Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Don't fill your head with things and think you're free I can smell the fear I become your nightmare steppin' in your dreams
It was a fairly boring day for the more evil of the two personalities. He had been quite satisfied with locking Akira up and destroying his mentality bit by bit until he finally gave in and passed out. It was always good when Akira went completely comatose. He could get away with so much, including acting like a normal person and not like the monster that everyone else saw him as.
The darker brunette was just lounging away, having eaten the entirety of his pizza and guzzling quite a few cans of energy drinks, he was laying there, one leg on the couch, the other on the floor, his headset on and a controller in his hand. Whatever he was playing obviously needed him screaming at children younger than him with a wide variety of colorful language that their parents could cringe at later.
Despite how nice his day was going, he heard the knocking from the hallway, the door next to his own to be quite honest. Now it was going to get so much better, having a blonde idiot to torment. Kyou stood, dropping the controller and the headset on the couch as he went to investigate. He threw the door open, wearing only some tight jeans and a very well fitted black t-shirt. He had expected tweedle-dee or tweedle-dumbass, but it was neither of the blonde morons. Instead, it was this cute little red head.
"He ain't home. Had some emergency or some shit." Kyou mentioned, hoping that the other would have heard him. "But if you wanna hang around until he gets back, you're welcome to. I've got games." Why was he being so personable? Maybe because he could get information on Ian this way. Who knew?
Winter was among Tadashi’s least favourite seasons. Cold temperatures were the naga’s worst enemy, making him hesitant to walk anywhere in the current conditions. Alas, the frigid conditions failed to deter him from taking opportunities to visit his boyfriend. He roused later in the morning, fortunate enough to have the entire day off. As he leapt from the safety of his warm covers, Tadashi’s find was quick to ponder and outfit ideas. He planned on a surprise visiting Ian if the blond was around, otherwise, he would find something else to do after sending a quick ‘What are you up to?’ text.
[break][break]
The preference was to surprise the blond beauty and spend the day with him, even if it included helping with chores. By all regards, the redhead merely fancied spending time with his boyfriend. Whether it included helping with chores or a grumpy day, Tadashi loved being in Ian’s company. In the name of impressing his boyfriend, the redhead dressed himself to please the attractive blond. A well-fitting dark-grey which assisted in outlining the overall shape of his lean torso. The shirt was promptly followed by a pair of blue jeans.
[break][break]
A black sweater was pulled over Tadashi's arms, covering them in a welcomed warmth. Wrapped around his right wrist was the beaded temperature regulation bracelet the naga refused to take off. The sweater was zipped up before the redhead turned, grabbing his phone, wallet and car keys. Afterwards, he hurred through Abbot Manor, listening to the regular Good mornings as he travelled through the over-sized home. Responses were returned in a friendly tone, but no long-term conversations hatched as Tadashi hurried downstairs.
[break][break]
A quick bowl of cereal was made and consumed in the kitchen, the redhead hurrying to retreat from the social area. Undoubtedly, he loved his parents, however, they would likely request him to visit his fiance. The spoiled brat lived in "palace" being waited on by servants throughout her days; it was ridiculous. Values were nonexistent, her materialistic thinking easily becoming a headache. She always hinted at spontaneous gifts instead of appreciating his company or the time donated to hanging out and talking; not that the conversations were particularly interesting...
[break][break]
Those conversations consisted of meaningless gossip or her jabbering on about how her parents paid for the latest, expensive items. It was difficult to listen to... These stupid interactions inspired Tadashi to cheat on his fiance with Ian. He thought there was no escape from the circumstances unless she severed the knot. With a hasty breakfast scarfed down, Tadashi placed his bowl into the sink for the cleaning staff before heading into the garage. There, he walked through, grabbing his jacket and slipping into his slick, black car.
[break][break]
Shoving the key into the ignition and turning it, the vehicle roared to life, allowing the redhead to successfully escape the clutches of his home. Smoothly, he drove through the streets, recognizing the familiar names of the southern side of Lorsette. He drove the familiar streets until his eyes caught the apartment building his blond-haired boyfriend lived in. Once he parked his car in an available slot and locked it, Tadashi headed to the elevator. His finger softly hit the floor button Ian lived on, the man relaxing as the elevator moved.
