Katya Visse inside your heart shall burn general info
appearance Katya is around 5'8" (152 cm) weight around 135 lbs (61 kg). Her build is athletic, a little more on the slender side with slight muscle definition but nothing too impressive. Scarlet-hued locks that are naturally straight flow to her mid-back. Her eyes are the same hue as her hair with a slight gold ring around the center of the iris. Katya is naturally pale due to her half-vampire heritage. She prefers casual, darker clothing that is form fitting and does not limit her ability to fight. Rarely does Katya dress to stick out in a crowd. Despite her line of work Katya has very few openly displayed scars. The most noticeable scars are a large cleave over her left chest and a questionable triangular shaped scar between her shoulder blades. When katya spends too much time near bright sunlight the frontal scar tends to hurt. Additionally, on her the inside of her right wrist is a singular tattoo of a black lotus, its meaning unknown to all but her. Overall Katya paints a daunting figure. Even when she smiles individuals tend to be uncomfortable. There is a certain intensity reminiscent of a bright burning fire within her eyes that prevents the average person from talking to her. Fortunately enough, Katya prefers to be avoided in this way. personality
The traits that make Katya able to life free from most human interaction also damn her to a life of solitude. She does not shy from the truth, often being candid with others to the point of rudeness. In Katya's eyes a lie is only worth its effort if something is gained from it. Life has made her somewhat resilient to change and often, like water, she flows with these changes unaffected by the consequences that come with it. Katya is detail oriented with a high sense of awareness. This does not make her impervious to surprises but rather when they do occur she is often more prepared for them. To truly catch Katya off guard is an achievement in itself. Rational logic is preferred over emotions. This is the first of Katya's double-edged sword of weaknesses. She doesn't acknowledge any emotions that would be perceived as weaknesses and is therefore self-dismissive of her emotional needs and feelings. Anger and pain serve as her primary motivators in life. Katya evaluates situations based on logic instead of personal feelings. Much of her preference for solitude stems from her inability to acknowledge and process positive emotions properly. She never lets others by her emotional barriers because that would welcome weakness. Katya is often cynical of others, doubting their good intentions even when they are being genuine. She has no qualms about being rude, cruel, or mean if it serves a purpose but does not condone senseless violence. With that said, if anyone were ever to get close to her she would be fiercely protective of them - even if she wouldn't admit it. Furthermore, if anyone were to hurt her or those she associated with they would be relentlessly pursued. She is prone to holding grudges and often seeks vengeance for pierced slights. These would have to be substantial slights resulting in death or heavy bodily injury for Katya to pursue them though. In Katya's world, forgiveness doesn't exist. abilities Peak Human Strength - average. Due to her half-vampire heritage, Katya is able to lift items three to four times her body weight. Items weighing 400lbs (181kg) or less can be lifted with slight exertion and, dependent on an adrenaline rush, items weighing up to 500lbs (226kg) can be lifted with moderate to severe exertion. The human portion of her blood limits this ability. Under no circumstances can heavy objects be lifted for a long duration of time without strain or consequence to her body. Katya does not possess superhuman strength so any creature that does would be able to easily overpower her. Peak Human Speed - average. Katya exhibits peak human speed. This means that at best she can run faster than the average human. Maximum running speed for humans is 28 mph (45kmh). Therefore Katya is able to run and swim only slightly faster than her human counterparts. In a fight, this is the difference between life and death. Peak speed, however, does not come with peak endurance therefore maximum running speed will tire her out like it would any human. Blood Manipulation - strong. Her primary talents lie in Katya's ability to manipulate blood. As a dhampir she is able to regain energy and strength from ingesting blood but does not need it to survive. Her blood manipulation abilities are limited to her own blood. She cannot affect the blood of others though she is highly in tune with heartbeats and blood compositions. If Katya is able to touch the blood of another she will be able to track them for twenty four hours. Additionally, others that ingest her blood can sometimes be intoxicated dependent on that person's metabolism. Earth creatures are more susceptible than heaven and purgatory creatures. Hell creatures are naturally immune to this effect. Lastly Katya is able to establish a blood link with one person by exchanging small amounts of blood with them. This link can be severed and the only real benefit of this manipulation is that Katya can track the individual. Severing the bond is highly uncomfortable. This skill is different from blood tracking because it serves as a two-way link. Vodoo - weak. Her affinity for vodoo is poor, mostly because it was never trained. Traditional manipulation voodoo via symmetry is something that she cannot perform. At most Katya is able to conduct small trades for minimal chances at material items, e.g. trading a favored item for luck or success but she rarely dabbles in the art at all due to a bad experience she had a while back. There is always a price for these magics and often Katya is unwilling to pay it. There are a handful of voodoo poultice recipes/rituals she is familiar with but nothing that produces a significant effect. Telekinesis - decent. Katya's ability to telekinese objects is subject to her mood. When angry her abilities are much stronger than at rest. When compared to other dhampirs her skills would be considered basic. She can almost always move light objects but heavier objects require more effort. Objects less than or equal to 30lbs (13kg) are easy whereas objects over 30lbs (13kg) require more concentration. On rare occasions she may be able to influence objects > 100lbs (45kg) but this will only occur in high-adrenaline scenarios. Using this ability often drains her energy quickly so she uses it sparingly. Night vision (natural) Like all dhampirs, Katya is able to see in the dark. Species-related