Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Negative opinions were impossible for Kaitlynn when he fixated on Sonya. Perfection was all the brunette’s stunning purple eyes could notice whenever she stared at that marvellous face. Those striking yellow eyes were vibrant against the bluish complexion of her girlfriend’s face. Long locks of dark purple hair flowed down in beautiful, straight tresses. Generally, the familiar possessed a wonderfully exotic appearance that captured the angel’s attention without fail. Everything about her was simply attention-grabbing, Kaitlynn finding the feeling spectacular, oftentimes, using it as an excuse to maintain a lingering stare. Absolute perfection were the words the brunette would use to describe Sonya. While the snake familiar had her flaws, the angel was always willing to look past them. There was always something special about the woman, traits that nobody else appeared to possess the courage to discover.
They had merely started their relationship a few moments ago, but already were launching themselves into the core. Living in the same abode as her precious girlfriend became a journey she desired to take. A majority of people would state they were rushing, but already they had spent evenings in each other’s company. There were nights they snuggled up close after too many drinks at one of the local bars. Those pleasant evening spent in Sonya's company were favoured fuzzy memories for the young angel, alcohol leaving its traces in questionable awakenings to the following morning. After the extended period of time, they knew each other, those nights eventually felt as though they lived together occasionally. Already, Kaitlynn began mentally arranging plans to pack her belongings to move in with Sonya; even going lengths to think of locations to procure boxes.
There were even thoughts towards what could perhaps be placed in storage temporarily to avoid creating a cramped space inside the apartment walls. Excitement consumed the brunette as she imagined the incredible life she could have living with her girlfriend, her vast affection for the exotic woman clouding her judgement. The hasty agreement was difficult to resist because of her intense love for Sonya, however, there was hope this was the correct path. The angel's eyes lingered on her girlfriend's face, only half-listening to the words the familiar stated; she was stuck in thought. Miraculously, the brunette's observant eyes managed to notice the exotic woman lean closer with the intention of providing another kiss.
Naturally, Kaitlynn did similar once she realized, until the sudden sounds of heavy doors slamming open and combat boots stomping against concrete shook her focus. A sideways glance provided the brunette with a glance of the troops who interrupted their quiet moment, stating it was time for the remaining festivities to begin. The angel sighed softly, watching as Sonya got up to threaten the people who intruded on their quiet moment. There was a slight smile on Kaitlynn's face as she listened to the ultimatum Sonya provided in response to witnessing the tender moment. Slowly, the angel rose from the cold, concrete steps, her eyes automatically wandering to her gauntlets and making certain they were prepped for potential combat. A small frown touched Kaitlynn's lips at the thought of having to part from her beloved Sonya.
"Unfortunately... How about we meet out here after we're done?" Kaitlynn suggested, praying the crowd would remain rather thin outside.
Afterwards, the brunette followed the troops inside, separating from Sonya shortly to head towards her post in the distant corner of the room. As she walked, Kaitlynn kept a tall posture, her arms by her side as she attempted to maintain professionalism and authority in her stride. On her left breast shone the beautiful red star, allowing everybody to become aware of her position in the TRS; one of the sergeants of unit 2. While the supper ceremonies proceeded, the angel's eyes observed the crowd, searching for suspicious activity as she slowly moved through her provided route and half-listened to the speeches.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

Sonya made her way to the total opposite side of Kaitlynn while the festives took place. They really do know them quite well considering the two would probably be pretty distracted with each other and not doing their job. As she stood their a bit more relaxed than most of the others on duty. Sonya had a bit more cockiness attitude towards her position in the TRS. Being a high ranking official gave her a lot more confidence to be a bit more casual with responsibilities. Hence her more relaxed posture while peering over the crowd. Picking which little squirts to pick on first when their first day starts.
As she stood there waiting for something to happen, or for the festives to blow over smoothly. Which the familiar did which for. As another solider walked up to her to report on the guard outside of the main hall and around the rest of the area. "Ma'am, everything still looking secure from everyone." he said as he looked at Sonya as she just nodded.
"Good. Now get go back to doing what ever you are suppose to do." she said as she pushed him away with a hand to his face as he stumbled back and just scurried away. Sonya was always mean and rude, that was just how she was. Which is even surprising considering her rank. Or how the hell she even got it. She assumes it is because of her fighting experience and how well she preforms under pressure. But still, this part of the job doesn't come easy for the exotic woman. Being nice to people, or even faking it, isn't really up her alley. She likes to beat down on her subordinates and earns their respect. Hence why Unit 2 is a pretty tight nit squad. Cause Kaitlynn does the same exact thing. She just isn't as brutal as Sonya is.
Sonya crossed her arms as she leaned back agaisnt the wall still watching over the large crowd. As a person from Unit 2 walked over to Sonya and stood next to her. "Soooooo is the thing about you and Kaitlynn outside truuee. Were you two about to get it on." he asked a bit curiously. As Sonya just glared at him. "Oh come on sarg. Don't be so scary." he added
"Do you want me to turn into a snake and poison you." she said bluntly. "Cause I will. And there isn't a team fast enough to rush you to the hospital to get an antivenom to save your life." she said without much emotion or even a hint of joking. As the man chuckled a bit as he started to take a couple steps back as she just kept staring at him until he vanished behind a corner back to his post or something. As she sighed. "Why is the TRS like a highschool sometimes and shit spreads so fast." she said to herself.
Slowly, Kaitlynn walked around the perimeter of the building while occasionally glancing over the festivities occur. Her purple eyes observed everybody in the room, a majority calmly seated as the everything was handed out to the deserving students. Whispers were exchanged throughout the crowd, the younger children playing quiet games to entertain themselves. Adults sat tall, although, some appeared rather bored being forced to sit and listen to the dragging speeches designed to give the ceremonies some professional lavish. A melancholic voice performed a majority of the speeches, resulting in most of the crowd appearing on the verge of sleeping. These were moments the brunette wished they would have a more energetic speaker on stage or at least somebody who could maintain attention from the crowd; everybody seemed incredibly bored as they watched the presentation. A soft sigh escaped the angel's lip as she watched for a few moments before proceeding.
