Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
when was the last time that she had actually gone out and had some fun? way too long it seemed. of course it took some time to convince him, but she managed it. they had tried their way of searching, maybe he would be out here. of course it had all been a lie to just get out of the house without having him breathing down her neck. at this point she didn’t care if they ever found him or not. it was nothing more than a waste of her time. that prick shirked his responsibilities so why couldn’t she do the same? you could tell she was excited for the event, she had even gone out shopping for a new dress. she figured since it was valentines day everyone was going to be wearing red.
she didn’t want to be like everyone else, she had settled for a black dress with lace detail. it was cute and she normally didn’t have anything to wear dresses for. why not treat herself once or twice. she showered and got dressed, hopefully there wouldn’t be too much snow around. she was wearing heels and had no desire whatsoever to freeze or accidentally step in snow. once she had finished slipping her shoes on, she brushed through her hair and applied a touch of make up, nothing to fancy. mascara on her lashes and a touch of red to her lips. with that she was ready to go.
she grabbed her coat and her purse and beckoned him to hurry up.”i don’t want to be late.”she told him as she made her way towards the car. within a few minutes they were at the restaurant.”i’ll text you, don’t have too much fun without me.”she said with a smile as she made her way inside. she wondered how many people had actually signed up for the event. would her date already be waiting there for her? she was finally brought to her table and she took off her coat draped it over her chair before having a seat. the server asked if she wanted anything to drink while she waited. she ordered water and waited for her date to arrive.

The day of lovers was never Avery favoured day. Valentine’s Day was merely another of the many work days in his week, at least, it usually was. Unlike the regular Valentine’s Days, Avery procured a date through methods he admittedly wanted to avoid. One of the children he cared for, Robyn, noticed his lack of friends and romantic relationships and decided signing him up was an excellent choice. The one-eyed man’s desires were discarded, completely ignored in favour of finding him a special someone. Unfortunately, the bodyguard was not over-zealous about the notions of love.
A soft sigh escaped Avery’s lips as he sorted through his potential attire. The male lycanthrope hardly possessed any special clothing. The obtained formal garbs were often designed for his shifts at formal parties opposed to dates. Either way, expectation weighed and Avery knew it was easier to follow "protocol" and match the events. There would be less obnoxious staring or gossipy whispers to handle. Thus, the one-eyed brunette plucked a white dress shirt and dark-coloured vest with a subtle shade of forest green.
The outfit was commonly wore during work events where there was no specific uniform, however, it would be suitable for the evening. The clothes were spread onto the bed while Avery returned to his closet to grab a pair of dark, near-black dress pants. Once satisfied with the choices, the man changed into the formal attire he chose for the evening. From the nearby dresser, Avery obtained his wallet, phone and keys to his motorcycle. Around his wrist was a specialized charm which assisted with his claustrophobia and acted as a temperature regulator.
Quietly, he moved through the home, slipping on a pair of shoes before tossing his large, black jacket over his shoulders. It swayed as he pulled the fringes closer, the edges reaching down to his calves. The buttons were done up before Avery reached door and exited through the threshold. Chilly night air surrounded him, breath turning to a faint, white cloud. He stood on the other side, eye locking on the stars above. His country home allowed him a pleasant view of the night sky on this particularly chilled evening.
Motionlessly, he admired the nature around him. The soft rustling of the trees in the gentle wind, the snow-topped trees stretching out around him and star-filled sky. He pondered what would become of this night, however, the cynic's mind insisted nothing good would rise. Chances were, his date was not looking for somebody with his ill-favourable appearance and phlegmatic personality. Either way, the unfortunate individual would be stuck with him for the evening. The lycanthrope shoved his hands into the depths of his pockets and allowed a sigh to breath through his lips.
He strolled towards his motorcycle, forest green eyes glancing over it before hauling himself on. Due to the side effects of his claustrophobia, he preferred it for comfort reasons. As Avery started the vehicle, it roared to life, the sounds of a loud motor filling his ears. A helmet was pulled on before he lifted his feet and sped through the country roads. From there, he weaved through until reaching the city streets where he followed the directions. When he arrived, the man pulled into one of the spaces, taking his key and slipping off the helmet.
