Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

he didn't care where he was going so long as he got out of the house. he had been studying for a few hours now. if you called him finishing his homework studying. honestly he needed to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. taking random easy classes wasn't going to help him any. it was always the same. what are your strengths and weakness and random self reflection type questions.
he knew for sure that he wanted to enjoy what he did. he wasn't going to sit behind a desk all day. he surprisingly didn't have to work that day. he yawned as one of his siblings burst in his room. they started telling him about the ice castle. he shrugged and agreed to go.
he wished he hadn't agreed to anything. he could of been home doing anything else than walk around in circles. so after agreeing to come to this stupid ice castle thing, hey lets get lost in a maze. everything was going good so far. he wasn't expecting the maze to be that difficult. then he got separated from his sibling. which was fine, they could fend for themselves.
he felt like an idiot for getting separated and now being lost. it would of been easier if he had some landmarks to go off of. he knew he wasn't in any immediate danger. surely if he stayed there longer than he should someone would get him out. if this was all part of their plan...he knew there would be some payback coming. he huffed and stuffed his hands in the the pocket of his coat. hitting another dead end he slowly started to head back and take a right instead of the left he had taken.
Alice had been wanting to go to the Ice Castle ever since it had opened, of course Zachary had to work so he wouldn't be able to take her until he wasn't tired and they had availability to be with each other. He locked the house and walked to the Ice Castle with Alice holding his hand, the walk had been a nice one but nothing was more exciting than spending her freetime with her father at the Ice Castle. He joined her as she lead him towards the different activities. It wasn't long until they had found the maze and Alice was leading him inside. He followed as she made a left and a right, they kept finding deadends. Zachary waited patiently for Alice to lead him down another direction.
As it appeared they were finally going the right way, Alice had let go of her father's hand to walk a head. He didn't mind, positive that he'd find her without any trouble. A few minutes later, he had heard Alice giggling and had turned a corner to see that she had ran into another stranger lost in the maze. "Alice." He called, reaching out his hand for her to take it again. "Daddy, we aren't the only ones lost in here." She grinned, slowly making her way towards her father, though she wanted to spend more time with the stranger.
harv sighed as he continued walking. how embrassing was this. his siblings are never going to let him live this down. especially if they have to send in a search team to find him. he wasn't going to let that happen. he'd use all his skills to prevent that from occuring.
his ears picked up sound. foot steps. maybe it was someone that could help him get out. maybe they could work together and get out of this stupid maze. alright, he knew he was tall, but he was expecting someone around his age, let alone height to be coming by. when he spotted the young girl he looked at her confused. surely her parent wouldn't of let her go on her own. he crouched down to her level."hey, are you lost?"it was the stupidest question he could ask, but it was the first thing that popped into his head.
it seemed like his question was answered when a guy, more than likely her father called out to her. he laughed nervously at what she said."im not technically lost, im just uncertain of where i am."he said as he rubbed the back of his head."is that way a dead end too? i was just about to go that way."he said as he stuck his hands in his pocket. he wasn't sure why he was feeling so awkward.
Alice giggled, more interested in the fact she ran into another person over being lost in the first place. She didn't get a chance to answer before her father had called out for her to come back. Zachary took Alice's hand in his own, smiling slightly when she told him that they weren't the only ones lost in here. It was hard not to chuckle at Harvey's comment, "Well that is one way of looking at it I suppose." He didn't mind saying that he was lost, though Alice had already made the comment so there wouldn't be a point in admitting to it now. "Yeah, it is." He answered as he nodded his head. "Who ever made this made this maze did a good job...." He added, slightly impressed though it would be nice to find a way out sooner or later. "Did you try that direction already?" He asked, unsure on how long Harvey had been standing here.
harv wasn't sure why he was embarrassed. maybe it was because he had been trying his best to get out and he couldn't find his way out? it wasn't like he was going to admit that to anyone let alone admit defeat. he chuckled once more and figured he knew what was really going on. he was lost but wasn't going to admit it."right, its like there is no exit...but im sure there is we just haven't found it yet."he said with a nod. the last thing he wanted to do was scare the little girl.
he confirmed what harvey had guessed. that the way they had just came from was a dead end. he wondered if there was another way he had missed. he shook his head."actually i was about to head that way myself. shall we all have a look?"he suggested as he turned to face the direction of the new path.
