when she initially created her campsite. Otherwise, the grass reached lengths to tickle the ankles of those who passed through. Several trees surrounded them, large bases with tall bodies stretching high into the sky above.
[break][break]
Branches from these trees created a thick canopy, hiding the tent alongside the two girls from anybody flying overhead. Safety was discovered amidst these plants, however, Gwen was always uncertain how long she could remain in a single location. The inquiry about the fire pit resulted in the demon raising a brow. She was clueless that Izabella was merely a tourist and never heard of the infamous bandit known as Gwen La'Varrie, although, perhaps she should have expected that during the introductions.
[break][break]
"Attracts too much attention," Gwen explained in a few simple words. "If you need warmth or food, the fire pit is further from here."
[break][break]
The glow of flames could be viewed from extensive distances, thus the bandit was always wary whenever she entered her camp. Unless she entered stressful situations, fire magic was forbidden from where she would be spending her evening fast asleep; it was the safest possible option. Guards or good samaritans oftentimes used the glow to track down encampments, and because of her rising infamy, Gwen refused to take those types of risks.
Izabella was impressed at how hidden this location appeared to be, making her feel safe. She had asked Gwen a question regarding the fire pit. Gwen's raised eye brow at caught her by surprise, which in turn surprised her in return. "You think I'm not safe still?" She asked, believing that Gwen made the comment regarding her safety and not regarding her history. "I see." She answered, nodding her head. Though she wasn't hungry right at the moment, so she didn't feel a great need in rushing to this other location. With Gwen's cloak on, she wasn't feeling very cold either. She found herself looking around, with one ten and nobody else around. It was clear to her that Gwen must be out here alone. It seemed like a sad history to her, surely it would be lonely without other people around? I don't dare ask her why that might be though. I like being in her company and would like to remain that way until she sends me on my way. She thought to herself, hoping that day would never come. "Are you sure it is alright for me to be here?" She asked, worried that she was bothering Gwen with her presence.

Years had passed since Gwen had initially run away from home, escaping the horrible fate which awaited her should she had remained stubborn and never left her dying mother's side. Shortly afterwards, she was forced into crime solely to allow her to survive, however, it transformed into a permanent lifestyle. Wanted posters were everywhere, her face etched onto them alongside the infamous name Gwen La'Varrie with a wealthy sum for the reward should somebody manage to capture her. Dangers lurked around every corner, the dark-haired woman was hardly capable of trusting anybody, even fellow criminals.
[break][break]
Safety became nonexistent, a single mistake possibly resulting in her downfall and a sombre expression masking horror as they marched down to the guillotine. The thought made Gwen quiver briefly, the woman genuinely fearing death knocking at her door. When Izabella mentioned not being safe, the black-haired woman glanced over to her, pausing as she attempted to formulate a proper explanation. Evidently, this woman was a tourist, making her unaware of Gwen's criminal status and leaving the dark-haired woman to explain.
[break][break]
A soft sigh escaped her lips as her red eyes slowly locked onto her. "You have never heard of me, have you?"
[break][break]
Briefly, the woman paused to allow the attractive blonde to answer the question. A deep breath was taken, Gwen glancing away for a moment, eyes slowly returning to her eyes.
[break][break]
"I am a bandit around here... That is why I need to be careful," Gwen explained slowly.
[break][break]
Gradually, Gwen stepped further into the camp, glancing into her tent, finding nothing suspicious inside. There were the usual blankets meant to keep her warm alongside a bag filled with clothes she stole. The inquiry Izabella mentioned about being around was answered with a small nod. After a few moments, she stepped back, glancing around before heading into the underbrush.
[break][break]
"It is your choice to stay, but if you leave... I won't be here if you come back," Gwen explained.
[break][break]
If Izabella left, there was a possibility she would fetch the guards and lead them to the camp. Thus, should the blonde leave, Gwen planned on evacuating and moving on as needed to avoid capture.
Izabella had thought the reason for Gwen being out here had been based off of her safety, unaware that Gwen was on the run. Gwen had looked back towards her and she looked at her curiously. "Heard of you?" She asked, confused on what Gwen meant by that, seeing as they just met. "No." She answered, about to ask if she should have before listening to Gwen explain her. She was surprised when Gwen mentioned being a bandit, but the truth wouldn't scare her off in remaining by her side, not if she could help it anyway, the last thing she wanted to do was become a burden to her. She watched Gwen checking her tent, clearly checking for any signs of anybody else being here. She further asked if Gwen was sure if she'd be safe around here. It made her feel better when Gwen nodded her head about it being alright if she stayed here.
Of course in the pit of her stomach, she felt lonely when Gwen said how if she were to leave, if she came back she'd no longer be here. With a small breath, she moved towards Gwen, knowing she was busy looking around for any signs of anybody being in her campsite. Suddenly she attempted to wrap her arms around Gwen to pull her into a hug. "Then I won't leave, because parting with you would be worse than leaving in the first place." She whispered, not interested in losing contact with Gwen. She had saved her after all. "I don't care if you were a bandit, or still are. I want to remain by your side." She answered, stepping away after releasing the hug, assuming she managed to get one in the first place.

