Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Dante woke up the sun shining in his eyes. It was a miracle that this spot of sun could hit his eye through the trees, as they were so thick. He was sitting near the edge of lorsette, not in a park, but in fact in the forest on the outskirts of the city. He had a small rudimentary camp site going. Dante slept without his armor, his young looking face easy for anyone to see. He however quickly began putting on his armor, feeling naked without the strong metal suit. He finished putting the armor on before making a meal on the campfire. He had some apples in his bag, and over a cooking pot he boiled some of his water. He threw in some cored apples, which he cored using a knife. He let the stuff, skins and all, boil. He then began packing up the rest of his materials, being out in the woods was nothing new for him.
After the pot of applesauce was finished he made a bow slurping down the applesauce with shriveled up pieces of apple skin in it as well. "Delicious!" He smiled happy with his concoction. He bottled the rest, in old timey cork bottles, and began cleaning the rest of the pots, and bowls he used. He quickly put the pots and bowls away in his large bag which he easily slung over his shoulder. He put his helmet on over his head, and headed out towards the inner part of town.
Dante had heard tales of terrors showing up in the Crow Feather Park, and without much knowledge on where any of his teammates were this was the location he chose to hunt them. He was certain he could look for information along the way as well.
He travelled to the park talking to people along the way, asking about a woman, Natasha, and a few other groups of people. If they had seen them. Dante was an old fashioned guy, and didn't know how to search any way but the old fashioned one. After making it to the park he traveled in his armor to the center. Things were quiet, but his looming appearance caught a few people staring at him.
He removed his bag from his shoulder and set it in the middle of the park, almost expecting terrors to come for him.
She wasn't going to stand for it today. Today was the absolute last time she would let her target get away and win. Running at full speed between trees and flora, Calipseye was in hot pursuit of a man who so happened to cross her. She didn't know the man, no, however she only "knew" that they wanted to play some tag... winner eats all. While sprinting, Cali heard a familiar, shy voice in her head, forcing her to stop to answer.
'Maybe we shouldn't be chasing them...', it said, softly. "What do you mean? Of course we should be chasing them!" Cali replied out loud back, her lower half beginning to shift into her monstrous form. Instead of a shy voice replying to her, Cali instead heard the terribly loud voice that was her Furor personality, as it was the first wolf head to manifest completely after awhile. 'IDIOT! It didn't want to play with something like us! It was running away in FEAR!' As the other three serpentine wolves completed their shift, Cali instantly felt dull, void of any sort of emotion. "I guess," she responded to the upset, red eyed wolf head, much to its irritation.
The now callous Calipseye began to slither and crawl across the wilderness floor, aimlessly, listening to the barking of her connected companions blankly until a scent caught all of their noses. 'MAGIC!!', the childish and joy-filled wolf head exclaimed, only to be corrected by Cali. "Someone's cooking something." 'For us?', the anger wolf replied, Cali remaining quiet in response. She didn't truly know, nor did she care. Suddenly, after standing there without moving, she and all four wolf serpents began to move full speed into the direction of the scent. "Let me do it I'll find the food!" Cali said with a howl, fangs now visible from her open, gaping mouths.
Quickly approaching a clearing, Calipseye could hear a voice of concern coming from somewhere, but ignored it entirely, barging into the park area and absolutely terrifying any close to her. As she and three of her heads looked around for where the food could have come from, she was soon drawn to the center of the park, more specifically the fountain full of water present. "Look, water! I swear imma drag it back it back to the forest!" At this rather loud remark, Cali's wolf heads only looked at her in confusion before they all slowly approached the fountain, noticing but ignoring the armor clad person nearby. 'Wait.'
Stopping, Cali inquired why the wolf told her to wait. 'That guy over there, he smells like magic." "You're right..." Cali noticed, now changing course towards the man. "Maybe HE can help me move the water into the forest!!" She said in a very loud voice. "Or he can get eaten instead!" Shrugging, she picked up speed, all of her canine heads now focused on the same thing now, her many legs slithering on the ground clumsily as she towered above the populous around her.

Dante stood towering, protectively watching the park. It wasn't too long until some sort of monstrosity had entered the area. Whatever this creature was, it seemed to be hostile. He could hear screams in the distance, so he felt like it was his duty to intervene with the creature. He kept his main feature that distinguishing what race he was hidden. If the person knew what he was then they would surely be more intelligent in how they approached him. It didn't take very long for this child body slithering around serpents with wolves heads to notice him. It was almost as if they locked eyes, and now for whatever reason this creature was heading for Dante. He walked forward without hesitation, he wasn't going to back down from it, no matter how tall it stood. Whatever she was her body didn't seem to be very well controlled, the way her limbs slithered over one another. It just didn't seem precise, it looked sloppy, and slow in comparison if they were all unified and precise. He kept his hands off of his sword, letting his armor do the talking for now as he approached whatever this thing was.
