Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

There was a warmth inside Abel the longer he spoke with Benjamin, the individual he was supposedly married to. The location the green-haired man placed the ring summoned hope. Despite everything negative which happened between them and the changes the blond underwent, Benjamin appeared keen on accepting those differences. Never had the golem felt the extremes of love, his husband's enamoured state manifesting pure happiness. The golem relaxed against the back stand of the couch, comfort being discovered because of their interactions.
[break][break]
Happiness was discovery, the abode Benjamin brought him to genuinely starting to feel homely, although, Abel believed the green-haired man's presence assisted with those feelings. Then those magnificent words escaped Benjamin's lips which prompted the golem's emotion transmitters to manifest a fluster. Despite only recently becoming reacquainted with one another, the green-haired man confirmed he desired the marriage to proceed if he held a similar certainty. Softly, Abel smiled through his flustered, pleased at his husband's respectful choice in the situation.
[break][break]
The golem watched Benjamin exit the room, thus he fixated on the photo album provided by him. Precious memories preserved in these paper-like replicas and cautiously safeguarded by the album. Softly, his fingers graced the pages, admiring the work and pleased by the comfort officially discovered by gazing upon them. One day, he would find a method to recover his memories and plunge deep into the beautiful realm of happiness. Hope finally shone onto the golem as he prayed those memories would eventually return to him.
[break][break]
The blond patiently waited for his husband's returning, noticing him briefly come back before exiting again. Quietly, Abel waited, proceeding to gaze over the photographs. A small smile played across the golem's face, alas, tones of nervousness continued to enter his mind. The reassurances granted by Benjamin settled him somewhat relaxed, however, he still discovered difficulties. Only moments later did Abel hear footsteps returning, the green-haired man's voice reaching his ears and attracting his attention quickly.
[break][break]
"What? How?" Abel inquired, voice confused.
[break][break]
The golem shifted, unable to move from the position of his own volition. His countenance spoke plenty, bewilderment conquering each aspect as his golden irises locked directly on Benjamin. He desired an explanation before agreeing to become charged by whatever method Benjamin planned. Perhaps it was his reliance on other forms of charging, but Abel struggled to conclude. Due to forgotten memories, the green-haired man was a mystery, but an alluring one that maintained his attention without fault. This individual was interesting, and Benjamin loved every second of it.
Benjamin noticed Abel's confusion, he would pull away when Abel asked his question. He could hear Abel shifting to try and face him, but he had moved away from the couch to grab a kitchen chair, he'd open the door before setting the chair down before walking back towards Abel. "I think it would be easier to show you." He answered with a small smile on his face. "If I move you to the chair, you'll be able to see what is in the garage so that there is no surprises." He suggested, wanting to somewhat surprise Abel but at the same time, he'd gladly explain further as soon as Abel had gotten a chance to see it for himself. "And if what you see in the garage isn't something you want to be charged with, we can find something else." He added, hopeful that it wouldn't come to this but he wasn't about to force Abel into anything either, it was why he had placed the chair inside the house instead of trying to encourage Abel into the garage.
It would give him a chance to show him instead of having to assist Abel closer to the equipment that he had brought over here. "You mentioned that what ever you use to charge with will fry the device, I wanted to find out if this would get fried or not." He explained himself, besides, he was all for trying out other ways to charge, including but not limited to, trying to power up his own electricity. He slowly would move to stand in front of Abel, preparing to help him if he would agree to it. If he wasn't willing to go, he planned to stand by his word, that he would find something else to charge Abel with.

Perplexed, Abel attempted to shift his body, desiring to witness Benjamin's idea to give him power. After years of existing in this hefty body, there were few methods used to recharge his mechanical body. The first included resting in the specialized bed which doubled as a wireless charger meanwhile the second involved draining energy from appliances and effectively breaking them. However, his clever believed husband was somebody with ideas hidden in his sleeves, which was something Abel could admire about the green-haired man.
