Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

The day was bright, sunlight basking every surface it touched with a veil of warmth. The young dragon was in a bright, cheerful mood, going throughout the day with a bright smile on his face. The keychains he hooked to the straps of his backpack rattled against each other as he moved, much of the day passing in a blur. It was after most of the school-day had passed that Honeydew’s day brightened even further.
Seeing a familiar face, Honeydew rushed over. ”Kiran! Hi! Are you doing okay today?” Honeydew’s voice is cheerful and happy, his steps quick as he approaches. As soon as he’s close enough, he moves to hug Kiran, and once he let go, he rummages around in his backpack. Pulling out a chocolate bar, his fingers grasped it gently as he presents it to his friend. ”I saved you a treat!”
Honeydew had naturally found himself looking for Kiran more and more, finding himself drawn to the other’s presence the more time he spent with him. Kiran was a treasured friend, a valued person, one that Honeydew never tired of seeing or being around. ”Wanna walk home again today too?” Honeydew’s voice is a bright chirrup, his eyes glowing with a happiness not unlike the shining of the sun.
Honeydew was a warm sun that shone and filled the normally dark and gloomy sky that would be Kiran. The pure joyous feelings that radiated from the friend he somehow managed to get influenced the gifted greatly. Honeydew's genuine kindness had him in awe and speechless at times. The white haired dragon was someone who everyone wanted to befriend and yet of all people to pick... Kiran was the one he wanted to spend time with. It left the young teenager both baffled and honored. It made him pause and stop to question ...why... how? Did he do something to deserve this? Sometimes he questioned how long it would be before he messed it up... and yet...
yet... that time never comes no matter how much he anticipates it. How he stumbles over words and expects it to be said but is instead met with the friendly smile and words that always gives him happiness he never believed he'd obtain again. "Honeydew!" He calls out his name with unusual enthusiasm coming from himself but with the influence of Honeydew... it shouldn't have been that surprising to himself. The way his voice bubbled up out of throat happily took Kiran by surprise and took a moment of adjusting to tame that shock. The hug was enough to bring him out of it and he gladly returned it.
"Huh?" The flash of a wrapped chocolate bar being held out to him has him blinking silently as his hands moved to retrieve the present. He can't help but drop his gaze to look at it... Candy.... for him? A gift? Kiran felt his lip tremor and he knew it only meant one thing; tears. He didn't want to cry because he knew Honeydew would get worried... but such act of kindness easily pushed him to an emotional state. "For me??? Really?" Judging by how high his voice reached, it should've been obvious he was feeling rather emotional by the gesture.
"Thanks so much... I'll really enjoy this a bunch. It means a lot..." He flashes a smile as he barely manages to conquer those tears. "I never imagined I'd get this happy over chocolate, ehe..." He was feeling bashful but the radiant smile of his good friend catches him off guard. His eyes couldn't help but be drawn to it; Honeydew had a nice one! "Mhm! I can walk home with you again!!! I'd be happy too!"
His smile brightens more as his name is called, his mood lifting even further. Being around those he’s fond of, it serves as a mood booster like no other. The smiles and happiness of his friends, those have always been what mattered the most. Honeydew is always at his happiest and shines the brightest, when he is with those who have become his friends. Kiran was undoubtedly one of those already, and Honeydew grew happier and happier the closer they became. The return of the hug made him warm, fizzling over with silent joy.
”It’s good I promise.” As the chocolate bar was accepted, Honeydew felt as though his gift was a good one. He had been unsure of what to save, what the better choice had been. It had worked out fine, though, right? Kiran was certainly happy? A sense of accomplishment settled within him, now that he was ascertained that he has done something good. He nods in response, to the question asked. ”Yup! ” His voice brims with cheerfulness, a natural state for the young dragon.
It was one that he himself enjoyed many times before, so he was happy that it was an acceptable treat. He tilts his head a little, listening further. Making others happy...it was truly important. ”It’s okay. I like seeing you happy...” It was the truth, something he wasn’t ashamed in the least to admit. Sometimes it may seem a bit out of nowhere to mention, but it always gave him a feeling of belonging. ”Yay! Walking home alone is not as fun..”
Honeydew never liked being alone, though it was something he tries to keep to himself. He doesn’t want to make his papa upset again, for being too clingy or getting in the way. ”Want to go the faster way or the longer way..?” He begins to walk forwards as a choice would be made, happy to indulge in either route. The longer route cut through a park ..... giving more time to be spent together. Would he be tempted to stop and play? Would Yin notice if he took longer to get home? Either way, the longer he was with Kiran, the brighter the day would be.
"Mhm! I don't doubt that it isn't!" A part of him wanted to keep it for later... but who's to say it wouldn't get snatched up by the person in charge of taking care of him right now? The young male nibbled on his lower lip anxiously as he splayed his fingers out against the wrapping of the chocolate bar. He couldn't have that- so he decided on waiting on the right opportunity to share it with Honeydew! It would be nice if he could have some and then Honeydew have the other half! It was a perfectly sized chocolate bar for that too.
"I usually walk home alone so having company is... it's nice!" Though his home was nothing like Honeydew's and so he could never bring himself to talk about it. He avoided it if he could... it was sad and the idea of causing a frown to appear on his dearest friend's face made him feel all the more worse! Honeydew brought him happiness... much like the kind his older brother did. It was warm and fuzzy! He couldn't get enough of it so when the choice of which path they could take was asked... the answer was obvious enough. He leaned forward as his hands clutched onto the straps of his backpack. "Longer way! I mean... is it bad if I want to stay out a little longer with you...?"
Honeydew probably had a time limit of how long he could be out. Kiran didn't exactly have that- as long as he checked in he could play around as he pleased. As long as he came back in tact that's all they really cared for. "Besides um... there's that park up ahead! We could swing together.. or... play around on the jungle bars a little... doesn't it sound fun???" He wasn't the best with persuasion but hopefully his offers were tantalizing enough to convince the other. Even if it was 10 more extra minutes... he'd take anything. Anything beat having to go home to the person he'd be assigned with at the moment.