After a few moments, the angelic sergeant found a section of wall to occupy for a few moments while her eyes inspected the crowd. These were definitely the moments which made her wish to spend the entirety of this long shift walking around with Sonya. The scenario was impossible, but a pleasant thought on account of how boring the occurrences around her were. At least her girlfriend could provide conversation and perhaps whisper some sweet words instead of allowing the melancholic speaker to be the primary noise she heard. The angel was only half-listening to the speaker, but nonetheless found him a bore the longer he spoke; this graduation felt as though it would take hundreds of years. Once she spent a few minutes leaning against the wall, she pushed away to continue walking around and inspecting the crowd.
There were a few individuals who straightened in their seats from her arrival, the actions with the flirtatious teens fresh in their minds. They obviously wished to please her after the, unfortunately, circumstances from a moments ago. The action brought a subtle smirk to the angel's lips, an inaudible chuckle being captured in her throat as she proceeded. There were several glances taken around the area until a lanky man dressed in the TRS hunter uniform, his accents being a simple orange, approached. He managed to complete a sharp salute when he suddenly stopped, although, remained quiet to avoid being too much of a distraction. The sergeant gestured for him to cease the salute, the man hastily listening to avoid possibly annoying his sergeant. Already from their interactions, Kaitlynn could sense somebody who was perhaps self-conscious and concerned about receiving punishment.
"Yes?" She inquired, ignoring formalities.
The brunette crossed her arms, regarding the hunter with curious eyes as she waited for him to relay information from the various hunters in the vicinity. Most scouts were used to inspect the perimeter for terrors or suspicious activities instead of inside the enclosed space.
"It appears everything is safe, ma'am," he stated, attempting to avoid attention. "We've got clear from all men in the area. Is there anything else you need us to do?"
There was a pause as Kaitlynn looked down at the young man. She crossed her arms, resting her hand beneath her chin before a single finger softly touched her lips. After a few minutes of thought, she grinned, her hands resting on her hips.
"Check the doors again. Report the entry of any suspicious individuals in case we get a disguiser in here," Kaitlynn commanded.
A series of hasty nods were her answer, the man quickly turning tale to make his way to the doors. Once he disappeared, the angel proceeded on her walk, eyes searching for anything awry.

Sonya yawned a bit, these types of missions always pissed the familiar off. It was mostly just standing round playing with your thumbs no real action. Which was shame, Sonya was awful as guard detail most of the times cause she just got increasingly mad the more time past. If it wasn't for so many public figures here she probably would have taken to gambling with the other guards. Either playing cards or just fighting. It was a good way to pass time and all that. But here, she couldn't as it would most likely draw negative attention to her and the TRS. Which she really didn't want.
She yawned a bit as kept her balanced while leaning against the wall. Before she took her post, she did grab her katana she usually carried on her. It was rare for her to be at work without it. Since she didn't have many offensive abilities. She relied on her martial arts. The only two skills that really helped were her poison she could produce. And her ability to shift into a snake to get away by squeezing into small spaces. Or to strangle an enemy. Other than that she would be useless but now that she has trained for nearly ten years honing her sword skills she is a pretty scary opponent. Most likely why she was promoted to the rank she was.
Sonya wiped the small tear that had formed after she yawned as one of the guards came up to her in heap, sweating and a small amount of blood on his cheek. He started to tremble and stutter. As Sonya slapped the poor lad across the cheek to calm down. As he finally spilled the news that they were under attack. As she smiled a bit. "Guess this night just got a bit more exciting." she said to herself. As she took out a throwing knife from the back of her belt and threw it at the podium the speaker was at. It lodged its self into the wood as everyone looked behind at her.
"We are under attack. I need everyone to stay in this room. It is the safest place at the moment with how many of us are here." as some of the new recruits stood up. As she shot them a glare. "All the recruits and their family and friends are ordered to stay put." she paused for a second. "So help me if anyone tries to take step out of this hall. I will see to kill you myself as you will only be slowing us down by requiring more people to protect" she finished yelling out as she jogged over to Kaitlynn.
"Order some people to guard the back exit, keep about five or six here in case we fail. You are better at this part of the job of keeping people calm. As you can see I am not." she said before she took off and followed the guard that had a bit of blood on him out to the front door where Kat and her had their moment before. As she kicked the door open gripping her sword. She looked out over the steps and the surrounding area with her yellow eyes. Seeing about 20-30 mutants ranging between low risk and medium. While a bit down the street there was one fear eater. From the size of the thing she assumed it was no low level. More on the brute size or higher.
Sonya drew her sword just as a couple low risk mutants tried to jump on the poor kid that relayed the info to her. As she sliced right threw the one closest to the kid. As she turned cut the head off the other, the head rolled to a stopped as the body laid, bleeding. As she looked at the kid. "Go back inside and protect the families in there" she said as he just nodded and booked it back inside. As Sonya's two K-9 teeth started to grow in length, and the upper part of her mouth started to form huge glands. She brought her sword up to her mouth as she started to spew poison onto the blade. Since she was immune to her own poison she rubbed her hand along the blade smothering it all over it. As her mouth returned to it normal state. "Now time to slay some fuckers." she said with an excited smile.
Speeches proceeded in lengthy rambles which Kaitlynn only half-listened to; her attention was fixated on detecting disturbances in the peace. These would certainly drag one for a few hours, and after years of attending, the angel learned to ignore the sound and preoccupy herself with her own thoughts. Casual glances were taken towards the crowd, Kaitlynn detecting several familiar faces from the TRS graduation and accessing the future agents once again. The overall impression was rather interesting considering the number of youthful faces mixed in with the occasional older member. There were plenty of members of different ages who decides to join the fight to save Lorsette from possibly falling to the Assembly of Phantoms. Only a moment was left to ponder who they suffered along the way and left service for the afterlife or struggled with a permanent physical injury.
