Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
he sound of keys jangling in his hands echoed throughout the entrance of the home as the pinkette sluggishly twisted the knob open. Having been living with Scott for sometime now since the start of their relationship the familiarity he had with the wooden coat hanger to the side and that fake-but suspiciously real plant on the other side of him were sights he had gotten very used to seeing. He set the keys down in the keyholder near the doors entrance as he lazily rid himself of his dark red coat. [break]
Today was a lot more eventful for Nima than it would be for this was your average seventeen year old. Having gotten a job at a local coffee shop while juggling the pain better known as high school and don't forget the whole reason he came to Lorsette: searching for his missing brother. Nima had his work cut out for him but all of it while stressful at times had become a staple part of his schedule. [break]
The young male signs as he slipped out of his shoes and moved them to be neatly placed near all the others by the door. His feet began to shuffle against the wooden floor as he headed straight for the bedrooms. Nima while normally would stop and fully enter his room had decided to just set his bags down near the door before turning in the opposite to enter the room near his. [break]
A familiar sight fills his eyes and the kitsune can't help but let out a low rumbling whine. "Scott..." A long day it had been indeed... and nothing better than quality comfort and tender loving care from his boyfriend would do the trick in rejuvenating him. His feet find themselves moving to where he can gently flop down on the bed besides him-- a sigh parting from his lips as his ears vaguely pick up on the sound of the television being lowered. [break]
"Today... suucked... can we cuddle? pretty please?" His emerald eyes looked up at him in desperation while his thin lips pulled into a pout.
A recluse, scared of judgement and being misunderstood for a thousand times. Will they ever understand? Or will I be left to alone forever?
[attr="class","scotttalker"]Time passed since the introduction of Nima into the household. The young pinkette was Scott's boyfriend and somebody he came to admire and enjoy the companionship of. Through a chat group fixated on artistry, the pair connected strongly and eventually began dating. Though, mutual intense emotions between one another was not the reason Nima lived inside the Hettire family home. The younger, pink-haired man was searching for his missing older brother and believed he resided in Lorsette. Therefore, after endless pleading, Scott managed to persuade his parents into allowing Nima into their home.
The successful persuasion arrived under the stipulations of separate bedrooms and no fooling around. It was a comfortable agreement considering their awkward age difference and lack of in-person interaction. Rather, the stipulation provided the well-needed adjustment time for the couples' relationship to blossom without hindrance. While their internet messaging festered their deep connection between one another, there was something special about face-to-face interaction. The opportunity to cuddle and converse openly was a delightful experience for Scott.
Those opportunities brought easement that refreshed the young artist. The endless days of accomplishing a job he received little satisfaction in was bearable with Nima's presence. Similarly, was bearing the burden of his father's seemingly endless disappointment. There was somebody there. Somebody who would listen and give him the attention and healing he required after a rough discussion or pressuring workday. It was something Scott admired and needed from the pleasant pinkette, and he would return those same sentiments.
However, in Nima's absence, Scott found himself listening to the gentle hum of a Netflix show while he lounged in bed drawing. Across the paper canvas of his notepad was another of his semi-realistic drawings of eerie creatures of the night. The page was shaded in darkness while his pencil added the finer details of a darkened monster. Long fangs protruded from its mouth while black spines broke from the creature's back. In an artistic decision, colour was introduced only in a sickening red, outlining the shapes of blood.
Subtle, but bringing a new eeriness to the fangs and claws. The trees sharply drawn on the page summoned the vibe of a haunted forest. Though, in the midst of his darkened art were words. Etched crudely in the corner were the words 'the beast of my mind feasts in the dark' written in all capitals. Distracted by his art, Scott only noticed Nima's return home when his bedroom door squeaked open. An inaudible 'huh' breached his lips as the ginger's green eyes glanced at the door. There, he noticed the pinkette and heard his soft whine and call of his name.
A soft frown graced his lips. Slowly, Scott shifted positions, placing his pencils onto the bedside table and closing his sketchbook. The remote was grabbed second as Nima flopped down. The volume was brought down to a lower hum as his attention shifted. A single inquiry pulled the corners of Scott's lips as he inched closer, arms slowly wrapping around Nima.
"Whenever you need," he answered in a soft voice. "And if you want, you can talk about it. It might help you feel better."
