Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2022
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
With April, an activity check has arrived for members to do! Please post on the AC and tag all your accounts, including WIPs and OOC accounts. Failure to post on this AC will result in your accounts being marked inactive or deleted. Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
Decker's eyes glossed over as he woke up that late morning as he groaned from the sun light shining into the room as he just rolled over. But finally getting out of bed. As he yawned and started to scratch his wolf ears as he walked into the kitchen and grabbed a piece of meat from the fridge and just started to eat the raw slab of meat like it was nothing. As he finished the piece of meat and dressed for the day. With his signature jacket with no undershirt and a black pair of jeans and black boots. As he walked out the door locking it.
Decker had gone back to the underground world a day prior to get a contract to earn a little more doe as the TRS weren't exactly doing the job of giving him any jobs lately. But his usual mob bosses and crooked lawyers weren't there or didn't have anyone they needed to take of. Which was a bit of a disappointment. So he needed to find someone to take a job from. As someone a couple days ago did drop a note at his door asking for his set of skills. He had cared getting caught up with this person though because he has heard stories that he was a pretty big asshole. And Decker usually has a rule for working with mob bosses. If they treat their family like family then he would work for them as they wouldn't usually try to kill any loose ends. But this guy seemed to be an asshole drunk on his own power. But he needed a job none the less.
So Decker went and talked to the man. Their talk was long but to the point. Asking how much he would make this contract and who is target was. Where would he be and all that. Decker usually didn't like take a contract to kill someone within the family. But if he wanted it, he would get it. As Decker reluctantly accepted the contract to kill this mob bosses youngest son who was failure to the family.
Decker walked out his apartment and towards a hotel that the youngest son was currently staying out. From what the fat mob boss said about his son is that he usually just spends all their money and doesn't care what he does, or who he hurts. Decker could see why he wanted his son to be killed. But why wouldn't the lazy fuck take care of internal affairs between the family like every other mob does. As he just shrugged at the fact this mob boss didn't like to get his hands dirty what so ever. So Decker did his usual daily routines. Go to the bar around noon to have a couple drinks and see if his informant from TRS had any news or anything. But he didn't show up either. Man today was going to be a drag. As he just then slept around all day basking in the sun waiting until night fall.
As the moon had finally rises and blue skies faded into the dots of light illuminating the black sky, he got up from his perch to look over the city as his eyes glowed amber. It was one night away from a full moon so his strength and speed were almost to their fullest. As he got off his perch from the building and started to head to the hotel.
Once reaching the hotel, he looked up at the enormous building to the top floor, or the pent house. As he entered the hotel and got into the elevator and inserted the key the mob boss gave him from the pent house room. As the elevator started to lift and make it's way up to the pent house. Decker felt a rush of blood lust flow through his body. As his finger nails started to grow a bit longer. Having full control over his forms meant that he could change only part of his body. But he has only been able to change his claws that's was about it. He hasn't practiced enough to change only his arms or legs yet. But his nails into his claws would be enough as his speed and strength was already more than most. As the elevator stopped and the doors opened to a small hallway to the door. As he walked to the door and kicked it up as it flew off it's hinges and tumbled into the room. As he looked into the room with about 7 people in it and the aftermaths of a party. Looks like Decker slept a little too long and missed the party as it was around 2 or 3 in the morning. As he walked into the room to see the scared shitless son of the mob the boss.
As he walked closer one of the guys took something to try and hit the lycan. But Decker stopped it with his hand and slit the mans throat tearing a chunk out of the man's neck. As he continued to walk towards the poor kid who only seemed to be 23. As walked closer he killed the others as they went to escape but they were unlucky to be with idiot son this night. As Decker reached out with his claws and sunk them into the son's neck. As the son started to gurgle up blood and tried to shove Decker back. But was to no avail as the lycan watched the son die slow. As he just stared at him with his glowing amber eyes. As the son died, Decker cleaned off his hands with a towel from the bathroom he went to grab as the son bled out. every assassin or contract killer had their own little sign that they did it. Decker's obviously was every single person's throat was missing.
