Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

[attr="class","jawntattxtdiv"] Summer was a good season. He was always sure about that.
[break][break]Hector loved to write, especially during the summers. He wanted another random person to pick up another book he had written once again, and he wanted the buzz to be all about him and his true identity once more. To be honest, and he didn't want to brag, but the attention he was getting from the public just because of a book he had written was amusing to him. And that's what he loved about it.
[break][break]The young man strode around the Crow Feather Park in a simple grey t-shirt and jeans. He didn't need any jackets right now; the weather was too hot to even bear to be wearing jackets right now. On his hand was a blank notebook and a ballpen tucked to its spirals. There were lots of people around here, and even if he knew they were a very good target to this novel uproar again, he needed to think of what to write first.
[break][break]But he did already have an idea. He just has to write it down first.
[break][break]Luckily for him, there were a lot of unoccupied benches around the park, so he decided to settle in on the bench just beside a large and tall cut-out bush. Looking around for any sign of presence behind him, he opened the notebook and began to write "Prologue" into it.
[break][break]He just hoped no one would eavesdrop on him while he writes the story.
Riley had slowly started shifting between her human and canine form more often. After having been saved by that nephilim and angel, she never wanted to be mistaken as an animal ever again. Besides, it gave her a chance to slowly get used to the idea that she was still human even if she could shift into a canine from time to time. It also made things somewhat easier when she was tending to one of her fellow pack mates. Since most canine's needed a vet to help them, it would benefit if a human was able to help carry them there and explain the injury instead of trying to expect them to know right off the bat what was wrong.
Being poor came with a price, as did shifting. Her clothes were worn out, of course the last time she got a new fresh pair, it was because she had been forced to steal it from the store, not having any means to support herself. She found herself wandering around the park when she had come upon him. Somebody was sitting down on the beach, writing stuff down, into what she couldn't be completely sure. She found herself leaning against a tree, watching him, waiting to see what he was doing.
What is he doing? She thought to herself, unaware that he was in the middle of writing. After a few minutes of not being able to see what he was doing, she slowly crept forward, failing to pay attention to the rock before tripping into the back of the bench. She yelped on the way down, catching herself on her palms and knees. Ow....

[attr="class","jawntattxtdiv"] "And a family of four, all together in their cozy little house in the woods..."
[break][break]He almost wanted to read this line aloud, as he was starting to like where this story is about to go. Hector chuckled to himself and continued moving his pen through the paper. He knew he should keep acting modest if he didn't want anyone to know his identity. Hector still wanted to keep practicing this activity of keeping his identity in secret. If people were lucky, though, they could just take one look at him and speculate him as 'meredith' if they ever saw the author at the front of the notebook.
[break][break]However, no one approached him and they simply passed by, and he was glad by that. He still hasn't attracted that much attention yet. Or... maybe he did, because after he was about to write once again, a sound from behind the bench he was sitting on grabbed his attention.
[break][break]Eyes wide, he perked his head up and turned behind him, instinctively closing his notebook once he saw a girl hunched over on the grass. It seemed like she stumbled on her step and tripped. The young man sighed and stood up from the bench, walking up to the girl with a smile.
[break][break]Reaching out a hand for her to grab, he bent down and stared at the dark-haired girl. "You seem hurt, miss. Here, let me help you."
Riley couldn't help but stare at the ground, annoyed that she had failed to notice the rock before tripping over it, having had the motive to find out what he was writing only for the sole purpose to satisfy her curiosity. To her disappointment, her tripping hadn't gone unnoticed and the boy that she had been creeping behind had closed his notebook, to her surprise he had walked up to her and held out his hand for her to take it. She looked up to see the smile plastered on his face. I should be ashamed of myself, I was about to read over his shoulder to find out what he was writing when it wasn't any of my business.
She slowly moved her hand to wipe it on the bottom of her t-shirt before reaching out to take his hand. The last thing she wanted was for him to get dirt on his hand, not when he was nice enough to help her to her feet in the first place. She still wasn't used to being helped, prior she would have attempted to bite somebody and flat out refusing assistance, but as of lately, she has had somewhat of an easier time accepting the help when she deemed it was needed, being helped to her feet had been a harmless gesture but getting assistance seemed a bit extreme when it came to something as small as a fall.
"I'll be alright." She answered, forcing a small smile on her face she added, "Thank you." He had after all taken the time to help her back up when she had been creeping up on him in the first place. It would be awkward to ask him what he was doing so.... I'm not going to bother. She had thought to herself, barely noticing the scratches along her palms and knees.

