Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

it seemed like things had gone downhill fast. she was glad she was able to keep busy at work. even though she'd sometimes catch herself constantly checking her phone every free chance she got. she had lost count on the number of messages she had sent him. she knew the number had to be correct. that they messaged each other in the past. though the thought had crossed her mind that maybe he had changed his number or got rid of his phone.
surely he wouldn't go to that extreme? how many days had it been since that night? she sighed as she shoved her phone back into her pocket. she still had an hour left before her shift ended. the last thing she needed was to be reprimanded for being on her phone. that would make her feel even more pathetic.
it wasn't like she hadn't tried to call him either. though she did limit herself to leaving him only one voicemail. she figured she didn't need to be excessive, considering now many texts she had sent him in the past couple of days. maybe she was just wasting her time and his? was it desperation that lead her to the point of trying to search for him? she had no clue to where to start. sure they had gone out a couple of times, but where was he when he wasn't with her? that was the real question.
this was a stupid idea. there was no guarantee that he would be here. why did she let herself go through with this. instead of heading home after her shift, she decided to go out for a drink. not that she needed one, but if she was lucky, which she sincerely doubted. perhaps there could be a slight chance that she'd find decker there? if he wasn't there? well, then that was it. all she wanted was to talk and ask him why he was avoiding her. had she done something wrong? did he finally get tired of her constantly saying no? honestly she wouldn't blame him. she needed answers, closure and then that would be it. she would leave him alone. even as she walked inside, she wanted to leave. yet she continued her way towards the counter, taking an empty seat. now all she had to do was wait.
Decker picked up the glass and chugged the dark liquid. Making a painful face from the burning sensation of the liquor going down his gullet. There was just no way he could face Danika now. Not after the stunt he pulled. He sighed as he asked for another drink. The past couple of days he had engrossed himself in his unworldly job of killing people for other people. Not really caring who he took a job for. Since that night, he has been a wreck. doing his job then coming right to the bar to get drunk and then pass out somewhere in a back alleyway. He was stupid to transform into a wolf that night. It was a full moon after all. And he knows he can't control himself...his blood lust when he is in any form other than his human form. That night he was truly a monster. Letting those men die a painful and agony filled death. Well they did deserve it. But not the way he killed them. Killing them through biting out their wind pipe. So they bled and suffocated to death at the same time. He shivered at the thought.
He got the other drink and took it in his hand and started to drink it. As the t.v up on the wall started a segment on the news about another man killed in his penthouse. He watched it as he smirked about it as he sipped on the drink. The man was an asshole to his workers. And his son was a pretty good man so why not kill the father so his son can take over and actually take care of his people. Plus it puts more good in the world. Even if Decker is the monster doing it. As he heard the door open and turned to glance at the people walking in. Or person. There was no mistake it was Danika. The green hair, the body. It was her. As he turned back to the t.v hoping she wouldn't notice him. Not that it was hard. He only had one pair of clothes he wore. The signature jacket and black jeans. White hair. He was easy to spot in a crowd. As he brought the glass to his lips and drank the rest of the whisky. As he grabbed some cash from his pocket and paid for his drinks. Before getting up from the seat and started to walk to the back exit.
her reason for coming here wasn't to drink. she had ordered nothing more, but a glass of water. she stirred the ice in the glass with the straw. she wasn't sure how long she would have to wait. she glanced around hoping to find him already here, but at that moment she had not spotted him. was she early or maybe too late? honestly for all she knew maybe this wasn't the place he even choose to drink at.
her back was do the door. unless she was turned around she wouldn't be able to see who all came in through the door. even where she was at she really wasn't in a good spot. it wasn't like she was planning on standing guard at the door. would he take off if he saw her standing there? well, honestly that wasn't hard to answer. considering he hadn't responded to any of her messages or calls.
maybe she could ask the bartender? perhaps he was a regular here? well, it wouldn't hurt to ask. though at the moment they all seemed to be busy. maybe she should walk around, check the place out. it was rather big place and she wasn't too familiar with it. she had only stopped in a few times. she sighed softly, this really was stupid wasn't it. maybe it she should just go home. maybe her luck was coming back? at that moment she had turned and caught sight of a familiar pair of ears. without a second thought she was out of her seat and rushing towards them. what if she was wrong. what if it wasn't him? then maybe it was time to let go."decker! wait!"she called out to him. she had to pick up her pace, she was positive it was him.