[break][break]
Upon entering the floor Ian lived on, Tadashi walked down the hallway, eyes already locked on the location of his boyfriend's apartments. When he arrived at the doorstep, his hand closed on a fist to knock on the door. Patiently, the redhead waiting, knowing it was required since he dropped in unexpectantly. Only moments later did the familiar sound of a door opening reach Tadashi's ears, however, it was not Ian's door. To the side stood a man with dark brown hair and red eyes who stated Ian was absent before asking if the redhead would like to join him.
[break][break]
"I see... I guess that's what I get for dropping in without telling him, eh?" The redhead said with a light-hearted laugh. "Buuut, sure. I wanted to surprise him, so at least if I'm hanging out, I still have a chance at that."
[break][break]
The invitation was accepted in a friendly manner by the naga. While Tadashi was unacquainted with the dark-haired stranger, he considered it a harmless endeavour. The other neighbours had witnessed the scout drop in throughout the years, thus another learning about his frequent visits with Ian seemed almost natural. With those words, the redhead approached the red-eyed man, planning to hang around with him until his boyfriend returned home.

Don't fill your head with things and think you're free I can smell the fear I become your nightmare steppin' in your dreams
The brunette held the door open as the red haired male entered. Yet another person that came for Ian. He was popular or something. Or maybe he was a slut. Either way, it wasn't his business really. He was just there to be there for the day as Akira fell into some sort of depressive episode and couldn't handle life like the pathetic little worm he was. But it worked best for him, sitting around doing nothing but killing people on his war games and destroying the apartment with pop cans and snack wrappers. Wasn't going to be his problem.
"Help yourself to whatever. Really. There's so many snacks here I think I might be able to survive nuclear war." He muttered, flopping down on the couch. "So Ian, huh?" He was becoming a friend to Akira, but TRS was risky business for someone like himself. He shrugged a bit and slid onto the couch, leaving plenty of space for the other male should he decide to sit. "I'm-" ... He paused for a moment. Should he even say his name? Or maybe it would have been better to say Akira's. "His neighbor." No shit. "Sorry. Uhh. I'm Kyou." And obviously not good at introductions.
After whatever introduction the other male gave, Kyou handed him a controller. "We can play together if you want. I don't get many visitors that don't annoy the shit out of me." At least he was an honest sort of type. "Are you another trainee of his or something?" Again, not that it was his business, but he was a curious individual on his good days.
Hiding out in the neighbour's home until Ian returned was a stupendous strategy to assure Tadashi could successfully surprise his precious boyfriend. The mere thought summoned a somewhat mischievous smile across the redhead's lips. He followed the dark-haired stranger into the apartment, his eyes analyzing the location upon entry; it was instinctual because of his scout training. The apartment appeared similar to Ian's, as Tadashi had expected upon entry. The main difference was the decoration style and placement of everything.
[break][break]
He followed the red-eyed man into the littered living room. Wrappers from consumed snacks and copious pop cans littered the living room floor. Carefully, Tadashi stepped over the garbage, trailing the stranger to the couch and listening to his words. A soft chuckle escaped the redhead's mouth at the dark-haired man's comment about the snacks. There were plenty of different snacks, causing Tadashi to believe perhaps someone else was coming over. Whatever happened to this assumed second player in the stranger's games was a different question.
[break][break]
The redhead nodded when Ian was mentioned. "Yeah, I wanted to surprise him. Guess I should have texted."
[break][break]
A shrugged proceeded the words accompanied with a light-hearted chuckle. Shortly afterwards, Tadashi joined the dark-haired man on the couch, listening to the peculiar introduction. The trained scout detected the pause, his state of mind turning alert, however, his expression failed to represent that. He managed a smooth grin, his teeth being revealed slightly as he completed the action.
[break][break]
"No worries. I'm Tadashi," the redhead responded in a friendly manner.
[break][break]
There were two possibilities, a type of social awkwardness or there was something being hidden. Despite this, Tadashi reacted calmly to the dark-haired man. An accurate evaluation could hardly be created when the redhead was recently introduced to the man who introduced himself as Kyou. Initial uncertainties were forgotten, the scout refuting the possibility of secrets being hidden until proper proof could be given. A control was passed to him, Tadashi taking the device, allowing it to comfortably fit into his hands.