The safety equipment was tucked beneath his arm while he approached the restaurant for the fated evening. He entered, approaching sign in where he provided his name before placing his helmet beside the coat rack and heading in. As he entered, the one-eyed man fiddled with his buttons, undoing them while he searched for his table. Slowly, he began narrowing down his options until noticing a table occupied by one familiar woman. A brow rose as Avery approached, his forest green eyes noticing the name tag placed on the adjacent seat to her.
"I was not expecting to see you here," he said as he stepped closer. "It appears I'm your date this evening, Miss Aurora."
The short-haired woman struck a memory of another evening where he was working. He remembered wandering the sidewalks to discover her running from something. The familiar brown locks, brown eyes accompanied by a slim physique were among her recognizable traits. The primary change was the black dress she wore, something decorated with lace accents. Clearly, she prepared herself for her upcoming date better than the one-eyed lycanthrope. She managed to groom herself beautiful, although, most men and women were attempting to look appealing.
The chair was adjusted, Avery undoing the final buttons before settling into the chair. He allowed his jacket to continue hanging around his shoulders. There would be nothing fancy about his behaviour, but he hoped on being tolerable.
how long had it been since that night? too many days to remember. she had texted him once she had gotten home, but after that not much was said. they really didn't have business with each other and it was only fun to tease him when she was there in person. this is why she had signed up. not to pretend to look for information, but because she knew surprises were always fun. she knew aiden was getting tried of searching with no results. it's probably why he didn't put up much of a fight when she told him she was going to attend the blind date thing.
she laughed softly."are you not working today?"just as he had said he hadn't been expecting her, she was thinking the same. how many times had he told her he was busy with work. work this work that. she hoped he didn't take her laughing the wrong way. then again it was hard to get him to react. which was such a fun challenge. out of all the people that she could of ended sitting across from, it was avery. it was rather funny to her."sorry, i mean it's nice to see you again avery."she told him with a smile.
"now i won't be as nervous."she winked at him. despite their short time together aurora felt pretty comfortable with him. he hadn't given her a reason not to plus he put up with all her jokes. she couldn't help that she joked at times that were suppose to be serious. she honestly was trying to get over the fact that she had been scared over nothing.

Dates were hardly considered Avery's forte, hence, Aurora's presence was somewhat a comfort for the bodyguard. Their initial interaction was brief, however, the short-haired woman never manifested discourse throughout their exchange. Naturally, there could always be a lurking evil beneath the kindest of faces, but Avery could tolerate Aurora. Unfortunately for the young woman, Avery's lack of expressiveness failed to evolve since their interaction. The bodyguard remained stony-faced and serious despite the location being advertised as a dating scene.
Although, a keener eye could barely notice the subtle ease captured in his body language. It suggested familiarity or slight notes of comfort through the regularly uncertain situation of a blind date. Their interaction could have some pleasantry, however, Avery still hoped he would not ruin Aurora's evening. The primary goal was assuring the individual who intended on signing up would enjoy the festivities. A soft laugh escaped his date's mouth as she inquired about him not working; their first interaction did feature a similar serious front.
"Not this evening," he answered solemnly.
Undoubtedly, his behaviour had not altered since the evening they first met. Formerly a pair of strangers who crossed on a sidewalk in the dead of night now acquaintances enjoying the evening. Her playful comments never bothered the one-eyed man, thus when she corrected, he provided a small shrug. Only moments after her apology, she mentioned her anxieties ceasing.
"It's fine, I'm not easily offended," he responded, finding the apology unnecessary. "I'm glad to hear. Although, I'm surprised we were matched considering the chances."
There were plenty of other tables, creating the assumption their match was sheer luck. It seemed unlikely they would be paired for the date, but Avery would not complain about it. His familiarity with Aurora meant she would already be aware of his phlegmatic behaviours.
she smiled at his reply. it was obvious avery liked to keep busy. what he did on his days off, if and when he had them. she did not know. the first time they met, they hadn't done much talking. well, they didn't get to know each other in depth. would that happen now? again one could be sure that aurora would be in a playful mood."really, that's a little surprising. i mean lucky me."she said with a smile.
