Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Kiernan listened as Zeke appeared to make a hmmm noise before admitting that he wasn't sure. He had helped Zeke to his feet before asking shall we. Zeke lead the way out of the bedroom and he was quick to follow him out. He had also checked to make sure his pockets had what he required with his freehand as they made their way down the hall and towards the door. "How about we figure out where to eat while we're out? There are plenty of options... Did you want to walk or go by car?" He asked, curious on what Zeke would say. Had he known the location, he'd have gladly drawn a hex to take them there but seeing as they weren't sure where to go, he wasn't able to determined a spot to teleport them. "Or if you have a general idea... We could..." He started, side glancing before looking back at him. "Teleport nearby?" What Zeke didn't know wouldn't hurt him and that fact would be, that he would cut his hand to use blood to create the circle so that he could get to the location, should they go that route.
Fingers blissfully intertwined with Kiernan's, Zeke led them through the threshold and into the hallway. The dragon gazed around the hallways, grinning as they began moving through the household. Thoughts swirled about their magnificent evening to come spent in a restaurant together. They had both checked their pockets to assure they possessed all required items for their evening out. Together, they continued down the halls of Zeke's childhood home, heading back towards the exit to head outside. They would eventually pick a location and settle down for some food.
[break][break]
Food would arrive later than expected, however, Zeke recognized that his precious boyfriend required food. The entire reason he picked supper before packing was to assure his dearest Kiernan would not go hungry. The suggestion the kitsune provided was heard and met with some pondering. A wander around could potentially leave his boyfriend hungry longer, however, it could be a magnificent walking experience. After a few moments, a thought popped into Zeke's head. Before they crossed the threshold to head outside, the dragon fetched the phone from his pocket.
[break][break]
Within a few swift taps of the keyboard, the search bar read 'good restaurants in Lorsette Newfoundland'. A variety of links popped onto the phone's small screen which he showed Kiernan. He listened to Kiernan's travel suggestions and thought about the situation... his boyfriend was hungry...
[break][break]
"How about we look on my phone? Then we can have a location and teleport to fill your belly," Zeke suggested. "Now, one of us just needs to have a craving."
[break][break]
Once his idea was pitched, Zeke pulled Kiernan closer and switched to the maps tab. Slowly, he scrolled through the restaurants and checked the comments of any interesting ones to assist with picking an excellent location to eat. Alas, his thoughts failed to ponder what teleporting may entail...
Kiernan followed Zeke outside before Zeke had withdrawn his phone to look up restaurants in the area. He peeked at it, still unsure of where to go. "I'm not picky." He answered in return, wanting Zeke to pick the location. As of right now it seemed as if they weren't going anywhere. "But alright." He answered, agreeing to making a hex so that they would be able to teleport there. If they kept at this much longer, he'd find his stomach grumbling even more than before. "If we can't figure out what, I vote to teleport near some that are nearby each other.... The smell will help make a decision." He answered, believing it to be true. Meanwhile snuggling Zeke as he waited to hear what he'd have to say.
Gradually, Zeke scrolled through the eating locations provided by his phone. There needed to be somewhere suitable to take his precious Kiernan for food! With hunger haunting his boyfriend, the dragon was determined to find a destination for them to eat. As he scrolled further, he listened to the words of the beautiful kitsune beside him. Past fast-food restaurants the short-haired man scrolled. While he wanted somewhere where they could get delicious food, he wanted to take Kiernan somewhere that could be considered somewhat fancy.
[break][break]
Their closeness was maintained as Zeke searched through the list of restaurants. Another suggestion was provided by his precious boyfriend in regards to wandering around until they discovered a craving. A soft 'hmm' of thought squeezed through the dragon's lips as he listened to the suggestion. He preferred quickly finding a location Kiernan would enjoy eating at so the kitsune's belly could finally be filled. They already skipped lunch, thus, Zeke decided figuring out dinner plans immediately was crucial! Much to the dismay of his family, Zeke was used to missing the occasional meal.
