Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Xander awaited as patiently as he possibly could while waiting for the hex to take affect. "I think I hear them coming!" He said worried very much for Tyson's safety. Soon enough the trio that had been tailing them made their way to the alley that they were stationed in. Xander looked at them, and then to the hasty scratchings on the ground that Malcolm, and presumably Tyson had made. It was then that Xander heard Tyson apologize, and Malcolm then hastily tell him not to apologize, making Xander just stay quiet in the event. These scratching were what was going to save them. Sure enough, just as one of the trio threw a dark ball the portal light up like a bright flashlight teleporting the three Malcolm, Tyson, and Xander to a new location. Xander quickly scanned the surrounding area but was interrupted as he heard a large commotion. Xander had assumed the portal phased them out of there before the dark sphere had a chance to harm any of them but in fact it had teleported along with them and struck Malcolm.
This had separated the two brothers sending Malcolm flying, and eventually sending him to the ground. Xander was just glad that it wasn't himself that was struck by the dark sphere, no matter how selfish that sounded. "You alright?!" Xander called out to Malcolm whilst not seeming too interested in his well being. They were safe now after all. Xander was examining the layout of the new place he found himself in. He was greeted by a car, a bench with tools on it, and it seemed the place was not very well lit. It was easy to make out the place as a garage anyways.
"So this is your place?" He asked Malcolm not really giving him the time to recover from the attack he received. He then turned to Tyson. "What about you are you ok?" Xander was more worried for Tyson at this point in time, Malcolm, even though the one who clearly saved the day there, didn't really give him a good impression. Xander huffed deciding to put the past behind himself and be a little more caring towards Malcolm. He turned towards him reaching his hand out to help him up. "You saved the day"
Tyson had apologized only to hear Malcolm tell him not to do so. Malcolm was working on teleporting them to the garage just as a ball of darkness was flung in their direction. Though they had managed to teleport into the garage, he had noticed Malcolm had released his hand before falling backwards. He listened as Xander asked if Malcolm was alright, meanwhile he remained quiet, stunned that his brother had been attacked, though it could have been any one of them, he honestly wished by god it had been himself since it was his fault for them being in this mess in the first place. He was silent when Xander asked if it was there place, still frozen in his spot until Xander had asked if he was okay. "Yeah." He lied, honestly wishing that attack hadn't hit Malcolm, that AP hadn't noticed Malcolm or Xander but just him.
It was his fault this mess had unfolded and now there was a chance any one of them would run into AP or at least those AP members in the near future. He remained in his spot, still not checking on Malcolm even though he was deeply concerned about his well being. Here he was, back in this place, the place he had left because he had a disagreement with their parents. Oh how he didn't want to be back in here but now that Malcolm got him back here, he was sure it was going to be really difficult to run away again. He listened as Xander spoke to Malcolm about saving the day, meanwhile he remained quiet.

[attr=class, punkisaintscontent] Painful sensations echoed through Malcolm's stomach from the harsh strike. The darkness ball was an unpleasant attack to make contact with the older blond's body. The cold, garage floor resulted in several shivers riddling his body. A groan escaped Malcolm's lips, the unexpected pain being a burden. It was nothing harsh, however, the abrupt escape of air from the depths of his lungs kept him still. From the floor he breathed, listening to questions about his well-being. His breathing were steady as he focused on easing his body.
[break][break]
Slowly, Malcolm began easing himself from the floor, another groan escaping his life. The red-eyed blond managed to sit up and listen to the well-being question be asked of his brother. The older twin soothed immensely upon hearing Tyson state he was alright. The last thing the inventor desired was for his twin to be injured because of the previous altercation. A weak smile stretched across his face as he looked at his blue-eyed brother. He heard praise leave the purple-haired man's lips, however, he merely gave a slight shrug.
[break][break]
"I had to save my brother," Malcolm explained before grinning at Tyson. "I am glad you are okay."
[break][break]
Gradually, the disheveled blond managed to reach his feet to stand, fighting through the pain. The warlock stood motionless, allowing his body to steady and grow adjusted to standing again. He was likely bruised from the attack and already planned on informing his parents about what happened.
Xander watched in awe as the guy got up to his feet despite the pain, he was set off a bit. He was angry at this Malcolm character. How many chances had he given him to be nice? He groaned under his teeth while retracting his offer to help the guy up when he stood to his feet. "You two have given me an exciting day I have to say" Xander sighed feeling as though if Malcolm could stand to his feet than there was nothing to worry about. He was still upset that Malcolm didn't accept his offer to help him up, just rudely brushed it aside as if it was nothing. Xander had been nothing but kind, even risked his well being for the two. Sure Xander was doing it for his own purposes too, but he put that aside, it's not like they knew he had some sort of fetish with the dangerous events.