"though you almost sound a little sad about that. that you're not working i mean."she laughed softly. obviously she was curious as to why he was here. he liked to work, she already knew that. had he perhaps taken her advice to relax once in awhile? it was too obvious of a question she wasn't going to ask him just yet.
she smiled once more at his words about not being offended. she figured as much. she had gotten minimal reactions with her lame jokes and actions, but it was good to be reassured."as am i. didn't really think these types of things were something that interested you."she told him honestly. not like she actually knew avery, she was just assuming he wouldn't participate in these sorts of things."why did you sign up?"so she waited a couple seconds to ask. she was curious and she really couldn't resist the obvious question.

It was fascinating that Avery gained the opportunity to engage Aurora in conversation after that evening where they initially met. Complaints were not registered, rather, he discovered relief in conversing with the short-haired woman again. They could hardly be labelled as friends, but an acquaintance was better than a complete stranger in Avery’s opinion. Social capability was definitely a failing of his, thus the male lycanthrope found it easier to interact with even a slightly familiar face.
Furthermore, Aurora was not among his list of clientele. Plenty eyes rolled at Avery’s stick-in-the-mud behaviours and perhaps wished for an improved interaction. Meanwhile, the short-haired brunette woman proved to accept his attitude. The playful young woman would undoubtedly make the experience interesting. The one-eyed man adjusted slightly, assuring he would be comfortable in his seat. His green eye noticed the smile stretching across Aurora’s face as she claimed being lucky. It was somewhat of a comfort for Avery to hear...
It was proof his behaviour would be considered acceptable. A relief for the regularly phlegmatic and serious man. When she mentioned being sad about not working, however, Avery shrugged.
“It happens, I have to take time off sometimes,” Avery explained with a shrug.
As expected, the male lycanthrope lacked a reaction to Aurora’s playfulness and teasing. Fortunately, a smile remained on the woman’s face through their interaction. Then her honest opinion arrived about his participation in this event. Shortly after her statement she inquired about why he joined this event.
“In all honesty, I never applied for the event myself. I have two kids I take care of and one of them decided to sign me up. I hope that is not a problem,” Avery stated truthfully. “What was your reason, Aurora?”
He could have stated he signed up on a whim of emotions, however, Avery opted for complete transparency about the subject. It felt fair to Aurora to be completely honest about his reason for being here.
she laughed softly at his words."again, i'm rather surprised to hear you sometimes take days off. it sounded like you were married to your job."she figured even he would have to get tired. everyone needed time to rest at some point."it's a good thing though. you need to relax once in a while."one would think he needed it, as serious as he was. though from what she had seen he seemed to enjoy his job. probably didn't even view it as just a job.
she couldn't help, but ask. aurora was always being nosy like that. though she claimed it was just curiosity getting the best of her. who wouldn't be curious. not many people did blind dates, or at least she wasn't the type to. she laughed softly."that's so cute."she told him honestly. not that didn't see avery signing up for these types of things. okay she didn't picture him doing this sort of thing. which was why she surprised to see him here. kids did whatever they wanted. sometimes they did what was necessary."why would it be? it's not like you ditched me."she told him with a nod.
"how old are they? old enough if they are getting you into these types of situations."her guess, for one of them to do this. they would at least have to be in their teens. she laughed softly, knowing that the question would come back her way. she smoothed out her dress."i needed an excuse to look pretty."she said with a wink."what do you think? i clean up pretty well don't i?"she asked with a smile.

The assumption created by Aurora about Avery fictional marital status sounded truthful considering how often he worked. His duties as a bodyguard were significant in his life, absolutely crucial. He worked a majority of the time and when he was not, then Avery would care for the children in his care. In a way, he was essentially married to his bodyguard occupation since he worked whatever shifts he needed to while balancing his family duties. Earning a living was important to assure the children would be alright, especially with him being a single parent of sorts.
Alas, as a bodyguard, they required him to take breaks and his children signing him up and forcing that situation. Luckily, he could assume the conversation would hold a similar vibe to two acquaintances chatting. He believed nothing significant could manifest from their interaction, but perhaps a friendship. There were no complaints registered as Aurora laughed at her light-hearted jabs. He was not bothered by her humour, hence, he simply allowed Aurora to proceed with her seemingly endless amounts of jokes.
Although, the tone shifted to a more serious one when Aurora mentioned it was good watching him relax. Oftentimes, the bodyguard was phlegmatic and tense, a stony-faced man whenever he was on duty.