[break][break]
There were instances where his emotions overwhelmed him, suffocating him and demolishing his appetite for the evening. When those moments occurred, his thoughts hardly centred around getting a proper meal... Finally, the dragon's eyes landed on a restaurant suggestion that prompted a grin.
[break][break]
"How about we go for sushi? The place looks pretty nice and I don't know about you, but I haven't had that in forever," Zeke suggested cheerfully to his boyfriend before chuckling. "Plus trying to eat with chopsticks is always fun."
[break][break]
He shifted his phone towards Kiernan to grant him a view of the photo gallery. The restaurant appeared elegant in its design with sleek features mingled in with some more traditional decorations. There were claims the location held a few older pieces with genuine origins from the well-known country. While Zeke could not receive confirmation, the restaurant seemed an interesting place to attend.
Kiernan watched as Zeke scrolled through his phone. When Zeke asked his question, Kiernan couldn't help but smile at him. "Sure, I love sushi." He answered in return, smile turning into a smug grin. "Yes, yes it is." He agreed, knowing it wouldn't be fun to attempt to eat with the chopsticks even though there were plenty of places that had both chopsticks and silverwear. He then proceeded to look at the phone to see the restaurant that Zeke was pointing out to him. I know where that is at too.... He thought to himself before speaking up. "Want to teleport there?" He asked, curious on what Zeke's answer would be, failing to mention what would be required of him, should they do it.
A grin of jubilee stretched across Zeke's face after successfully suggesting a suitable place for them to dine. Sushi was a marvelled treat and sharing it with Kiernan sounded like a recipe for bliss! Already, romantic plans swirled through the dragon's mind to flatter his darling boyfriend. Imagining his plan summoned a broad smile across his face, making his dimples obvious. The thought of picking up a piece of sushi with chopsticks and bringing it close to the kitsune's lips and feeding him a piece excited him.
[break][break]
Although, Zeke was uncertain if he could successfully pick up a piece and ferry it to Kiernan's lips... Would he still attempt once they arrived and began their food? Of course! Failure only meant for some humourous banter, therefore, the ice dragon found himself invigorated by the thought. The fantasized notion of pleasing Kiernan with some sugary sweet PDA motivated Zeke to assure they would arrive at the restaurant quickly. The thoughts were too magnificent to wait until they walked the sidewalks to the restaurant.
[break][break]
When Kiernan offered teleportation again, Zeke smiled and nodded quickly at him. Alas, his lack of thought towards Kiernan's methods with hexes kept him oblivious to the shortcoming occurrences.
Kiernan slowly pulled away from Zeke. "I'm going to make the circle now." He explained, failing to say anymore before moving to the spot that he planned on drawing it. Having had his back towards Zeke, he would then proceed to shift into his fox form for the sake of gaining his claws before slashing at the palm of his hand, before using enhanced speed to finish drawing the circle just in case Zeke planned on attempting to stop him. The circle was done in a matter of minutes. He shifted back into his human form, feeling like he would be in so much trouble, since he failed to tell Zeke that he used blood when using hexes. Slowly he'd move to step into the circle before turning to look back to see Zeke's face expression, knowing he was likely in a lot of trouble just because this was Zeke were were talking about here. He'd reach out his hand, trying to encourage Zeke to come towards him, hoping their date wasn't off just because of this action he had just done. If worse comes to worse, I'll just heal my hand up.... No big deal... He thought to himself, knowing once more it would require his blood since he didn't use chalk.
As Kiernan mentioned creating the hex circle, Zeke nodded at him, expecting his boyfriend to bring out chalk. Then a painful sensation entered the dragon's hand. Stunned, the PTSD-ridden man felt overwhelmed by the actions his beloved kitsune was taking for the teleportation. The short-haired man took a few steps back, hands reaching to cover his mouth in horror. A gasp escaped his lips as he watched the events. Afterwards, his boyfriend became human again, standing in front of him, seemingly not bothered by his actions.
[break][break]
A tremored breath escaped Zeke's lips as the claws of anxiety sank into him. Tears were surfacing in his eyes as Kiernan offered his hand. Alas, the former general found himself distraught about the events that unfolded in front of him. A soft whimper escaped Zeke's mouth as he stepped forward, his hands reaching for Kiernan's wounded one. The former general's hands were shaky as he reached for the long-haired man's hand. If he knew the consequences of teleporting, Zeke would have suggested walking rather than the swifter method.