[break][break]
"Sure. I'm good with anything, really. I'm just glad to have been invited in," he stated with a shrug.
[break][break]
After being provided a controller, the red-eyed man questioned his connection with Ian. An assumption was made about him potentially being one of the blond's apprentices.
[break][break]
"No, I just a close friend of his," he answered casually. "Anyways, what game?"
[break][break]
Inside his head, the word 'very' was inserted into the sentence, but the redhead wanted to avoid dwelling on the topic. For several years, Ian and Tadashi dated secretly with people being aware of the attraction they felt towards one another. Everything suggested cheating, however, it was difficult to deduce their connection because of the vague manner they answered those types of questions. The redhead wanted to suggest cheating without tying Ian heavily into the situation. The relations between Tadashi and his fiance was a messy matter and he wanted to spare Ian from a portion of it.

Don't fill your head with things and think you're free I can smell the fear I become your nightmare steppin' in your dreams
Kyou watched the red head quite carefully, waiting for any kind of reaction that may put him off, but so far so good. It didn't seem like the boy was any sort of threat. Even if TRS was a threat to begin with. "A text wouldn't be much of a surprise." He shrugged a bit and leaned back against the cushions. "Well, I'm playing some random shooter right now, but I've got a ton of games over under the tv. Anything you prefer is fine with me." Something along the lines of Call of Duty seemed to be on the screen for the time being, but he was quite bored of it already. His game collection itself consisted of plenty of horror games, a couple of JRPGs, some racing games, and a few random storyline type games. Some were multiplayer, some were not. "I suppose it would have sucked having to wait in the hallway or something. Though, most people kind of avoid going into stranger's houses." Not that he was a stranger anymore. At least not exactly.
"What kinds of things do you like to play?" Kyou slid off the couch and towards the tv stand where he just started unloading games, putting them on the floor between himself and Tadashi. He really didn't seem to have much care for messes. Mostly because that was Akira's problem. He would be the one inclined to clean up, so Kyou often made it a point to make things as messy as possible. Once he had finished pulling out all of the games for the red head to look through, he stood and made his way to the kitchen. "I could order a pizza or something if you're hungry."
The redhead settled onto the couch, leaning back in the seat, discovering comfort. On the TV screen was game which appeared similar to Call of Duty. It was a first-person shooter, which was something Tadashi played a couple of times. At most, the naga was mediocre with those types of games, but nonetheless enjoyed playing them. Under most circumstances, he lost against his friends who proved to be better gamers. He watched the screen for a few moments, attempting to analyze Kyou's capabilities with the game.
[break][break]
The scout was merely praying he could at least create a challenge for Kyou, however, if the man was an experienced player, promises could not be made. A smile remained on Tadashi's face despite the peculiar attitude he displayed initially. While their first interaction was not particularly bad, the redhead found himself still desiring for Ian to return home. Mere minutes felt like excruciating hours passing slowly. The beautiful blond made Tadashi happy, and it was nothing against the friendly stranger who invited him in.
[break][break]
A soft chuckle escaped his mouth when Kyou mentioned texting ruining his surprise.
[break][break]
"Yeah, so I appreciate giving me a place to hide," he responded light-heartedly.
[break][break]
The redhead kept watching the screen, controller in hand, waiting to be added to the game. At least the game seemed like something enjoyable to play. A shrug was provided in response to picking a game. The dark-haired man slid off the couch to gather a stack of games.
[break][break]
"Meh, I'll play anything, but I am not the best at first-person shooters. So sorry if I make it too easy," the naga said, laughing slightly. "As for what I play... Well I just try whatever. I like card games a little more, but I enjoy video games for a bit."
[break][break]
Games were placed on the floor, Tadashi straightening to read the titles. Oftentimes, the redhead played these games with friends unless something interesting caught his eye. The wealth his parents retained allowed the naga to be experimental at times. When pizza was mentioned, the redhead shrugged again.
[break][break]
"Don't worry about it. My friend and I will probably hang out, watch a movie and eat a bit," Tadashi explained.
[break][break]
The man allowed him to enter his apartment, but Tadashi refused to be an over-bearing guest. He refused to be needy with the amount of wealth the Abbot family obtained. Therefore, the redhead decided to stick with the display of snacks because of the man's hospitality.
