Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2022
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
With April, an activity check has arrived for members to do! Please post on the AC and tag all your accounts, including WIPs and OOC accounts. Failure to post on this AC will result in your accounts being marked inactive or deleted. Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
Vance listened to Maharo's question, somewhat surprised. "One could argue if they are good or not, but you certainly don't want to be a traitor to either one of them." He explained before adding, "Especially AP, I hear TRS is a little bit more lax when it comes to punishment but AP, it varies to a quick painless death to a slow painful one." He answered, trying to explain that AP was worse than TRS, even though he didn't favor the TRS either. "They've always been called by those names, so I doubt they were called anything else." He answered, having trouble believing it. Maybe from where he is from, neither side is all that popular. It would explain things. He was pulled from his thoughts when he heard Maharo's comment. "You aren't a burden to me. I just believed following me out made things worse for you is all." He admitted, once more trying to encourage Maharo to follow after him. The more distance they got between the bar and AP, the better off the both of them were in general. "So if your from a clan, where are they now? Perhaps I can lead you back to them?" He asked, unaware of how impossible a task that would be.
Listening carefully, Maharo tilted his head a little bit, and despite the explaining he still felt like they were probably bad. "My clan is weird about outsiders. They dont really give them any sort of name but something to mark they are outsiders." Maharo shrugged after speaking, knowing that his clan would very likely be thought very strange by anyone outside of it. He casts a subtle glance around them to see if there was anybody close, before continuing to follow Vance.
"You wouldn't be able to find them. They're a long way from here, and I wouldn't be able to find them from here myself. That's the main reason I'm all alone." For a moment the young kitsune looks down, feeling ashamed of himself. He should have always known the way home, but not this time. Maybe one day, someone from his clan would find him and lead him back. Or maybe he would carve out a life for himself here, as everyone who eventually leaves their mom and dad does.
Vance listened as Maharo spoke about his clan. "I see." He'd answer when Maharo had shrugged after finished speaking. He then glances around them when Maharo had, but to make sure that they hadn't been followed by AP. So far they were still alone. He listened as Maharo explained about his clan. He let out a sigh, finding this more difficult then he had once thought. "Did you want to go back there?" He asked, curious on what Maharo would tell him. It wasn't everyday you hear about a clan. Slowly he'd continue leading Maharo away from this place as they wandered around the city. "I mean this place is great and all, but I imagine you are possibly home sick." He answered, trying to explain his reason of belief.
Thoughtful, cautious. Did he miss home? Or just the people? If it was the people, did he even miss all of them? If he was already here, then, it would make sense to start a new life here and hope they would run across him at some point. If that happened, well, then he would be happy. He thinks so, at any rate. ”Mm, sort of, but also sorta not. I miss some of my family, but not everything.” It was complicated.
Maharo easily follows after him, okay with wandering, though he remains a little alert, though he shows it not. ”Maybe a little but.. I think it’ll be okay. I can’t stay with my family forever, right?” He sounds carefree, a little cheerful about it, but inside it feels a little bittersweet. He had always wandered but also always returned home. In a way, he had thought he would be with them forever.
Vance listened as Maharo answered his question, nodding his head as he remained silent. "I know that feeling all to well." He admitted quietly as he continued walking. He had mentioned his comment about being homesick and Maharo gave his answer. "I suppose you're right. I mean I moved here after all." He answered, going silent, somewhat regretting the fact he had mentioned that comment. He didn't want to say where he was from and couldn't help but hope that Maharo wouldn't be asking him. "Do you have a place to stay? I was planning on returning back home for the night." He answered, not talking about his parents home but being with Bram.
Did he have a place to stay? Not officially, but by now, probably a temporary place. ”My friend probably found a place we can crash at. I’ll be okay.” Maharo ponders for a little bit, before nodding to himself. He should go and try to find his friend, actually, now that question had been brought up.
Glancing around him to see if he had been around this area before, he thinks he recognizes a few of the landmarks. ”I imagine you’re wanting to get home, yeah? It’s getting late.” Well, later than it already was, anyways. Besides, he’s a little bit better at reading the air than he really lets on.
Vance listened as Maharo answered his question, "Oh I see." He answered in return, happy to hear the answer. He watched as Maharo looked around them, most likely looking for the friend that he was staying with. "Yes." He answered, somewhat guilty over leaving Maharo but at the same time wasn't completely sure if it would be a good idea to pick Maharo to his home or not. "I should get going." He added, feeling awkward for making the comment. "It was a pleasure chatting with you." He added before turning with the intention of walking away from Maharo.
She had to be somewhere around here, this looked vaguely like the spot they agreed to meet up at. Glancing around again he looked for a familiar shock of blonde hair, but there was no sign of her just yet. Maybe soon - though he would go on a search if he needed to. Maybe he would see Vance again? It was possible...
”You too! Thanks for the help!” He gave a cheerful smile and a wave, before turning and darting off after a flash of blonde hair. It was probably her - and even if it wasn’t - he would be okay. He recognized where he was now. Everything would turn out okay. It just had to.