Decker was about to get to the door when he heard his name be called by someone at the bar. He glanced behind himself to see her. He sighed a bit as he looked at the door and back at her. He kept going towards the back door leading towards the alleyway. There was no way he wanted to talk to her right now. No way. Not after what he did. Or what he is. Just a monster in human skin.
As he got to the door and opened it. He walked outside into the cold air. As his breath could be seen with every exhale. He reached into his back pocket and grabbed the box of cigarettes. He took one out and lit it. As he breathed in then exhaled the smoke. He sighed a bit as he leaned up against the wall outside hoping she wouldn't follow. Or maybe he did so he could see her. And tell her not to follow. Or maybe not. He wanted to be with her. But could she accept him? Being the monster he was.
she had finally caught up, well she could see that it was him. she stopped, afraid that he would run. though it didn't matter as he ended up walking out. she stood there for a few seconds wondering if she should follow? would he be out there or had he taken off already. the only reason she had stopped him that time before was because he was injured.
it clear that there would be nothing to stop him from running this time. she had come this far. if he wasn't there, then that would be the end of it. she started to feel nervous. maybe she should go, but he stopped when she had told him to wait. arguing with herself was not going to help right now. she forced her legs to move forward, towards the door. what was she expecting to see? him standing right there waiting for her, but he was right there. she remained by the door a bit surprised to see still here."you're still here? you're not going to runaway?"she asked softly.
probably not the best line to start with. she had been worrying about why he wasn't answering her messages or calls, but she had never thought out exactly what she wanted to say."would it kill you to answer my messages?"she asks him rhetorically as she moves to stand in front of him."why do you have to make me worry?"she continues."look, if you wanted to end whatever we have a simple it's over would of sufficed."she says with a sigh.

Decker puffed on the cig for a minuet or two before throwing it on the cold dark pavement and stomping it out. He breathed out the last bit of smoke in his lungs as he saw the door fly open and a certain green haired girl was standing in front of him. Not looking so pleased. He looked at her as his tail instantly went between his legs and his ears on the top of his head curled back. Waiting for the lashing of not texting or calling her back, ignoring her pretty much. When he saw her speak and the words not harsh but more sassy than anything. Which what he deserved in all reality. In fact he thought he deserved much more of an angry response than anything else.
As he looked at her. "heh? I don't want to end things. I don't think I do at least." he said as he paused for a bit as he looked away. "I just didn't think you would want to see me after seeing what I am really like." he said with another pause. "A killer." he sighed as he looked at her. His amber eyes almost glowing in the dim light of the night. "After all I can't really control myself on a full moon when I shift into any form. So I thought I would spare you from seeing it and possibly be on the reviving side if I randomly shift one night and try to attack you." he added with a sigh as he leaned against the wall and sat down. "I wouldn't want that to happen to someone I truly care about." he said as he looked at the pavement.
she felt like a complete idiot. that night, it definitively was not her favorite. she had forced herself to not replay it. there was no point. sure it wasn't something she wanted to see, it wasn't something she thought she would witness. she was no stranger to death. she'd seen it countless times when she had been out on the field.
she looked at him the irritated look on her face fading away. staying quiet, cursing herself for her own foolishness. it wasn't like they talked about it. she for one wasn't going to bring it up. had she forgotten the way he looked at her, the way that he tried to leave. yet, she told him to stay. what could she say?"i may be a terrible person for saying this..."she said softly looking down at her feet. she felt horrible, the way those people had died. yet all she could think was that he had been okay. that he was still alive."im glad that you're still here. you did whatever you had to to survive."not that she wished death upon anyone.
it seemed like she wasn't the only one that had something to be afraid of. she watched him sink to the ground. she debated sitting in front of him, but instead choose to sit besides him."im not going to lie and say i wasn't scared. i had no idea what was going on and what i walked, well ran into, but you didn't hurt me. im a tad reckless."she told him with a soft laugh."then i'll stay away from you on full moons."she told him as she reached for his hand."you care about me?"she asked not hiding the small smile appearing on her lips.
how many times had she told herself that she wouldn't get attached to anyone else."i care about you too."yet, she seemed to have forgotten that now."i mean, i wouldn't constantly send messages to just anyone that's ignoring me."she said shaking her head at her lame attempt at a joke.