"I guess it is nice to hear," he said with somewhat of a shrug. "Although, I'm not particularly fond of going out myself."
Being paired with Aurora possessed a variety of perks, most specifically being the light-hearted nature she displayed. Mentioning how he never signed up himself did not dishearten her, rather, she found it cute and probably figured there were outlying reasons for Avery's attendance. Fortunately, Aurora did not appear concerned about his reasons for attending the event.
"It means I am not necessarily here looking for love or anything similar. I wanted to warn you ahead of time," Avery explained in his regular neutral tone.
Love was something elusive and rarely thought about by Avery, hence, signing his name upon the list would have never been accomplished by his hand. These events, in the one-eyed man's perspective, were nothing, but cheap ways of forcing two strangers completely new to one another to engage in a relationship. There was nothing genuine about the romance in these situations in Avery's honest opinion. After bringing up the children in his care, Aurora began inquiring about their ages.
"One is my nephew, he is 14 and the other is a child I found who needed a home, they are 16," Avery answered.
His nephew, Xavier, had questionable behaviours that manifested from an abusive situation meanwhile Robyn was somewhat of an enigma. Although, Avery found it pleasant acting as a father figure to those children. It was unexpected for somebody with his behaviours, yet, despite his phlegmatic nature, he cared for those kids. There were more fortunes in Avery's favour as Aurora explained her entire motivation for signing up was an excuse to look beautiful. When she inquired about his opinion on her appearance, he gave a nod.
"Quite, but I am probably not the audience you wish to impress," Avery responded.
There was evidence that Aurora was younger than Avery, hence, she was likely attempting to impress people around her age; unless she had some type of immortality. Alas, the male lycanthrope's comment was designed to be supportive of the kind woman. Throughout their interactions, the short-haired woman carried a pleasant conversation and accomplished nothing offensive, thus Avery could at least display himself as a pleasant date.
well if you liked what they did for a living, she figured the lucky one would be them. they got to do things that they enjoyed. she hoped she would find that too. something that she enjoyed to do so much that she didn't care how much time she spent doing it. searching for that loser was obviously not something she wanted to continue doing. she was over it from day one. he abandoned them, that right there should of told you what kind of person he was. they should of moved on, but no they were being stupidly hopeful that they would be able to bring him back. right now was not the time to be thinking about that whole situation. she had come out here to have fun.
"well, you don't necessarily have to go out like this to unwind."she told him with a nod. she kept telling him to relax, but he probably didn't know how. or the way he relaxed was completely different than hers. hopefully the kids were seeing that he had time to unwind too.
she looked at him and shrugged slightly. it wasn't why she was out here. she really didn't believe in that whole love at first sight deal. falling for looks yes, that one was pretty much a given. aurora was pretty outspoken, though had she asked the question that had popped into her head. she wasn't sure what kind of reaction she would get. it's kind of why she wanted to say it, but she would tone it down."that's fine, i didn't show up expecting an instant connection or something."she said with a smile.
"glad i could save someone else the heartbreak."she winked. right now a relationship was not a priority. there was nothing wrong with spending time with a stranger. this was a lovely place and people had their reasons for wanting to find a connection.
she nodded as he told her about the kids. so she was right, they were at that age and must have some knowledge about blind dates and what they were getting avery into. she hadn't been expecting a response to that. it made her blush slightly."such a charmer. why wouldn't i? you are the one sitting across from me after all. or is that your way of telling me not to try too hard?"she smiled.

Protecting others was an enjoyable occupation for Avery. People appreciated the services and furthermore the job honed on his capabilities. Book smarts were not among the male lycanthrope's strengths, however, he could beat somebody in a fight. In a way, brawling was everything Avery known after his rocky high school life. Several times they poked at the wolf, angering him, forcing the bodyguard to learn more about defending himself. Ultimately, it forged his decision to become a protector, somebody who used his physical capabilities to help others.
Other occupations were perhaps an option, but Avery decided he would be better off using the facts he knew. A majority of jobs required schooling, hence his decision would require schooling in combat, which he was already familiar with before he could enter. Alas, their conversation was not fixated around work, but rather around things done when one was away from their occupation. There were few things Avery accomplished when away from the confines of work and able to relax. Under most circumstances, he spent time with the kids, perhaps walked through the woods or ride around on his motorcycle.