After years of working for TRS, the dark-skinned sergeant became acquainted with a plethora of ugly visuals from time spent on the field. Blood and gore were frequent visitors, resulting in agents needing to adjust to handle the grotesque bodies. As time progressed, Kaitlynn swore those scenes would become worse, each reserving a special place in the young angel's mind. A soft sigh escaped her purple-coloured lips as she proceeded to wander around her patrol route without any interesting sites. The lack of stimulation leaving her to her own thoughts while the monotone voice continued drawling on about accomplishments and journeys. In result, a majority of the crowd appeared as though they would accidentally slip into a state of sleep from the boring, long-winded speeches. The boredom appeared to proceed endlessly, Kaitlynn wondering if it was plausible to fall asleep while she marched down her route.
Suddenly, there was a loud thunk as the blade of a knife embedded itself into the wood of the large podium. Immediately, the speaker's face switched to shock, his voice being cut off from the abrupt and frightening act, however, it was an excellent signal for silence. The angel turned towards the crowd, allowing her gauntlets to power up with electricity the instant she heard about intruders. There were recruits who stiffened, some of the younger ones rising in hopes of being allowed to join the fray to impress their classmates and parents. Panic enveloped the crowd as the situation was explained, Sonya coming to her side a few moments later. The assignment of tasks went smoothly considering they each had skills better suited for specific missions.
As Sonya departed to fight, Kaitlynn cupped her hands and yelled behind her. “Radio me if you have troubles, I am all charged up!”
The shout referred to her gauntlets which proceeded to capture and hold electricity for the angel’s use. They were specially designed to cater to Kaitlynn’s shocking combat style. Once her lover disappeared, light erupted from the angel’s back as she spawned a pair of pure white wings. Their pristine feathers and general shape were already prepared to lift the angel into the air, allowing her to hover above the crowd. A pair of her fingers went into Kaitlynn’s mouth as she produced a shrill whistle to gain the attention of everyone remaining in the room.
“Everybody stay calm! The TRS will be handling this interruption as quickly as possible. Everyone will be alright,” Kaitlynn said with an authoritative tone. After a few moments, her eyes drifted to a group of hunters on duty, her slender finger pointed towards them. “I want you to head to the back exit and protect it! If you see anything let me know, especially if we are at risk of being overrun.”
Each hunter provided a crisp salute before hurrying towards the back door, the one in the back prepping her radio. After they departed, the angel swooped down towards her remaining officer and gestures for the wraith and shifter among them to step forward. She approached slowly, making a tight crowd to murmur her next demands. The sergeant needed to make certain no disguises were hiding amidst the crowd, prepared to cause havoc. Those creatures could not hide from all species, fortunately.
In a hushed voice, she relayed her demands. “Search the crowd for anyone of interest, got it?”
The pair paused before nodding as they understood the meaning of the vague command. Afterwards, the pair departed from the remaining soldiers to walk amidst the crowd, sensed searching. The angel watches them for a few moments before turning towards her remaining handful of soldiers.
“Divide yourself into teams and watch the doors. Let me know if any terror or injured are coming inside. If we need to evacuate, I want to know immediately.”
Once the commands were provided, there were more salutes as the hunters divided themselves into teams. On the inside, everything worked similar to clockwork as the sergeant demonstrated her authority despite the panicked atmosphere; years of work numbed her to it. After a few moments, she grabbed her own radio, a magically charmed machine meant to be immune to the electrical currents running through her gauntlets. The device was ferried to her lips as Kaitlynn inspected the crowd and flicked on to a widespread channel.
“We have been attacked at the city hall and are currently fighting off the terror threat. I or sergeant Sonya will let you know if we require back up,” she stated simply before switching to strictly the unit 2 channel. “I got everything in place, how are things out there?”
While she waited for a response, Kaitlynn scrutinized the city hall, her violet eyes watching the pair of hunters she sent into the crowd. She proceeded to glance around, watching as medical and scouting divisions continued to organize themselves. The medics had already fetched the wounded soldiers which returned inside, their hands moving swiftly. Meanwhile, scouts dispersed themselves to watch and provide information for all TRS agents.

Sonya looked over the handful of agents holding off the attack. It was more like a test of strength for the young-lings inside the city hall than anything. As they were mostly low level threats compared to what they usually face out in the field. As Sonya stabbed another one through the head as it wound gushed out blood and the thing fell to the ground. "Take up positioning on top of the stars, any of you that have long ranged spells. Fire down into anyone you see. Anyone with melee capabilities follow me. We will spread out near the bottom of the stairs in the street. We are the last line before they get into the hall. Fight to the last drop of blood leaves you!" she commanded her unit with quick and precise orders. With their motto at the end rallying the few men and woman outside. These orders really showing her understanding how a battle works. Making sure her ranged spell users had ample space to concentrate and prepare their spells. While their melee units had their own space to dish out some whoop ass without having to protect their spell casters. As all the agents responded with a Ma'am and took their potions. This is where Sonya excelled where Kaitlynn was better at the more keeping people calm. This is why unit two was an all around perfect unit. Kaitlynn keeping the calm before the storm while Sonya riled up the troops to give every last drop of sweat they had. That is why unit two has such an aura around them.
Sonya laying the dull side of her blade as she slowly walked down the stairs to join the melee agents. As she looked at the small army approach. As the low levels of their formation broke into a full sprint at the line of the TRS agents in the street. As fire balls and electricity and other ranged spells, rained down on their parade. Hitting a few as they tumbled forward...dead. As the melee units took their stances and started to attack once the mutants started to reach their line. Sonya joining in on cutting down the damn things. Her katana as sharp as ever severing limbs and heads with one swing of the deadly instrument. As she heard her radio click on as Kaitlynn was heard over it.
She hacked one down as she grabbed the hard plastic device from the back of her belt. Clocking the button. "Who the hell you think you are calling for reinforcements." she scoffed into the radio. "We have this out here. You know unit two is the best at fighting. After all we fight till the last drop of blood leaves our bodies" she said as everyone that heard the motto shouted a Hoorah. Even some on the inside that were in earshot of the radio did the same near Kaitlynn. "Oh by the way I will radio in for you when the terror decides to attack. From the way I see it it a mid rank terror." she said as she clicked the radio back into place on the back of her belt as some of the men protected her without even needing an order to do while she used the radio. As the men split back to their position as Sonya took the heads of a couple more. Their numbers starting to dwindle compared to the short staffed of unit two. Whom only suffered a couple injuries at the beginning of the attack. As spells kept whizzing past the heads of the ground units hitting into the mutants and just destroying them.