Decker looked at her as she spoke. Chuckling a bit when she said she was tad reckless. He could tell that when she ran after him when she knew the people after him had guns. And not like pistols. rifles. So if that doesn't say reckless I don't know what else does. Then again he can't say anything because he ran after them first. He is a werewolf with a pretty good healing factor but that didn't excuse his actions. Or his blood lust. Maybe he was angered at the fact that they fired at him with Danika near him?
When she sat down next to him he looked over at her as she grabbed his hand. As he intertwined his fingers with hers. "Of course I care about you. I wouldn't hound you every free second i had if I didn't it." he chuckled to himself As he looked at her when she said she cared about him too. He leaned over and kissed her. As he let her lips go he just smiled a little bit. "Guess I was just saving my self from what I thought you would think of me after that night." he added after the kiss. "But now there's no reason to ignore you if you are fine with me..." he paused. Waiting for her response.
she could of more than likely made a list of all the reckless things she had done. though she figured he would figure that out for himself. she laughed softly at his response. they been constantly together the past couple of days. what was she saying, she hadn't left his side unless she had to go to work. she felt like a kid going through her first crush. though honestly this wasn't just a crush.
the words left her lips so easily and she had meant them. there had been a part of her thinking it would of been harder to admit, though perhaps the thought of losing him helped her push that hesitation away. he kissed her and she leaned closer to him. after a few seconds he pulled away. she smiled softly understanding his reasoning. the gravity of the situation let alone what she thought of him. had she been in his shoes she would of done the same.
this time she kissed him for a few seconds before pulling away."are you really asking me that?"she teased him before laughing softly."i wouldn't be here if i wasn't. i've really missed you."she told him. though she figured she couldn't just leave it at that. she had to prove to him that she was serious.
why of all times was she feeling nervous now. maybe because she wasn't the one always asking. it felt so corny to ask. not that she didn't want to."if you say no i am not asking again, well maybe."she teased him before finally asking him."decker will you be my..."she paused for a second."will you be my official boyfriend?"honestly with the many times she had told him no it wouldn't surprise her if he did the same to her.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧
Decker looked at the black cold pavement as she talked saying about how she wouldn't be here if she didn't. As he just chuckled to himself. It was rare sight for the werewolf to be all gloomy and emotionally vulnerable. This might just be the first time other than when he lost his cool when his family was killed and he was turned. Plus it didn't really serve well that he knew he was immortal. Or so he thought considering he hasn't aged in almost 130 years. Which is probably something he should ask if she is okay with...
When she spoke up again he looked at her. As she asked if he would be her boyfriend. He paused a bit as his hand tightened around hers. "I would love to." he paused a bit unsure if what he was about to say would ruin this whole thing or not. He cleared his throat and looked at her in the eyes. "But you should know something first. I don't age. I have been around this age for more and 130 years." he paused for a second to look away at the ground again. Still so unsure of himself. "Thought I should let you know. Because you will grow old and I wont. And that could be really painful for the both of us." he said as he just kept looking at the ground a bit shamed that he even brought that up in such a sweet moment.
she felt his hand tighten against her own and she squeezed back. she smiled at his words glad he hadn't made her ask more than once, though she was willing to ask as many times as needed. it was only fair. she looked at him curiously, unsure of what else he had to tell her.
she stayed quiet letting the information sink in. hadn't he told her this before, well not exactly how long he'd been around. maybe not. what could she say? she simply nodded as she tried to formulate words."clearly it's not easy to date you."she said with a small laugh. she couldn't help it. it felt to tense right now and as it should be.
when he put it that way it would be painful. she couldn't bear to see him leave right now and when the time came? what then?"thanks for rubbing it in."there she was again trying to lighten up the mood. who knows how long that would be though? right now she didn't want to think of the future. she had been stuck in the past for so long, it was time for her to live in the present."so then we enjoy the time we have now."