[break][break]
"Why d-did you do that?" He murmured, voice fragile.
[break][break]
The softness of his voice was interrupted by the worrisome whimper leaving his lips. A sniffle left the dragon, his breathing heavy after witnessing Kiernan injure himself for their teleportation.
Kiernan had used enhanced speed to finish the circle but hadn't failed to hear the noise Zeke had made. It was why he felt so hesitate upon finishing to turn back to look towards Zeke to see his face expression, guilt overwhelming as he saw the horror as his face expression and later a noise of a whimper. He then would reach out his hand, trying to encourage Zeke towards him, not even thinking about which one had been extended to Zeke until after his hand had already been taken and Zeke was asking why he did it. Kiernan found himself looking at the ground, ashamed that he had done that to Zeke, not even realizing all it took was a little bit of phantom pain for him to be in this condition. "I..." He started but stopped, nothing could excuse his reasoning for using blood instead of chalk. His hand was still bleeding because he hadn't bothered to heal it, seeing as the hex had been used for teleportation use instead. "I heal.... I'm sorry...." He whispered, ashamed that he had bothered giving his excuse anyway. With them in the circle, he teleported them to the location, desiring to finish what he had started.
His hand closed into somewhat of a fist, being reminded that Zeke was holding his hand brought his attention to the fact that he was getting blood all over him. Slowly he'd attempt to pull away, for the sake of wiping his blood off of Zeke, still looking down at the ground.
Concerns consumed the dragon as he stared at Kiernan's wounded hand. Successfully, his hands managed to delicately hold the injured limb, palm up. Blood pooled from the cut, the life liquid oozing from the self-inflicted injury the kitsune accomplished. Tears clouded Zeke's vision the longer his hazel eyes locked onto the palm of Kiernan's precious, delicate hand. This was the hand the dragon would hold tightly in his sometimes and the hand that assisted in returning the hugs he bestowed upon his precious Kiernan.
[break][break]
Carefully, the former general caressed Kiernan's hand, breaths deep throughout his staring. Stay calm. Keep breathing. Inhale. Exhale. The worries tore into Zeke the longer he stared at his boyfriend's wounded hand, wishing he never requested for teleportation. Walking was a perfect option if his precious kitsune risked being hurt because of the decision to teleport! It appeared his boyfriend struggled to discover the words to excuse the actions he committed, the simple mention of healing failing to ward away Zeke's frown.
[break][break]
Before the dragon could vocalize his concerns, light consumed them, the scene shifting. With their arrival into a new area, Zeke glanced around, providing Kiernan with the opportunity to withdraw his hand. As the warmth of his boyfriend's delicate flesh escaped, the former general's eyes locked on him. The frown deepened as his hand reached out, caressing his boyfriend's face in hopes for eye contact with those gorgeous silver hues.
[break][break]
"Kier, don't do that, okay?" He whispered to his beloved. "I don't like when you get hurt... sigh... we should find you a healer before supper."
[break][break]
An open gash carved Kiernan's palm, and Zeke refused to leave it until they finished eating. The father's instincts overtook the dragon as he prepared to insist on medical attention. Wounds could gain infections, a lesson quickly learned because of his involvement as a TRS general and... the harsh circumstances of his traumatic experience. He remembered the horrible swallowing of antibiotics and wished the process upon nobody, especially those he loved.
Kiernan found comfort in holding Zeke's hands but couldn't help but feel bad over getting his blood all over him. After they teleported, he had slowly pulled his hand away, desiring to refrain from getting anymore blood on him. He melted when Zeke had reached out to touch his face, caressing him. "I'm sorry." He mumbled again, viewing this as bad because of the phantom pain, not because he had hurt himself. He'd proceed to wiping his hand on his pants, knowing he was getting blood on it, but it meant no longer having the blood on his hand right at the moment. "Do you trust me?" He whispered, knowing that Zeke wasn't about to let this drop. Should Zeke say yes, he planned on making another circle to heal himself, if not that would be fine too. He didn't blame Zeke for being concerned over his well being.