[break][break]
Quick-thinking tactics accompanied by some resourcefulness were positives in any situation. These intelligent ideas were already impressing Abel despite not being shown Benjamin's invention. Curiosity was piqued because of Benjamin mentioning a possible solution to the power situation. The green-haired man mentioned showing him, Abel listening to the sounds of movement as the man prepared his grand reveal. Quietly, Abel listened to every word mentioned by Benjamin, intrigue increasing with each passing sentence which escaped his lips.
[break][break]
"Okay... I am just wondering what the hell you have planned," Abel responded. "What could you possibly do to charge me up?"
[break][break]
Clueless, the golem remained stationed on the couch, unable to move because of the damage down by the female bounty hunter. The electricity was manipulated from his circuits, only small portions still roaming for operation while his soul assisted with providing energy. The option of using the machine was appreciated, however, Abel knew avoiding Benjamin's plan could potentially mean a stumble home to charge... As Benjamin proceeded to speak, the blond offered nods of acknowledgement despite being in a different room, alas, Abel was clueless on what else to do.
[break][break]
Eventually, the green-haired man returned to the living room, the golem watching as he moved closer. Assistance was offered in the form of an arm being lent. Slowly, Abel reached for him, subtle joy transcending over the golem because of their closeness. Heavily, the weighty bounty hunter attempting to stabilize, steadying himself as he prepared to move forward and finally witness what Benjamin made.
Benjamin couldn't help but smile at Abel in return. "You'll see." He answered, being playful about it. Their conversation resumed, he attempted to try and comfort Abel into at least moving towards the kitchen chair so that he'd be able to see what had been placed in the garage. He offered his hand out to Abel before adjusting to help Abel move towards the kitchen chair so that he could show him the garage. He moved him slowly towards the kitchen chair, assisting him with taking a seat before moving into the garage to show him the equipment inside there. Inside the garage was a bed, to the side was equipment for the Defibrillation. Though it was true this was meant to be used to revive one back to life, he couldn't help but believe that it also could be used to power up Abel with electricity. It wasn't the only thing that he had going in his favor though, he also had an idea that really shouldn't be tried at home.
That meant his old bike being placed upside down, while riding on it, with a few cords attached to encourage electricity being created. Of course he had yet to do that, he wanted to try this first way first. Slowly he would move towards the Defibrillation equipment, "I was going to use this to give you electricity so that you'd be able to charge. Since it is meant to have electricity I was hoping for it not to break, but we'll just have to wait and see." He answered with a friendly smile as he moved away from the Defibrillation, as he looked back towards Abel, waiting to hear his approval or disapproval.

Across Benjamin's face was a smile, Abel's yellow iris' locking onto the grin stretched onto the man's countenance. That broad smile was beautiful, pleasant and welcoming. There was an affectionate nature to Benjamin's entire expression, a trait that brought a hesitant smile onto the golem's lips. The grin was small, however, filled with appreciation and endearment towards the green-haired man. Together, they ventured through the living room, gradually moving through the room and heading to the threshold into the kitchen.
[break][break]
When they entered the kitchen, Abel's eyes glanced around, exploring the setup. Slowly, the bounty hunter shuffled through the kitchen, attempting to avoid leaning too heavily on Benjamin. They moved together, one of the kitchen chairs being closed in on as they moved. When they reached the chair, Abel was eased onto the kitchen chair, easing against the backrest to finally relieve Benjamin's body of the weight. Once on the chair, the bounty hunter relaxed, waiting for the green-haired man to reveal the device he created to charge him.
[break][break]
The door opened, the devices were revealed and surprise crawling onto his expression when he witnessed what Benjamin created. A defibrillation machine was in one corner while a bicycle was in the other. The plan appeared similar to something witnessed in cartoons, but with few methods to charge his mechanisms and energy waning, Abel knew the peculiar plan could be his only opportunity to regain the lost electricity.
[break][break]
"It is interesting... I mean, it's worth a try. There isn't much else that can give me charge unless I go home or drain something," Abel hesitantly responded. "Which one do you think is better?"
[break][break]
The blonde was uncertain about the situation, however, options were limited. He wished to visit his father but required proper charging to accomplish the objective. Therefore, Abel agreed to the unorthodox method of charging, praying he would be charged by one of the devices.
