Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Summer always led to days brimming with heat, the sunshine gifting Lorsette with plenty of glorious days. The softest hint of an embracing breeze warded the warmth enough to provide pleasant comfort. The outside world was primed to perfection for Elliott Fleming's enjoyment. Through the years, he exhibited an innate enjoyment of warm days. The manner the sunlight's heat embraced him being as familiar as a friend's hold. Thus with a holiday from work, the summer's day was bound to lead the sandman out of his home and into the wondrous sensation of warmth.
[break][break]
Down the sidewalks, Elliott wandered, a single goal taking front stage in his mind. During the late spring days, blogs and news posted reviews that mentioned the opening of a milkshake parlour nearby Starlight Beach. The compliments given to the small parlour suggested plenty of varying flavours alongside a pleasant chill to relieve the heat. Additionally, the walk granted Elliott personal time, a concept everybody required on occasion. The opportunity existed and the green-haired sandman craved the chance to use it.
[break][break]
Merrily, Elliott waltz through the summer heat, a soft grin playing across his countenance. The simple notion of purchasing a milkshake easily managed to raise the sandman's spirits. There was pleasant haste to his steps as he admired the heat against his skin. Every step carried him closer to Starlight Beach, however, people began surrounding the young man. In summer, Starlight Beach became a popular location for both tourists and locals. The heat prompted people to escape the constricting warmth of home and escape into the colder waters of the ocean.
[break][break]
In silence, the green-haired man weaved through the crowds, carefully avoiding others. The attire he wore was well-suited for the occasion with Elliott sporting a simple pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Additionally, his hair was tightly pinned up into a bun, keeping the locks away from his neck to avoid excess heat. The man's amber eyes flitted about curiously, searching for the familiar sign shown in pictures of the parlour. As he noticed the small building, Elliott stood for a moment, admiring the adorable little building covered in windows before entering.
[break][break]
Inside, there was a surprisingly limited amount of people. Many had already fetched their icy beverages and were happily sipping away. The cleared-out parlour warranted Elliott the opportunity to approach and hastily exchange funds for his favoured drink. He quickly handed over the required money and ordered a classic chocolate milkshake. Once provided his drink, Elliott gave a happy thanks before turning on heel to retreat out the door. As he pushed open the threshold, Elliott took a sip of the ice cream beverage, smiling around his straw as the sweetness panged against his tongue.
[break][break]
Upon leaving the parlour, Elliott glanced around, contemplating the remainder of the day. The man began walking away from the milkshake parlour, drink in hand and eyes glancing around. The beach scene was a comfortable area and while the green-haired man neglected to bring a swimsuit, a walk around the beach seemed pleasant. Thus, the court secretary lingered around the parlour, slowly walking around Starlight Beach and enjoying the heat.

where is your good when all i see is your inner darkness
Ah yes, it was an exciting day for sure. Even if nothing too special was happening, a milkshake would always make the kitsune smile. He preferred the sweet fruity flavors the most. Typically, he’d just get strawberry, but he wanted to try something new this time. Perhaps he’d get one of the signature flavors, something with a bit more pizzazz.
While standing in the surprisingly short line, Eon would eye down the menu. What looked good… hmmm… Strawberry cheesecake? Nah, that was too close to what he usually got. Peach? Hmm… Maybe…. But something else had caught his eye. Fruity pebbles, made with vanilla ice cream and blended with the sweet fruity cereal. That sounded quite delicious actually. With that, he had made up his mind.
Eon would step up to the counter, imagining the taste of the cold drink in his mouth as he waited. He’d order what he wanted, hand them some money, and finally, he’d receive the shake. Gently, he’d sip the drink through the neon pink straw they had given him. The creamy yet fruit-filled taste was just as satisfying as he’d imagine. Though, as per usual, his human form annoyed him. This surely could not be a perfect experience if taking this form? Sure, he was used to taking it, he had to for work, and most of the time when he was out in public, but today was his day off and he was determined to make it a good one. It would just be kind of hard to drink a milkshake as a fox…
Eon would make his way through a small crowd over to an empty table and sit down. He’d sip his shake for a moment, thinking to himself. He decided for the heck of it, he’d to transform then and there, in front of everyone. Sure it would bring attention to him, but he didn’t really mind. He enjoyed the attention. It was better to stand out than to blend in, in his opinion… but now, drinking the shake would be hard. He’d attempt to do so through the straw, but, it didn’t really work. Perhaps removing the cover and licking it would be best.