Phoenix had been receiving contracts left and right for the past few days, sorting them between his members so that the tasks could get done. Of course when he would leave the task out for them to do, it was normally at their hideout and he always wore a hex as to avoid being detected out in public. There was one that made his stomach unsettled but since it was still a contract he put it in his own pile to handle personality. It was very rare that he would give out contracts to his members if he felt uneasy about them, but it would sometimes happen and the order always was to kill off the client who gave it. He wanted to find out for himself who this client was and if they were worth his time or not, so he had left, wearing a hex and cloak to go meet the guy to find out more about the contract that had been given to him. To the client, he was just known as a normal assassin, only those in his group would be aware that he was the boss. He met with the client, he seemed to act somewhat fishy. Only giving him details about how he wanted this assassin killed because he feared somebody would send an assassin out to kill him and well he was well aware of White Fang taking contracts.
I'm an assassin too, are you not fearful that somebody will send me out to kill you? He thought to himself, somewhat annoyed, appearing to listen to the guy. "It will be done." If he had bothered to find out more about why White Fang might have reason to go kill this guy, he would have ended his life here and there. He would exit and head back towards his hideout to do some more research on White Fang's location so that he could observant him up close. The day finally arrived that he decided that he was going to kill White Fang, having figured out where White Fang was headed. He dressed in his cloak, creating a hex for himself and headed towards the hotel that White Fang was scheduled to be at night. He made his way to a hotel, waiting in the shadows for the perfect moment to strike. As the file had mentioned, White Fang killed for contracts, he was well aware of that, though when he had finished killing the third person in the room, he couldn't help but think to himself how it was such a shame he was contracted to kill this guy because it would be so much more beneficial to work together instead.
Once White Fang seemed done with his kill, he slowly crept out of his hiding spot. He held a silver dagger in his hand before slowly advancing towards Decker to try and slash him with it. Upon taking this job he knew it wasn't going to be an easy task, White Fang was after all a lycanthrope, but he was a hellhound, so he wasn't too worried about White Fang trying to escape from him.
Decker finished washing his hands, getting rid of all the blood that was soaked on them from killing seven people. It wasn't unusual for his targets to be surrounded by men or women. It was just a shame that they also had to die so no one could say anything to the police. As he finished cleaning he stood back over the bodies and threw the blood soaked towel on the son. It was a sad thing this kid had to do die. So young he thought as he looked around once more trying to see if anyone else was here that needed to be killed.
As he turned back to the bodies and looked out to the horizon of the city with all the building lit up. His nose started to flair and send signals that there was silver in here. As a Lycan he knew that was a red flag. Then his ears twitched back an forth as he heard steps. As Decker side stepped the blade that had been swung in his direction. As turned to see a robed figure with the shiny blade reflecting the small amount of light in the room. He just whistled as it was a close call. Thanking his Lycan heightened senses for dodging that bullet. "That was a little too close eh." he said with a chuckle as he looked at the figure. "Now what is pipsqueak doing with a silver dagger and trying to kill innocent me." he said as with a sly smirk on his face.
Phoenix watched as White Fang side stepped his blade, missing the slash that had been intended for him. Hearing the whistle was annoying, he didn't need this guy thinking he was done just because he had been noticed by him. Hearing White Fang's words, a small smirk appeared across his face. "Not close enough." That smirk had turned into a frown when White Fang had the nerve to call him a pipsqueak. Did I forget my hex? No. I know that I created a hex and I don't look fourteen. Therefore, he had a lucky guess. He reminded himself that he had a job to do, getting distraction wasn't an option. "Just a job, nothing personal." He answered, holding the blade in hand he rushed towards White Fang again, attempting to slash him with it. As soon as he figures out my species, he will have an easier time figuring out a counter attack. No, my best option is to keep coming at him with this dagger, for one a weakness and two, once I tire him out, it will be so much easier to kill him off. He thought to himself, purposely failing to prepare for a counter attack.
Decker looked at the figure after dodging the first attack. When he responded with just a job. Classic thing to say if you are an assassin, or contract killer. But Decker wasn't very happy about that. Even if they are killers they should have somewhat of a personality not just a cold blooded killer. Cause what is the fun in it if you can't joke around with your prey before slicing them to bits? None. Being a light hearted killer made for interesting pair in Decker's mind.
As the figure moved to attack him again, Decker just side stepped the man and pushed on his back a little bit to more distance than last time. It was almost as if Decker was dodging a bull, Just side stepping every advance the man made. And almost bowing a little bit to anger the poor man. As Decker walked over to the fridge and popped it open. "You want a cold one?" he paused as he took a couple beers that were left in the fridge. "We might be here awhile." he said as one of his fingernails grew in length. As he placed it under the bottle cap and popped it off.