Sonya gripping her sword in excitement from the adrenaline pumping through her veins. As she kept slaughtering the ground force in front of them. As the couple of higher ranked mutants joined the fight with their armor. As Sonya ran up to one from behind as it was trying to pound into some of the men. As she did she cut the tendons on the back of the legs as it fell to a knee. And in one swift slash cut the head off of it. As the head rolled to a stop in front of the men. "Mutants with armor usually don't have any armor on the back of their legs. Focus their to get them down." she said as they just nodded. The battle continuing on with no end in sight as of right now. The understaffed unit two holding their own as of now.
Carefully, Kaitlynn’s eyes scrutinized the interior of the city hall. With the arrival of terrors, the angel was placed on high alert, her purple eyes doing constant sweeps while her radio remained tight in hand. The Assembly of Phantoms would not be successful, the brunette was certain. Unit two proved on several occasions to be a powerhouse because of Sonya’s strict hunter requirements. Training was constant, their organized teamwork allowing their unit to successfully survive numerous scenarios. They would certainly survive their current situation, presumably without reinforcements, but caution never harmed anybody. Should an emergency suddenly arrive, hunters within the immediate area could appear to aid them, allowing for assured survival. While their unit was skillful and capable, possessing a back-up plan would assure the inevitable victory of the TRS forces. There were few moments where people managed to break through the strong defences created by their unit; formation was crucial, making it a respectable word amidst unit two fighters.
The personalities between Kaitlynn and Sonya furthered their ability, with the angel possessing a calmer edge while the familiar handles the aggressive assaults on the enemy. While they possessed plenty of potential alone, together they were an unstoppable fighting duo who smoothly separated to accomplish the task which the other may struggle with. Crowd control was frequently provided to Kaitlynn, allowing her watchful eyes to fixate on a small handful of troops. Each was arranged effortlessly, the angel occasionally providing different duties as required; such as the specific species for disguiser patrols. Those shady creatures could not be warranted time to remain hidden amidst crowds, plotting their attacks with their superior intelligence compared to other terrors. Periodically, disguisers managed to orchestrate interesting plans, creating stressful dilemmas for TRS officials.
They were cunning creatures, designed by Zeredah to replicate human patterns and thoughts, allowing them to speak a countries' language with precision after a meagre few lessons. Tricksters my nature, the intention to cause paranoia amidst the citizens being evident, furthermore, they were skilled in the art. A thin smirk graced Kaitlynn's mouth at Sonya's denial of requiring reinforcements. Somebody had to keep a caution for unit two, and frequently, the angel landed the burden onto her own shoulders; her exotic partner would be unlikely to request reinforcements on most occasions. A chorus of cheering followed Sonya's declaration, making it obvious everybody was excited for the chance to fight.
"Now, now, I never told them to come. I am just preparing for an emergency, dear," Kaitlynn teased lovingly. "Somebody needs to be the over-protective soldier over the unit."
There was a brief pause before Sonya informed the angel about possibly being called to assist. A broad grin stretched across Kaitlynn's lips, the sparks between the fingers of her metal gauntlets buzzing in exhilaration; her electricity was hungry for use.
"If it's one of those metal, animal combinations, you better! I can fry the tech right off the thing," Kaitlynn responded eagerly. "I don't think Zeredah thought about what some electricity can do."
Once the radio chatter ceased, the wraith and shifter hunters returned with their reports, stating they found no disguisers amidst the crowd. Presumably, the attack could have been calculated last minute or the enemy wished to preserve their valuable trickers for more worth while missions. The hunters were provided with a nod, Kaitlynn gesturing for each to take a position on opposite sides of the crowd. While Sonya requested everybody to stay within the building, the angel desired to maintain her caution to avoid mass-casualties should the situation go array. The wings on Kaitlynn's back began flapping until they managed to carry her above the crowd of fearful citizens. She was certain unit two could handle the situation outside, but testing the rookies' formation abilities during a mass panic would definitely be interesting.
"Listen up!" Her voice boomed through city hall. "I want to get this crowd organized in case of a breach, so this is what I want you rookies and your families to do. All regular citizens, I want you to stretch across the back wall, if we get breached, my hunters and I will work towards evacuating you. Any of you young hunters who fight using magic or enhancements, I want you to form a thin line around those who can't defend themselves. You WILL NOT leave city hall unless I tell you to."
Gradually, the crowd began arranging themselves, Kaitlynn pointing towards her other hunters to assist with the organization until finally everything appeared operational; they were prepared for the worst-case scenario. Possible reinforcements were notified, the citizens were prepped for possible evacuation and were kept calm. A glance was taken around the hall, the brunette nodding at the organized manner everything was handled.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

Sonya watched as the unit took to their own devices to take out the mutants. Taking a breath and wiping off some splattered blood off of her face. Smearing it a bit on her jacket. Not that she cared. She hated this thing. The unit was bar next to none in fighting. Sonya hand picking her hunters for the unit. She knew that picking them herself meant that they would train harder because they were hand picked by a Lt. Since Sonya took over as the leader of unit two. She placed strict training on her unit. Not letting a single person skip out or work less. They all handled the load together. Hence why their teamwork was next to none. If one person slacked they were all punished. Most of unit two did everything together. Sonya heading the front with Kaitlynn as her right hand woman. Being the more motherly of the unit but still strict none the less.
Sonya sighed a bit as she looked out at the terror approaching. She would like to deal with more of the mutants before trying to attack that damn thing. As she sliced the head off of another one that came up to her. There just seemed no end to these damn things. As one had started to sneak up behind her before it was blasted away with a fireball. Feeling the heat from the fire. As she glanced at one of the spell casters. "Good aim to not kill me there." she said jokingly with a sly thumbs up. She looked at of the members and studied them for a second. They were gradually getting tired swinging or punching their way through the masses of the small fries. "guess we have to work on more stamina." she said to herself.