Weaknesses: Holy Water - burns, increased scaring with use. However, damage is delayed somewhat due to human heritage. Sunlight - increased susceptibility to sunburns, high potential of death from prolonged exposure to the sun backstory "Sometimes that life feels like a dream.." [ 1601 to 1647 ] In the year 1601 Katya Magdalena Visse was the first child born to Magdalena Visse, a human, and Vrail Visse, a vampire. As prominent members of the polish elite the family wanted for very little. Shortly after Katya’s birth, her mother was turned into a vampire. Even with the threat of Zeredah omnipresent the Visse bloodline kept to themselves, throwing their allegiance on neither side. Madgalena and her husband would have two more children over the next few decades: Ilona and Micha. Since all of her family members were full blooded vampires Katya lived a similar life of darkness without question. It was often her duty to run errands during the day as the others could not. Nearly a century passed in this peaceful existence. During this time, they mostly fed on blood from willing servants or fresh livestock with no ill intent towards their neighboring species. "Looking back, I should have known better." [ 1648 to 1701 ] The year of 1648 saw the rise of turmoil against nobility in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, forcing the Visse family to relocate to a much more isolated, less lavish estate. It was here that Magdalena began her slow mental decline. Plagued by incessant nightmares Magdalena’s mind began to unravel. So much so that she stopped drinking blood entirely. Without any logic or semblance of her person left, it was nearly impossible to control her. Despite Vrail’s best attempts to care of his ailing wife, one wintry night she managed to break free and slaughtered an entire village. In return they were branded hell spawn – unfit to walk this earth. Yet another reason for Zeredah’s followers to claim earth dwellers and hell kin should remain isolated from each other. Only the screams of her sister awoke Katya that night. All around her burned a fire so hot it threatened to consume her very soul. Try as she might to reach her sister, Katya could barely even save herself and her brother. While Vrail, Katya, and Micha escaped, Ilona perished. Devastated, the remaining trio set off to central Europe to escape further persecution. "Mica was right to leave but i'll never forgive him." [ 1702 to 1800 ] With no remaining fortune Katya and her family lived a life unhinged. During the day Katya was charged with luring unsuspecting victims for her brother and father to feast upon. At night Vrail scrounged for any work that would allow them to continue to rent the tiny, disheveled space they called home. But whispers of political unrest continued to plague them. Mica, after a heated discussion with their father, forsook his family ties and left. Katya was devastated by this, clinging desperately to her only remaining relative: her father. Even despite the stability that soon came into their life Katya couldn’t help but question her father’s nightly work. He would be gone all night, his dealings never revealed to her. How had they come into money so suddenly? Vrail claimed secrecy and Katya, ever an obedient daughter, didn’t question it… at first. Eventually the bonds that had brought father and daughter together began to fray. After nearly a century of following her father blindly, Katya could no longer ignore the suspicious activities of her father. "Your betrayal really did hurt me the most, but it also taught me that blood means nothing." [ 1801 to 1900 ] Katya, having developed her talents under the tutelage of her father, trailed him on one of his nighttime rendezvous only to discover that he had become heavily involved in what would eventually be the Assembly of Phantoms. But while she thought this was the extent of his strange behavior, she was wrong. Vrail was aware of his daughter’s presence and promptly signaled that she should reveal herself. Naturally, Katya obliged. It was then and there that Vrail revealed he’d orchestrated Magdalena’s nightmares and the attack on their family. They were all supposed to perish in the fire save Vrail, who claimed that he had always been an avid follower of Zeredah’s mandates. Katya’s early awakening had saved herself and her brother however which Vrail hadn’t planned for. Somehow, he thought her useful enough to keep around. Katya felt betrayed by this information but her torment wasn’t about to end there. The next decision would change her life forever: join her father or die. Against everything she had been shaped into, Katya resisted. Her reward was a nearly fatal wound with a blade delivered by Vrail’s hands himself. Believing his daughter about to perish, Vrail and company departed. Though left to die, Katya managed to pull herself together and flee Europe. "Trusting anyone but yourself will only get your killed." [ 1901 to 2000 ] Time wore her down. The person Katya had been, the feeble weak-minded obedient fool, began to erode and in her place stood someone nearly unrecognizable. Nobody was to be trusted. She had to become stronger both mentally and physically. Katya trained herself to fight and eventually began to take up work. At first it was simple jobs like protecting a charge and then eventually she progressed to more… intricate work. Her disregard for the lives of others was at first a forced behavior but eventually it became who she was. Ignoring emotions was much better than being controlled by them. Somehow Katya found her way to Lorsette, Canada where she would remain for the next twenty years building a clientele for her services. "Lorsette, ending up hear was probably a mistake." [ 2000 to current ] Due to her history, Katya has no love for the Assembly of Phantoms. With the knowledge of her father still among their ranks she tends to avoid the members entirely. However, she is not nearly charitable enough to involve herself in the affairs of the Terror Response Force either. The result is a life lived in constant neutrality. Katya has few goals aside from survival. Though, she promised herself if she ever saw Vrail again she would kill him on sight. That is a promise she intends to keep. misc Spoiler alert: Ilona is not dead At some point wanted adds for Vrail, Ilona, and Mica will be coming! . | roleplayer info ☆ NAME Vasya ☆ RP EXPERIENCE 10+ Years ☆ TIMEZONE EST ☆ GENDER Female ☆ AGE Old enough ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS n/a ☆ FACE CLAIM FATE GRAND ORDER, Maou Nobunaga ---------------------- THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO VASYA.