It was a child? Dante highly doubted that it was a child, and it wouldn't be the first time he's faced a creature that decided to wear such a mask. He wasn't sure if this was someone who was more or less evil yet though, he was a paladin of justice, and as long as the person decided to follow the rules he had no reason to take action, even if it was scaring the local populace.
His face was covered by the helmet, but he still put on a smile. He braced his body, ready to use his super human strength, and speed, if need be to counter this creatures reach. His armor would protect from strikes, being thicker than average armor, but still surprisingly light. If there was something he knew that the creature would mistake off by hand, it would be his speed. Dante looked heavy, and he was, so one would naturally assume that speed would be lacking. Especially in heavy armor. Dante however, had such strength, this armor was like wearing nothing at all. It barely hindered on his speed but did affect his control.
He kept the sword sheathed, and stopped moving forward, his outward appearance, stance, and confidence as he approached almost demanded the creature stop in front of him. However if it decided to try and barrel through him he would unleash his speed and strength in a forward dash, and push the mighty creature, he was certain he had the strength to do so. If it didn't respect his boundary then he might raise a sword against it, but would consider that as a last option.
"What is your name?" He spoke with an elegant regal tone, but still sounded very demanding. "My name is Dante Xelith, and I believe your beginning to scare some of the civilians here. Do you have a more, humanoid, form we can speak in." Although he was standing his ground, and his eyes, and face were hidden behind a mask, his stance looked nothing like someone at ease. He looked ready to strike at a moments notice, and demanded respect from the onlookers, and assailants alike.
"Is there something you need from me specifically? You approached rather quickly."
Stopping a few feet from the armored man, Calipseye stared intently down at him, her large extra "limbs" giving her a height advantage as she talked to herself. "Our name?! Our name doesn't matter!" A far too upset Cali said before another mental voice calmed her. 'Just say our name, what's the matter with that? 'Yeah,' a quiet voice pitched in, the wolf head it related to retreating behind the others, 'it's just a name...'
Growling, Cali gave in. "Furor!" She boomed, "That's my name. Calipseye is our name. Got it?!" The wolf heads stared at her as she matched the man's forward stride in kind. The man's smile only served to irritate Cali even more. 'Dante is a nice name..' the shy voice said, speaking out in her mind, only to be completely ignored by all except the pissed Cali. "No one cares about your opinions," Cali stated harshly, hitting the closest wolf head on their head.
When Dante asked if she had a more human looking form, Calipseye absolutely lost it, bearing her teeth, and going on a spree of insults. She had been referred to as a monster, or inhuman, before, and depending on her mood her reactions were usually never good. "Do YOU have a more humanoid form armor man?!" Calipseye, still enraged, allowed two of the wolf heads to begin circling around the man as she spoke, "You look like a walking tin can filled with mushy skin and flesh, I should just eat you right now you dumb metal trash can looking-"
Just as suddenly as she began her tantrum, she stopped just as quickly, her expression going blank. A few moments of silence passed for her as she slowly began shifting back to her human state, onlookers around her simply staring with open mouths as eventually, the former nine feet monstrosity dwindled to nothing more than a four foot little child. Calipseye looked up at Dante, keeping her blank expression before answering both of his questions. "Yes," she said plainly, "We want you to help us move that water thing back into those trees. We smelled food and magic nearby and followed it here."
Her speech was drastically different from before, seeming careless in what she says, stating everything as is. To her, if the tall man in front of her were to attack, she knew that her hostile side would simply regain control and attempt to rip him, or his shiny armor, apart.

Dante looked up at the child riding tentacled wolf heads and kept his composure despite the things apparent size. It had stopped approaching, which meant it was at least taking him seriously for the most part. Her name doesn't matter? So she was going to attack then? Dante almost reached for his sword, but quickly stopped, hovering over the hilt just for a moment before he relaxed once again. She seemed to be arguing between herself. What kind of creature was this? It had different personalities in the different heads among the creature? Calipseye was her name, not a bad name. When the child burst out in anger, hitting one of the other wolves heads, stating that she "Didn't care about your opinion" Dante caught onto it pretty quickly, wondering if he could confuse, or maybe turn one of the heads against her. Perhaps it would be difficult for her to strike if she was fighting with her own personalities.
"I care about it's opinion." He spoke calmly and assertively.
He clearly noted the child had started to have some sort of temper tantrum after he asked about a humanoid form. When the heads began circling him he quickly put his hand on his sword, almost as if saying with posture alone. "Think twice." And almost as quickly as the situation escalated, the situation calmed down. The heads seemed to retreat into the girl, and she began morphing into the small child that was 'controlling' all the other heads. When the child spoke Dante felt that perhaps this situation would become more escalated, but he couldn't allow the child to remove the fountain.