Decker looked at her when she said why not enjoy the time right now. He just stared at her a bit shocked. Most of the time he said that to a woman he cared for, they would get upset or just leave. And if they didn't after he told them. They would stay with him for a year and then leave after the reality of it being that he won't age a bit. It was bit surprising that she said that. A small smile crept onto his face after thinking of what she said. This woman just kept surprisingly him every turn. The one night stand which he didn't expect, she didn't think he was a monster. And the fact that she was just all around nice to him which most people are not.
He leaned in again and kissed her. Kissing her for a bit this time. Showing her his answer that he was truly happy to be her boyfriend. As he pulled away. "I think that answers your question." he chuckled a bit as he stood up helping her up as well. As he wrapped an arm around her hip. "Well, since we hashed that. Do you want to celebrate or something or you know go out." he chuckled as he looked at her with his arm still wrapped around her hip.
they deserved to be happy right? even if it wouldn't last forever. though right now she did not want to cloud her mind with such negative thoughts. she couldn't be all optimistic with him and then turn around and start having doubts. no, she would take it one step at a time. maybe it was a reckless way of thinking, but she had told him she was reckless. she smiled at him, he had probably been expecting a different answer, but it's how she felt. it wasn't going to hurt to try. she was just about to say something else when she felt his lips against her own once more. she laughed softly at his response after pulling away. shaking her head softly."actually im not really satisfied with that answer."she teased him while he helped her up.
she had forgotten how cold it had been. though sitting so close to him she felt nothing, but warmth. she moved closer to him once she felt his arm around her."or something, you're cute."she smiled before she spoke once more."technically we are out already."she laughed softly."i could always get you that drink i promised. i don't mind, you decide."she told him with a nod. she really had no idea. she would be happy so long as she was with him.

Decker looked at her as he chucked at her little joke of or something. He didn't mean it like that honestly. It just happen to sound seductive alluring. But it didn't matter as he looked at her. "heeh. I could go for a drink to warm up. It is a bit cold out right now." he admitted with a chuckle. As he started to walk back into the bar with Danika, his arm still wrapped around her waist.
As they got back inside, they went up to the bar and sat down. As he ordered a drink. Whiskey on the rocks. Best drink of all. As it is just a sipping drink, something not meant to be chugged. As he got his drink he took a sip, as his eyes lit up. "aaa so good." he said with a satisfying look. As he glanced over at Danika. "Sorry for everything. I didn't think you cared for me that much considering sometimes it looked like I annoyed you being all nagging and all that." he admitted as he took another sip from the cup.
it had seemed he enjoyed her little joke."you're getting cold. didn't think that was possible."she of course was joking. she had made sure to dress warmly. no matter if the sun had been shining all day, it could still be freezing. she didn't mind the cold, though fall was by far her favorite season. one minute everything would be green and the next the leaves had changed from green to gold, reds and yellows.
she welcomed the warm air. despite being dressed for the cold, her hands felt frozen. she kept her coat on stuffing her hands into her pockets after finding a seat at the bar. he ordered his drink and she stuck with water. she wasn't sure what she wanted to drink. perhaps something sweet. though it really didn't matter.
she played with the ice in her glass. moving the straw around in slow circles. she had asked for lemon this time and she poked the yellow fruit, pushing it further into the ice. she stopped and took a drink. she really hadn't expect this turn of events. she was happy with how things turned out for the most part. she smiled at shook her head at his apology."it's alright, i understand."she told him."i'm not that nice. had you annoyed me do you really think i would of continued to spend time with you?"she asked him rhetorically.
as mean as it would of been, she would of found a way to avoid him. coming up with excuses or saying she had other plans."wait, are you saying i nagged at you too much? how rude, if anything i was worried."she said with a pout."i'll say it as many times as you want. i care about you."she smiled while she told him.