Benjamin helped Abel slowly to the chair, not wishing to rush him. Once he was settled, he showed him what was in the garage. He waited for Abel to tell him what he thought. "I'd like to try the Defibrillation equipment first and if it doesn't work, I have another plan." He explained, as he waited for Abel to agree or disagree. Once they came to an agreement, he would attempt to help Abel into the garage, moving to set him onto the bed that he had placed here before trying to encourage him to lay down on it. Normally one would use the Defibrillation machine to try and bring one not breathing back, however, he was only using the electricity. He couldn't help but hope that this method wouldn't harm Abel, since it wasn't everyday that you needed electricity to charge oneself. "Tell me if you need to stop." He pleaded, wanting this to be Abel's choice. He didn't want Abel to possibly dislike him as if this choice had been forced onto him, it wasn't and they could cease at any time during this process. He hoped to have Abel on the bed, so that he could proceed with the Defibrillation charging method.

[attr="class","lovemad2"]
For a golem partially powered off of electricity, charging methods were crucial to assure Abel's body would operate to its best capacity. Alas, this situation merely called for being capable of moving without issues being manifested from the weight of his metallic body. There was subtle uncertainty in the blond's gaze, however, he was desperate to regain some energy. Thus, Abel planned on agreeing for trying these strange methods of receiving electricity. Once he agreed, Benjamin returned to his side, lending him into the garage.
[break][break]
As a reckless individual, Abel was not afraid of these machines, but rather, concerned they would fail to provide ample electricity for his battery. Once returned to his feet, the blond moved slowly through the threshold, assisted by his husband. Each step was hefty, the weight of the bounty hunter's body making for louder, shuffle-like steps. The explanation was listened to, every word being sensible considering defibrillation machines were used for creating electricity in hopes of getting the heart to proceed to beat. In Abel's opinion, Benjamin's theory was sound considering the entire reason for the existence of those types of machines.
[break][break]
The golem was guided into the garage and taken to the bed, slowly being leaned down onto the piece of furniture. Once settled, he heard Benjamin's plea for him to inform him if he needed to stop. A hand was brought up, gently wrapping around the green-haired man's hand.
[break][break]
"I'll be okay," Abel promised.
[break][break]
Afterwards, he released Benjamin's hand, settling back onto the bed. The golem adjusted slightly, eyes briefly glancing at the green-haired man in hopes of bracing for impact.
Benjamin was relieved to hear Abel agree before helping him stand to move him over to the bed. Benjamin pleaded with Abel before smiling when he heard his comment. Feeling calmer when Abel had wrapped his hand around his own. He prepared the Defibrillation equipment before moving it closer to Abel. It wasn't like anybody was here to risk touching Abel when one were to have the Defibrillation touching the patient, however old habits die hard. "Clear." He mumbled before touching Abel with it. Sparks seemed to come from the Defibrillation equipment, he couldn't help but feel curious on if it was working or not. It encouraged him to keep going since it seemed to him that Abel was fine. He was waiting for Abel to tell him to stop but it seemed to not come before he did it a second time. "Clear." Another mumble just before he touched Abel with it. In theory, Abel should be able to charge by this method, however he wasn't experienced enough to say for certain. He prepared for a third time before saying, "Clear." The Defibrillation machine still had power, this would go on in means of charging Abel as soon as he became tired of the process he would pause before asking, "How are you feeling?"
My my, I just can't lie It's the speed and the sound that I'm dying to try

[attr="class","lovemad2"]
Nervousness was void of Abel, the circumstances of his occupation providing him both a sense of courage and recklessness. Being a bounty hunter manifested the blond's willingness to try Benjamin's idea of using a defibrillation machine to recharge the electrical components of the golem's body. Options were limited and Abel wished to reunite with the father mentioned by Benjamin as quickly as possible. With his lacking memory and the conflicting statements of his mother, the blond wanted to gain the opportunity to speak with the mystery man.
