Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Anise is a small short girl, with a stern look on her face. She has long silver hair that at times just appear white. She has ruby red eyes. She dresses very professionally most of the time in red and white. She has a lot of confidence and it shows. She may only look like a brittle 16-year-old girl and for the most part, she was human however she has never called herself human, sadly not just cause she despises humans. For even though for the most part she was grouped together with humans and looked 16 she was really 200 years old. She hadn't stopped aging just slowed her body down on aging. She considered herself nothing more nothing less than a witch. This was why she hated humans for how they treated so many witches in the history of humans and witches. She had earned herself the highest ranking police officer in the whole city. Today was a normal day for her on duty like almost any other day rarely taking a day off. Today she was patrolling the campsites to make sure there was no reckless behavior harmful to other campers, the camper them self, nature, or the property. As well as on the lookout for any other regulations that were to be followed. Some of which included but limited to trash kind of dumping, littering after camping, living out at campsite without paying, proper food storage of food to keep critters out of tents and to prevent accidents that way.
Life keeps confusing her. Every day, and every time she feels sullen, life only then suddenly wants her to be happy. Life had also given her quite a lot of things she at least got to enjoy the company of; she had a wonderful boyfriend, and a best friend whom she helped tend the library with. Overall, life was being good to her for once. And Kaylie would be lying if she said she never liked the blessings given to her.
[break][break]It was being a hindrance to her other self, though; her more magical side. Kaylie wasn't any ordinary human, and not even Zoraya and Tobias knew about that; as the daughter of the now deceased Hilda and Gregory Silas, two humans capable of magic, she also has quite the magical potential in her. No one knew that the assistant librarian of the Lorsette Public Library was actually a witch with no more parents.
[break][break]Kaylie decided that she would have to practice her powers ever since not touching them anymore, so she decided to go to some place secluded, or at least some place where there weren't many people around to see her do some magic. Calico Forest was a good choice, so she went there on a whim after getting permission from the angel. Of course Zory didn't have much of a choice. Kaylie went wherever she went and no one's going to stop her from doing so.
[break][break]She'd been sitting just beside a tree, reading one of the tomes she had brought along with her for practice. Of course she had to start with illusions. The white-haired woman stood up from where she was and closed her eyes, concentrating on the environment around her, until finally magic has almost warped everything around her. To passersby who might be walking around, they would see that the spot Kaylie is affecting doesn't contain her at all, as if she wasn't there. The trees and grass would be different in color according to their perspective.

”now that's strange,” she said although she didn't see anyone she did see the trees where a different color so was the grass. Anise wondered if she could bless the trees and grass to get them to their normal color. This wasn't notmal she wondered what spell sh should try but then again a spell may not fix it but then again was it a bad thing happening. Anise thought about it she had to be careful what ever she would decide. @kaylie
It felt like hours, sitting on the grass and allowing the magic to affect the environment around her like she had commanded. But it was worth it; Kaylie wanted to practice, and that was her decision in the first place. It will probably hurt her head more than she could think, but practice is practice and one can't simply abandon that responsibility you put up for yourself in the first place.
[break][break]But then, she feels a sudde presence somewhere from around the area where she is sitting on; she opens her eyes and blinks, looking over to where a silver-haired woman looking around as if she was seeing things. Kaylie smirks from where she sits and closes her eyes again; it seems the illusions are still working, and making its way through this poor woman's head.
[break][break]Her headaches suddenly to affect her once more, like what it does so many times if she ever reaches her limits. The young woman hisses in pain, rubbing two fingers against her forehead. To the affected one, the area would have gone back to normal once this happens. Perking her head, she turns to the other woman from the other side with a soft glare, raising her eyebrows.
[break][break]"Right. You seemed to stumble upon me. Must have seen how illusions work, no?"
[attr="class","boxo-notes"]Hope you don't mind Kaylie sticking to the thread <3
"Yes I figured it was an illusion but I'm better at charms or potions myself. So are you a human or do you consider yourself a witch like I do. For many people call me human but I'm nothing like humans that killed my parents for knowing magic. So I hate most if not all humans." She smiled "I'm also the police commissioner here so I was just put on patrol to make sure everything everything was alright. I'm Anise Dupree and I'm actually a lot older than I look 200 to be exact." She smiled an eye patch over one of her eyes as she went back to the plants around casting a small charm to return everything to how it was before. "There all done" she smiled.
The silver-haired woman begins talking, and after that she is asked a question about whether or not she considers herself a witch. Of course she does, but no one really needs to know about it. "Ah... I do consider myself one--" She is stopped from talking more when the other woman keeps on speaking again, more facts about herself, which included her name. Anise... she would have to remember that.
[break][break]Once Anise does stop talking, Kaylie closes her eyes and sighs. "...Well then. Nice to meet you, Anise--" But then, she keeps speaking. There is no space for Kaylie to talk right now. There is so much more information to be processed, but the more information, the better it is, actually. Kaylie could use this information so she could remember what this young woman is and what to do with her. A police commissioner, two-hundred years old... a good thing to recognize more.
