Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Failure to post on this AC will result in your accounts being marked inactive or deleted. Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
You can't cheat death when you're digging your own grave ―
Everything in his life has changed, but it always fails to surprise him. He had prepared to face constant change since the day he had been ordered to flee from his home by his ravaged mother, injured and coated in blood both his own and not. For now he remained in his maned wolf form, hiding from common view. The air was adrift with many kinds of scents, as he trots along with his long legs eating up the miles. Dust was coated into his rich cinnamon fur, and it was looking matted in places. He finds a spot beside the lake to pause, tall cattails creating an interesting mini forest. He sits himself back upon his haunches, and begins grooming his bedraggled fur. Tugging knots from bright colored fur, he scowls at the nasty taste of all the dirt and grime.
Once his mouth starts to begin to dry up, he takes a drink of the lake beside him. Diving back into his grooming session, he will stop at nothing to make his fur silky smooth. Licking the last few strands of messed fur into place, his ears swivel at a splashing noise. He turns his head towards the surface of the water, to see the tail of a fish slide back under the surface. Lifting himself back onto his paws, he pads over to the water's edge, and stares down into the water. There were many fish swimming there, fat and plump. Good eating, right? Could he manage to catch one?
What would he do if he didn't catch one? He tilts his head as he watches them swim, before leaping in after one. His paws slammed down on one, and he quickly thrust his head down to clamp them around it. His jaws lift as he wrenches it from the water, wet droplets scattering everywhere. He shakes some of the moisture from his fur, before another sound makes his ears twitch. He can see the cattails rustling and moving, telling him someone lurked there. Keeping his tail clamped at his haunches and slinking low and defensively, he hurries into a different section of cattails. Dropping the fish he had snatched onto the ground, his ears swivel as the cattails rustle once more. Dipping his snout to the fish to tear it open and enjoy his meal, he only gets a few bites in before the cattails rustle closer. Did they want his fish?
He lifts his head and stares at the rustling cattails, loosing a low growl from deep in his chest. He crouches over his meal possessively, and tries to intimidate the intruder with a roaring bark when he sees them move closer. He lowers his head and digs into his meal again, while keeping his eyes on where the cattails rustled. His eating is quickened, so that he could possibly slip away before they revealed themself. After there is naught but bones and scales, his paws slowly start to creep back towards the water. He was taller than most other creatures, so it could be an easy form of escape. Just a she is about to step into the water, he sees a blur of shadow and movement. A low growl boils in his throat, as his stance becomes defensive.
you feel guilty about it, but you genuinely and strongly dislike dogs. the small ones are asking to be sat on. the big ones are blood-curdling. what are the odds of finding a big, mangy, maned one in the middle of a pond? dogs just make you feel guilty.
Grace embodied in the form of a woman as she trip-staggers over a knot in the pond flora and comes inches between the edge of the shore, the water, and what her eyes clearly register as a beast. She straightens up slowly (and keeps straightening... keeps straightening... she's about as tall as the cattails.) [break][break]
Her left hand hoists black pumps by the heels. Her right is dripping wet. [break][break]
She is frozen in place; she holds herself rigid with distaste - her shoulders tensed - but it's fear holding her there. And the woman's eyes are all-consuming, absorbing every aspect of fur and haunches, those long legs, that wild-weathered look, and those lips drawn back in territorial indiscrimination – every aspect achieving the façade of "Very Big Wild Dog." As she extends in a whisper, "Good boy... nice dog... who's, a good boy?" Gradually, subtly, the woman's arms lift into a surrender, but she stands, reluctant to move anymore. [break][break]
With a bated tension established: between the black of the woman's dress, that and her gaze drifting downwards at the bones rinsed with the lazy, lapping pond-water, she appears to mourn. She seems to feel sorry for those fish. [break][break]
It was then my offhand reference to djinn lore became an actual thing that actually matters in a thread.