Phoenix felt a hand push against his back, forcing him to move farther away from his target. He turned around to see White Fang move towards the fridge. "I don't drink on the job." He answered, surprised and annoyed that White Fang wasn't taking his attack seriously. He rolled his eyes when White Fang made his comment about being here for a while. He sighed, moving towards the dead victims, looking them over, stopping in front of one that had caught his eye. He reached down to search the dead body for a wallet, opening it, he got his answer. I'm going to kill him. His fist tightened around the wallet before slipping the wallet back into the dead man's pocket, glancing back towards White Fang. "Your death has been canceled." He moved towards the fridge, "I'll take one after all." He would wait for White Fang to toss one in his direction, not caring to make the effort of walking all the way over there to go get it himself. Just because he found out that his client had set him up, doesn't mean White Fang knew about it and he wasn't about to give him the tip so that he can go kill him first.
Decker wasn't too censored with his attacker as they were pretty feeble attack attempts. I mean if you wanted to kill someone, at least make your intentions not blaring obvious. Like come on, a silver dagger is way too obvious. He can practically dodge any attack with his eyes closed. Now if he had a gun with a silver bullet. Different story. That be a little too hard to dodge. After taking a sip from the cold beer he looked at the figure as he said he didn't drink on the job. Ah so this person wasn't just hiding in the back. Well certainly he wasn't he did have a silver dagger of course. So he was on a job. If he was after the same failure son, and he was already here. Why didn't he just kill them himself. When Decker's mind jumbled through possibilities until he had a pretty good guess. That fucker mob boss is a scumbag. And a pretty big one.
As Decker watched him as he walked over to the dead body of the sun and started to shuffle through his pockets and found his wallet. After looking through it he looked at Decker said his death was canceled. So he was right. But it was odd that this assassins of sorts did have some morals. It was rare for their line of work to have any morals. But he guessed it was a good thing. As Decker took a bear out of the fridge that was still open and tossed him one. "Soooo scary man with a big bad knife. Did that scumbag hire you to kill me?" he asked seeing if he could confirmation on his theory. He did have a big suspicious that this would happen if he took the job. Too bad though, he was kinda itching for a good fight. "So you like me? Working for these mob bosses and all that so they don't have to dirty their hands." he said as he took another sip from the beer looking at the figure.
Phoenix couldn't help but feel somewhat annoyed that White Fang had dodged all of his attacks, though he knew that he was going to be hard to kill based off of speed, he expected him to take the fight seriously and fight back. He liked using his dagger because it was easier to clean up, having to remove a bullet would have been a pain so he chose his method carefully. After he had grabbed the wallet to find out if he had been betrayed or not he requested a drink after all. White Fang tossed him the beer and he caught it, taking a gulp. Phoenix shrugged his shoulders at Decker. "The name is Ace." He was debating on if he was going to admit to the question or not. Perhaps it would be more trouble than it was worth since White Fang had asked him instead of him volunteering the information.
"Yeah." He took another gulp, finding one drink wouldn't kill him before he would head back to go kill his client. "I'm undecided and I don't just take contracts with mob bosses." He wasn't about to admit that White Fang would come in handy in the near future. "Why? Disappointed I canceled your death so quickly?" He asked, turning the question right back at him. Wasn't he assuming that I wouldn't be able to kill him? He is lucky that I'm letting him walk away when I should really kill him for seeing me in the first place. I'm no fool, I know he likely caught my scent. This is going to be a huge pain in the ass to deal with later. He finished the beer and tossed it in the trash.
Decker took a another sip of this shit beer this kid had in the fridge. But it was alcohol and that's all Decker cared about. He looked at the guy as he said his name. "oho, looks like we got a big shot here." he as a chuckle was let out from Decker. It was rare to see a big shot like Ace doing dirty work for some mob bosses. As he ignored his last question. Which means he hit the spot with that question. As also what he said that he didn't take jobs from mob bosses. It was fair, Decker only did their dirty work cause the pay wasn't half bad. He hated most of them except a certain few that treated him like family.
Decker watched the man as he finished his drink and tossed it in the trashed. "I'm not that disappointed. I just wanted to fight someone. But they barely put up one so." he shrugged referring to the dead bodies across the floor. Decker never said his name as what he could assume was right that the mob boss hired Ace to kill him. And Ace being the person he is probably did his studies on him being that he is one of the most famous assassins in recent history. So no point. Plus Decker never cared for his alias in the underworld. People just gave it to him. Decker's nose twitched as the man moved. Despite the dead bodies in the room, Decker could smell his attacker quite clear. It wouldn't be hard to track him when he leaves. "So watcha gunna do now big shot." he said a bit playfully as he smiled at Ace.
