Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

A few more mentions of Kaylie being reassured a good time with the children, and now both she and him are invested in the books they are reading right now. Kaylie nodded silently and turned to her book as Tobias told her that he would definitely pick out the mystery book first. "Well, its your choice." She muttered to herself with a small smile, before turning to the book. "You have a good time there."
[break][break]The book she had picked out was one of the most classic tales out there; "Moby Dick". The vivid descriptions of the whale and its capture had always captivated her, in a way. Well, all books always enchanted her. The only problem she would ever have with books were the wrong grammars and spellings that may be contained in there, as well as a lack of plot and interesting characters.
[break][break]She secretly flitted her eyes over to Tobias and she sighed mentally.
[break][break]I wonder if he's really interested in reading books with me?
[break][break]Hey, there was nothing wrong with questioning herself. As a pessimistic person she had always wondered if the people around her really enjoyed being with her at all times. Sometimes she would always feel like they were only pretending to be having a good time, while she knew they secretly wanted her to stay out of the way. Kaylie's eyes furrowed sadly before she focused on the book again. Eh, whatever. So long as he's having a good time in the library, then it would be fine.
[break][break]But...
[break][break]...No. Don't disturb him with your pessimistic side.
[break][break]Just keep reading.
[attr="class","boxo-notes"]I'm so sorry for being late!
a yawn escaped his lips as he continued to read. he had to make sure to stop at after a few chapters. the last thing he needed was to stay here past open hours. how embarrassing would it be to told to leave. also there was one more thing he wanted to check out before he would head home. he flipped the page and continued with the story. he almost didn't hear her speaking to him."oh yes, im already two chapters in."he chuckled.
after that it was silence. nothing could be heard but the flipping of pages. he ran his fingers through his hair. he looked up and smiled at her."sorry to interrupt. it just occurred to me, but uh, do you have a book club?"
Already two chapters in, huh... Kaylie couldn't help but smile at that. "Wow. Fast reader you are, then." She commented with a chuckle, before turning to her book again. Truth be told, she was almost about to finish Chapter 2, but unfortunately got distracted by her thoughts. She sighed and turned a page. Never gonna do that again.
[break][break]Then Tobias asked whether or not they have a book club, with Kaylie humming in acknowledgement. Zoraya never told her about book clubs before... if so, the answer to this should be a 'no'. "Unfortunately, we don't have a book club here," She replied, her eyes still glued to the book, though she was acknowledging Tobi's presence. "Me and the head librarian wanted to form a club last year, but no one bothered to join, so we didn't continue the plan."
he chuckled softly at her words."no, not really. they were short chapters."he told her with a smile. he read a couple of more pages. hoping he wasn't distracting her with all her talk. when ideas popped into his head he had to say them otherwise he'd forget. he never had time to read books while he was in school. well books he wanted. he was busy reading textbooks and notes. he loved reading, but it seemed like he never had time. he hoped maybe joining a club it would get him back into the habit. he nodded at her words. it didn't seem like there was much of an interest."well it's a new year. i'd be interested in joining if you ladies ever decided to try again."he told her with a nod.
he looked at the time and figured it was time to go. he had promised to zac he would watch over alice later today."before i forget. i'll need to check out these books."he told her as he stood up."i enjoyed reading with you. so even if there isn't an offical book club i'll just come back and read here."he told her with a shy smile.
"Short chapters, huh?" She smiled and tilted her head, then folded the page of the book she was reading. "I usually read books with really long pages and words, so I guess it's safe to say that I'm still in chapter 2 in this book." She stated, waving the closed book with a chuckle.
[break][break]He then told her that he would join the book club if they ever attempted it again. "That would be great. If we ever attempt it again." She shrugged and stood up from the table, grabbing the stack of books on the table. "I do hope Zory wouldn't give up on the book clubs, though. I'd love to have even a few people to discuss books with, and that includes you if you get to join."
[break][break]Tobi's next statement seemed like he should be going right now, but before that he should be checking the books he borrowed. Kaylie nodded and smirked. "Sure thing. Follow me, sir." She said with a wink, walking up to the cashier and setting the books on there first.