When one of the men got jumped on by a couple of mutants. Sonya ran over and kicked on of them in the face, feeling her boot sink into the flesh before the damn thing was flung off the poor man. As he stabbed her sword into the other. As her sword penetrated the other side of the mutant. Going through it completely. As she helped the kid up to his feet. As she held onto his side and felt a warm liquid pour over her hand. She pressed harder on the area. "Oi medic, get this kid inside and start healing him." she yelled out as one man came over and took the person from Sonya as they started to make their way inside. The fighters and spell casters covering them. As the terror was finally at their position. It was definitely not one to be trifled with. This one was tall, thin and adorned sharp claws. Just as Sonya was judging it. It vanished out of sight, to only appear in front of her. Thankfully her reaction time was fast and had put her sword in the way of the claws. As she stopped the thrust from the creature. But it was mere sigh of relief as she was starting to be pushed back by the sheer power it had. Her boots trying to find purchase any where they could. As the other hand of the creature was going for a sideswipe motion. As Sonya pushed back off the sword just barely dodging the attack. As she landed after jumping back, he coat and undershirt were ripped and she could feel the red warm liquid start to pour out of a wound. It wasn't anything serious, the cut wasn't deep. But she was bleeding pretty good from the claws.
Sonya kept a close eye on the terror as she reached for her radio. She clicked the button "Hey dear I could use you-" she was saying when the creature took another swipe at her as she let go of the radio letting it get shred into pieces. As she ducked under the swipe. Taking her sword and swinging at the terror's leg. As one clean swipe one of the legs was completely cut off. As the terror kneeled down and started to screech. As Sonya climbed on it's back and sunk her sword into the neck of the beast, silencing it. As it fell to the ground dead with Sonya still on it's back. She walked off the beast grabbing her sword out of the damn thing and swinging it remove the excess blood. She sighed with relief since it was down. As she looked down to see her wound.
As she did one of the trs agents yelled out to Sonya "Lt. Watch out!" he yelled out as right when she looked a brute was next to her and was already swinging. As she clocked by the brute. She had put up her arms in time but that didn't do anything. As she took the full frontal force behind the brute's attack. By this point Kaitlynn should have been outside to see this. As Sonya was sent flying into the stairs. Hitting it with a audible thud. As dust was kicked up from the impact of Sonya's body cracking into the stairs.
These were the moments where Kaitlynn’s adrenaline kicked in as her authority shone at the moment. Nobody would conquer unit two on this day and the sergeant was determined to defend everybody to the best of her ability. A smirk graced the angel’s lips once everybody was properly organized inside the hall, any stragglers or runaways captured and led back to the main group by her small dispatch of hunters. They likely desired to assist in defending city hall, but without proper TRS uniforms, Kaitlynn remained hesitant to grant them freedom unless they managed to get overran. Otherwise, their presence on the field would be more of a burden considering most were meagre fledglings compared to the strictly trained hunters of unit two. While they passed their courses, there remained plenty to learn in terms of hunting and handling stressful situations. A quick glance was provided towards the medical staff, similarly shorted and needing some assistance. There were a few hunters flooding in, thankfully none being the exotic lieutenant of the unit. Should Sonya fall, Kaitlynn would be forced to leave the refuge of city hall to command the outer attack. An elite could be left in charge of monitoring the situation, but the outside was wild and ever-changing because of the current situation.
Based on the lack of radio activity, Kaitlynn presumed everything was proceeding as planned outside. The further analysis of the medical situation prompted the angel to rearrange her groupings.
A breath was sucked in, the angel still speaking with her thunderous authority. “Anybody experienced with medical and would like to volunteer to assist our team, raise your hand.”
After a few quiet moments, some hands darted up amidst the crowd. A brief gesture was provided, Kaitlynn’s hunters going in to fetch the healers. The volunteers were gathered and led towards where the medics were stationed, each promptly assisting the injured. A nod of approvement acted as Kaitlynn's response to the scene, a soft sigh escaping her lips as she watched the crowd. Parents calmed children, each reasonably worried considering the situation they were abruptly shoved into on account of the unpredictable actions of the Assembly. There was magic-based healing occurring, evident by faint flashes which happened when some used their abilities to mend the brutally injured. These were the grimly sights of the war between the TRS and AP, each fighting for victory, although, this battle was merely against terrors. There were plenty of Assembly soldiers prepared to brawl against the hunters of the TRS and these fights appeared endless. At times, Kaitlynn worried these skirmishes between the two groups would never cease and instead remain in a stalemate for all eternity; neither side wanted to budge on their beliefs after all.
The familiar voice of her darling lover arrived through the radio. Hastily, the angel descended, gathering the agents currently taking care of the massive crowd; they were thankfully elites.
"Maintain everything inside, the lieutenant needs my help outside," Kaitlynn explained quietly before turning on her heel to leave.
Hastily, the angel ran down out the exit, her wings pressed tight against her back as she entered the chilled breeze of a summer evening. Immediately, the clash of weaponry and magic reached her ears, but these noises became natural after years of service in the TRS. Both mutants and fear eaters littered the field while the TRS worked hard to fight off the terror threat plaguing the roads. Only a moment was taken to observe the scene, the sergeant analyzing to pick the best place to begin until she saw a familiar form being hurtled through the sky. The purple eyes of the angel widened in horror as her beloved girlfriend slammed into the stone stairs of city hall. Several beats skipped in Kaitlynn's heart as her stomach ached with worry, but the brunette attempted to maintain a stern, strong face; somebody needed to lead the troops. A single tear trickled down her face, but instead of breaking into a sob, the angel grabbed her radio and brought it to her lips.
"Lieutenant Sonya has been injured! I need a medic out her immediately, it appears a brute hit her, she is on the stairs of city hall. Make sure everybody remains calm, I will handle the attack as planned," Kaitlynn commanded. As she carefully passed by, she crouched to whisper. "I love you, so you better heal from this. I will make sure the unit wins for you."