Phoenix rolled his eyes when White Fang made the comment to him. "I guess I should have expected that I'd have a few fans out there." He sighed, not caring for the glory, this job gave him a chance to kill. He never made any extra effort in proving to others that he was who he claimed to be. "You killed a kid, they never put up any fight." He answered, shrugging his shoulders. "Poor fool didn't even expect you until it was too late." He answered, "No, the one you want to fight is a much tougher opponent, one that can defend against you once they noticed an unwelcomed guest has come around." He could give contracts but he couldn't promise they'd be as thrilling as a fight back.
Phoenix glanced back towards White Fang. "I'm going to do what I always do White Fang. Kill somebody." If White Fang hadn't gotten the hint that he had been hired to kill him, surely he would get the hint now that he had proven to know his alias. "And of course watch my back, I know you have one hell of a nose." He answered, moving towards the door he opened it before slipping out of the door. "I don't deal with traitors." He was talking about the client that had hired him in the first place. It was about to get messy at the mob bosses place and anybody who stood in his way was going to get cut down.
Decker looked Ace as he talked wondering if he was going to attack again. But it didn't seem so. As his ears relaxed a bit. Thanks to his heightened senses. It was pretty easy to hear an attack coming. So he always was moving his ears back and forth to get more sound penetration to hear when something was coming. As he relaxed he took the final sip of his drink before throwing it in the trash. As Ace walked towards the door and said he was going to kill. Most likely the client by what he said with watching his back. Interesting. As Ace left, Decker walked back towards the fridge and grabbed one last beer. He strolled over to his dead target and took his wallet. He took his card and the cash that was in there. Not much by 200 bucks was enough for how easy the job was. Plus his card would come in handy at the bar later on.
Decker left the apartment after finishing his beer. As soon as he shut the door. His nose started to twitch as he started to sniff around. He finally caught the sent of the assassin sent to kill him. He started to follow it leading out of the apartment building and out onto the streets. His nose kept twitching with every breath he took catching the sent through all the other smells. Thank god for his sense of smell being so good. He walked along the path his nose was taking him. Following it, but looking up every now and again seeing if he was close to Ace. He didn't want to be close to Ace. He was going to let him do the hard job and kill everyone. While he would loot the place. Why not? Easy work. Let someone kill everyone reap the rewards.
Phoenix had slowly walked down the hall, careful to stay in the shadows to avoid being noticed as he carefully avoided being detected by other people. Once he was outside, he walked along the side walk, having a goal in mind. That client was going to die a painful death and anybody else who got in his way would receive the same form of treatment. I should make sure I'm not being followed. He turned down an alley, slowing down as he found a dark section. He would come to a stop, waiting to see if his hunch was correct or not. I'll give it a few minutes. Of course leaving his back facing the possible intruder was risky, it was less likely they would remain hidden if they thought it was possible that he hadn't thought it to be possible that he figured out he was being followed. If it turns out to be nothing, I'll just keep going. He decided to himself, hoping to prove this hunch quickly so that he could head to the client's place without the worry of possible unexpected surprises.
Decker yawned a bit as he kept following the trail Ace left behind with his nose. It was pretty damn easy to track someone if they were a lycan. Their sense of smell is amazing. Like no one could deny that. Decker could follow Ace for a couple days before his nose would become nose blind if he didn't get a fresh sniff from the man. He kept up a good pace as it was, he didn't want to give it away that he was letting Ace do all the hard work. Plus if he did want to catch up, he would just shift into his full wolf form for the speed and tracking abilities of that form. If he wanted to fight Ace he would just shift into the beast form to overpower with strength.
As he got closer he noticed that the sent stopped yards away. Decker hugged the building as he walked closer and closer. Until he snuck up to a dumpster and hid behind it. Only letting his nose see for him. Waiting until the sent picked up from one spot it was staying at. Decker wondered why he had stopped. He wasn't at the mob bosses place yet, like he made it sound that he was going there to kill him. So why was he stopping here. They are both pretty acquainted with the underground. And this was no underground alley with secret places for people to gamble or whatever. It was just a plain alleyway. He pondered for a moment wondering what was going. Decker didn't want to peak out in case he was looking this way and spotted the pretty noticeable white hair. It was hard to hide sometimes with this damn white hair, that's why Decker usually takes the more confrontational route so he doesn't have to hide. But this was a time where he would have to hide. "Come one get moving already." he said very quietly to himself while keeping still trying to now make a sound.