Evidently, the ravishing blonde was completely unaware of Gwen's criminal affiliation and most wanted status throughout France, as she expected. Everything was explained in those few words, Izabella knew nothing about the horrible string of activities which occurred throughout her years. There was nothing that the demon could do to keep the blonde in her camp and after revealing the truth, Gwen genuinely thought she would leave. A life of running was something few good-natured people truly desired, thus the woman walked to a rope tied around a stake.
[break][break]
Carefully, her fingers untied the knot, slowly lowering a basket filled with mostly bread. Once the basket landed onto the ground, she approached and opened the top. Hastily, she reached in and plucked a half loaf, placing it into his bag. The rope was grabbed with her calloused hands, pulling the rope until the basket was suspended into the air. The rope was tied tight around the stake. Slowly, she entered the grass, turning back once to observe what Izabella would accomplish. She desired an approximate if the woman decided to leave, however, the distance was closed.
[break][break]
An eyebrow raised in surprise when the distance was decreased between them. Abruptly, arms reached out, wrapping around her and resulted in Gwen's eyes going wide. Whispered words escaped Izabella's lips, the bandit's astonishment obvious by a mere glance when she stated she did not care about her criminal affiliation. A soft frown breached the dark-haired woman's countenance because of those words. There were subtle movements when Izabella attempted to pull away, however, Gwen wrapped her arms around the gorgeous woman.
[break][break]
"... I won't be able to offer you everything," she murmured. "It won't be fancy... or safe."
[break][break]
The criminal lifestyle possessed no lavish and Gwen was thoroughly aware of the hardships which would arrive with it. Trapping Izabella in the dangerous world of crime was something the dark-haired woman wished to avoid for her sake.
Izabella watched as Gwen grabbed the rope, lowering a basket for a loaf of bread before raising it back up before tying it back to the stake. When Gwen had moved she had followed, closing the distance, managing to get a hug in when Gwen had looked back towards her. She then proceeded to pull away, blushing when Gwen had wrapped her arms around her in return. "I understand." She whispered, pressing closer once more. I should learn self defense so that I don't become a burden to her. She thought to herself, determined to remain by her side. "I won't become a burden to you, promise." She whispered, not wanting Gwen to think she was coming along just because she had saved her. Oh no, it was because in the short amount of time they spent with each other, she had grown to enjoy Gwen's company and she wasn't willing to give it up. She continued hugging Gwen, enjoying it while it lasted, finding Gwen to be beautiful. Being allowed to spend time with her would prove to be a honor. "I'll even learn self defense." She whispered, unsure of where to start.

The unexpected reaction from Izabella over evacuating the area should she leave left Gwen’s heart fluttering wildly. Tightly, the demon maintained closeness between herself and the attractive blonde. Acceptance was rare after Gwen entered the criminal world, thus she found herself clinging to the mysterious woman. Years passed since the dark-haired woman felt safe around someone and have a companion willing to spend plenty of time with her. Pleasantries were found in the notion of finally having somebody to keep her company; being a bandit created solitude.
[break][break]
An understanding was reached when Izabella mentioned she understood luxuries were impossible to provide in the criminal lifestyle. There were instances where Gwen was forced to abandon camp and move on without any viable methods of travel. She lacked horses, wings, super speed or anything which could be accomplished in a mere second. All the woman could do was scatter teleportation hex circles throughout the country to avoid possibly meeting the executioner's axe. Otherwise, death would be an inevitable consequence of her actions.
[break][break]
The whispered words about avoiding being a burden and learning self-defence were answered with a small nod. Self-defence skills were necessary for survival purposes when somebody constantly lived on the run. Wilderness survival training would be another lesson Gwen knew she would be required to teach; it was the only way to assure this young woman could survive the harsh conditions.
