asami saki please don't touch my RAF. general info
appearance Asami “Rat-Hound” Saki has Turner syndrome which has affected her kidney growth and breast development as well as stunted her; she stands at 5’ 3” in human form, 5’ 8” bipedal in feral. Asami doesn’t have a lot of visual indicators of the syndrome, the former withstanding, and since nineteen has been taking ERT to promote the growth of her figure, though not at the rate she would like. As it stands, Asami is petite with a wide-eyed, “baby face” countenance. Her hair grows in fine and there’s a lot of it, growing in all over in snares as a full moon approaches. She counteracts a wiry build with regular cardio and martial art practice. Ignoring some insecurities, the most lasting effects of Asami’s health have been on her hearing and sight, and in response, her lycan forms have adapted a higher sensitivity to her surroundings. She has also needed to subvert the typical muscularity of lycanthropes, instead possessing a lean, more terrier-like build preferring dexterity over raw power. Even in her feral form, Asami stays low to the ground with developed hindlegs and thick, sloughing layers of snow-white fur, a black mask earning her nickname of “Rat-Hound.” This preternaturally otherwise evades her innocent human form, though Asami’s eyes may give it away: a deep amber-brown, as she hits that switch in her back-consciousness to shift, her pupils shrink, adapt, and start to shine a deep blue-black. But Asami has since swore off shifting until emergencies. She’s usually witnessed in particularized outfits, mimicking an idealization of casual street-style. She likes patterns, and “ironic” statements like suspenders, tights. She likes layers, too, probably out of self-consciousness, probably too due the burns on her arms. She always finds unique ways to pin her hair out of her ears so she can hear what people are saying. She has a high, semi-nasally voice that matches her face and is both fluent and literate in Japanese, Canadian-English, and Latin. personality Likes: Halloween, dabs, the color grey; Hates: Philosophy, small font, her body; Fears: Losing a family member, losing or breaking a prized possession, getting arrested; All things considered, Asami’s adjustment to civilization has gone pretty well, in those seventeen years developing a mellow and affable disposition. She is one to adapt to new situations. Asami drops niceties quick when she feels she’s being disrespected; even then, she tends to be blunt when offended, never temperamental. She wears a bit of a shell in new social scenarios, treating interaction like a trade, unless in circles of open, casual personalities. Her family and friends could describe her as a “calming presence” since Asami’s reservation makes her more likely to keep darker feelings to herself. Neither extrovert nor introvert, neither emotional nor robotic: neutral in all fronts; Asami can come across as unmotivated from her lax lack of bias and prominent sense of rationale, both which incite her to look from either sides of a situation, or flip them, at will. Loyalty does come naturally to her, however; it's just doing the “same ol’” makes her restless. Emotionally-reserved herself, Asami solves conflicts through compromise on her part and otherwise doesn’t know how to address it. She wishes she had what it took to keep a group of people together. She’s more emotionally-motivated than even she would expect, still struggling with those feelings of un-belonging rooted in her youth. But that restlessness and that flexibility have only thrived so much in Asami’s traditionalist family. The only ways she can create novelty these days is by stirring unrest herself. This thrill-seeking has developed into a sort of kleptomania – or Asami already had kleptomaniac tendencies and this brought it out of her; she’s not a psych major. Of the items she lifts, Asami feels protective and will guard them aggressively – she’s equally defensive of her mask. So far she sates the itch by pocketing little pocket-sized things, but Asami can’t pretend she hasn’t been watching her calendar intently for a full-moon, stalking the hours of that gas station down 109. It seems so easy in her head… Asami does have some normal hobbies, too. When she isn’t studying or begrudgingly shouldering the mayor’s duties, Asami likes to spar; bar-hop with friends; watch documentaries; listen to music; do some pottery as relaxation. Asami doesn’t think she’s very interesting when she isn’t fantasizing robberies and is used to saddling the background for bigger personalities. abilities Natural Ability(ies): High Endurance Enhanced Strength: Asami’s feral form is muscle-deficient considering most of her endurance is in regards to high running stamina and padding by her coat. She has a bite capable of snapping bone and hindlegs that can deal a nasty kick but otherwise lacks the potency inherent to an average lycanthrope. Her human form remains stronger than a human with equal physical training in her same condition. This is more in terms of leg strength than in cases like deadlifting. The benefit of being weaker for Asami is it necessitates strength in other areas and is easier to control in the incidents it has to be. Enhanced Speed: What Asami is essentially built to do. She’s fast and dexterous about it, making split-decision turns. In her feral form, she can reach roughly 32 mph comfortably, and in her wolf form, closes in on the upper 40s, though in the higher