Zoe Moore Secrets are meant to be shared! general info
appearance Zoe stands at five foot five inches. She has shoulder length hair that she likes to dye sometimes. It is currently a dark black that sometimes looks to be purple. She has a mole on the left side of her chin, and an overall average build. She is very regularly distracted, and keeps strange hours, leading her to often have bags under her eyes. A general lack of care about her appearance means she often seems somewhat disheveled. personality
abilities Gifted: Correct Sense (Strong): Zoe has an innate sense of when she is correct. When she first got the power, she had to state things aloud for the power to work. Since then, she has developed the ability to do it entirely mentally, although she still likes doing it verbally more. The power has limits. There is no "level" of correctness. If something is not 100% correct, then there is no indication of any sort. Furthermore, it can only gather information that people know. For example, she could not figure out the unifying theory of physics by trial and error because no being on the planet knows it. Furthermore, the gods and some other beings appear to be immune, though she cannot confirm this with her power, due to the possibility of the immunity. Zeredah is one of those other beings, much to Zoe's annoyance. Electronic Communication Manipulation (Strong) Zoe has a limited form of technomancy. If she is directly in contact with an electronic device, she can perceive, process, analyze, understand, and manipulate the electromagnetic signals running through it in real time. She can also interact with signals nearby her, but not in an "editing" fashion. For example, to cause a glitch in an electronic device, she has to be directly in contact with it. However, to understand communications going through a wire, she only has to be within a few feet of it. She can add new signals to wires if she is within a few inches of it, though she cannot alter signals already in the wire without direct contact with it. This more restrictive application of the power extends to wireless signals as well, including radio, infrared, and other forms of electromagnetic wireless communication. She cannot alter data being sent "over the air", but she can receive it, parse it, and send out her own. This allows things like placing a phone call without her needing to have a phone, so long as she is inside a celluar network (and understands the protocol to connect to the network, such as emulating a sim card). While her power gives her the ability to parse data, she still needs at least a vague understanding of how the things work to put it all together. Masterful Multitasking (Weak) Zoe can perform multiple tasks at the same time with the same ability that most people can perform one task at a time. backstory You could ask for a worse childhood. Hell, by most measures, Zoe lived pretty well. Rich parents (not stinking rich inheritance level parents, but two doctors), an older brother she had a GOOD relationship with, always had a pet around, family meals and family time... Zoe developing her first power was not a good day for her family life. Those strange looks... she could finally make sense of them. Her father had cheated. Her mother found out. ...And her mother had cheated, too, but she never told her husband. He was sorry, he knew it was a mistake, which is why he had told her. Or rather... he was going to tell her, if she had not already found out. It was an entire clusterfuck, and her older brother was caught in the middle of it. They got angry at him instead of each other. While Zoe was out, her brother was being berated. He was the top of his class, and had a basketball scholarship lined up. But nobody can take that sort of abuse, and he floundered, and failed. Zoe wanted to help, but she knew that if she tried... she would be their next target. She kept telling herself "he can take it, he gets out of the house soon, he'll be OK until then". One night, as she laid in bed, she asked herself a question. One that had become a part of her routine. And... she got an answer she did not want. In a panic, she came up with what she hoped was a solution. She hastily wrote a letter to her brother, and another to her parents. She asked him to read the letter tomorrow morning, and not a second sooner, while she left the other letter on the kitchen island. She wanted to take her parent's hatred off of her brother, and onto herself. And as she guessed, her brother did not wait to open the letter. But it was too late, she had already left, with little more than a backpack of clothes and some trail mix, and the handful of bills she had stolen from her dad's wallet. But life on the run is hard for a 16 year old. It is a lot easier if, like Zoe, you know when you are correct, but she had not had enough time to develop methods yet. No tricky ways of determining answers easier, no binary searches, no dictionary shortcuts, none of that. She ended up in a bad way, very jaded about the state of the world. She joined up with the Assembly of Phantoms. She mostly did small time work for them. She was cocky, egotistical. In some ways, that was fair. She was always right, after all. ...Ok not really, and that was made abundantly clear to her when a bank heist went awry. Truthfully, stealing money was just a cover. They were actually there to steal a bunch of bank account information. Zoe... got too involved. The mission was... mostly a success, but it caused her to look back on her life. In the three years since she had run away, she was now a figure. She had a name for herself. Kind of. Not her actual name, more so an imagined enigma. Nobody really figured out exactly what her power was, except for those she told. But... People knew about her, even if they did not know about her Zoe disappeared later that week. She left behind all her previous work, and took only a few clothes, and some of her... she did not want to call it blood money, but that is absolutely what it was. There had been blood spilled at the bank heist. Mostly from her once-upon-a-time companion, but still. People had been hurt. It was two years before Zoe decided to return to Lorsette. She was different, not only in mind, but in ability. While she had never truly left the game, now she was playing both sides, and playing from the background. Hijacking other people's cellular connections to dig up dirty secrets, selling them to the highest bidder. She was back, and she was ready to play. Safely. From the coffee shop on the corner. While working on her resume. Because she had to look at least SOMEWHAT legitimate, right? misc Zoe is glad she was somewhat careful with her previous interactions with the AP. While there are certainly some people that could likely recognize her, she does not think they'd rat her out, even if they knew? They were not exactly high ranking officials back then, and she does not think they are now. Though if they were close enough to Zeredah, they might maybe be affected by Zeredah's seeming invulnerability to her power. Or not. Zoe has no idea how exactly Zeredah is immune to her power, and therefore has no way of knowing if that can affect others! | roleplayer info ☆ NAME Zee ☆ RP EXPERIENCE Since 2011 ☆ TIMEZONE Central US ☆ GENDER Female ☆ AGE 25 ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS @zee (OOC Account) ☆ FACE CLAIM Recovery of an MMO Junkie, Moriko Morioka ---------------------- THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO Zee.