"Calipseye, removing the fountain wouldn't do anyone good. The best I can do to help you is provide you with some bottles to transport some of the water." Dante wasn't sure what she was using the water for, but she was clearly not evil at least right? You couldn't just move a whole fountain, if he tried to lift the thing it would just crumble in his hands right? It was made of concrete. Plus the water line would be broken, splaying water all over the area. Not good, and he might get charged with breaking government property.
"Calipseye is a very pretty name by the way." Dante knelt down to be eye level with the child. He then reached behind him where a small satchel was sitting around his waist. He pulled open the clasps, and pulled out a singular red rose. "Consider this my first gift to you Calipseye, may it keep our forces in line with each other. Rather than opposing" Dante didn't want to have to fight a child after all.
"Calipseye, removing the fountain wouldn't do anyone good. The best I can do to help you is provide you with some bottles to transport some of the water." The now callous Calipseye stared at the man, who was now at her eye level, with a glare that could only be perceived as uncaring, or rather, full of care. Cali herself didn't know what exactly she was feeling, however it was neither nothing nor something much. "We don't care," At those words, from under her dress, a lone serpentine wolf head emerged, cackling in wild agreement before calming down, swaying back and fourth near the two.
'Yeah! You tell this shiny thing!' Cali said nothing verbally in return to the wolf of anger, only sighing at its apparent annoyance, raising her hand to cruelly smack the head. Realizing none of the heads picked up the man's agreement with the wolf earlier, Cali refrained from her actions. She didn't want to start a civil war with herselves, if she did, she knew they wouldn't eat. "I'm taking the water-" Unceremoniously, she was interrupted by herself, as she twitched, a wide, fang filled grin creeping onto her face as she began to shout, "AND a few people! Super hungry!"
As Dante reached behind his back, Cali's rage immediately returned, preparing to lunge at him while the wolf hovering beside her, now taking on the callous nature she had earlier, simply stared with a closed mouth before wrapping around her main body, them both fumbling to the ground. Calipseye screamed out at the wolf head, struggling to absolutely no avail; she was far stronger than herself. After a moment of screaming, Cali looked up again only to see a flower of sorts. The wolf unwrapped itself from Calipseye, and standing up she took the flower from him extremely carefully.
Her attitude was now reserved, seemingly shy and curious, as if she was an innocent girl. Cali sniffed the flower, finding it to be nothing more than that, and placed it near the wolf head. The emotionless wolf nodded at her, Cali in turn blushing and smiling at the man, barely managing a "thank you" before... putting it in her mouth and eating it, swallowing a piece of it with a semi-curled face. It did not taste pleasant, but she was thankful nonetheless.
Now trusting the man, much to literally every voice in her head's irritation, ran at Dante, closing the small gap between them quickly, and attempted to embrace him in a hug. "Now we won't have to eat everyone here for awhile!" Cali said with glee, an innocent aura of playful bliss oozing out of her. The wolf body beside her allowed her actions, however did not join in with them, instead still staring Dante in the eyes. A part of her held no trust whatsoever for this armored man, ready for combat, and was now thinking of every way to kill him where he stood...
Eventually, the wolf head reached over and bit Cali's neck gently, as a cat mother does a cub, and pulled her away from the man, Cali still munching what was left of the flower with a big smile. "Oh right! Thanks for the foods but we gotta take the water now!" The wolf gave a low growl after she was finished speaking, Cali telling the man, "she said we can't drink out of bottles, bottles are bad!"
A new friend is possibly what she made, at least half of a friend, as a few of her many personalities still either resented Dante or outright did not like him... not counting the Cali that simply didn't care. Still smiling, Cali rocked on her heels back and fourth as she waited for his response.

Dante looked at through the slits that made up the eye sockets of the helmet, although his facial expressions were hidden by the helmet his basic happy attitude was displayed by his posture. He was still a bit on edge thinking that this situation could turn sour any moment. He had dealt with creatures that hid their intent by turning into children in need. "We don't care." Dante's smile seemed to fade, although this too was hidden under his helmet. He tried to keep his posture at least showing a happy posture however. Dante eyed the singular wolf head that emerged from within her dress, cackling, and swaying back and forth. Dante watched her expressions, which seemed to be that of annoyance. When she smacked the wolf head Dante kept quiet not wanting to aggravate one of the heads if possible. "I'm taking the water." Dante was a little surprised at her boldness. "There's plenty of water here for the taking," The thing was supplied water with piping right? So it should have no problem with water being taken from the fountain.
Calipseye's face changed drastically as she expressed that she would eat a few people. His facial features upon hearing that would change to a determined, and serious look, but all hidden among the helmet, maybe except for the eyes. Calipseye's attitude seemed to shift to aggressive when he reached for the rose, but he kept his composure and when the rose was presented another shift in her personality happened. She was smiling, and blushing? Dante was surprised at this reaction, when she seemed so aggressive. It was one of the reasons he stood by giving a 'gift' to many of the people he met first hand, and it seemed to serve him well. "You are quite welcome!" Dante responded in kind.