"For relaxation I sometimes enjoy walks in the woods," Avery explained.
Calico Forest was a magnificent location, an open place where he felt able to calmly breathe. These types of situations were an entirely different question because of his introverted preference, but he could breathe easy. Aurora was a familiar face despite being a mere acquaintance, meaning a platonic conversation could transpire between them. The woman's light-hearted teasing proceeded, Avery not bothered by her playfulness.
"I suppose," he responded, voice neutral.
Usually, the phlegmatic man did not participate in Aurora's little games, yet, the task he placed upon himself was to entertain his date at least. If the short-haired woman was stuck with him, then he would attempt to make things more bearable. Compliments were in a way requested, thus Avery provided. He believed his comments would not be appreciated because of his age, yet, there was redness developing on Aurora's cheeks. It surprised the male lycanthrope, the shock being semi-noticeable in his forest green optics. Did she enjoy the compliment enough to blush? It seemed unprecedented. Afterwards, Aurora referred to him as a charmer before proceeding to ask him why he was not her target audience.
"Well, we are not exactly close in age," Avery stated, explaining.
For a majority of people, closeness in age was crucial. It provided similarities made through growing up in a close timeframe. There was age placed between him and Avery genuinely believed it would be a barrier.
she nodded, vaguely remembering him say something like that the first time they met. of course it probably just been walks at night or had that been her? the whole autumn season was her favorite. so being outside as much as possible was a given. apart from walks, aurora enjoyed swimming which was the only good thing about summer. other than that it wasn't her favorite.
she laughed softly at his response. she was starting to get used to those simple phrases. it's why him responding to her previous question about cleaning up nice surprised her. she hadn't expected him to say anything or perhaps she had been expecting him to simply shrug off the question. she knew she was pretty and it wasn't like she was vain about it. still it was nice to hear it either way. more so from someone that wasn't all that expressive.
he had already told her that he wasn't here for romance. which was fine with her, but that didn't mean they couldn't have a little fun."so you're saying if i was older you'd give me a chance?"she asked him with a smile."don't let our age different stop you."she honestly didn't see a problem. what did age matter, so long as the two were adults and they had things in common it shouldn't be a problem. there were so many people out there dating or together that had a few years between them. that wasn't the point, he had his preferences which was fine. she wasn't here to change his mind. he had already stated his intentions.

Aurora’s friendly nature failed to cease throughout their interaction as she listened, providing nods of acknowledgement to prove his words were digested. Fortunately, they were both interested in the conversation, allowing things to transgress smoothly. Stumbles were minimal, familiarity improving the circumstances by unbelievable lengths. The male lycanthrope shifted in his chair, sparing a moment to arch his back and roll his shoulders. Muscles and bones moved accordingly, losing their once locked position.
Obsessive stillness easily resulted in some stiffness haunting Avery’s body. By no means was he elderly, but nonetheless his age took its toll. The bodyguard’s abilities kept him strong enough to carry on without the regular hindrances inflicted on humans. Once his round of stretching was completed, Avery settled in his chair, adjusting a little bit more in search for comfort. The usual reactions he grew to expect from Aurora occurred as her soft laughter filled his sensitive hearing. Their pair of meetings established the short-haired woman as a playful and cheerful one.
Her following question resulted in the one-eyed man raising a brow. Did anybody really stand a chance waltzing into his heart? The man hardly carried for physical appearances nor did he merit time to create personal connections. There were two people who possessed a closeness to Avery, one being his nephew, Xavier, and the other his adopted child Robyn.
“I’m not looking,” he stated, voice neutral.
To some, his response could be taken as cold and calloused, however, in reality it was the bodyguard’s phlegmatic nature surfacing. Dates, romance and other intimate affairs were hardly touched upon, even during his adolescent years... Although, through those younger ages he battled against an anxiety monster known as claustrophobia... Those battles... they kept him from learning and developing a familiarity with those relationships. It infected him, maintaining the single father figure merely searching to make a living.
she softly laughed at his response. yes, he had made it clear, but aurora wasn't going to shot him down because he was older than her."yes, you made it very clear when you sat down."aurora wasn't bothered by it. everyone had their own reasons. surely people who come to these things don't hope to find an instant connection do they? things like that take time. clearly she was the type that didn't believe in all that bull about love at first sight. she found it extremely corny. probably because she hadn't experienced that deep intense feeling. not that she was going to admit that.
