PLOT
ONCE UPON A TIME...
Back when the world was a happier place, the four dimensional plains, Hell, Heaven, Earth and Purgatory lived passively together. The four gods of each plain ruled over their dimension in blissful peace and found themselves quite content with the current affairs. The four gods consisted of: Enki of Earth, Volos of Hell, Akari of Heaven and Thanatos of Purgatory. The four rarely crossed paths, but for years were on good terms, but the peace never remains.
It was 200 BC when the predicament started. Volos had noticed that his creatures were no longer welcomed into Akari's dimension. The peculiar development caused the god to bring up the problem with the goddess of Heaven who merely stated that Heaven was not to be a haven for his dastardly, mischief causing creatures. Volos claimed that his creatures never once bothered Heaven and that this banishment was unjust of Akari. Insulting began until the fight grew into one that involved the use of abilities and caused Akari's realm to face harsh damages. The following day, Heaven and Hell went to war on each other, a war that would go down in history as The War of Traitors.
Upon the war's beginnings, it became obvious why exactly it was dubbed as The War of Traitors, since the soldiers picked sides based on belief alone. Some believed that Akari was in the right to banish the Hell creatures from her realm meanwhile others believed it was an injustice. Friends turned on friends, sisters on brothers and even lovers all betrayed each other in favor of the side they believed in. However, for the most part, the species of Heaven and Hell remained with their god who they held dearly.
The war was fought on Earth due to the fact that it acted as the bridge between Heaven and Hell, which was a large upset for Enki who frowned highly upon the actions of Volos and Akari. Alas, he merely thought that the entire war would not last for very long and that the creatures of his Earth would be safe. Thus, Enki abstained from the war despite the pleading of both Volos and Akari to join their side. Meanwhile, the creatures under Thanatos' rule were given freedom to do as they pleased since the god of Purgatory enjoyed the war since it brought activity to his realm and begging from those who wished to return as wraiths, his servants of judgement.
For two hundred years the war raged on in Enki's world, which caused an upset among the creatures on his plain. Their homes were being destroyed, families torn apart and lives demolished due to the war between Volos and Akari. Thus, the god of Earth brought the issue up with both Volos and Akari, however, anger flowed through their veins like molten iron and both refused to cease the war. That was when Enki realized he had little choice, but to find a way to close the gates of Heaven and Hell for the safety of his people.
Enki opened a portal into Purgatory, the realm of Thanatos and asked for his assistance. The god of death had long grown bored with people willingly throwing themselves back into the fight alongside the total destruction of souls. Their reckless behaviour had made the war a thing of hatred for him due to the fact that it plagued his wraiths, making them no longer servants of judgement. It also brought cause for many of the deceased to return as reapers via curses or his own hopeful choice alongside spirits who intensely desired vengeance. Thus, Thanatos agreed to assist Enki in order to put his realm back into the organization.
One day the duo went to Earth, and using their combined energy, sealed Volos and Akari into their realms. As a final assurance to end the long war, Thanatos sent out his loyal wraiths to assassinate the high commanding officers of both sides. Finally, a peace was brought to Earth, but both gods were weary from their accomplishment to end The War of Traitors. Thanatos returned to his realm where he was forced to stay to recover energy, meanwhile, Enki was forced to seal himself away into a long-lasting sleep. The war was finally over, ending in 1 AC and with the gods absent, those stranded on Earth began to only see the differences between each other. It became an act of dualism, with the various creatures only viewing their differences and fighting due to it. In the eyes of one mysterious person, this marked the need for a revolution.
In the year 1454 on a cool December day was when the new struggle for the creatures who remained on Earth started. It featured the rise of a person who would be known for sparking fear in the hearts of millions, a person who went by Zeredah who stated that things needed to change. With the gods gone and people still fickle about the war years ago, a revolution was needed. At first, people supported the concept of change and the promises that Zeredah brought since it meant people would maybe be happy again, however, that soon changed.
Zeredah stated that anybody who disobeyed her strict laws were to be publicly executed in order to maintain her ideal society. In order to enforce her ideas upon the various species on Earth, she brought with her sickening creatures of both fear and death. Some looked akin to shadows, capable of transforming into one's greatest fears in order to make them unable to focus or too scared to act. Meanwhile, others were sickening being mutated animal akin creatures with several machine features added to them. These creatures were terrible atrocities that caused a majority of people to believe that following Zeredah was not the correct path to peace. Zeredah was outraged by the idea, and thus the war between these atrocities and Earth began. Some of the creatures of Earth joining Zeredah while others decided that morally this was not the correct path. Immediately, Zeredah attacked those who refused, but the creatures of Earth who refused retaliated and drove away Zeredah's forces for the time being. Those who joined with Zeredah formed the Assembly of Phantoms and worked towards starting her revolution.
Later on, the creatures became known as terrors and a few weeks after the first attack, an organization meant to defend citizens was founded. This organization was called the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS). They began to protect citizens accordingly and got the best training that could be provided in order to fend off the terrors epidemic. However, there is a lack of trust within the Terror Response Syndicate as the scars still run deep from the War of Traitors. Some refuse to trust one another, leaving the world's future questionable.
Hundreds of years later in the city of Lorsette in Newfoundland, Canada, the situation has been horrible. The terror epidemic has been focused on the city and sightings of Zeredah herself have been said to be occurring. The Terror Response Syndicate is desperate for troops and Lorsette gets subjected to terror attacks almost daily. Within the defence force itself, the various species still have difficulties trusting one another due to their past, which has left the city wondering if it will survive the following years. Now the real question is, do you stand beside us? Or are you opposed and prepared to show the duality of man?