Dante wasn't all that surprised when she ate the thing, he had seen other creatures do the same thing when he offered roses to them. He however could tell she didn't enjoy the taste. When the little one ran at him Dante had no choice but to accept her embrace. He wasn't sure why but he felt that this child was some sort of lost spirit, in a way. She needed guidance of some sorts, and although he might not be the best at it, he would try to steer the creature to the side of the righteous. After hearing her say she didn't need to consume people for a while, he wondered if she had a choice in consuming people. He kept one hand free, but embraced the young girl in a heft and extremely strong hug. His plate armor would probably make for a not so comfortable embrace. When the child began speaking about taking the water Dante let go of his embrace, and spoke.
"If you want I can offer you some of my apple sauce for more sustenance?" Dante was merely trying to fill the childs belly, and maybe try and convince the child that feeding off of humans is bad. If all that was a failure than combat might be the only choice. "I don't want you feeding off people," Dante said sternly. "It's not a good thing to be doing,"
Only the wolf noticed the strength of Dante, taking note of his embrace and becoming increasingly suspicious of it and him. Calipseye didn't seem to care, if not notice, however the wolf knew the immortal girl felt the pain that came from the plating, and wondered if soon they would bleed. The callous wolf knew that eventually, they would need to take the water, or bite this man to death and take it by force, however unlike the other voices, the wolf didn't care if the man provided an alternative. 'All of you are fools.' The wolf said subconsciously, making Calipseye twitch, a sign that her other personalities didn't quite like her choice of words.
"Applesauce? Like... apples?!" Cali gleefully jumped up and down in excitement, nodding her head in the same manner as if there wasn't a man-eating wolf head arguing with herself in her subconscious. Without a doubt, she loved apples, yet strangely enough, she discovered her love of apples from the very race she absolutely feared: reapers. "We love apples! Sure! Okay!" To Calipseye, not being able to eat anyone in return for a snack of equal value was a great deal! The wolf beside them, however, did not think so.
'Everyone here is food. Just like the snakes. Remember?' Smile fading, Cali considered the words of the silent wolf. "I mean... I guess you're right... but this friend is giving me apples!" The wolf growled softly at Calipseye, clearly not agreeing with her words, but allowing her to proceed without any further objection, making Cali smile. "Thank you!"
Returning her attention to Dante, Cali ran up to him yet again, much to the irritation of the wolf, reaching for the man's helmet. "Is this your face? It's shiny... what's with all the heavy things on your body? Were you the one who had the food?! You're pretty kind for a person... not like the snakes." If Cali managed to get close enough, she would attempt to lick and bite the helmet of Dante, only to find it void of magic, causing Cali to smile uncontrollably. Naga, to Calipseye, always tasted like magic, and being near someone such as Dante who didn't taste like a Naga eased Calipseye enough to relax. And not brutally devour someone.
Again, the wolf head bit Cali gently, pulling her back a safe distance from Dante, so she would watch his actions easier, and as it did, Cali's attitude again shifted from childish and play like, to reserved and shy, as she questioned the words the armored man spoke. "Um... why is eating people bad..." She asked, quietly, her eyes switching from Dante to the fountain. The wolf, not allowing the anger filled or wild personalities take over, only watched the duo with careful eyes, mouth slightly open so her teeth could be seen. That was the wolf's way of invoking an aura of danger, so no such danger would befall the main body.

Dante could feel a tense sort of air about the other head that surrounded Calipseye, and seemed to watch over her in a sort of protective manner clearly. He didn't want to harm Calipseye if he could help it, but if he deemed her a threat to others then that could quite possibly become the outcome of this situation. Threatening others lives was not taken lightly. Dante was slightly picking up on all of Calipseyes twitching, wondering if possibly they communicated within each other's minds. He stayed calm, and confident during the entire time. Dante was happy to see it was if the child really liked apples, that was a boon today it seemed. "Yes it is made with apples!" Dante wondered if perhaps she would actually like the applesauce as most people found his cooking, even just the mushing of apples and boiling them, absolutely horrendous.
When Calipseye agreed Dante was happy, he almost stood from his crouching position, but decided to stay on her level anyways. Hearing Cali's words come out, clearly not meant for him, worried Dante. Dante didn't have much of a magical aura at all, unless he was using his powers. Calipseye might get a view of his aura if he was to utilize more than the average of his strength or speed. Thankfully though he had a lot of both. Dante was about to reach for some of the applesauce bottles but was stopped when Cali ran up to him reaching for his helmet. He used his left hand, and using his great strength he kept the helmet still on his head, almost as if it was made of granite, and held still by some unnatural force. "This is a helmet, it protects my head from attacks." Dante answered her question honestly, as he was pretty much sworn to answer things truthfully for the most part.