echelons she loses fine control and may suffer cognitively. This is her upper limit; new moons cut her movement speed dramatically, to the point she considers it too disorienting to function. In most other instances, Asami’s reflexes are on point in all forms. Full moons have her able to discern and react to fast, small projectiles – other nights, she can anticipate larger things, and maybe catch a melee fighter off-guard, is overall hard to surprise. She displays more ability for nuance in her feral form than the average lycanthrope. Increased Senses: Asami lacks far-sight and some hearing capability, but she is tuned in to sensations, namely changes in temperature and barometric pressure. Her nose is potent: given a source, she’ll find you. This also means Asami is sensitive to loud, sudden noises to the point of debilitation, the same regarding attacks on her sense of smell. General Weaknesses: Potent allergy to silver; 60 seconds of full vulnerability to turn from human to wolf; 50 seconds of full vulnerability to turn from human to feral. backstory Asami was raised by Toshiro and Naomi Saki among a smorgasbord of races and identities, the eclectic Saki Clan. Her life started then, by all intents and purposes, but sometimes memories ek in: cold slush and streaked skies; the rank of garbage; crevices in street-corners, underneath dumpsters and gaping sewer entrances. A stray dog was found outside the gates of their neighborhood by an older Saki brother. She was identified as “A-10” at the local shelter, a lycan transferred out of an isolationist living situation to Lorsette for medical attention, considering the conditions of her birth. And in not being Candian citizens by technicality, her parents relinquished custody of their child to save her life. Therein, Asami was kept on a leash, figuratively and literally as she lashed out at anyone outside of the young man who’d shown her initial kindness. Her father pried a hyper-fixative and tenacious nature out of her. A young Asami submerged in her father’s warrior culture, sent to train amidst distant cousins, and there she was forced onto two legs for those first, second, third years of her time in society. At age 12, Asami received an oni mask of her own: a blushing, porcelain cartoon face with wild eyes, a button nose, and a broad, toothless smile. It was hard to feel estranged, now, and she grew into her present mellow personality, as well as her debt to Toshiro Saki and his legacy. Out of her siblings, Asami probably understands the situation best; the Saki Clan having retained connections to Lorsette’s government lasting as far back as the War, its comprehension was a strategy for success. It’s an arranged family situation, albeit not an unloving one. Though Asami is also a subject of “middle child syndrome,” having the least expectations compared to her brothers and sisters. She doesn't live with her family but has a small apartment near her university campus. Her interests are her greatest priority. It isn’t to say there are no expectations: the reason she and her father have a close relationship is because it runs on compromises. For example, her father permits contact with her oni cousins for sparring again, something he called off in her mid-teens for disciplinary classes – in exchange, she gets a job. Through influence, Toshiro arranged a position for his daughter as an “intern” secretary at the mayor’s office (“intern” on paper; due to lack of staff, it’s a normal secretary’s level of work in practice.) Asami can shoulder some begrudging in favor of trust. She never felt her upbringing as “suffocating,” so she can’t always relate to the experiences of her other siblings, wishes she could hold her family together when it seems to be drifting apart. The memories are coming back to Asami in waves of nostalgia as she reaches out to those she previously spurned as a child. Newly mixed with glimpses of a future full of recklessness and extraordinary things. Sometimes, when she’ll go shopping, she’ll fix on a doodad like a small flashlight, an extra bag of chips, and leave with it, without paying. Sometimes, friends will come over to her dorm and leave things and she’ll… keep them. Asami wants the extent of the old days, running wild in the rain, and those things which are entirely new. University has brought her out of her high-class neighborhood and closer to the heart of the city, and while more dangerous, it invites a more general pool of people, some who may even support Asami’s secondary “interests,” for better or worse. misc • Her soulmate was a deer-shifter from Quebec. Hippie-spiritual type, thought a natural life was "the ideal," raised by a Guardian couple that defected from the War in favor of peace. Went for a joy-run shifted, darted across an under-lit highway at the wrong time... was recovered from a ditch. • Asami has noise anxiety as a result of living out of a dumpster with superhuman senses. Any gradual change associated with a loud noise will cause anticipatory anxiety, such as a change in barometric pressure before a thunderstorm, affiliated with thunder. Her signs are pacing and trembling and, in extreme cases, pursuing an exit or hiding. | roleplayer info ☆ NAME sable ☆ RP EXPERIENCE several untouched millenia ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS n/a ☆ FACE CLAIM PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA, nagisa momoe → WANTED CLAIM Here ---------------------- DIS CHARRIE BELONG 2 SABLE DU NO STEAL. |
