Ecco Kokkinos tell me reality is better than a dream. general info
appearance Ecco is very small, actually, the size of a bat. Ecco’s genes have given him an almost identical appearance of his kintype, for better or for worse. Of course, being a wylderborne means he walks on two legs when he does walk. Being that he’d normally fly to get around though, he could be easily mistaken especially from a distance. Ecco has large fluffy ears which others often find cute much to his displeasure. His inner-ears are a subtle salmon hue along with his nose. Being albino, his eyes are a light pink color as well. His hands and feet are furless, revealing peachy skin that much resembles that of a human. Though the bat has hands with opposable thumbs, they are hard to use being attached to his wings which more than often get in the way. He is also too small to use electronics such as phones easily. Overall his small size appears to be a disadvantage, but it has its advantages too. personality
Ecco (pronounced Eco) hates his name, preferring to go by Echo. Though similar, Echo has a better ring to it in his opinion and suits him better. After all, he is like an Echo, relaying any information he collects that may be useful to the higher-ups. Being a fur-ball full of energy, Ecco likes to move, dance, fly, do tricks in the air, whatever gets his heart pumping. He is always liking to be on the move and has a hard time being still which often gets in the way of his job. Luckily, this is where his small size and appearance as a normal bat comes to his advantage. He can very easily hide and go unnoticed. The shadows of the night which he typically works under also seem to play on his team. Being a nocturnal creature, he prefers not to be awake during the day. That being said, if he really has to for whatever reason, he will, but he will dread every second of it. At first glance, Ecco may seem big-headed. More often than not the bat is underestimated due to his small size. This had led him to push back against the conception and show off what he can really do, where he can anyway. Though he may display a large enough ego, it is mostly a false facade. He doesn’t really have a lot of confidence in himself even as he may pretend to. As a matter of fact, he is very insecure, not only because of his small size but due to his lack of physical strength that is typically found in his species. He may be a good deal stronger than a normal bat, but that doesn’t mean much when compared to something like a bear, or even a fox. The Wylderborne chooses to cling to what he does have, however, and that is speed. He takes great pride in how fast he can fly, often challenging others to races, particularly other flying creatures. In this area, Ecco can get quite competitive, possibly due to believing he lacks in a lot of other areas. Due to his false facade of overconfidence, Ecco can have trouble making friends. In addition, some may have a hard time finding such a small creature a necessary ally. Those who choose to stick around, however, will find that despite his cocky nature, Ecco is actually a kind and loyal soul. He will stick by what he believes in, and stick by whatever friends he’s managed to make, even through their darkest hours. Being born a wylderborne, Ecco has a natural connection to the wild. He’s even made his home there, in the trunk of a tree that must have been an owl nest years ago. Of course, the bat still cannot live without modern conveniences brought about by society, holding onto things like a small fan for when it gets hot in the summer and a small heater to get through the freezing temperatures of the winter, a fuzzy rug, a pillow to sleep on, etc. Nature makes him feel comfortable, meanwhile, society seems a bit much. The hustle and bustle of human life is not really the bats’ speed. Maybe its because many modern conveniences were not made for a small creature like him, but either way, human life has always come off as a bit intimidating. One thing he does appreciate, however, is how easy it is to get food. A simple trip to the grocery store is all he needs to get by nutrition-wise. If he were completely wild, he’d have to forage, which would be quite annoying, not that he couldn’t accomplish it. When it comes down to it, however, he much prefers the ease of the grocery store. All and all, while society may not be his taste, he is still thankful for whatever conveniences it does bring, and it is something he is willing to live with. abilities Enhanced senses: Stemming from his bat roots, Ecco has senses which surpass that of a human. The exception to this is eye sight, which, contrary to popular belief bats do not have bad eyesight. Eccos eyesight is on par with a normal humans but does not surpass such. His hearing is particularly acute, making him very sensitive to loud noises. Enhanced strength: When compared to his small size, Ecco actually had incredible strength. That being said, he realistically is not as strong as creatures bigger than him such as humans. He is particularly strong in his wings, which does not help with heavy lifting, but does help with flight, being able to move at speeds 250mph when in the air. That being said, Ecco is very reliant on his wings, and should he injure them he would be left practically defenseless. Echolocation: As a bat, Ecco is able to use echolocation, which is typically how he gets around, especially considering his eyesight isn't very good in the dark. Ritual magic: While Ecco technically has access to ritual magic, he hasn't had the chance to practice with it, not is he even aware if this ability. Also being wylderborne, his connection to it is more limited than his wyldermen cousins. With all this being said, Ecco is unlikely to use ritual magic, and should he try he would most likely fail at it without proper practice. backstory Ecco does not know his family, where he was born, or why he was separated from them so young. His earliest memories were of being kept as a ‘pet’ in a large and luxurious mansion, belonging to a high ranking member of the assembly of phantoms. His captor had trold him he had found him injured as a young infant and saved him, but whether or not this story is true, Ecco has yet to find out, and probaby never will. Growing up Ecco was always told he was small, defensless, and would never amount to anything society deemed useful. Perhaps this was a ploy to make sure the bat didn’t try to escape. Being so small and quick, it probably would have been easy for Ecco to find an exit, make an escape, and never look back. Though what was the point when he was too small to take on the outside world? This was the only life he’d ever known, and at least here, he had his needs taken care of. Despite being told he would never amount to anything, his captor seemed to change his mind as time went on. The bat would be useful yet, easly being able to get around unnoticed, he decided use him to get info on some colleagues he didn’t particularly like. However, as soon as the wylderkin got a taste of freedom, he’d turn his back and never return. While Ecco would have doubts being that life in the mansion was comfortable and easy, nature called to him. Something in his blood told he he didn’t belong indoors, and so, he’d decide to leave behind the life he had known in search for something greater. In his travels that wylderkin would end up in Lorsette. While he had grown accustomed to the wild, society was still intimidating, and something he felt he would never properly fit into. That being said, he knew he had qualities that did give him an advantage in some areas, ones he’d decide to cling to. Flying around the city he’d easily be able to pick up on gossip and would share the information he gathered; for a price. Though he didn’t get much in the way of money this way, he mostly lived in the wild, and it was enough for some treats here and there as well as a few basic necessities. During his time Ecco would learn a lot. While he knew of the assembly he originally came from, he wasn’t aware of their purpose and what they actually did. Learning such information left a bad taste in his mouth and eventually he felt a pull to do something against them, in vengeance for keeping him captive for so long, and for the horrible things they stood for. He’d eventually join the terror response syndicate and train to be a scout, something the small bat would excel in, easily being able to collect information without being noticed and relay it to his higher ups. misc Have some random facts about your character you want to share?