There was a bit of sway in his truth seekers oath, but he kept pretty tight to the book on it. Dante watched from within his helmet as Calipseye started licking the helmet. "Now I'm going to have to wash it aren't I?" His voice sighed, appearing almost upset. He was frankly teasing her a bit, not sure with how much he could get away with though. After she moved a bit away from his helmet he then took the chance to pull out a couple of bottles of applesauce. He then placed them in the ground in front of him. Picking one of the bottles back up he opened it and reached his hand out to Cali to give her the bottle of applesauce.
"All yours, " He responded with a kind and warming voice.
"Why is eating people bad? Are you saying you would like to be eaten? No one wants to die. The strong need to protect the weak. Not eat them." Dante responded quickly. He turned his head to look at the seemingly aggravated wolf head that was watching him with bared teeth. "Eating someone, at least under my watch, would certainly turn me into an enemy." He spoke almost not to calipseye but to the wolf head with gritted teeth. He then readjusted focusing on Calipseye but gave greater attention to the wolf head now.
The wolf still staring at the armor-clad Dante closed her mouth quickly. A simple bout or display of authority seemed to do nothing to him, and for that, there was no reason to continue, in her eyes at least. She could feel the remorseless and eternally hungry Furor pull at her mind, fighting her for control. She didn’t care, however, as mentally, she was stronger.
“Really?! That’s amazing, you’re amazing! Apples are the best.” The wolf allowed the main body to approach Dante just an inch, their energetic and childish nature seemingly uncontrollable. After learning of the heavy thing called a helmet, Calipseye nodded profusely. ‘Purer,’ a voice in her head called. The name to her was entirely unfamiliar, but she felt an urge to give the voice the time of day. Falling silent, but still smiling, she replied out loud as she always did. “Yes? What is it?”
‘That helmet might be stronger than it looks,’ the staring wolf said, still seriously suspicious of Dante. “Will our poison work on it?” ‘No. Your teeth aren’t sharp enough.’ “My teeth aren’t… sharp enough?” Upon hearing this, the furious wolf conscious fighting the other for control, took advantage of the childish Cali’s confusion, and gained control. She growled, sounding like a cute storm of danger to others, and yelled at the wolf beside her, completely forgetting Dante was kneeling literally right in front of them. “My teeth CAN bite through that metal head!” She replied, hitting the wolf on the head, only escalating the situation. “I’ll bite right through it and rip his legs off!!”
While the main body was loudly arguing, scaring nearby onlookers, the more serious, cautious wolf decided enough was enough, and forcefully took control of the main body, every single wolf serpent that was present retreating back under her dress. Her attitude turned cold as she looked into the empty space of Dante’s helmet. “No, licking stuff isn’t deadly.” The serious Calipseye replied, taking the bottle of applesauce with a careful hand and then throwing it into the air. As she did, a wolf emerged rather quickly, extended, and swallowed the bottle whole. If it was poisoned, they would know, as the wolf would undoubtedly become enraged.
Pointing to herself with both hands, Calipseye coldly answered Dante, “We’re the ones that eat, everything else dies to make us live,” she stated. ‘That was mean…’ a voice replied, instantly. “I don’t care-” ‘TELL HIM! WE ARE AT THE TOP!’ “Be quiet-” ‘But applesauce is great! We can eat that instead of the people!’ “No, applesauce is like Naga-” ‘Or maybe we could… I don’t know… go somewhere and lay down…’
The voices inside her head, all of the wolves, and other voices that didn’t manifest as serpent wolves, began speaking at once, each had an opinion about Dante’s words, and each one began to gave the serious and cold Calipseye a headache. Putting both hands on her head, she groaned. Upon hearing Dante speak again, she attempted to pay close attention, making out enough to form a response as the voices spoke.
A lone wolf head then appeared, seemingly entirely under the main body’s control this time. It looked at Dante with hunger, poison dripping from the teeth, but remaining still. As much as she wanted to simply devour Dante, she didn’t try to. Did she really want to start a fight right now? ‘YES!’ “No! Shut up!” she said out loud, to surprisingly good effect. Her mind calmed, and she was left alone with the main four versions of herself, and not hundreds of unknowns. Sighing, she petted the wolf. “Okay,” she said simply. She had full intentions of continuing to prey on other people after today, seeing no reason to listen to a stranger.
If she was able, Calipseye carefully began to get closer to Dante until they were so close, going any further would be literally impossible, then sat down, her wolf forming a tight circle around them, being completely careless about how much it rubbed against Danton. With a childish smile, Cali questioned the armored man, “You’re… not helping us with the fountain, are you? Dang it… Oh well!” Their needy nature emerged, and collectively minus one, they decided Dante was their new subject of interest, sitting and staring at him with endless interest.