Zachary nodded his head when Harvey gave his answer, of course with Alice holding his hand now he no longer had to worry about his daughter getting a head of him. What would be worse wouldn't be the fact that they'd be lost in the maze but if his daughter managed to get separated from him. The worry of wanting nothing more to keep his daughter close made his heart somewhat ache as he slowly started walking forward with Alice and Harvey. What once had been two had turned into three, he couldn't help but wonder if they would come across any other lost souls in this wonderful maze. "I wonder how long we've been in here." Alice broke the silence as she tugged on her father's hand so that he would follow after her. "I lost track of time." He answered back, still not ready to admit that they were lost and it was likely longer than a hour. Alice giggled, "I want to do this again daddy." The comment had caught him off guard, there would be nothing he'd want more than to spend all day in the maze with her but he still had to report into work but perhaps another activity that was just as fun would be possible after this.
harvey and the two others continued to walk around the maze. he wasn't sure if they had introduced each other yet. the girl seemed rather friendly. he chewed his lip softly as he tried to figure out some way to escape this maze."surely it's been at least an hour or so? maybe less."he chuckled."i mean they don't want a maze full of people freaking out. so maybe we are nearing the end."he said trying to sound hopeful.
"oh im harvey by the way. it's nice meeting you two."he said with a friendly smile."what if you boost me up? we can try to see over top and find the exit faster?"he suggested with a chuckle."im only kidding."he said a bit embarrassed.
Zachary nodded his head to Harvey, "But than again, maybe having a group full of people freaking out is their main goal." He chuckled as he answered back, it was a bad joke but he had his moments of sharing them at times, "I'm Zachary and this is Alice, it's a pleasure to meet you too Harvey." Zachary had answered him back, Alice giggled as she continued moving forward. "Hi." She giggled at Harvey before grinning at his suggestion. "No...." She giggled, "Your too big.... but I can do it." She suggested mostly because she wanted to be lifted up herself. Zachary laughed at her comment before giving Harvey an apologetic smile. "That is a good idea though." He answered after a moment, he could fly though he wasn't interested in manifesting his wings to do so and Alice didn't know how to fly yet. Alice was still grinning at Harvey, "Well I'm having fun being in here." She admitted, though it was fun being with Harvey, it meant even if her father was being called in, there was a slight chance he wouldn't manifest his wings just to get out of the maze faster just to go into work, which meant more time with her.
harvey laughed."that sounds like they should of saved this event for like halloween or something. imagine going through this in the dark. surely people would have a heart attack. especially if there had things popping out of every corner."alright maybe not every corner other wise it would get repetitive and boring. nicely timed jumpscares would be great.
he nodded and smiled. finding little alice adorable as she smiled at him. he laughed at her words."should we give it a try? if it doesn't work you'd at least get a free piggie back ride."he told her. he was sure zachary would be the one that would carry her."it shouldn't be too much longer now. im sure they timed this and stuff. making it safe for people. if we are really suck they'd help us out. or at least i think they would."
he nodded at alice."well i guess if you're having fun we shouldn't rush through it huh."harvey continued forward. he wasn't sure what to talk about. if there needed to be any conversation at all."so apart from the maze, what else is there to do? i saw the maze and had to do it first."he said with a chuckle.
Zachary couldn't help but feel slightly worried all of a sudden. "I sure hope not.... the hospital is already packed...." He thought to himself, not that he would mind helping more people, the space was just limited was all. Though he would feel sad that he'd be away from Alice while helping his patients out. "I don't think I would have gone in here if I had known that it might be just like that." He thought to himself, somewhat stuck in thought. Besides wanting to see Alice, he wanted to see Desmond again. What if he didn't get out of here.... He wanted to see that smile again. He sighed at the thought of not seeing his crush again before being pulled from his thoughts. Harvey had made the comment about being on shoulders before Alice made her own comment. "Daddy, can I?" She pleaded with puppy dog eyes. "Yes." He answered with a smile on his face before getting on knees so that she could climb onto his back, he helped her get her legs on his shoulder before standing back up.