[break][break]
Subtle adjustments were made, Abel settling onto the bed, eyes watching as Benjamin prepped the defibrillation machine. A mumbled word escaped the green-haired man's lips, the blond bracing himself for the worse possible situation. The flat, metal portions of the machine pressed against Abel's chest, electricity pulsating through his body. The golem grunted from the intensity, the batteries absorbing the incoming electricity. There was a slight sensation of pain, however, it was nothing the golem could not handle.
[break][break]
There was time to recover before the next mumble came followed by another shock. A grunt was a natural reaction, more electricity being absorbed. The amount he received was limited, however, Abel was desperate and would cling to any electricity he could receive. The energy was needed to allow him to move again, therefore, the blond was willing to bear through the pain. The sensation ceased, Abel using his opportunity to recover once the defibrillation machine pulled away from his chest. The bounty hunter remained silent, clearly being capable of handling some pain.
[break][break]
The third 'clear' warning escaped Benjamin's lips, metal plates colliding with his chest, electricity entering his body again, roaming his wires and recharging the batteries some more. The amount gained remained limited, however, any energy was welcomed. A final grunt left, relief arriving when Benjamin pulled the defibrillator away from his, an inquiry being made about his health.
[break][break]
"I'm okay," he grumbled out. "But, I'm not gaining much from it."
[break][break]
Gradually, the blond sat up from the bed he was placed on. There was a subtle wobble to his movements, his energy limited. His eyes fixated on Benjamin, waiting to hear if he had any ideas. Energy was still required, but the methods being given were not providing much, meaning they would be time-consuming.
Benjamin had noticed Abel's reactions each and every time he had used the Defibrillation equipment but chose to keep going because he wanted to charge Abel so that he could take him to see his father. He felt concerned when asking about Abel's health, determining his next course of action. He listened when Abel gave his answer before adding how he wasn't getting much electricity from it. "I understand." He'd answer before setting the Defibrillation equipment back on the machine. He'd move towards his bike, flipping it upside down before attaching cords too it. "This is going to require your assistance." He answered, giving Abel warning before he moved to sit on the bike. "You're going to have to press the Defibrillation equipment against your chest as I had been doing." He instructed, waiting for Abel to lift it up before starting. He knew the risks involved with powering up the Defibrillation machine but restoring Abel's energy took priority.
Of course he planned to refrain from admitting such things to Abel. "Ready when you are." He answered, starting to pedal as soon as Abel had lifted the Defibrillation equipment as means of charging himself. Sparks would show as more electricity went from the Defibrillation machine and into Abel's body. The process would remain the same, having to press it against ones self before pulling it away to repeat the process. The only difference is that the Defibrillation machine wasn't used to the amount of electricity flowing through it. He continued pedaling with the intention of going faster. His consequence was increasing the electricity going into Abel, before the machine shot off some electricity from the cords Benjamin had attached to it, shocking him in the process. Pain entered his body, forcing himself to continue on despite possible disapproval from Abel.

The crazed ideas Benjamin possessed surprised Abel, making him concerned about what he planned. While energy was required, the golem was worried safety would be thrown out the window in favour of assuring that specific goal was accomplished. These charging ideas were notions that never entered the blond's head, hence his inevitable unsettlement with the entire situation being presented to him. With choices limited and Benjamin's determination accompanied by seeming confidence with the lack of hesitation being displayed, Abel thought everything would be alright.
[break][break]
There was a confirmed understanding stated in Benjamin's words. Whatever would occur after the first failure was uncertain, but Abel observed as his husband prepared his following changing plan. A brow was raised as Benjamin moved towards the back to enact his next convoluted plan. The bicycle was flipped upside down, cords being attached to the man-powered transport vehicle. There was confused reflected on Abel's expression as he witnessed the green-haired man prepare the upcoming plan to charge him. The golem wondered if heading home and resting on the wireless charging pad was easier...
[break][break]
The blond's attentiveness was fixated on his green-haired lover as he waited for more explanation. Slow nods were provided as Benjamin stated the following plan required his assistance and instructed about the task placed upon his shoulders. The golem would receive the task of defibrillating himself.
