appearance Five foot five even, and very light, slim, and almost borderline malnourished seeming, Nari isn’t that impressive or eye catching. Sloppy spikes of orange russet hair layer precariously over his head, dark blue eyes often dark and trying to keep his emotions from being read like an open book. Nari tends to pay no heed to the whims of fashion, merely putting together a comfortable set of clothing and throwing it on. Never seen without a pair of headphones and his ipod. Nari’s fox form mirrors how he looks as a person. Slim, with burnished, bright auburn-orange fur, pale violet eyes, black legs, ears, and paws, and a white underbelly and throat. personality Nari to most is someone very private, someone with skyscraper-seeming mental and emotional walls that keep everyone at a distance. While he is careful to maintain this seeming distance, Nari is someone who feels very deeply inherently. Rife with trust issues and cautious, hesitant behaviour, unfortunately necessary to have been developed due to circumstances in his past. Naturally empathetic, it is because of an inherent likelihood to bond to those he lets close quite deeply that he continues to maintain the walls that must be slowly conquered. Hexes: Beginner. backstory Born to a pair of fanatical parents that had been won over by the tales of a false priestess, Nari from the beginning was a child forced into an uncomfortable situation where he was often in a blinding spotlight. The members of this group believed in a fatalistic doomsday event - where the “perfect” leaders would arise from full-blooded bloodlines for several different species as the new gods. Nari, even as a very young child in his formative years was referred to as the reincarnation of some kitsune god come to guide them to be able to survive in a believed to be fading world. Despite being raised by their words and teachings, Nari never truly became passionate or believed in such a belief or upcoming event, more often than not feeling anxious and crushed beneath the constant expectations and lofty goals of those who were around him at all times. While he was praised and those around him were keen to pay him attention - it mostly felt hollow and less like genuine care and more like they were waiting for his rise to power and to do something - and everything with amazing skill and natural prowess. Wearing his nerves and stability thin - he would seize any meager time alone to listen to music or appreciate art from painting to graffiti, finding a desire to sing and create with his own volition. Eventually, Nari began to be put under a microscope, playing like a puppet to their whims to avoid arousing their suspicions or disappointment. He was eventually expected to accept an arranged partnership with a young hellhound that had also been raised and born into the group, the two naturally hitting it off. The two spent more and more time together - Nari eventually opening up, and they began dating. However, just when Nari really started to fall for the other male, the problems started to arise. Demanding, abusive and possessive, Nari either willingly would do or give the other things or they were taken from him. Backtalk was rewarded with slaps, rough hands dragging him by the wrists, or harsh shoves, words poisoning the opinions and views of the others in the community to believe Nari was dissenting. One of the things most often punished was when Nari was caught singing to himself - as the show of independence and individuality was not to be allowed. After that, Nari scrapped his dreams and began merely doing as he was told - on the surface level.