[attr="class","jawntattxtdiv"] Good. Looks like the young woman seemed fine. Her only saying that she was made matters better. With a small smile to this reply, he nodded in acknowledgement. "You're welcome," He simply stated as a response to her gratitude. Hector didn't really expect their outcome to turn out good like this, but Hector was fine with that. At least he got to make another new acquaintance around here.
[break][break]She sneaked around the bench I was sitting on, though... I wonder if she was trying to look at my writing.
[break][break]Alas, Hector couldn't have that. While he was a person who loved the attention that was given to him whenever people saw any signs of his writing, he shouldn't make people see the draft of his work yet. Only will he show his work once it is finally finished. The young man cleared his throat then looked the young woman over. Dark hair, quite the same height he has, and clothes all... ragged and dirty. Was she poor? He then looked at her palms and frowned. Because of the way she tripped she had gotten those scratches.
[break][break]The shifter tilted his head slightly with that same small frown on his face. "You're quite scrapped from your palms. Look at them," He began, pointing to the scratches to prove his point. "I should get you some bandages. Would you like to wait here or do you want to come with me?"
[break][break]Now, he wasn't going to take "I'll be fine, leave me be" as an answer to this question. If Hector was concerned, he is and he would always insist. It was quite evident in the way his worried gaze met with hers. If she does refuse, though, he's going to buy some bandages anyway and just find her wherever she should have left.
[break][break]But she hasn't refused yet, so now's probably the chance.
Riley looked at her palms and closed them when she noticed the scratches, it wasn't anything that she couldn't handle. The man further explained how he should get her bandages. His question got a small smile in return, the last thing she wanted was for him to become worried but she had no intention on accepting help with her scratches. "I'll be fine." She answered, trying to figure out the best way to decline his offer. I don't know if he plans on buying some or not but I won't be sticking around here to receive them.
She closed her eyes, shifting in her canine form. A German Shepherd soon stood before him, of course that meant communication would come to an end since she couldn't talk to him in this form. That should solve that problem quickly. Can't exactly patch up a canine, now could you? Nope. She thought to herself, Besides, now I can avoid the conversation of creeping up behind him in the first place. This is what happens when I let my curiosity get the best of me.

[attr="class","jawntattxtdiv"] It was only a few moments, but the young woman told him that she was fine. Something that Hector didn't believe at that point. "Ah... right. Stay here, okay? It'll only be for a min--" He didn't get to finish his sentence, because the next thing he knew the dark-haired woman disappeared and a German Shepherd took her place on the spot she was standing on.
[break][break]...Wait... so she's a shifter? Like me?
[break][break]Luckily she didn't run away yet, which was quite fortunate. He has to treat her up as soon as possible. "Oh... hey... uh..." How the heck should he make her stop from running away? The young man gestured for her to stay on that ground, though he's pretty sure that would mean she'd just run, anyway. "Just... stay, alright? It'll be quick. Then you can go."
[break][break]This is gonna be the start of a looong dog chase later, that was for sure.
Riley had a feeling that he wasn't going to accept her refusal, it was one of the few reasons why she was more than willing to shift in the first place. She wasn't quite in a rush to leave just yet but when he told her to stay, claiming he'd be quick she shook her head at him. Pain wasn't new to her, her palms and knees being scratched up would heal over time. Besides leaving would mean that she wouldn't have to confess to trying to see what he had been writing in the first place. Now that it seemed he would be less likely to keep up with her, she turned on her heels and bolted away from him.
I think I've been in this area long enough, time to head towards a different one. She thought to herself, glancing behind herself briefly to see if the guy was following behind her before rounding a corner. The best part about being in her German Shepherd form, she would be able to smell him if he managed to keep up with her, she would also be able to smell any other canine that happened to be nearby. It was useful when trying to figure out where everybody was at and if any of them were possibly injured.