[break][break]Kaylie walked up to the counter and grabbed a check-out paper, then stared at Tobias with a sincere look on her face. "It was fun reading with you today," She said, repeating what he had said a while earlier. Besides, she would have said the same to him. "I hope you come back here sooner."
[attr="class","boxo-notes"]Two more posts and then exit?
tobias simple shrugged."you make it sound like im super suspicious."he said with a chuckle."i promise im reading and not just skimming."he told her with a nod. it all depended on the writer. sometimes they would write paragraphs after paragraphs and then there would be one word on the next page. okay maybe he was exaggerating about the one word. chapter lengths did very from author to author.
he smiled at her."well im pretty patient. so if you ever do please let me know."after getting a few books recommended he had simply sat down to read with her. he had completely forgotten about the library card he had just signed and that she had laminated. without a second thought he followed her to the front desk. he placed his books and his library card down.
the last thing he wanted to do was walk out without ever of checked out his books. he smiled at her words."thank you for recommending some good books."he told her as he took them back. he put his library card back into his wallet."i usually have more spare time in the summer. i mean, im already on chapter two. so it shouldn't take me too long to come back to see you....i mean, to get new books."he couldn't believe he had let that slip. he could already feel his cheeks burning.
Kaylie simply nodded with a smile to Tobi, admiring how dedicated he was about the book clubs. If he wants to join them, then that's settled. She could talk this out with Zoraya later. Kaylie was pretty sure that girl would agree, even if she made it firm that she wouldn't be doing this again.
[break][break]Arriving at the counter, Kaylie went behind and sat on the swivel chair and turned to his library card. Before anything else was done, though, Tobi started speaking again, and that made Kaylie feel a little better. "Haha... you're welcome." She stated, taking the library card from his hand and starting to check out the books they had been reading together earlier.
[break][break]Then came his next statement, and she could feel her face heating up, turning red. What did he just say? Kaylie scratched her cheek and chuckled nervously, sliding the library card once she was finished checking out. "Ehehe... Uhmmm..." Right now, she didn't know what to say, but some words were starting to form in her mouth. She sighed deeply, and with her cheeks still painted red, she grinned at the young man. "C-Come back soon, then. I can't wait."
[break][break]Then, it was all finished. The clock struck 5 p.m., signalling the closing of the library. Kaylie chuckled once more and stood up from the chair, then walked out of the counter towards him. "S-So... see you...?"
[attr="class","boxo-notes"]Don't. Don't... make me ship them. These two. They're so... just
tobias cheeks were still a hue of red. he couldn't believe that had slipped out. he was glad she didn't ask him what the was all about. he had only spent a couple of hours with her. she was nice, a lovely person to talk to. he stopped himself and shook those thoughts away. what had he done. this thoughts were still racing."oh thank you."he manged to speak, well it was more of a quick mutter of thanks. as he retrieved his books and made his way towards the door.
"see ya later."he told her with a nod. he almost ran into the door as he tried to make his escape. he's such a dork. he at least wished he could of made a smooth exit. it was time to head home..that was enough excitement for one day.
Well, that was settled with. Admittedly, she had a fun time with this guy today. Tobias never failed in entertaining her, even if the only thing they ever did was read the various books Kaylie had randomly chosen from the library's shelves. To be honest, she was excited for the next school year to come by. She hoped he'd fulfill his promise once that year comes; taking the kids to the library and seeing him again--
[break][break]...Wait... what.
[break][break]Was she just thinking about him right now?
[break][break]The white-haired girl inwardly shook her head and stared at the young man. Kaylie giggled as she watched him stuble by the door before finally going out. Such a dork... She thought with a blush. She then looked around the library and smiled. All was neat and people were no where to be found. It was getting dark; she had to go home herself.
[break][break]Quickly grabbing her things and hurrying over the door, she flipped the entrance-exit card and locked the door to the library. Then, turning to Tobi, she waved at him with a blush before making her way to the opposite street.
[break][break]Today has been quite the eventful day.