As he attempted to do so, Eon would accidentally knock his shake over. The vanilla ice cream poured across the table and onto the floor. “Dammit, well that was a bust!” he’d say to himself with a slight sigh. Now he’d have to pick it up. After all, it would be kind of rude to leave it for the workers to clean. He knew the struggles of working in a place like this, working in a cafe himself. He didn’t want to put the burden on the workers for his own stupid actions.
With a grunt, Eon would transform back into a human to go grab some napkins.
Sweet, cold milkshake poured heavily over Elliott's tongue with every sip of the delectable drink. The frosty drink summoned a smile across the green-haired sandman's face as he released the straw. Inside his dull brown eyes were shining flecks of contentment from a successful milkshake mission. His gaze drew across the scenery, admiring the pale sands and listening to the background noise of laughing people. The green-haired man's steps paused, smiling at the people around him as his eyes proceeded to wander about.
[break][break]
Gradually, his gaze accomplished a full circle, returning to the beachside parlour. A quick sweep was accomplished of the line of like-minded patrons purchasing and consuming milkshakes. A simple glance transformed into surprise conquering Elliott's expression. The front of the line had been occupied by a man with a unique colouring of hair who promptly transformed into a galaxy-coated kitsune. Never had the green-haired secretary met a creature with a unique pelt that was not of luciae descendants.
[break][break]
The young man never meant to conduct some staring, however, the gorgeous colouring of the stranger's pelt was impressive. Alas, only moments into his staring would tragedy strike. The kitsune had settled himself at a table to lap up the contents of his milkshake, only to have the cup topple. Frosty and smooth vanilla milkshake poured over the ground, table and seat, leaving an impressive mess. The sandman's hand covered his mouth, astonished by the minor incident. In meagre moments, Elliott moved, heading to a cleared dispenser and grabbing some napkins.
[break][break]
Admittedly, the secretary felt bad for the kitsune's loss given the heat of the summer afternoon. A pleasant drink to cool oneself was well-needed on an intensely hot day. Though, part of him additionally wished for the chance to spend his afternoon genuinely accomplishing something. He merely planned on wandering the beach, thus, lending a hand was considered a small time-waster. As the man turned to grab his own, the green-haired sandperson stepped before him, hand extended with white tissues pinched between his fingers.
[break][break]
"Um... if you want I can help you clean it... I saw what happened," the green-haired man frowned. "It's so hot today, so it really sucks that happened."
[break][break]
He offered the stranger a small smile, hoping to ease any frustrations over the sudden spill. While he possessed no plans on replacing the spilled product, a little assistance in the clean-up department. The sandperson was hopeful it would assist in brightening the kitsune's day at least slightly. Unfortunately, beneath the eyes of another, Elliott felt nervousness rippling through his heart. While amiable in action, Elliott was timid in response, struggling to maintain eye contact in the upkeep of conversation or offering of assistance.

where is your good when all i see is your inner darkness
'Well this is just great, wonder how many people saw that?' Eon thought to himself, giving a small huff in annoyance. His eyes would lift, only to be met with a pair of dull brown eyes opposing his own. He would glance back down to see the tissues held between the man’s fingers, noting them as he spoke.
"Oh, you saw that?" The kitsune could not help but laugh out of embarrassment. Oh well, this wouldn't be ge first time he'd act that stupid in front of a crowd. He had a habit if it, actually.
"Well, thanks for the offer but I got it" his eyes would wander back over to the spill, noting how it had splashed down onto the chair and onto the parlor floor. "I think, anyway" Hed chuckle one more.
"Though those tissues would be helpful" he'd add noticing he didn't have any on him at the time. If it wasn't for this stranger offering to help, he'd have to go back to the counter and ask for some. Despite the not-so-great luck that the spill happened in the first place, he supposed he should just be grateful someone had offered to help and had tissues on them.
"Thanks" he'd add again, grabbing the tissues. A cheeky smile would pierce his lips before he'd turn around to start wiping up the spill, starting with what was on the table.
As to be expected they were not very thick and the liquid would bleed through as he wiped. Though the sticky substance sure tasted good, the kitsune didn't appreciate it on his hands one bit. His smile was overtaken by disgust though he remained quiet, trying not to say anything. Despite the fact he usually liked attention, perhaps this wasn't the best circumstance for it.
Eon looked back over at the green-haired man who had approached him. "And if you um… want to help I won't stop you." Eon would add, being that he would actually appreciate a little help to get the job done faster… so he could go wash his hands… and transform back into a fox.