The suggested was given to bring forth future easement for his boyfriend. After a rough day, recovery snuggles, relaxation and a pleasant conversation were a well-needed comfort. In the pleasant hum of the television, Scott eased beside the pinkette, the playing show ignored in favour of Nima.
arge eyes were able to take note of the sketchbook that had been put aside for his sake. It earned yet another whine out of the kitsune. Touched at the fact his boyfriend would stop for the sake of him. He know how important art was to his lover and to know he'd put a pause to his creative process for the sake of helping improve his state of mind... It made Nima lean into him more and the desire to squeeze him was stronger than ever. "You were sketching..." A soft mumble as he slowly moved himself within his hold so it was more comfortable for the both of them.
"You stopped for me too! You're the sweetest ever!" His hand lightly rested against the orange haired male's chest. "What'd I do to deserve such an angel, really?" Seeing Scott so up close like this... being in his general presence did all the healing that Nima needed. The same hand had moved to softly trace his index finger along his soft cheeks which earned a content noise out of the pinkette. "Mmm... you really wanna hear me talk poorly about the usual annoying customers and the unending gossip my co-worker engage in more?" Nima laughs it off softly.
"I'm almost certain nothing would come from me talking about how Nancy thinks Bridgette is a massive fake bit-..." He censored himself when the profanity popped up. "Had to hear it alll shift and you know- I'd be accused of being so too if I didn't smile and nod like I genuinely cared!" Nima nuzzled his face into him and another laugh came out of his lips. "Gosh! Can I also mention how she totally did nothing to help me when I had to deal with some horrible customer who insisted I ruined their whole day by failing to add something to their drink!?"
The moment his laughter ceased a notable pout had arisen on his lips. His exhaustion was practically leaking out from how he carried himself both in words and posture. Nima's had his fair share of bad days but really... this might have topped for being the worst. "Gosh forbid I didn't add the triple caramel because I've been having Nancy talk my ear up the entire time." Nima grunts quietly. "And I'm the one who got scolded by our manager."
A recluse, scared of judgement and being misunderstood for a thousand times. Will they ever understand? Or will I be left to alone forever?
[attr="class","scotttalker"]Temporarily allowing his art to rest was oddly hardly a travesty to Scott. At times, he appreciated allowing his sketch to sit for finishing later. In moments of desiring a small chance for accomplishing art, it was a marvellous brief moment. The anxious man's brilliant green eyes locked onto his pink-haired boyfriend. His countenance was marked with softened features, quiet and attentive in a single package. The gentle whine escaping through Nima's lips brought Scott's eyes to a subtle widening of surprise.
The kitsune mentioned an obnoxiousness plaguing his work experience for the day. A soft hum escaped the press as the kelpie adjusted, his legs crossing as he straightened his back. The ginger expected his boyfriend to plunge straight into the aggravations of his shift, yet, the circumstance proved different. The mumbled comment breached Scott's ears, resulting in a subtle waver in his brows. Confusion exhibited itself in the young man's countenance, as though he never accounted for how meaningful setting aside his sketching would be to the pink-haired man.
"Mmhmm, did you want to see?" The young artist began, thinking perhaps his boyfriend wanted a glance as the sketchy, horror-esk creation on his notepad.
As excitement laced Nima's words, the younger male's hand pressed against his chest. Through Scott's barely parted lips arrived a gentle 'meep' as his boyfriend's hand connected with his chest. The soft-touch had caught him off-guard, though, as his cheeks turned rosy, it was evident no complaints were being registered both vocally nor mentally. The redness of his elevated as a whine squeezed through his throat as his boyfriend complimented him further.
"Nimaaaa," he cried out. "Mmm, you're real sweet too you know... Besides, I want to make you happy."
Shortly, the hand on his chest retreated, returning in the form of a finger tracing his reddened cheeks. Narrowly escaping his sucked-in lips, a soft 'mmmm!' audibly rose from Scott. The ginger was notorious for being easily embarrassed, but fortunately, the circumstance allowed him to maintain a semblance of calm. The privacy of his bedroom allowed for optimal comfort to handle the barrage of sweetness being provided in the form of a pink-haired kitsune. At his question, Scott nodded to inform his answer rather than risking a high-pitched, squeaky voice leaking from his lips.
The starting of the story received an attentive reaction from Scott. His wide eyes observed his boyfriend, the tale of work trials providing enough time for his initial embarrassment to soothe. Though as Nima adjusted and his head rested against his chest, it flared briefly; physical affection was something the ginger was working towards handling with grace. Carefully, his arm roped around Nima's waist well his gaze watched the adorable bundle laughing and talking in his lap.
"W-well! That's unfair," he frowns a little. "You don't deserve that to happen..."
Given his social qualms, Scott could only imagine the nightmare customer service was and handling a rude, talkative coworker. The thought haunted him for a few seconds, and for once, he was grateful he was forced into a job of lonesomely cleaning the TRS hallways.
