Hachimitsu Kiba Food for thought: Your time is naught. general info
appearance What you expect from an oni is someone big, muscular, and strong. Some large imposing figure that looks like it could break you in half with two fingers. Some rough and tumble battle-scared badass. Hachimitsu is, on the contrary, five feet tall. Five-foot-three she might be, but think of her as anything but a terrifying powerhouse of fire and punching, and you can consider taking your measurements because they'll be needing them for your coffin — Hachimitsu is by all means a small girl, abnormally so for something like an oni. Her body is lithe and petite, and she looks much more cute than imposing, like you'd want to pet her. Her face is especially soft, with her eyes having a certain swirly glow to them, almost in a hypnotic way. She notably doesn't have any visible pupils. Hachi stopped aging when she was around twelve or thirteen (after puberty) at the peak of an extraordinarily rebellious phase. She usually wears boyish clothing, but her alternate persona dons a smiling kitsune mask, clad in thigh-highs, a short skirt, and a typically-dark color sweatshirt, with the hood up. Her body suffers only minor grazing scratches as of current. personality
Two sides of one coin. Hachimitsu is a quietly spoken girl who likes to have her face in a book at all times possible. Maybe she likes reading to get an advantage over the market competition of authors, or maybe she just actually likes reading. She's near-silent, soft-spoken, rarely talks and helps others without a single word exchanged. She seems a bit socially anxious in that way, how she refuses to let her voice be heard but tries her best to help nonetheless. You'd sit there after meeting her, and think she's just a really nice girl. Don the mask and distribute justice; her true nature is revealed in the dead of night. As general as a nickname it might be, "The Fox" is all the populace has to go by. Her only defining feature in a baggy hoodie and short skirt is the white, smugly smiling fox mask, painted lightly with flowers on the right cheek alone. You'll notice that the mask has a voice-modifier in it. Her weapon of choice depends on her mood: usually, it is a baseball bat. Sometimes she wraps razor wire around the bat, sometimes she sticks nails in it, sometimes she just brings a fucking sword — but one thing can be guaranteed, and it's that you're going to have a bad time with whatever she's hitting you with. Do you align with the TRS? The AP? May god save your soul, then, because Hachimitsu has an obscene hatred of conflict. She's been known to assassinate members of either faction just because she feels like it; in other words, she's a serial killer. More often than not though she ignores the conflict altogether. It's not until something affects her life directly, that she takes action. abilities Fire: As an oni, it's almost innate that she has some ability to manipulate flame. She doesn't actually care much for her fire manipulation. As such it's much weaker than normal and barely used. What she normally uses it for is lighting herself on fire as a form of defense. Enhanced Strength: What Hachi lacks in strength, she makes up for in still-having-more-of-it-than-you. She might be small and thin and all of that jazz but golly gee you flick her forehead and you're going to get suplexed by a five-foot feisty sonuvabitch. Underestimating Hachimitsu's strength, intelligence, and merciless if not sadistic tactics is the last mistake you'll make. Her upper limit rests around picking up and throwing SUVs, it would seem—but for the most part she sticks to her handheld weaponry. Hexes: Hachi likes to draw these incorrectly, and into other people. She only ever uses healing hexes, and it's for her own benefit more often than not. Teleportation is the next most common one, followed closely by sight — but she hardly integrates magic into her fighting style at all. She's much more... Straightforward. Fear Inducement: Here's where things get interesting. Fear inducement is like mind manipulation; it's unnatural. This is conveyed passively by how imposing an oni typically is. Hachimitsu is, as previously mentioned, five feet tall. She's not scary. As such she might not be all that imposing physically, but combined with her charisma, Hachi is more specialized. She has a way of getting people to do what she wants; it's something in her tone and body language, like she could break you in half if you gave her the wrong answer despite her small body. To summarize, it functions the same as regular fear inducement. It's not passive, but it's conveyed through her body language and how she speaks, if she so chooses to "sound scary". Natural: As always, Hachimitsu has enhanced durability and immunity to fire like all oni. These are both natural. backstory She never really liked it. Hachimitsu wasn't.. "fortunate", shall we say. Her childhood mostly consisted of fighting between people that weren't her. Her parents, her step-parents; fight after fight after fight. Who was right? She didn't care. The war of traitors; heaven and hell, she was a hell creature so she had to like hell right? Or was she one of those traitors? She had to pick, there was no neutral party. AP? TRS? Those were sides too. She had to pick something. Ignorance wasn't alright, she had to be the change she wanted to see in the world, she couldn't be ignorant and do whatever she wanted, she had to conform to society and pick a side or else she was as bad as the enemy. Pick the right side, or you're wrong. If there were no sides, then she wouldn't have to pick anything. [Content Warning. Parental fighting, PTSD, and my colorful vocabulary.] Hachimitsu was for all intents and purposes a mistake. Her parents didn't like each other, they weren't married, she figured it was normal for people not to get along. That's what she dealt with, that's what she was used to. To find out that it wasn't normal, though — well that stirred the pot. She was cold and desolate. She didn't like anything, it seemed; she isolated herself as much as possible, and she hated talking. Nobody approached her. Let sleeping dogs lie. She could appreciate them for