my first love
Means more than life itself. Those confessions told and relationship cemented. Yet, I fear those who judge us despite how much I care about you. But I promise to always love you.

Instances, where Caleb ventured out alone, were hardly considered rare. During the early hours of the morning he noticed the signs pointing to the possibility of a pleasant day weather-wise. Unique to the later months of a Canadian autumn, the breeze toned down and the shining sun allowed to improvements in the overall warmth. Rather than requiring the procurement of a winter jacket, Caleb was capable of leaving in home in a mere windbreaker. Winter was an impending thought on the young imp's mind as he freed himself from the household.
[break][break]
The arrival of colder temperatures heralded the concept of being cooped up inside the home he shared alongside his secret boyfriend, Troy. Naturally, Caleb held little issue with the thought of spending his days within the stunning home they shared, however, the opportunity to be outside would diminish substantially. Perhaps from the preferences set by species alone, Caleb held low tolerance towards the frigid temperatures of a Canadian winter. Their location by the coast made the dampened, cold air enough to pierce bone and leave somebody endlessly shivering; a literal bone-chilling.
[break][break]
Hence, why Caleb discovered himself wandering the walkways of Crow Feather Park after lunch. Long since November's entrance in time, the leaves had fallen to their demise. Littered throughout the entirety of the park were dried leaves. A single step across their fragile frames yielding the satisfying fall crunch of a leaf effectively shattering beneath the foot. Though, the naked trees made for little scenery beyond the azure skies, passing faces and playing children. The subtle, tolerable breeze waved bare branches, leaving only the rattling of the limbs together.
[break][break]
The birds long retreated for warmer climates to avoid the frigid temperatures. Inevitably, the more financially wealthy would follow for months to avoid winter's cruel grasp. Though, the lack of scenery failed to bother Caleb as he walked down the paths. His chocolate-coloured eyes casually surveyed the area, brimming with an acute curiosity. He mostly wished for an opportunity to leave the house rather than anything substantial. A chance to breeze in the fresh air before perhaps picking up a few groceries and heading home to start supper.

As his eyes lingered elsewhere, Caleb failed to notice the straying steps of another passerby. An arm bumped into the short man's shoulder in a moment of passing. Ah! The sound of startle and surprise automatically left his lips followed by the sounds of something clattering to the floor. The imp turned, glancing at the man he bothered on accident. On the floor was the man's phone, which he hastily retrieved and fortunately it lacked cracks. Relief flowed through Caleb's lips in the form of a gentle sigh.
[break][break]
"I'm sor-" the imp started, however, was silenced by a nasty glare.
[break][break]
The man gestured to his undamaged phone, countenance clearly fuming. The mere sight brought an empty feeling to Caleb's stomach as his hairs stood on end. Soon, his fingers clasped together and started fidgeting.
[break][break]
"Look what you could have done, dumbass! You should watch where the fuck you're going!" The man shouted at him, clearly displeased with the minor accident.
[break][break]
A frightened whimper squeaked out of Caleb's throat as his eyes faced the asphalt. Confrontation was never his strong suit and it became obvious, this situation would not be easily released.
[break][break]
"I'm s-s-sorry... I didn't mean to," Caleb responded in a mouse's voice.
[break][break]
The man's expression twisted into further anger, his eyes bearing into Caleb. In silence, the imp prayed he would walk away and abandon the verbal argument, though he would not be fortunate.
[break][break]
"It doesn't fucking matter! You could have broken it, idiot!" The man shouted at him.
[break][break]
A whimper squeezed through Caleb's lips as he squeezed his eyes shut. Based on those words alone, the rude man would be going off on him in no time. As a man riffled with insecurities, the imp found himself mentally unprepared to handle an onslaught of insults without cowering back.