Dante watched curiously from inside his thick metal shell. When the child showed happiness for apples it warmed his heart a bit, wondering if she would truly like the apple concoction he had made. It wasn't poisoned in any way. In fact Dante showed all the signs of trying to help this wandered child, even against his better judgement. Dante had been tricked by creatures dressed as children before. Was this simply another creature dressed as a child? Or was there an honest, and true child spirit in there. "Yes what is it?" She spoke again to herself. Dante wondered if she would forever be entertained with all those different personalities in her head. "Will our poison work on it?" They were questioning assaulting him with poison? Dante didn't like the sound of that but kept his composure. The wolves and the main body seemed to fight each other about how they could assault him. Dante gripped his sword, threatening to pull it from it's sheath.
Dante had immense strength, and speed. He was more than certain he could push against this creatures strength. Or adorn his wings, and fly up through the air if absolutely needed, and come in from above. "You know, Calipseye. I have no intention of fighting of you, but the more I hear from your friends the more I think that it is a lost cause." Dante was perhaps a bit of a show off, and he wanted to show off his strength to this creature. He wanted to show them, you need to think twice about approaching me with ill-intent.
The other heads seemed to retreat listening to that of a more calm and serious one. They threw one of the applesauce bottles into the air and devoured it, seemingly bottle and all. "You know those bottles cost money." Dante seemed to have a bit of irritation in his voice on that regard. When the head, or was it Calipseye herself? When it spoke saying something like. "We're the thing that eats, everything else dies to make us live" Dante kept a strong grasp on his sword, and listened to what else they had to say. They began to argue back and forth, and then something about Nagas. He let go of the sword, and let out a big boisterous laugh.
"I hope you don't expect to fight me when your fighting yourselves?" He chuckled calming himself down. Some semblance of calmness arose and she seemed to agree to his demands, at least for the day right? Dante smiled from within his helmet. When the child got closer to him, he welcomed it. Although he was sure at any moment the situation could go sour. If there was indeed a child trapped within those creatures he would do all within his powers to let that child feel welcomed, and treated properly. So long as it agreed to his deal of not harming or attacking anyone. He felt a bit at ease with the heads calmed down. He had a big smile plastered under his helmet, and to make the situation feel even more welcoming he did something a bit ill advised. Dante reached with both of his hands onto the helmet and removed it.
He showed a big smile, and eyes that showed no fear, only warmth, and welcoming thoughts. He donned golden hair that was short, and a softer looking face compared to his booming voice. He watched the child, as she sat very close. His smile of warmth didn't fade, and he instead took the helmet and energetically tried to place the thing on top of the childs head. This was meant to feel like a brother playing around a little bit with his little sister. The heads that slithered around him seemed to try to put up some ominous aura, but Dante simply smiled as they slithered around him. He used his immense strength, strength that could lift vehicles almost with ease, and stood like a rock, pushing back against the heads that slithered around him. After successfully, or unsuccessfully putting the helmet on his 'sister' he moved his hands to reach out to the heads. He tried to grasp one of them, again using his inhuman strength to assert some sort of 'looming adult presence' and attempted to pet one of the wolves heads.
"We're all friends here right?" Dante tried to grasp the closest wolves head, and give it a bit of playful noogy. He wasn't sure how his loud personality would come through to the different personalities, but it was better than always standing on guard. Dante had knowledge of plants for medicinal uses, and some knowledge of anti-venoms in case he was actually bit, and he felt his strength could possibly lift the entire creature, possibly even fully revealed, so thinking he could start lobbing off heads if things turned sour he abandoned all his restraint. Not knowing the true weight of Calipseye however was a bit worrying. She said she wouldn't attack anyone, so possibly a good friend would make that true for all days. He would judge her character on how she reacted to someone who truly wanted to make her smile.
"And come on, just take some water from the fountain.. It's a lot more difficult to move the thing. And it'll probably break apart. Then the water will spill out, and it'll help no one."
A growl escaped from the little Calipseye as well as the serpents present. They weren’t a lost cause. Everyone else was. Right…? ‘He reminds me of mom…’ a shy voice spoke out. Immediately hushing them with a rather hard punch to the body of the wolf serpent, Calipseye remained quiet, remorseless as the wolf whimpered in pain. “That mom is dead. Dad is too. They killed him, and we ate them. Remember?” The voices in her head agreed, as did the wolf.
‘Calipseye “silently” thought about Dante’s words. He did have a point, and nearly every one of her had to admit it: they couldn’t hunt anything if they kept fighting. An internal argument then broke out, but the serious Calipseye, still occupying the main body, remained in control. They all would be foolish to challenge it. She blocked out the voices, even as more wolf serpents slowly emerged, two lightly fighting with each other, and the other duo resting on the ground, circling Dante and Calipseye. As they hovered around and lie, they took care to not touch Dante, as they now knew there was no point in nudging him around; it wouldn’t work.
