Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
It was finally time?! The depths of Holly’s eyes positively glittered. Mentor....she had to show him that she wasn’t just a kid who didn’t know what they were getting into. If the girl had a tail, it’d be wagging about a mile a minute, if she had ears, they’d be perked up and standing at attention. As it was, she was having a surprisingly hard time refraining from bouncing off the walls and howling like some moon-crazed puppy. Oh, but what would he be like? He’d have to be totally cool, right? Everyone she’s seen in TRS so far seemed super strong, anyways!
Holly’s feet are swift as she makes tracks towards where she was supposed to be meeting him - though she notices a few glances in her direction. Oh...oh was she not conducting herself properly? Ah, that wouldn’t be good to make a bad impression. For a moment one of her teacher’s constant reminders rang through her mind, a stern chastising of no running in the halls! Surely, the rules would be the same here?! She slowed her feet and her frantic excite-able pace for a moment, before she realized, in her excitement she had definitely not gone in the right direction at all.
Um .... where was she again...? Looking around her for a sign, after a while Holly gives in and just asks someone. For a moment she’s alarmed - she was quite a distance away - and the meeting was supposed to be soon. Abandoning any notion of trying to look mature for the sake of not daring to show up late - the young wolf shifter springs back into action with a boundless single-target goal in mind that surely would show a testament to her focus.
Starting to slow just as she began to approach the correct area proved to be something of a disastrous moment. Trying to stop too fast, Holly trips over her own feet and crashes to the ground. With a somewhat heavy thud, she lands on her stomach, feeling less hurt than mortified at the horrifically ungraceful arrival. Almost too quickly she picks herself up and dusts herself off - refusing to make eye contact. ”Ah...haha...I’m not late...am I?” So much for looking mature and reliable.
The days leading up to this meeting consisted of Andrew being frantic about whether or not if he was truly prepared to be one to take on an apprentice. Lots of days full of working with the reminder that their first meeting was within a few days; shared talks between his husband about his nerves but with the reassurance of him being told he'd definitely did a good job did he suck it up. Andrew himself had been trained by a capable individual so there was no doubt he could do the same. It wasn't as if the shark someone who slacked in his work either so perhaps the potential they saw in him taking on someone was for good purpose. Though... Andrew knew he became another person when he was serious.
His anxiety laid more in being to strict or harsh on someone who genuinely just wanted to learn and strive to be better for whatever reason they have for being within TRS or on the path to becoming a scout. His eyes gazed down at the clock on his watch, hand nervously tapping at his side. His first meeting with the female by the name of Holly Dandelion was only in the span of at least 5 more minutes. The shark couldn't help but question if she was going to show up? Did rumor of him get around already? A long sigh left his lips as his eyes closed briefly. Though in the moment he did just this, did a loud thud filled his ears followed by a youthful voice.
His eyes reopened to the last thing he expected to see; his apprentice on the ground after what he assumed to have been a fall. Andrew knew better to laugh and yet he couldn't help but chuckle. He went to move to help but she had already been on her feet by the time he closed the distance. "Are you alright?" So young... the youth before him couldn't help but make him think of his sister when she was this young. It put a goofy smile on his face as his head shake. "No, no... not at all. You actually have arrived at the perfect time." The first session was due to start within two more minutes so she couldn't have arrive at a time any better than this.
"I'm sure you were informed of this but my name is Andrew Blecher, a deputy for TRS." He nodded his head. "I've been working here for sometime and to finally be able to shed my guidance onto another person... I hope you can follow my teachings well." Before they got to doing anything... he wanted to allow her to speak her mind. "Did you have any questions? Something you'd like to know before we jump right into it?"
The thing lingering in the young wolf girl’s mind was none other than how horrible this introduction had gone, surely her first impression ruined by none other than clumsy excitement. Maybe it was true what she had heard somewhere, that if you tried too hard you would surely fall flat! While it was true that Holly had wanted to make a really good first impression, it seems that as usual she had tripped up over her own feet. Would this always happen? Was she never to look cool in front of someone she wanted to impress? What had she done to deserve that? Oh well, she would just have to wing it as usual.
Maybe if she just acted true to herself, she could manage to salvage something of this first meeting! What she hadn’t expected, was the response she received. Was that .... possible a good sign? ”Yup! Just dying of embarrassment.” She perked up visibly as he spoke, relief appearing over her face. ”Really?! I was so sure I’d be late...”
She listened, an excited gleam appearing in her silver eyes. ”I’m Holly Dandelion! Oh, but you ... already know that...” Her voice trailed off, sure that her response had come off as awkward blabbering. ”I’m listen really good so I can!” He was probably going to teach her how to be super amazing, she’d probably have the best skills if she put her all into it. Questions, huh? ”You don’t think I’m too young, do you?”
There was a quiet tone to her former countenance brimming with energy, her enthusiasm toned down very visibly. This was something she knew she wanted with every fibre in her being, to be like the stories her parents had told her. To be someone that could truly help others, and make a difference, no matter how small the impact. Making the world a better place, it was all that she really wanted.