Slowly, she rose to her tall height to provide the battlefield with another assessment. There was a moment spared to glance towards her lieutenant, concern obvious in her expression, but unfortunately, unit two needed somebody to command it. Despite her angel origins, she lacked the ability to heal major wounds or possible fractures from being flung into stairs, although, Kaitlynn wished she learned more. When she glanced back, her eyes managed to lock on the brute who decided to harm her precious girlfriend. As the sounds of footsteps rushed out of city hall, the angel spread her large white wings before flapping them to lift herself into the sky. There was no time to waste as she rushed forward, propelling herself towards the brute as electricity zapped between her fingers. One of its slow, large paws attempted to hit her out of the sky, but smoothly the sergeant moved around it, allowing her to get close and plunge the sharp tips of her gauntlet into the creature's back. A hasty light barrier was made to softly push away her fellow before the electrocution began.
Electricity was directly used on the brute, the angel's charged gauntlets allowing for a massive charge to run into the brute. The creature lurched, yowling a complaint from the sudden electrocution before clasping into the street where it turned to ash. Carefully, Kaitlynn rode the massive body down, bailing last minute into a brief glide before the pile of ash was created. There was one threat eliminated, but plenty left to face the wrath of the infuriated angel.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

Sonya's body smashed into the stairs. As a bit of dust and rose from the spot. As right away she knew a lot of ribs were broken and her right arm. As that was the arm that took the brunt of the force from the brute. She leaned over and started to cough up blood. As she spit some over the stairs. As she her vision was a bit blurry as a form knelt over her saying they loved her and she better heal from this. Which she will. As the form took off to deal with the threat. She assumed it was Kaitlynn. And it was has her vision came back to her. She watched as she leaped into the air and dealt with the brute in a swift movement turning that damn thing to ash.
As a couple medics knelt over her body judging her wounds. As they got her to her feet. As she spit out more blood. As one of them said lets get her inside where it is safe and start healing her wounds. Sonya, with her good arm elbowed one of them off of her. And shrugged the other off. "Piss off. I can still fight." she said as they just looked at her.
"But you can't. You have three ribs broken entirely. Your arm is shattered. And your collar bone also." the medic said as he just looked at her.
Sonya shot the lad a glare that said she was staying. "Fight till the last drop of blood leaves our body. That is our motto. So fuck off and go deal with the injured inside. I will be fine." she said as she walked over and leaned down with a huge grunt from the pain in her chest and arm. As she grabbed her sword. And swung it around a few times. Her adrenaline kicking in overtime as the pain started to subside. Enough so she could fight with the pain and it wouldn't effect her to the point of putting her on her ass.
She looked around as mutant came up to her as she sliced it down with little movement. As she tsked at the pain from moving her upperbody. As she looked around. The terrors and mutants now with less numbers than the TRS and they knew it as some started to flee. Which was a good thing as she didn't think she could be on her feet for much longer. Her vision still coming and going. It truly was a pain right now.
As she looked at Kaitlynn dealing with the straggling mutants and terrors. She noticed one sneaking up on her. As her started to run towards her. Her shattered arm just flapping in the wind as she ran. She got close enough to the damn thing and chucked her sword at the mutant. The sword flying through the air as the mutant jumped at Kaitlynn. As it was about to jump on her, the sword impaled it's self into the head of the mutant. Forcing it off course just enough to fall to the side of Kaitlynn. As she chuckled a bit at her aim.
She walked up to the mutant and placed her foot on the beast and removed her sword. She spit out more blood as she looked Kaitlynn. "Did you really think you could take me out of this fight hun." she said with a cough as she knelt down onto a knee. The battle pretty much being over. The mutants all running away after seeing their two trump cards vanquished with ease. As her sword was used for stability as she just looked at the carnage they created.
Adrenaline flowed thick through Kaitlynn’s veins after killing the brute, a broad grin stretching across her lips; victorious against a terror! There were still plenty of terrors to destroy, but the angel was confident and determined to make the Assembly suffer for hurting her beloved Sonya alongside her fellow hunters. Allowing them to harm their precious unit to the extreme could not be warranted, thus the angel kept herself prepares and primed for fighting. Electricity proceeded to be captured in her specially designed gloves, charging her for the following battles. There were still terrors to handle and the brunette was prepared to fend them off through the force of her skill. The hunters fixated on defeating the brute dispersed, already working towards handling the remaining terrors who refused to flee. There was no time to spare on glancing towards Sonya as the angel promptly entered the fray, using her magic to defend herself from the terrors. There was a trio of them, but the confident sergeant stood tall, prepared to launch into combat. A brief moment was spent sizing up the low-class mutants which circled her, a soft whistle leaving her pursed lips as she observed their formation. These creatures were akin to giant cats, their tails long while their claws were razor sharp.
Their faces were altered, additions being rows of metallic teeth. Patches of fur were missing, instead replaced with sections of plated metal for armour. Her wings remained tight against her back, soon disappearing to avoid becoming a burden in the close combat situation. There were subtle movements, slight twitches of the mechanics and muscles until the one to her right leaped, giant claws aimed to kill. Hastily, Kaitlynn lifted her hand to create a brilliant white shield with a subtle glow, her manipulation defending her successfully as she heard a loud thunk. Immediately after the failed attempt, another leaped towards her, which was answered was answered with a harsh blow of electricity which surged from Kaitlynn’s gauntlets. It fell to the ground, managing back onto its paws, but promptly ran away. There was only a pair remaining, the one behind the shield recovering while another lept towards her. The mutant’s mighty legs launched it forward, but before Kaitlynn could proceed to defend herself and handle the situation accordingly, a blur rushed forward to intercept the creature. A sword thrust into the mutant’s head, forcing it to veer off course from the frightful strength of the wielder. A grimace graced Kaitlynn’s face as she noticed Sonya, severely injured, but too stubborn to cease her fighting. Without choice, Kaitlynn removed the light shield, dodging the giant claws before stabbing the tips of her gauntlets in to give a severe, electrical shock.
The creature promptly fell after the shock, turning to ash beneath her. Afterwards, the angel turned to her beloved familiar, eyes narrowed down into a glare.
“Love, you better go back and get healed, or I will delay moving in with you,” Kaitlynn stated.
With the terrors fleeing, the angel decided to reach for Sonya’s collar to gently drag her back towards the city hall. While Kaitlynn desired to move in with her girlfriend, she needed punishment for being reckless in the first place. She loved Sonya dearly and witnessing her with those types of injuries hurt the angel’s heart.

