in a loveless world
i came out stronger, smarter and braver than you.
[attr="class","kendrictalker"]Rain drummed against glass windows, dancing alongside the wind outside. Darkened clouds long consumed the setting skies above, casting the world below into shadows. Despite the arrival of rain, Kendric tried the cooler temperatures and soaking rain. If anything, the water tiefling discovered a sense of homeliness wandering through the cold embrace of rain. Water was a comfort for the young man because of his element's influence. Through the downpour he wandered, an unhindered soul surrounded by those scurrying to the closest hiding place.
As he marched along the sidewalks alone, his golden eyes wandered. Every second they flitted over the various business signs available across the downtown area. Inside, his stomach stirred in hunger, a reminder of his requirement to eat. Softly, a sigh breathed through his lips as his mind shifted gears. The man planned on gathering information for the evening, but with an empty stomach, focus would be futile. Though, with any ounce of hope he could gather something from the staff of whichever restaurant he chose.
For years, Kendric Tay operated as an info broker. He would gather what his clients wanted and sell it for some money. Though at times he would gather without the looming need of promised funds; having additional intel never harmed him. The man's eyes locked upon a diner sign, his stomach grumbling at the cuisine inside. The man strode to the door, heading into the diner long after the supper rush. There were little to no patrons inside during the last hour of service before everything closed. Before anything else, the man used his water manipulation, drying his clothes and leaving the water outside.
In moments, his clothes were dried from the use of his water manipulation. Despite his love for the element, Kendric knew others would not appreciate water being tracked in. Puddles inside a building were obnoxious, especially given how close the diner was getting to closing time. Quietly, Kendric walked into the small establishment, finding himself a table. The scents of food filled Kendric's nostrils as he leaned back in the chair. His stomach rumbled, reminding the young man of his existent hunger. He was beyond excited to have anything, even if the circumstance involved him having a limited menu because of the closing hours.
Vague thoughts of things he wished to gain additional information for cycled through his mind. There were a few interesting crimes in the outskirts of the Lorsette. From murders, to thievery and Assembly of Phantoms activity, the man knew he required some vague leads should they come back. As he waited for the arrival of the waiter, Kendric's eyes flitted over the scenery of the establish. There were pictures across the walls alongside a few choice items as most diners would gleefully adorn. The man's golden eyes maintained a curious gleam as he glanced around, admiring everything as he waited patiently and his stomach complained.