she was glad she hadn't mentioned that joke she had had in mind. the reaction probably would of been the same. the thought alone was funny. now that that was out of the way what now? she couldn't possibly tease him about that any longer. it would get annoying. she probably should be laughing about this as much as she was. everyone dealt with love, relationships and everything in between different. she really needed to stop with all these jokes, before she seemed insensitive. she respected his choice, that was fine. she had also mentioned she wasn't looking to date either. the thought of being tied down wasn't one that she longed for. not that she was saying she had commitment issues. she dated before, it was very brief. not to mention the situation she was in with the pack. to them her match was already picked. she was going to fight that if it was the last thing she did. she wasn't going to be just another mate. there were things she wanted to do and that was not one of them. there was plenty of other girl's in the pack that would love to be in her position. give it to them she would gladly give up that chance. she wasn't interested and she never would be. it should be her choice.
this was suppose to be fun and here she was periodically thinking about that stupid pack and their foolish choices. thankfully the server arrived at their table with menus. she gladly took one and started to go through it. drinks were brought up and she knew better than to have anything alcoholic. aiden would not let her live it down. plus it really wasn't something she enjoyed. she settled with a strawberry lemonade.

Relationships were never something Avery even considered because of his lack of ability to connect with others. Never had he found someone capable of handling his lack of expression, furthermore, building fondness towards people was a struggle. Yet, Aurora was able to manifest some definition of a conversation between them. It was refreshing in a way to have somebody who he could speak with and not suffer consequences from it. She was somebody pleasant to be around, at least, forced to be around. There were no options about whether they spent time together or not in this situation, but Avery would not complain.
Although, Avery would still reject Aurora from the position of a lover. Fortunately, the woman was more amused by the situation rather than disheartened. The short-haired brunette was a perplexing individual, to say the least about her. Whenever those phlegmatic traits surfacing, Aurora appeared more entertained by his personality rather than upset over the situation. She provided laughter in response to him attempting to clear up the situation. He supposed he was never one for romantic feelings. Those types of emotions were seemingly beyond him, however, he never felt the attractions mentioned by young men and women.
It felt as though he lacked the comprehension of notions such as love. Alas, he bore the visage of emotionless nature and the characteristics to match. The experiences of his past stifled his growth as a person, forcing him into a difficult circumstance when it arrived in interacting with other people. Moments later, a waiter arrived at their table, menu in hand and pen primed to take their drink orders. They would be allowed to enjoy a beverage while deciding their meals. After a glance over the menu, Avery decided to order simple water.
He never enjoyed fancier drinks and furthermore, alcohol hardly brought him happiness. In the end, water was the healthiest and easiest drink he could pick.
he didn't need to tell her more than once that he wasn't interested. she got the message loud and clear. it was fine, she was only teasing him too see what he would do. while unlike him, she had signed up herself. she didn't sign up with the intention of jumping into a relationship right away. she was having fun either way. there was the bonus where she got him to agree with her being pretty. it wasn't in those exact words, but whatever she was going to take it.
though she still wondered if it really was their age difference that bothered him or was there something more. did he have a certain type? she pondered what that would be. someone serious and quiet like him? someone that wasn't always constantly laughing and making bad jokes like her? she found that rather funny to be honest. well, not everyone could be as free spirited as others. she had to give him props for being a good sport and playing along. though it seemed the only one getting any amusement out of this was aurora. hey, things could be going a lot worse. they were at least still talking.
the server arrived at last passing out menus and ready to take drink orders. she wasn't much of alcohol. she had a drink or two here an there, but it wasn't something that she gravitated towards. she was craving something sweet. she looked through the menu looking for the drink section. she couldn't really say she frequented restaurants like this. she would have to decide on what to order to eat. though for now she at least knew what she wanted to drink. ordering a strawberry lemonade her gaze returned back to the menu. once the server had taken their drink orders and stepped away to give them time to think about what they were going to order.
aurora continued looking at the menu before speaking."okay, will you at least considering being friends since you don't want to sleep with me."of course it was only a few seconds after she giggled softly."i'm joking, well not about the friends part."she said with a smile. even if she had bugged him, she hadn't meant anything bad by it.