Concerns consumed Zeke the longer his dearest Kiernan remained without medical attention. The pulsating phantom pain echoing in his hand only inspired further worry. The blood gracing Zeke’s hands was limited, albeit, noticeable. A sheer glance at the res evident across his pale flesh and metallic prosthetic left the dragon’s stomach churning. Knowing the blood’s owner was Kiernan added a slight paling to the dragon’s face. Always he worried about the man he crushed on for centuries, therefore, a minor incident became a travesty.
[break][break]
The former general found his eyes locking on his boyfriend, hazel hues clouded thick with concern. Tears were still evident in Zeke’s eyes, the father of two attempting to refrain from growing any more visibly upset. Nonetheless, the dragon continued to caress his lover’s face, hoping it would assist him in understanding what he accomplished was wrong. The gentle way Kiernan melted to the sensation. He added to it, allowing his thumb to softly rub his boyfriend’s cheek. The gently spoken apology was met with silence as Zeke struggled to add words; the last thing he wanted was to break down in public.
[break][break]
An inquiry about trust escaped Kiernan lips, something crucial to a relationship.
[break][break]
Without hesitation, Zeke spoke, “Of course I do… I love you.”
[break][break]
There was a fragility to the dragon’s voice as he spoke, but every word rang with truth. The kitsune meant plenty to Zeke and he trusted the man wholeheartedly. With those words, the former general watched Kiernan pull away, making another hex. Anxiously he waited, granting the man his trust because of his love.
Kiernan had seen Zeke's expression, understanding what he had done was wrong. Viewing it more as problematic because it had happened in front of Zeke and he couldn't help but believe Zeke had felt that. It was difficult to not believe such things when he had felt Zeke when he had been tortured by AP. He asked if Zeke trusted him, feeling a small smile form on his lips when he heard the reply. "I love you too." He whispered before pulling away, using his blood to make another hex before moving in to step inside. No sooner had he done so, the healing hex took affect and the wound on the palm of his hand was healed. Slowly he waked back towards Zeke, reaching out his hand because he believed Zeke would feel comfort in seeing the cut gone.
Anxiously, Zeke observed his boyfriend from a distance, placing his faith entirely in Kiernan. Nonetheless, his hands came together, wringing one another as he sucked in a bottom lip and gently chewed it. Due to his boyfriend's ingredients for hexes, the dragon struggled to not hold any nervousness in the depths of his heart. He hated watching Kiernan harming himself to create a hex, although, he understood people were desperate at times... The traumas he endured when captured by the Assembly of Phantoms made him more sensitive to things than before...
[break][break]
Witnessing blood on anybody left an uncomfortable pit inside his stomach. The traces of Kiernan's blood on his hands was accidentally smeared, leaving a stickier mess. The realization resulted in Zeke's eyes straying and locking onto his blood filthy hands. A grimace contorted his countenance after noticing the red substance on his hands. A fresh frown dropped onto his face as he slowly glanced back at Kiernan's work. The hex glowed as the dark-haired man activated it, Zeke quietly observing the action.
[break][break]
Fortunately, when the kitsune returned to him, his hand was shown. The skin had knitted together, completely healed and no longer bleeding. The dragon smiled, forcing himself to avoid every instinct to hug him. The last thing Zeke wanted was to make his boyfriend dirty with blood...
Kiernan did't waste any time creating the hex, wanting Zeke to be happy once more. It was a top priority and he knew he had been behind upsetting Zeke. It hurt to know that he had upset Zeke, having to remind himself to be super cautious around him since he had been tortured when he was working for TRS because AP had caught him. As soon as the hex healed him, he walked back towards Zeke, hoping that his heal being healed would smooth things over, to his surprise it seemed like Zeke might have been somewhat distant with him, so he decided to take action, by suddenly wrapping his arms around him in a hug. It was one thing when he was getting blood on Zeke, but now this was completely different, unaware of Zeke's reasons for choosing to have distance had been the same reason as his only moments prior.