It would seem like Calipseye couldn’t keep control over them all, as at the mention of money, she asked in a playful voice, “What’s money?” It was indeed true that they didn’t know what it was, minus the colder wolf of course, and they didn’t care much for it, the gleam in her eyes vanishing as the callous demeanor returned.
Then, the man did something rather unexpected. As he took off the helmet, the two playing wolves freaked out. Calipseye simply stared right into Dante’s rather pleasant eyes with endless hunger and coldness, the exact opposite of the aura the armored man was emitting. ‘HE HAS ANOTHER FACE!’ cried a voice, absolutely confused by the sudden change. Calipseye face palmed as more voices chipped in. ‘His hair is shiny…’ ‘He’s roaring at us! Roar back, roar back! DO IT!’ “He’s laughing,” corrected Calipseye, now wondering how half of her was this dumb, only to remember that very rarely did they hear someone laugh without it meaning “I’m scared”. The longer Calipseye stared at Dante’s smiling face, the more she rethought her stance on him even remaining intact. Finally, after three minutes of uncomfortable staring, Calipseye the serious allowed the other Cali’s to do what they wanted, retreating to a wolf head’s consciousness to keep watch with more powerful teeth.
As quick as she left, Puer, the childlike Calipseye, gained control, changing her attitude altogether. She smiled up at Dante, rather liking his seemingly playful nature. The moment Dante moved to put the helmet on top of Cali’s head, the wolf staring at them from behind expressed their obvious disapproval with a very loud bark, sending the remaining onlookers running away in terror, only to be shushed by internal upset voices. Cali meanwhile let the metal sink onto her small head and giggled. Cali watched as Dante began petting a nearby wolf head, the wolf for some reason allowing it.
“Weird! That one is the shy one!” Cali said, still holding onto the helmet on her head, not wanting to give it up anytime soon. Internally, Calipseye, the more serious of the main four, knew that Dante was seen as more than the next meal by a few of the wolves, which only made her stare at the wolf being petted in disbelief. Dante’s loud attitude only bothered a few, minor, personalities, and didn’t truly matter to the others. “Yeah we’re friends!” Cali said, her vision completely blocked by the helmet which was now on backward. Busy gnawing on the insides of the helmet, the voices again made themselves known.
‘STOP!’ a voice yelled in her head said, watching from the wolf’s eyes as Cali soaked the interior with her venomous salvia. “What?” ‘Stop biting the thing! That’s metal!’ “It’s not metal, it’s soft inside! Wanna taste?” ‘NO!!’ another voice roared, clearly annoyed.
The argument continued until the wolves lost interest, and Cali took off the helmet, holding it close to her person. “Sorry, I got my poison on it. It won’t hurt you though! WE promise! Right?” Her words sounded sincere, nudging a nearby wolf. The wolf, however, ignored her.
“I guess just taking some water is okay… we can just go to the lake later, just me and you, and then we can go hunting together maybe?” Cali, whether Dante liked it or not, was now willing to follow and do anything with her new friend, much to the immense disapproval of the serious wolf. Whether they attacked him tomorrow highly depended on what went down in her head... and how Dante would react to it.

Dante quirked a brow upon hearing one of the wolves banter out loud. Mom and Dad dead before they were eaten? Did this mean the heads didn't kill her Mother and Father? Dante tried not too think too much on the whole situation. He needed to stay strong and resolute if he was to continually show these wolves that he was strong enough to not be meddled with. When he made his point about them needing to work together in order to fight the air seemed still for a bit. None of the heads seemed to disagree with him. Well at least all of them were pretty smart then. A few of the heads broke out into fights, some circled the two, and Dante had a hard time keeping track of all the other heads, if there were more about. He had a decent amount of trust built up that this thing wasn't going to just attack him out of the blue.
"What's money?" Calipsey asked. Dante looked at her confused. "Your either playing dumb, or have just taken everything you've ever wanted." Dante spoke sternly. "Money is what you use in place of bartering. If someone has something you want, you can exchange some money for it." Dante looked into the main bodies eyes. He wanted to know if she was just fucking with him or not. This was no regular child after all, and most children would have a grasp of money at her age right? Dante would teach them young of responsibilities and believed other parents would do the same. Or maybe she's just been on her own since the parents death? Dante was a tad confused on how to approach the situation.
When Dante removed his helmet the Wolves seemed to have an interesting reaction. Confusion, and surprise maybe. He noted the coldness he could feel emanating from the main body however but kept composure in his smile, and warmth. It was not the first time he met someone who was cold to him. This child still confused Dante greatly, because after 3 minutes or so the whole personality of the main body shifted. Now Dante was getting a smile out of the child. Dante could hear the bark from the wolf behind him as he placed the helmet on Calipseyes head. He still did it, expecting to be attacked if it disapproved so much. When one of the wolves allowed him to pet it, he thought maybe he was getting through to this generally large and curious creature.