"So where are we exactly? I'd like to know how to find my way back to my home. Or preferably the closest bar, not that you guys seem old enough to frequent such places but if you know then how about pointing me in the right direction?" Xander of course wanted to go find some different attentions, people old enough to drink with possibly. These guys were at least entertaining, but they lacked something and Xander couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"Look, Tyson, Malcolm, This has been fun, really, but I think I want to wind down now if that's alright. IF you need me, call me, but otherwise point me to that bar I previously mentioned." Xander knew he hadn't give them a phone number, but he honestly at this point wasn't sure if he wanted to continue helping. It was hair raising sure, but was it worth the trouble for these two? Especially when one didn't accept his kindness, and was seemingly rude at multiple intervals.
"I'm sure you two have plenty of family matters to discuss right? SO I best get going and leave you two too it." Xander made his way to what appeared to be the door out. "This way out? Which way to the bar?" Xander brought his fingers up, pointing left then right, as if pointing a direction down the street. It was time to unwind right?
Tyson listened to Malcolm and Xander talk, it almost sounded like he didn't get along with his brother, having failed to miss the tension between them. It was then that Xander asked where they were, giving reason of leaving. "We are in my garage..." Tyson mumbled because frankly, he didn't want to be here. He was silent when Xander mentioned being able to call him when he had yet to give a phone number. 'Can you even hear me when I do this?' He asked Xander through telepathy. Prior, Xander had been silent with him and he was trying to figure out why that was, this way he'd get to see a reaction at the very least. 'Because you do realize you didn't give us a phone number... or I guess I should say me. Not that I deserve one after lying about my name but... I get the feeling you don't like my brother.' He was using telepathy in an attempt to speak with Xander. 'It is funny. I never would have imagined you going to a bar with a bunch of books...' He continued using telepathy, still trying to get some reaction out of Xander.
"I'd give my phone number but as far as I'm concerned, being here is a means to an end..." He answered, knowing Malcolm wouldn't like that answer. Not when his family worked so hard to get him back. Tyson moved to push the garage opener. "Yeah, I suppose you could exit from the side door.... but that way is faster to your chosen location." He answered before smiling at Xander. "Are you sure you want to go to a bar with those books? I'm not going to steal them from you but maybe you should leave them in my care until you finish there unless you stop by home first to drop them off." He answered, not liking the idea of the books going to a bar with Xander, with the amount, it helped his cause of concern, since he had tripped over them earlier.

[attr=class, punkisaintscontent] Decling the offered hand was perhaps accomplished in an attempt to appear tough. Somebody needed to protect his baby brother, and Malcolm was determined to take the duty! As he stood, the subtle remnants of the injury echoed around his stomach, suggesting bruising. A sigh breezed through the warlock's lips as his hand gently hovered over the assumed bruised area. Once he discovered himself on solid feet, the pain simmered down to something more tolerable. Gradually, he stood straight, a weak grin on his face.
[break][break]
Despite the injury, Malcolm was happy to discover Tyson and return him to the safety of home. The red-eyed blond missed his brother through the days of his absence. The groan was noticed shortly after his standing, the warlock's eyes shifting towards Xander. There was subtle concern about the vexation being featured, alas, Malcolm held more crucial concerns. Gradually, he walked his way towards Tyson, reaching out to try and hug his younger twin. A location was already given, the warlock remaining silent as he allowed his brother to answer.
[break][break]
All he wanted was to embrace his blue-eyed fellow prankster after months of separation! It felt like a dream he never wanted to awaken from. The blond listened to the vocal portions of their interaction, unaware of the telekinetic communications occurring. Everything that mattered at this moment was trying to hug Tyson and never releasing him. He listened to his little brother's answers, allowing him to speak while he just enjoyed being nearby, even if his twin refused his hug. Forever felt like a passing as beliefs of never seeing Tyson again were lulled by his presence.
Xander looked at Tyson with a slightly annoyed look. He was getting talked to telepathically? He hadn't quite understood what was going on until hearing Tyson's words this time. "Yes I can hear you, can you hear this?" He thought still not understanding the whole talking through telepathy thing. 'Because you do realize you didn't give us a phone number... or I guess I should say me. Not that I deserve one after lying about my name but... I get the feeling you don't like my brother.' Tyson spoke and Xander sighed in response. He pulled out his journal and pen and began writing his phone number on it. He spoke out loud this time not feeling like he should go for too long without the older brother hearing his responses. He did after all want to protect his little brother right? Xander could respect feelings like that, he wished he had some siblings that were around.