"I can see the whole maze.... it doesn't seem to be very many people lost in here...." Alice giggled, "And we are near the end too." She sighed at the thought, though Zachary was happy to hear it. "Let's make a right and than a left." Alice answered, Zachary started walking forward. "Well if there aren't very many of us lost in here they might not find a great need yet." Though he had to admit, Harvey was right, if his daughter was having fun who was he to rush them. To Harvey's question he had to think for a moment, "Ice Castle and a few other activities...." He had so much on his plate he was struggling to remember all the different types.
harvey laughed."what? You dont like scary things?"he knew it wasn't for everyone but it was fun to get scared once in a while. everything in moderation. they continued walking along until Alice seemed to plead for Zach to put her on his shoulders. he watched them and waited for any new information. he smiled and nodded at her words."well that good to know. that we are not too far off. We are right on track then."he chuckled as he started to walk once more. "That's very helpful."he said with another chuckle."dont worry about it. I'll just have to get out of those maze and see what else there is. I want to say I saw someone with hot chocolate. Definitely have to get one of those"
Zachary shrugged his shoulders. "Not really.... it doesn't mean I will avoid them at all costs.... I'm just not a fan." Sometimes he has to go in a dangerous location to save another person, but things that are scary that one might find to be fun, yeah he would likely avoid them unless Alice was interested in them. Hopefully the maze would be the only scary thing she'd be interested in being near. Alice kept giving directions so that they could have an easier time finding the exit to the maze. When Harvey mentioned hot chocolate he couldn't help but start to slowly crave for it. "That sounds so good right about now." He answered as they finally turned another passway just to see the exit in full view. "Are you planning on heading over there right now?" He asked, still holding Alice on his shoulders so that she couldn't lose her balance on him.
harvey simply laughed."it's alright. it isn't for everyone."he told him with a nod. they continued their walk towards the exit. as they walked it seemed to get easier. had he continued on his own it seemed like it might of taken him a couple more minutes, but he would of eventually gotten out. it was nice running into to others and finding the way out together. especially when the method was sitting on someones shoulders.
his stomach started to grumble."hopefully they have good too. im getting hungry."they reached the exit and harvey through his hands up in the air."freedom!"he said before laughing as he saw a few people looking at him. he turned to face them."that's the plan, did you guys want to come?"
Zachary couldn't help but grin when they were finally out of the maze and Harvey had given his reaction, despite having people nearby that were looking at him. "It is true though." He added on, also glad to be out of the maze finally. Alice seemed comfortable on his shoulders because she was able to see more than she had when she was standing on the ground prior. "Sure, we'd love to come." Zachary answered with a smile on his face. Alice touched her dad on the cheek. "I'm tired.... can I be put back down?" Alice had asked and her father helped her carefully get down so that she would be on the ground once more. "Did you want hot chocolate Alice?" Zachary asked her, but to his disappointment she didn't seem as energetic as she normally acted. Alice sneezed, "Sure." Though she wasn't really in the mood to do anything right now. "How about we go and if you change your mind we can head home." He suggested to Alice before looking back at Harvey. "We're ready when you are." He still held that smile on his face, though he couldn't help but feel slightly worried about Alice getting possibly sick.
harvey nodded as zach had agreed that they would come along for some hot chocolate. he couldn't remember the last time he had a cup. despite serving it at work he rarely got a cup. if anything he would get coffee. just black coffee would keep him awake. if he wanted something sweet he would go for a cappuccino.
he watched as he put alice down. he chuckled softly."got tired of sitting huh? thanks for your help. you're a great navigator."harvey told her with a grin. he produced a handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to her."sounds like you need something warm."he told them as he nodded and started towards the nearest booth. lucky for them they served hot chocolate and other food items. he ordered his hot chocolate and debated on a food item. he moved out of the way so zach and alice could get their hot chocolates."it's really good."he told them as he took a careful drink. the liquid was a bit hot. he didn't want to burn his tongue just because he wanted to chug the hot beverage.