Phoenix remained in his spot for a few more minutes. So far, he hadn't noticed anything. He glanced behind himself to see that nobody was there. But then again, one might be a skilled hider.... He thought to himself, smirking slightly before he started walking again. The sooner he got the mob bosses house, the faster he could kill the client and move on with his life. I'll have to remind myself to keep observant just in case I'm being followed after all. His walking was a slow pace, not really in a rush to get there. After a few minutes he had arrived at the mob bosses house. Seeing as he wasn't expected, the guards thought it was a smart idea to fire at him. His slow pace had turned into a stop and side step as bullets had come towards him. One had grazed his shoulder, cutting through the cloak but he shrugged it off, withdrawing his dagger, he held it in his hand before rushing towards the guard, slashing him in the neck before moving towards the next one.
Of course when your under attack you tend to move, or at least these guards thought to do so. It wouldn't matter however, once he had a target on his list, he wasn't going to let them leave with just a slap on the wrist. Somebody had radioed in about his appearance. It isn't like he can hide from me, I can always find him later. He thought to himself, slowly cutting down the guards, walking into the building to go find his client. After a few minutes he was met for more guards. And to think, shooting them would be much quicker and simpler, however I wouldn't have the pleasure of slicing them up. He thought to himself, rushing through the next group, more gun fires. I'm going to have to create a hex later..... He thought to himself, slightly annoyed at the wounds he had managed to gain so far. Hopefully Yves is ignoring this else he won't be pleased later. He thought to himself, kicking one of the guards so that he'd be forced to drop the gun.
He would then pick it up and fire at the remaining guards. This is taking so long.... He wiped the blade on one of his victims shirts before slipping it back in his cloak. He picked up another gun and made his way down the hall. Two guns would be better than one and knowing them, there would be more up ahead. Rounding another corner he had found the guards and his client. He fired at the guards, watching them fall to the ground before tossing the guns to the ground to withdraw his gun again. "Well that was one hell of a welcome." He answered sarcastically before rushing the mod boss.
Decker watched as Ace started to move finally. The dude was sharp, he had to give him that at least. Not many people can detect his presences as well as he could. It was a bit annoying to say the least. People with sharp instincts always got on Decker's nerves cause it made his jobs a lot harder than usual. Or in this case following. As he followed Ace all the way back to the mob bosses hideout as gun fire was now echoed the surrounding area. Luckily for them, not many cops patrol the area because they know the territory is controlled by mobs.
Decker yawned a bit as he watched Ace cut down all the guards out front. He was sitting on top of a roof now looking down at the action. This was much better than what he was going to do after he finished this job. Better than a movie or t.v. This was quality viewing material. He watched as Ace dispatched all the guards outside and made his way inside. Decker stood up as the wind picked up as he jumped down and landed with a roll to decrease most of the pressure of landing. He walked up the guards and kicked them to make sure they were dead. Ace did a pretty damn good job at that.
He heard some more screams and gun fire as one of the guards must have radioed in just before he died. A bit sloppy but nothing goes according to plan most of the time. Decker walked into the building and found a line bodies leading to the mob boss. As he rounded the corner to see Ace dashing towards the mob boss. Decker ran past Ace and kicked the mob bass through a door saving his life from Ace. "Now now. Dont be too hasty my friend." he said to Ace as he looked at him then walked to the mob boss.
"Hey buddy. How bout I save you from this guy if you transfer all your money to me." he said to the mob boss as the mob moss started to swear at Decker and what not for kicking him through a door. As Decker looked at the mob boss and grabbed him by the throat and raised him off the ground. "Transfer all the money you owe me then more. And I wont crush your throat right now." Decker said as he stared at the mob boss. As the mob boss agreed reluctantly. As Decker put the fat man down as he took out his phone and wired 2 million dollars to Decker. As Decker pulled out his phone to check it and it was right. "Cool thanks." as he picked up the mob boss and threw him at Ace. "He is all yours now." he said as he walked past Ace and raised his hand. "See you next time kido." he said as he started to walk out of the building.