Awkward in practice, Elliott was not the most advanced in conversation, however, he, fortunately, learned to be serviceable in the art. When the kitsune’s eyes greeted him, there was a faltering to his gaze resulting from his inner timidness. Nonetheless, he continued with a small, contented nod at the simple question. There was neither rudeness nor malice behind the nod, merely a wish to confirm the sights that beheld his eyes. The stranger exhibited visible embarrassment over the situation that played out in front of many.
[break][break]
The mentioning of handling the situation brought Elliott's eyes wayward, gazing past the man at the spilling milkshake. He could already imagine the stickiness of the mess spreading across the table and shortly joining the seat. Every droplet only made the kitsune's circumstance of cleaning worse, the stickiness likely requiring a spray down rather than a mere wipe up. Fortunately, the parlour in its intelligence had invested in what appeared to be plastic picnic tables. Thus a simple run of cloth over the sticky surfaces would remove their uncleanly state.
[break][break]
The sandman handed over the tissues captured in his fingers. Without hesitation, the green-haired man handed over the few tissues he had.
[break][break]
"No problem," Elliott quietly responded.
[break][break]
The beginnings of the cleaning the proving difficult because of the stickiness and somewhat thick liquid. The sandman's eyes softened as he watched, feeling bad for the lack of sufficient materials he gave. Though, as the stranger's attention returned to him, help was requested.
[break][break]
"Yeah, maybe I will ask the booth if they have a cloth... and maybe some more napkins," the green-haired man said.
[break][break]
Shortly afterwards, the green-haired man quietly retreated from the table, heading towards the booth. The line was gradually thinning out, thus, Elliott reaching the booth counter became easier. Upon reaching the front of the line, the sandman asked for the cloth and a few napkins. The worker quickly handed over everything, stating their wishes for the cloth back. Hastily, the green-haired man returned to the dark-haired stranger.
[break][break]
"I got everything, this should make it easier, or at least I hope," Elliott stated, offering the napkins and cloth.
[break][break]
The cloth was damp and held in a separate hand, the water dribbling down onto the green-haired man's fingers. The waterdrops tickled his skin, however, never travelled far from the cloth over his hand. Meanwhile, the napkins were tidily pinched between his fingers.
[break][break]
"Do you want the napkins or the cloth? One of us can clean and the other can scrub," he offered.
[break][break]
The plan was simple, one of them using the napkins to cut through the milkshake and the cloth to remove the remnants of stickiness and milkshake. While the large mess would take some time to clean, Elliott was optimistic that they would manage their way through.

where is your good when all i see is your inner darkness
Eons' azure gaze would catch the others' as he offered to go grab a cloth from the booth. He'd flash a slight smile upon his face to show his approval, though only momentarily before his lips parted to answer. "That's probably a good idea" he'd say, and soon the green-haired man would take off towards where the milkshakes were being sold.
Though he hated every swipe, Eon would do what he could to continue cleaning until the other came back with more napkins and a wet cloth. With a slight nod of his head, the kitsune would answer the others' question.
"Personally, I'd prefer the cloth… but whatever you want to do I'm fine with." Eon would answer. He'd much rather have the thick fabric to protect his hands from the sticky substance that had poured across the table. On the other hand, it was his own mess and his own responsibility to clean up. He was grateful the other was here to help at all, no matter which one he'd choose.
The thick milkshake dribbled from the table, ice cream making a large glob atop the table. A frown played over Elliott's face as he gazed over the volume of the mess. Cleaning the sticky catastrophe would be easy, however, the stranger's drink was long sacrificed for the manifested mess; it was hardly worthwhile. The flash of a smile from the dark-haired stranger prompted Elliott to return the gift. A soft grin touched his face, the warmth reaching his dull-brown eyes. The young man seemed nice, the green-haired man enjoying his time in his company.
[break][break]
The sandman offered everything, from the dampened cloth to the handful of napkins captured between his fingers. When the man stated his preference, Elliott offered the cloth. Unlike the stranger, the green-haired man's milkshake remained intact, thus, he hoped to spread cheer despite the misfortune. Once his hand was freed, Elliott adjusted the napkins in his hands before moving closer to the mess. Carefully, Elliott plucked the remaining, sticky, icy chunks from the table, placing it into his offhand, which had a second napkin draped over.
[break][break]
"I'll try and get the thicker stuff, then you should only have to wipe it up," the green-haired man stated. "I hope that makes it easier."
[break][break]
Once he gathered a reasonable amount of the sticky substance, Elliott hurried to the trashcan. The milkshake-covered napkins were tossed amidst the trash, the sticky residue coating his delicate hands. The stickiness was felt as he flexed his fingers, leaving a small frown. Fortunately, the green-haired man shook it off, returning to the stranger while carefully avoiding touching his clothes.
