I'll Untie You
From the strings caught in your Wings
And I'll try
To fill in the gaps,
All of the Cracks they left behind
From the strings caught in your Wings
And I'll try
To fill in the gaps,
All of the Cracks they left behind

It had taken Illija plenty of time to try and adjust to his new home, not to mention with learning English as well. It had been trying and hard for the boy, and it still was as he did have his bad days from time to time. Nightmares kept him up at night from time to time as well, the same scene from that dreadful day playing out over and over in his mind when he closed his eyes. He was grateful to have his sister with him again, though he was wary and still bitter about her abandonment. He found it hard to forgive her, for leaving him all alone like that but he did want to try and get close to her as they once had been before.
He was in the store she ran, carrying some boxes to the back room for sorting. He set the boxes down where they were supposed to go, exhaling rather heavily from the effort of carrying them had taken. He walked off to the counter that had the cashier stationed there, making sure everything was in order as he was currently manning the shop for his sister while she ran off to go pick up a few things. He had already made a few herbal pouches earlier that morning, the little pouches all displayed nicely where they belonged with their price tags attached to the string on the pouches.
Illija had come to enjoy doing the little tasks he partook in with helping run the shop, often times finding it calming as he allowed himself to get lost in his work. The boy moved away from the counter to drag a stool closer to the spot he had been standing at, reaching down to pull out a textbook and a journal from under the counter and set it on the surface. He might as well try to get some schoolwork done and out of the way before his...new school began once again. The boy made a bit of a face at the thought of going to such a crowded school, shuddering a little as he sat down on the tallish stool and opened his textbook. He still wasn't used to such crowded places, he wasn't used to the city either.
"YA nikogda ne privyknu k etomu.." He whispered to himself in his native tongue, sighing as he grabbed a pencil and opened the journal as well as he turned his attention to his textbook. "Erm..." He unconsciously raised the end of the pencil to his lips, lightly chewing on it in thought as he read his textbook in a language that he did not fully comprehend still. However, after a few minutes of trying to comprehend his schoolwork his attention was captured by the chime of the door opening. He raised his head to see who had entered the shop only to see his sister with whatever she had left nearly an hour ago to grab.
"Ty nakonets vernulsya, Adrijana. Gde byli...erm...where were you?" He spoke up, having to catch himself before speaking in English. If he was ever to really learn how to speak it he did need to speak it more than his native tongue. It was hard but he did want to be able to accomplish the task of learning another language fluently.