[break][break]
"I see... How did you come up with this?" Abel inquired, genuinely curious.
[break][break]
There were no doubts about Benjamin's intelligence, but the created plan was something the blond could have never expected. A source of these plans seemed probable considering the complex wiring required to make the idea work. Slowly, the bounty hunter reached for the defibrillation machine, hands carefully grasping the handles and hefty the large, delicate machines. Slowly, the blond eased back into a laying position, hoping it would be easier to press the metal plates against his chest in this position.
[break][break]
When settled, the golem spoke, "I'm ready."
[break][break]
The pedalling began after Abel's confirmation. Electricity flowed from the bike, reaching the defibrillation machine where it represented itself in sparks that covered the metallic surface. Moments later, Abel pushed the device against his chest, a loud grunt leaving his mouth as a strong current of electricity coursed through his circuits. Fingers curled tightly against the defibrillator machine's handles, pulling them away from his chest. The currents were drawn into the golem's battery packs, restoring a portion of the energy.
[break][break]
The dangers went unnoticed as Abel realized his energy was efficiently being restored by the convoluted plan Benjamin hatched. The devices were pressed against his chest again, another grunt leaving the blond from the subtle pain as he absorbed the required energy. Systems were becoming stronger, his body functioning more fluidly from the provided electricity. The defibrillator was pulled away for a brief break before being pressed against his chest to increase the currents through his wiring.
[break][break]
Another grunt, a few moments of electricity surging through before he pulled the device away. Alas, before Abel could continue, he noticed phantom pains riddling his body. The golem glanced to his side, finally noticing the dangers leaking between the cables that connected the defibrillator to the bicycle. The machines were returned to their stand, Abel hastily moving from the bed, trying to grab Benjamin to pluck him off the machine and move him somewhere safer. There was no time to speak, Benjamin's safety being more important than anything else.
[break][break]
"We're you in danger this whole time?!" Abel shouted.
[break][break]
Concern mingled with aggravation after noticing Benjamin was placing himself in peril for his benefit. His worries were aimed towards the green-haired man's health while the anger was directly fixated on himself. He felt horrible for not being more attentive to his husband's safety. It was obvious with the haphazardous wiring between the bicycle and the defibrillator, but he had idiotically ignored it...
Benjamin could hear Abel moving hastily before grabbing him from the bike. The sudden jerk caused him somewhat to lose his balance, arms wrapping around Abel in hope that they'd not fall onto the floor. As soon as distance was made between them and the Defibrillation machine, he heard Abel speak, flinching at his words. He side glanced to the ground, not wishing to lie to Abel even though it was the case this whole time. Silence continued before finally he broke it to look back towards Abel, answering his question. "Consequence is a risk I'm willing to make if it benefits you." He answered honestly, more than willing to do it again, too Abel's displeasure. He'd be damned if anybody stopped him from doing so.
My my, I just can't lie It's the speed and the sound that I'm dying to try

[attr="class","lovemad2"]
Endless concerns flooded through Abel's mind after plucking Benjamin off the dangerous contraption. Charging his batteries to allow movement was important, however, it hardly compared to the green-haired man's life. A frown hung on the blond's expression as his eyes glanced over his husband. He analyzed the man's appearance, the golem thoroughly worried about the man who was determined to help him. The blond was glad he managed to scoop Benjamin off the dangerous machine and onto the safety of the garage floor.
[break][break]
A slight calmness enveloped Abel when his observations noticed no severe injuries on Benjamin's body. Worry remained, but lesser than his previous concerns. Silence had followed the blond man's question, thus, he began staring at the green-haired man. The golem's eyes were wide with worry as he gazed at Benjamin's face. Eventually, the silence was broken when his husband finally provided an answer which only raised more concerns. Immediately, Abel's eyes widened as he stared at Benjamin, hearing his willingness to sacrifice his safety for his well-being.
[break][break]
Abruptly, the blond reached out, wrapping his arms around the green-haired man, pulling him into a tight embrace. Sorrow and anger claimed his heart upon hearing Benjamin's words, his willingness to abandon everything and enter the unknown abyss of death.