Sonya looked at the fleeing monsters as she chuckled from her knees at the fact that they were running away with their tails between their legs. Serves them right. They should know by now to not mess with Unit Two. But they never get the message. Since Sonya took over Unit Two she has never let them loose a battle. She has truly turned them into a threat to be scared of. No tiny unit, but a juggernaut. Even when backed into a corner they are feisty. More like a mercenary group than anything. And at the head, a ruthless woman who doesn't take no for an answer. Despite her fiery personality, she does have respect for her unit. And will always protect them.
As she struggled to stand as the exhilaration from the fight was wearing off and pain replacing the excitement flowing through her. She looked over at Kaitlynn as she was glaring at her. And said she should get treated or she would halt the moving in process. Sonya's eye just twitched. "You looking for a fight." she coughed out as she took a stance to fight her. As she started to move towards the exotic woman. Sonya didn't want to hear that she was being reckless, if the Lt. can't adhere to their motto why did she even make one? To sound cool? Hell no, it's to excite the troops and make sure they fight with everything they got.
As Kaitlynn got to Sonya she grabbed onto her collar and started to drag her back inside as Sonya just looked at up at her as she was being dragged back. "You really do wanna fight woman. Then once I'm all healed up, just you wait, I'll kick your butt so hard you wont be able to walk." She screamed out. She didn't like admitting she was injured or going to get healed up. To Sonya it was more or less a sign of defeat. If anything, she wished she could move to get out of the hold Kaitlynn had so she could. But the pain was so unbearable at the moment that she let herself be dragged back. "Just so we are clear I'm letting you drag me back." she huffed as she looked away from Kaitlynn not wanting to admit any thing.
There were moments where Kaitlynn despised Sonya's reckless attitude, particularly when it endangered the familiar's life. The exotic woman was her girlfriend recently, and the brunette refused to have her fall victim to the vicious terrors who plagued their world. She abandoned a majority of her family, her one older brother remaining by her side, thus Kaitlynn did not desire her girlfriend leaving in a permanent sense. Allowing such an atrocity to occur would be a sin in the angel's world, thus she grew determined to drag her beloved Sonya to where the medics were. Should the familiar continue to resist, the brunette would be entirely content with radioing the medics to tranquilize her precious Sonya. From a mere glance, Kaitlynn could easily notice the lieutenant needed plenty of healing after her vicious brawl against the terrors.
The angel's purple eyes analyzed the variety of wounds her lover possessed, finding herself displeased with the cuts, but most particularly the condition of Sonya's shattered arm. Shattered bones were an unpleasant and possibly life-altering wound, thus Kaitlynn could not allow her girlfriend to continue her recklessness. She reached out, successfully grabbing Sonya's collar, and started dragging her towards city hall. There were no responses given to the familiar's insistence about desiring a fight considering the angel merely wanted her beloved Sonya to be healed. Hesitation was lacking as the brunette proceeded to pull Sonya along, but provided no commentary in regards to the exotic woman's statements; she was displeased with the reckless manner her lieutenant and lover endangered herself. Terrors proceeded to flee or be defeated around them, the remainder of unit two evidently having the situation handled. As the sergeant walked, there was firm confidence to her stance, each step being measured as she carried herself closer to city hall.
There was the slightest hint of anger flared in her beautiful violet eyes which caused a majority to skirt away from her path; Kaitlynn rarely got infuriated. A limited amount of actions could result in burning a fire in the angel, but a definite one was the reckless endangerment of her loved ones. The brunette was over-protective when it arrived at those she cared about, resulting in her necessity to immediately get Sonya to a medic. Her pace slowed once she reached the stairs, the angel cautiously stepping around the damages caused by the familiar's harsh landing to head through the large doors. Once inside, she directly walked towards the medical area, providing the hunters left inside information on the finished battle. Cautiously, she set Sonya down near the medics before placing her hands on her hips.
"Can you please heal our lieutenant? Tranq her if you must," Kaitlynn stated before turning a heel to handle the remainder of the situation.
First, she spoke with her fellow hunters, filling them in on the situation and stating the ceremony could finally proceed unless they desired to merely hand out diplomas and allow the frightened citizens to head home. Her hunters worked accordingly to the sergeant's commands, the brunette's radio call promptly going out to allow scouts to survey the area and for the hunters to come inside for assessments in physical health. Unit two was a powerhouse, but unfortunately, the members could be reckless.

Sonya was dragged all the way inside, but before they were fully inside she just stared across the battle field. What a mess, honestly. She should have known that brute was there. But instead she was smashed and sent flying into the stairs destroying them pretty badly. She tsk'd at her own mistakes and vowed to never let another enemy sneak up on her like that again. But she was glad that it wasn't Kaitlynn that was hurt. If it was, Sonya wouldn't know if she would have been able to contain herself. And would have most likely chased after the fleeing scum all the way to their home. Most likely to only die in the process of taking out only a fraction of their force. But she would have been too pissed to stop.
Once she was finally dragged to the make shift medic area she was dropped off by Kaitlynn as she said heal her and if they needed to tranquilize her. Sonya just glared at Kaitlynn before she walked away. As the medics got to work. "Oi, why she mad at me?" she asked one of the medics as two of them started to treat her wounds. Both working on a different injury. As they both looked at each other and didn't say anything but continued on their job. "You two are useless." she added as she just closed her eyes waiting for the healing to be over with. Sonya was horrible at understanding people's emotions unless they told her.
She wasn't dense. She just couldn't understand them sometimes. Kaitlynn was different. Most of the time she understood what she was feeling because how close they are. But this was one of those times she didn't understand why she was so upset with her. Like all she did was try to protect her from damn monsters. Injuries aside she didn't understand it. Maybe it was cause she was injured? and pretty badly too? Maybe that's why.