[break][break]Anise starts changing the flowers back to normal, and at first Kaylie just stares as pink and blue turns back to light green. She sighs again, and then turns to the other woman with a nonchalant expression on her face. "Again. I do consider myself a witch and not just some ordinary woman, my name is Kaylie, and again, it's nice to meet you, Anise." She repeats herself, reaching out a hand for her to shake. "If you do stop talking continuously, I would've said more."
[attr="class","boxo-notes"]Reply from baby Kaylie~
"Yes I see my apologies about talking to much you see I do not see that many other witches so much. I normally just run into filthy humans. No offense ment if you have friends that are humans but they killed my parents and several of my friends cause they were witches. So I don't really like humans, nor do I like being called human." She then smiled something she normally didn't do on job which made her look even more like a child. She really did hate humans with a passion although a little biest against humans she did know there were some good ones out there, but she was also still parshally stuck in the past. Anise really did look like a child. She was good at charms and spells but better at poitons, and enchanting objects to defend herself with and even a little alchemy. However she wasn't so good at dark magic, nor was she very good at healing magic unless it was potion form which could only do so much. She smiled glad to meet another witch in town. A few campsites over from the one Kaylie as she had said her name was, was all trashed and used like a dump, now she would have to clean it up. "Its nice to meet you too Kaylie" she smiled.
She raises an eyebrow at the silver-haired woman's statements. She could not blame her, however. Humans are awful, that in itself is truth. They make mistakes and fight for their own glory, even among others like they own this Earth. However, some humans are kind. They have compassion, and they don't try to prove to others how strong they actually are. Some of them are compassionate enough to help their own fellow human beings. It's a sad truth of this world. So it's alright to hate them for a legal reason, but for nothing other than hate... it's never alright.
[break][break]Eyebrow still raised, she tilts her head. "If you don't mind me asking... What exactly did humans do to you?"
[break][break]Anise declares it was nice knowing her as well, and she smiles and nods as a counter. "Yes, yes." She never thought people would want to conduct their own patrols in these parts of the forest, after all. But then again, it makes her wonder, and she looks back at Anise with that same questioning expression on her face. "So... what are you going to be doing now, Anise?"
[attr="class","boxo-notes"]Reply from baby Kaylie~
Where did humans do to me well they took my family from me, you see i had a father mother, a little sister, and a big brother. All were taken from me by humans thats why i hate humans. The burned my mother father and sister cause they were witches. They even killed my brother who was the one in the family that was not a witch or wizard. Yet they thought he was like the rest of us and killed him, he was innocent. Then i have also seen what humans have done to sirens and other non human species. So i became police commissioner to protect these species from the dangers that most humans i have met have been so cruel to anything not human but then again i know there are some good humans so i also became police commissioner to protect those ones. But then again i still don't trust all humans.”
After she explained this she smiled as to her this made a lot of sense to her, for her it was logical but at the same time same time the hating humans part yet at the same time wanting to protect the ones she knows are good was maybe more complex to some but to her it was still logical. ”Well i thought i would check on the next campsite over from this one don't know if you noticed but its burned a bunch of human teens that were drunk let their campfire get too out of hand, and some animals were harmed so I was going to go check on them if you would like to come.” She smiled as she walked over seeing a small fox den with rare golden colored foxes lived as well as some black foxes lived. A few of the adult foxes plets were missing fur and some if the pups paws were wrapped. @kaylie
The police commissioner's history is relayed, and much more is known about her with ever word that comes out of her mouth. She finds some elements of the story absolutely similar to her own, but most of it she could not compare to her own past. She was an only child, and therefore had no brother or sister like Anise had; she only had Gregory and Hilda, father and mother. They were not killed out of people's revolts; they were killed by assassins whom she still hadn't known who. It was not enough reason for her to hate her own kind, but she completely understands why Anise would feel that way.
[break][break]Kaylie manages a small nod, her face devoid of any sympathy, but inwardly she is pitying the woman for what she had gone through. "...I see." She mutters, turning to the tomes she had brought with her and picking them one by one from the ground. "I would see much reason as to why you would hate your own kind... but I haven't experienced any of that. It seems both of us are different in ways we can only understand." Even she doesn't seem to understand these ways, but she would let that slip for now.
[break][break]They leave the area and Anise starts directing her to a burnt campsite, and for once her eyes widen slightly as she surveys the surroundings. She is about to ask what happened here, but Anise seems to read minds or she expects that question to be asks, as she had already told her what had previously happened. "Teenagers. They are reckless and we all know that." She shakes her head in disapproval, holding her tomes close to her chest. Recklessness is key to minor destruction, she leads to believe.
[break][break]She sees the golden and black foxes come out of their dens, and her eyes soften with pity for the poor animals. "Oh, you poor things. Look at you," She approaches a golden fox and slowly but surely reaches for it's fur, whereas some of the pelt had been removed and left only a large portion of pink skin, presumably from the fire. "I don't know how to heal or make their fur come back, unfortunately. I'm no expert at it."