"This one's the shy one eh? Well perhaps It can come out and talk to me a bit more. I wouldn't mind letting it practice it's social skills." Dante didn't pressure the shy wolf head too much, but perhaps giving some sort of control to a wolf that seemed to like him would be beneficial. Not that he had any idea how her system of wolves worked. When she agreed that they were friends Dante couldn't help but wonder if he was going a bit in over his head.
He watched as she started soaking his helmet in some sort of saliva. It looked dangerous to touch. When she took off the helmet and explained that she got her poison on it Dante groaned and looked rather upset. "You clearly meant to do that! So why are you saying sorry?!! I swear, I wouldn't spit on your dress, so don't spit in my helmet okay? Friends treat each other with a bit of a decency." He eased off a bit. "You need to treat things like that with respect, it took many skilled workers to craft what you hold in your hands." When Cali began talking about going to the lake together to hunt Dante looked at her curiously. "Sure why not, I think Deer is in season right now. But I'm a bit better at finding rabbits."
It was very true they took absolutely everything they wanted. Even those with power that rivaled their own meant absolutely nothing when four massive canines are charging you with bloodlust. From babies to adult men, very few were safe. The childlike Cali remained in control as she answered Dante with honesty. "Yup! Everything and anything, anything and everything!"
Calipseye listed closely as Dante explained how money worked, looking back into his staring eyes with the same intensity, the lurking wolf head doing the same. "That sounds like... a lot of work... we just take stuff. Never heard of money before." Cali shrugged as she finished before stopping to glance at the wolf head beside her. Raising a brow, she turned back towards the armored man confused. "What's bartering?" The question sparked internal conflict in her head, the wolves around the duo beginning to fight with each other, wondering how one of them didn't know what bartering was. If the callous, serious wolf knew, all of them did too... right?
As Dante's tone changed to a more upset one, Cali frowned. "I'm saying sorry because I'm sorry..!" she began, as her more anger driven side began to take over. Her face was now riddled with absolute disgust as she was mere moments from going off on Dante, uncaring of if they would survive a head on fight with him. "It's not spit you stupid metal man it's POISON! We said it won't hurt you so it won't hurt you!!" At this point, the other wolves began to look at the main body with interest. After all, if any Cali decided to attack, they all had to commit. All except one. The serious wolf simply stared at the main body with irritation. "Do you want it to hurt?! I'll bite and paralyze you and watch you scream then we'll see how much of a little-" Her words were cut off as her face went blank, all anger present fading away in an instant.
Snapping out of her daze, Calipseye continued. "Sorry," she began, her voice now very soft and fragile. "It's... my fault, really... I'm sorry..." The shy Calipseye, now in the main body, looked down at the ground as the wolves returned to their own activities around Dante. "The um poison really won't hurt... we can control it... wanna see?" At this, the serious canine watching them grinned, curious to see if the man would actually let Cali bite him. "Well if not... I can show you on a bunny?" Calipseye knew none of her would back down from the opportunity to bite something... or someone. Knowing this, she made a great mental effort to hold the heads at bay as she continued talking to Dante, not wanting to hurt him.

Everything and anything? Dante groaned slightly. When Calipseye went off saying it sounded like a lot of work Dante chimed in. "Of course it's a lot of work! What do you think shows more character? Someone who has not struggled, and have taken everything they wanted, and earned no one's respect, or admiration, or someone who struggled but has gone through the struggles, earned admiration and respect from everyone?" Dante looked at her with a confident air to him. "I personally would prefer to hang around people who have the admiration, and respect, of those around them. Not that I'm saying hanging out with you is bad, but the better a person is at dealing with rules, generally the better person they are."
When they went off about the poison spit Danted crossed his arms letting them blow off whatever steam they needed to get out. The threatening words weren't very entertaining however. Then when the "Sorry.." Came out of the girls mouth Dante uncrossed his arms, and made sure he was eye level with the girl. When they said they could control the poison Dante shrugged, even he wasn't stupid enough to just out and let one of these things bite him. What kind of control did they possess over this poison? Did that mean they could turn it on and off at will, even while it was in his blood stream? "I believe you, but if it's true that means watching off the helmet in the fountain water won't contaminate the fountain water?
He reached a hand out trying to place it on the girls shoulder. "I also want to ask you what type of friends you would prefer to have around you. Flaky friends, who don't respect one another. Or serious friends who respect and help one another out. I feel perhaps you have a lacking of friends you can depend on, otherwise maybe you wouldn't resort to violence. I'm at least hoping that's the case."
"If I could support you would you resort to killing other people? Well at least the people that aren't attacking you.. Even I kill in defense." Dante asked her with a serious look in his eyes.
He wanted to shift the moment back to a light hearted one, possibly throwing her over his shoulders so they could go off to the hunt, but he needed to know if she was a lost cause, if he gave her a supportive environment would she be able to become some one with which he could trust.