"Here's my number, I know we just met but if you guys are seriously in trouble I will come help you if you need it" Xander didn't feel like explaining his some what of a death wish, or the need he had to be in high octane situations. They would probably learn that themselves by being around him more. If they dared him to do something outlandish, he probably would just to get his heart beating a little faster.
'It is funny. I never would have imagined you going to a bar with a bunch of books...'
Xander chuckled at this speaking with his mind instead hoping that Tyson could pick up on what he was thinking still not understanding the whole telepathy jargon.
"You can drink and read at the same time, sometimes you can even make a game of it. It gets the heart pumping a bit more than just reading alone, plus you get the chance of someone asking what your doing reading at a bar. It's a fun game either way." Xander felt confident in his response making sure he had all his books prepped for leaving. He patted a few down to get the dust from earlier off of them. "Plus if you want to be a successful man you need to be able to handle your liquor, and your readings."
Xander smirked again at Tyson's persistence on keeping the books. This time he spoke out loud forgetting about doing the whole speak in mind speech thing. "No I think I will take the books with me. I play a drinking game with them, and plus they give me something to talk about if someone approaches me." Xander looked over at Malcolm.
"Nice to meet ya Malcolm. Keep yourselves out of trouble. Try not to take more magic missiles to the chest and all" Xander felt like teasing him a bit because of the harsh time he was giving. "So I think I'll be heading to the bar now, gotta do my reading somewhere exciting. If you know somehow you guys get in deep shit again you know where to run." Xander coughed lightly. This place was just getting too boring to stay now anyways. He casually walked off through the new opening heading towards the closest bar clutching his books in hand.
Tyson watched as Malcolm moved towards him before wrapping his arms around him. He started speaking to Xander through telepathy, pleased when Xander spoke back to him. 'Yes, I can hear you just fine.' He answered in return. If it hadn't been for the fact of not wanting to be here, he would have chuckled upon hearing Xander sigh because he was the one that failed to give a phone number. Xander had written his phone number down and Tyson didn't waste any time taking it from him. 'How about if I want to leave home again, does that count?' He used telepathy because he didn't want Malcolm to hear the comment. He listened as Xander explained what you could do with books at a bar. "Is that so?" Tyson asked, pouting slightly but was only teasing Xander in return. "I got the reading down pretty well.... Too young to drink though." He explained, not wanting to say that he wasn't too sure about being interested in drinking in general.
He then made the comment about the books once more, listening as Xander explained how he'd take the books with him. "More like you don't want to share." He teased him in return before adding, "Might have to take one each time I trip over it..." He teased, enjoying Xander's company. If only he wasn't be left alone here. He watched as Xander started to leave before commenting back to him. "More like into somebody." He answered in return, watching as Xander left the garage. He sighed, Now what? He knew he'd likely get stuck having to go into the house after they were done in the garage.

[attr=class, punkisaintscontent] Months were spent with the absence of his beloved brother, one of the triplets. Undoubtedly, Malcolm loved and cared about his sister, however, he pranked alongside Tyson. The siblingly bond between them was a common one for young boys growing up together as siblings. It saddened Malcolm to nearly lose those opportunities and no longer have his brother venturing through life alongside him. Therefore, holding his precious younger triplet was considered a magnificent opportunity and something therapeutic after days spent missing him.
[break][break]
The conversation transpiring was impart ignored as tiredness built inside Malcolm. Using magic to escape only to be abruptly smacked in the chest by darkness was an unpleasant and tiring experience. In complete honesty, the blond-haired warlock wished to sit down while reintroducing Tyson to the family. The thought excited him enough to maintain a standing position, furthermore, embracing his brother was a magnificent treat. The warmth shared between them was welcomed, the type of familial affection he craved from his sibling.
[break][break]
He wanted this more than anything, but he dared not to interrupt the conversation between Tyson and Xander. Therefore, Malcolm resigned himself to silence, listening as the pair exchanged numbers and chatted about books. Only when he heard his name, did his red eyes shift to Xander.
[break][break]
"You too, have a good day," Malcolm responded.
[break][break]
As Xander retreated from the garage through the opened door, Malcolm pulled away from Tyson. His hand slithered down, grabbing his brother's wrist to lead him inside the house. Everybody would undoubtedly be happy to see him, therefore, Malcolm wished to bring that to them.
Tyson felt Malcolm release him only to take hold of his wrist with the plans on leading him into the house. Just before they got inside, he reached over and pressed the garage door button, making it close as he was pulled inside the house. Oh how he didn't want to be here, but that would be another bridge to cross. For now he'd play good so that he wouldn't give Malcolm anymore hardship.
