Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

The suburbs of Lorsette were so beautiful -- well, everything to Maryam was beautiful, but this part of the city really resonated with her for some odd reason. Everything looks the same... She thought, Am I dreaming...? She sat down in the dirt just outside one of the many duplicate apartment complexes, rubbing her eyes in a lazy attempt to remind herself if she was still awake. "Nope, I'm awake... I think..." Regardless, she was close to falling asleep anyway, even on the dirt. Dirt was soft, and soft was good, at least that's how Maryam saw it. She would let a yawn escape her body before slowing standing back up, swiveling her head left and right to try and remember where she was going. "I think I'm lost..." She proclaimed, then began to walk in a random direction again. She could just levitate so she could see over all the tall buildings, but she'd rather stay on the ground because it was comfier. Plus, she was afraid of heights.
The lost spirit traveled mostly in her physical form so she could wear whatever she wanted. Her outfit of choice was nothing more than a pair of shorts and a long sweater. In spirit form, temperature didn't really matter, but she didn't like the grotesque school uniform bound to it, so she chose to stay in tangent with the Earth. It was better that way. Now, why was Maryam aimlessly walking around the suburbs? Well, she was 90% sure her house was there. Somewhere. But it was difficult to know because to her everything looked about the same, and she didn't think about knocking on all the doors until she found hers... wait... that was actually a good idea...
Before she even thought to start harassing people in their homes, something caught her eyes: It was a flower bed. Immediately intrigued, Maryam waddled over to it and nearly faceplanted into the dirt, barely catching herself with her elbows. Then, naturally, she would inhale the sweet scent of her new friends. "Ahh... smells like flowers..."
Amari was upset. Like. Super super ultra mega upset. Her favourite cafe was out of the vanilla syrup that made up her favourite caffeinated drink, and her mood had severely plummeted because of it. She dragged her heels along the ground before drooping into the seat of an oak bench as if she herself were a syrup, right next to a bed of pastel-coloured flowers, and looking longingly at the plastic lid of her cup.
Okay, this whole scenario wasn’t actually making her quite as depressed as she was making it out to be, but she was still pretty bummed out about it. Bummed out enough to temporarily zone out of her coffee addiction when she went to order earlier, and have something the barista recommended instead; something they said was “relaxing”. Rose tea. Fortunately as a regular, the barista already knew to add several sugars to make up for the lack of vanilla that satisfied Amari’s sweet tooth, but the flavour just wasn’t what she wanted... At least it smelled nice though, but the taste was too peculiar for her- or so she protested…
Amari waited there for a moment, before suddenly the pink hair of a cute gorl popped up before her, moving from sniffing the flowers, to sniffing her lid of her paper cup.
Amari blinked.
“Do you… Want a sip?” The sphinx girl asked, half in surprise by the half asleep girl in front of her, yet somehow calmly enough for her to not panic.
It didn't matter what or where the occasion, Maryam NEVER passed up an opportunity to play in a flower bed. Sure, it was messy, filled with bugs, and just a slight bit unorthodox, but it made her happy nonetheless. Plus, no harm came out of it...most of the time. She had come to find out that some people were very protective of their gardens, and others gave it no mind, so she at least had to be careful when it came to where her nose let her venture. At the very least, it was a more constructive hobby than others.
After a few minutes of rolling around in the dirt, Maryam finally found a flower to take with her on her journey. She carefully plucked it out of its resting spot and packed it just under her scarlet bow. The smile on her face would make it seem as if she had found ancient treasure, but that was just how she reacted to most things. It took very little to please Maryam, as she saw joy in practically everything. She would finally reemerge into the outside world as she sprung back up on her feet, only to come face to face with a another stranger...with very beautiful wings. She seemed to be in some sort of distress.
Before she could share her greetings with her potential new friend, the winged girl had offered her a 'sip' of some round cylinder thing... Maryam's memories of beverages were few and far between, and what she did remember was currently hiding behind her excitement. Needless to say, her thinking was much less straight than usual. Hastily, she extended her arm for the cup, confirming it was okay for her to take it. Then...
Splash!
...
Oh god. She didn't really just do that, did she...?
...
Nope. She absolutely did.
Now, sipping is a very simple concept. You lift the cup up to your mouth and slowly tilt it so liquid comes out and you can control how much you take in. Well, Maryam skipped step one and went straight into step three, spilling the hot beverage all over her head, soaking her clothes in warm, butchered tea. Fortunately, Maryam's hair had absorbed most of it, but less fortunately, the flower she had just plucked was swept out of her hair and drenched in the warm brown river that crept down Maryam's body.
She was a mess. And on the verge of tears. She just ruined this poor girl's life, what ever would she do!?