[break][break]
"Don't you ever say that again!" Abel shouted, still holding the green-haired man. "Do you think I will be happy knowing you died for me?! I don't want that Ben! If you love me, then damn well stay safe and stay beside me! Don't go putting yourself in danger or getting yourself killed!"
[break][break]
The embrace was tightened, a protectiveness entering its nature as Abel refused to release his husband. He was furious that Benjamin thought to sacrifice his safety was imperative to get him charged. If an injury had befallen the precious, long-haired man, Abel would have felt horrible. Furthermore, after being courageously rescued by Benjamin, he did not wish to witness him injured or dead because of Abel's needs or choices. The golem desired to live alongside his husband, the special connection shared between them was sacred and something he was beginning to enjoy again.
[break][break]
He refused to allow Thanatos' cold grip to grasp the attractive, long-haired man, thus, the hug continued. Letting go was never considered as concern fueled actions.
Benjamin was surprised when Abel had suddenly reached out, wrapping his arms around him. It had been a while since he last was hugged by his husband and he found himself selfishly savoring this. His raised his arms to hug Abel in return, knowing this hug might not last but he'd be damned if he didn't attempt to make it last much longer. He flinched as Abel's words reached his ears. It was clear to him that Abel was displeased, though if it meant benefiting Abel what was wrong with this method of charging? "I don't think anybody would be happy, of course if it is between you living or not, yes I'd do it." He whispered before adding, "But I won't put myself out there again because I do love you and will be safe because that is what you want. Just as I want you to remain beside me and learn to love me, again." He answered, unable to bring himself to release Abel. Thankfully Abel had tightened the embrace instead of loosening it, giving him exactly what he wanted. He closed his eyes as he slowly breathed in and out, finding their hug comforting. "You'll stay beside me, won't you?" He whispered, hoping that Abel really planned on giving their relationship a shot.
My my, I just can't lie It's the speed and the sound that I'm dying to try
[break]
[attr="class","lovemad2"]
The embrace Abel captured Benjamin in was tight, his arms refusing to budge. The pain inflicted on his precious husband disturbed the blond. The green-haired man's willingness to sacrifice everything for his well-being was beyond noble, however, unwanted. Trapped inside the golem's arms was the single person aware of the truth in his past. The person who through those abhorrent actions was still determined to show him love and affection. When Benjamin returned the hug, Abel's grip became tighter, protectiveness remaining as he embraced.
[break][break]
Somewhere beneath the circuits and careful wiring was an intense care for the green-haired man. Between them was a special connection, something which could never be broken through the removal of memories. Thus, Abel's metallic hands stayed permanently locked around Benjamin. Silence overtook Abel as he awaited his husband's answer. When words escaped his lover's lips, Abel's eyes narrowed into a glare, but before he could rebuttal, Benjamin proceeded to speak. Those whispered words followed by a confession of love...
[break][break]
A redness breached Abel's cheeks as the specialized emotion-displaying technology completed its functions. The final words were a desire of reciprocation in staying safe and standing beside one another. Patience was exhibited when Benjamin stated he would wait until the day the golem learned to love him again. His eyes traveled down, locking on the sweet man settled comfortably in his arms. How could he be so comfortable when laying against his hard body? The final whisper was a question, Abel's eyes beaming as his thoughts shifted.
[break][break]
For once, there was somebody who could adore the monstrous body granted to him, someone willing to handle his personality despite the negatives... and this individual was lying in his arms.
[break][break]
"I... I'll try... But no dying for me... I may look in trouble sometimes, but I am fine," Abel whispered in return.
[break][break]
An agreement was required, however, Abel had the impression Benjamin would refuse to agree. While the golem appreciated the green-haired man's nobility, his sturdy body was specially designed. Only when his heartcore was shattered would it be curtains for the bounty hunter. It allowed Abel to take a harsh beating, but still be rebuilt with only horrible memories of the painful experience. Thus, he refused to allow Benjamin to sacrifice himself when it could be unnecessary.