It was about twenty five to half an hour later that they finished. Not fully considering the amount of damage she had sustained. So it would take a couple healing sessions to fully fix her arm. But her ribs were fully healed despite the faint hints of pain. As they put her arm in a sling for the time being. As she grabbed her jacket and just placed it over her shoulders. As she had to take it off for them to heal her. As she walked around looking for Kaitlynn. When she found her she was talking to the families that were all too scared. As she looked at her and sighed before turning heal and walking towards the door. As she walked outside into the brisk air. As the hunters Kaitlynn sent out to chase them returned reporting that the rest had been killed. As Sonya just nodded giving them praise and telling them to go get healed or rested.
As she walked to the steps where the damaged stairs were and just stared at them before walking past them to retrieve her sword. As she sheathed it. And just stood there looking at the damn things scattered across the ground. "Fucking pieces of shit." she said to herself as a gust of wind started to blow, blowing her hair and jacket all around. She was pissed to say the least. Letting enemies escape before her. Along with getting hurt. It was more or a less a disgrace. But what could she do? She didn't have many powers other than turning into a goddamn snake and use poison. She didn't have super speed or strength. She could barely even use her magic. She was pathetic.
She didn't even know why she was the Lt. being such a weakling. What cause she is good a leading. Fuck that, she was weak and she knew it. Maybe that's why she covers up her weakness with fighting everyone cause she can't bring herself to admit it or rely on others for help. After all she was alone for the longest time relying on herself alone. As she just clenched her fist in anger as she stood there.
Reckless could become a recipe for death on most occasions, resulting in Kaitlynn fuming from her girlfriend’s persistent need to push forward. She loved Sonya immensely, thus she fretted over losing the beloved snake familiar to the Assembly of Phantoms’ forces. There was always a chance death could occur on the battlefield with the enemy not often inclined to give mercy. While people could be granted a second chance after death, the angel did not desire to think about what could happen afterwards. Those speculations about the hellscapes where people were trapped after dying a second time were perturbing thoughts, especially after being frightened of losing her precious Sonya. Despite the concerned thoughts orbiting her mind, Kaitlynn proceeded forward, her head up high with long strides carrying her towards the hunters inside. There was sheer confidence evident on her face, the angel hiding her fears for Sonya's recklessness.
A leader needed to be levelheaded even when lost amidst the endless torrent of uneasy thoughts; her hunters needed somebody to provide the commands. As a sergeant, she was expected to lead unit two during times when Lieutenant Sonya was absent or unable to do her part. The radio was whisked from her pocket and brought to her purple coloured lips, merely a few centimetres away from the lipstick-covered surface.
“Do your best to dispose of any fleeing terrors. If they get back to wherever they hide them, Zeredah may use them again,” she began, providing the hunters in the field to do their work. “I want half the magic users to stay here. Some of you scouts, if you can help bring the injured in that would be fantastic.”
There was an authoritative tone to her voice as the angel spoke, proceeding to smoothly accomplish the tasks of her position. She was the sergeant and was expected to assume lead should it be required. There were still people huddled together, particularly parents and other citizens awaiting the continuation of the award ceremony; even if it deteriorated into a meagre handing. The recently graduated hunters stood bravely around them, taking pride in their opportunity to display their bravery. The medics kept working as scouts began assisting the injured inside, creating a steady flow. Meanwhile, Kaitlynn observed as she strode towards a pair elites she could enlist the assistance of. The approach of their sergeant proper for them to straighten before giving a grips salute. They stood tall, waiting for the angel to approach and provide them with commands.
On their faces were courageous expressions, each aware of the city plight they were summoned to act on. Temporarily, Sonya could not return to the battlefield, which meant Kaitlynn required assistance to keep everything organized.
“They can keep handing out rewards now, but keep your eyes out. Especially for a certain type of creature which could be around still with the flood of injured. Let everyone posted at the doors know, you can leave two at each to stand watch. I will let you know if we need to lockdown again,” the sergeant explained. "Ask those who are guarding and assisting the medics to stay if they can."
The small group of elites nodded before splitting themselves into the various tasks. They efficient, their experience allowing each to handle problems with smooth ease. There was a pause as Kaitlynn glanced over the people, now being organized to hand out the remaining awards and diplomas. Once everything would be handed out, the sergeant wished to escort everybody to their homes before the Assembly of Phantoms could rally their forces for another attack. She paused to overwatch the occurrences, the speakers dropping their long-winded speeches and opting for quick handouts punctuated with thank-yous. The angel walked away, allowing the elites to handle the oversight of the process; she could trust their capable hands. The brunette wandered down the hallways, going to the back exit to check on the pair of guards.
"Anything come this way?" She inquired after she approached.
The pair were standing straight as they glanced towards Kaitlynn before shaking their heads. They provided a brief synapsis of what occurred near the back entrance, stating there was hardly any terror activity with the acception of some which strayed from the primary attack. The angel nodded, softly touching her chin with her gauntleted hand in thought before allowing a small grin to touch her lips.
"Try to keep it that way, if anything changes, let me know. Once everything inside is finished, we can file the citizens out through the back and work towards getting them home. It would be safer," Kaitlynn explained before turning away to head inside.
The front stairs were broken because of Sonya being slammed into them by a brute, thus the back exit appeared to be the safer area for everybody to file out from. The brunette returned to the main room, her purple eyes surveying the area to notice everything functioning smoothly. A majority of the graduating students assisting the medics were allowed to return to the crowd as more injured were treated for their wounds. The elite hunters watched carefully while some patrolled the small room, making certain disguisers did not lurk amidst the crowd. Finally, the angel's eyes fixated on where the injured were located, discovering the exotic woman's absence. A frown touched her lips as she walked through, softly grabbing somebody's elbow to inquire about Sonya, which they pointed to the front exit.
With a small nod, Kaitlynn walked down the short hallway, exiting through the doors where she saw some hunters reporting back and her beloved Sonya. There was a gentle sigh which escaped her lips as she carefully walked closer, slowly moving around the damaged area in the stairs and avoiding rubble.
"You okay?" The angel asked as she drew closer.
After a few moments, Kaitlynn's hand reached out to touch Sonya's shoulder. There was concern evident on the angel's expression as she glanced towards her girlfriend. While she was still displeased with the exotic woman's reckless nature, her concern from the deep affection she held conquered feelings of anger towards her attitude.