that much, at least. Her childhood mostly consisted of being upset, and for that she doesn't much consider herself having had one. Fighting happened late at night, and it never felt like the radio was loud enough, nor was the door ever sealed. She could always here it, and she grew to hate it. To hate. She was hostile to anybody that tried to break down her walls. "She's an oni," was the explanation; "they're just like that". Oh? Is that why her parents fought? Because they were oni? It was enlightening to hear those words labelled upon her, and she was thankful. Now she knew the problem. Twelve years old. That's when things really started to go down. Firstly she had this stupid mask thrust upon her. "It's a tradition, you have to accept it" they said. Oh? More nonsense forcing its way into her life, was it? Well, she took the mask, that's for sure. She took it, and nailed it to the door of her house with a kitchen knife. That obviously didn't blow over well, but she was, plain and simple, tired of the same shit. Her parents had a divorce two months later. She received detention rather frequently for foul language and the like, but one thing was always obvious: she was remarkably intelligent. Hachimitsu was the top of her class. Always. In the competitive school system of Japan, that was the one thing that made her happy. She was always smarter. She figured the hatred directed towards her was out of jealousy, not of her race; but what little childish innocence she had left was quickly choked. Racism was this new concept, she hadn't thought about it much before; sure she'd learned about it, but... Well, not only was she an oni, but she was also a species of hell. It would seem apparent to her now that those were "bad things". The War of Traitors, huh? Another stupid fight to learn about; maybe the school system could try teaching her something that she could use, instead of another outdated history lesson? That's how she looked at it — this was just another boring and pointless filler unit that she'd ace without much thought, so that she could move onto the next one. Brag about her grades some more. She was right, too. Two sides fighting over some stupid shit because someone's feelings got hurt. Ridiculous, and painfully relevant. Yes, she was right that it was boring and stupid and all of that, but it wasn't outdated; this Assembly of Phantoms, this Terror Response Syndicate, it felt like the same thing all over again.. Except one side was clearly in the wrong. Ah, whatever. It was all stupid anyway. She chose to be ignorant until it stepped into her path. Little did she know... When Hachimitsu had completed university she was quick to move away from the cesspool she'd come to know as "that place where she lived". Instead, she found Lorsette. It was better, she guessed. She quickly found an increased presence of TRS and AP, though. She didn't like that part, but the city was... Nicer. Less cramped. More free. It was an improvement, at least. She knew how to read and write English without flaw, but she still had the classic accent of a foreigner, not to mention her... Very underwhelming height. She never fit in that well, but she also never cared. She'd been singled out for a while now. She was used to it. It was normal. But as things went on she started to notice an increasingly large amount of inconvenience, mostly from the AP... So, she dealt with it. Hachi was amazed, to say the least. It was incredible how much nicer things were when you had the ability to remove annoyances, obstacles, the ones who harassed her, the ones who hurt her. He'd pushed a little too hard, AP wasn't interesting, she hated it; maybe he was fanatical, maybe he didn't have a sense of personal space; maybe she was just in a bad mood. Broken, burned; nobody would find that body. It truly was a miracle. You could easily say that's where it started. She liked it, breaking people who hurt her in half. She liked it and it removed them from her path. It was a win-win. She was an oni, she supposed. Big, scary, evil demon, right? That's what they'd all said she was, right? That's what she was, right? Well, well, maybe she was a scary evil demon. Maybe she'd ought to start acting like it. Hachimitsu made a hobby out of covering her ass. She started to open to the world, become more forgiving, help people with their problems and pick sides; all without thought and all without care. Nobody would connect this friendly little girl in the background to one of the most increasingly prominent criminals in Lorsette — from hacking into AP and TRS databases alike to executing whoever stepped in her way, this other half, this sly and murderous fox, was slowly becoming a part of Hachi whether she liked it or not. She quite liked it. misc Most of this section will be things that weren't explained in her history, simply because I felt they didn't flow into it well, and are more just general information. The kitsune mask was taken from her home in Japan, notably without any kind of consent from her parents. She has since reinforced it thinly underneath with metals and such so that it acts as adequate protection. Nothing substantial, but present nonetheless. She also installed a voice modifier into it that distorts and magnifies her soft-spoken words so that she can't be identified by it. She moved out and lived in a dorm at her university. She studied computer science, and finished it, but quickly became bored and turned to writing instead. She also worked as a freelance artist. Hachi read a lot of English books and took English courses where she could, which is why she can read and write it so clearly. Of course she has an accent, and sometimes forgets how to pronounce more complex words. The symbol of a kitsune mask is her telltale signature, be it at a crime scene or as a surprise she leaves whenever she's hacked something. She's egotistical like that. | roleplayer info ☆ NAME Sicarius ☆ RP EXPERIENCE 11 years ☆ TIMEZONE lazy ☆ GENDER male ☆ AGE there's some numbers here ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS n/a ☆ FACE CLAIM kimetsu no yaiba, makomo ---------------------- THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO sicarius.
