Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Quentin had volunteered to head out to the store for Cato, having gotten low on supplies again. He had gone into his bedroom to grab his wallet, as to make sure that he had it on him because he didn't want to be embarrassed by leaving it at home again, before walking down the hall and out of the front door. He had found his walk peacefully, not too many people out and about. Upon getting to the store, he wandered around until he had gathered all of the required supplies before going to the cashier to pay for them. He then proceeded to leave the store and head back home, pausing when it had become somewhat crowded. Instead of rushing home, he had stopped in another store, somewhat curious about it. He wandered around the store, looking at the different clothing, some being shirts, others being pants, there were some sweaters he couldn't help but be interest in as well. Of course he knew that he was limited on money and wouldn't be able to make another purchase so it made the effort to try and ignore the urge.
A hour had gone by before he had exited, having gotten somewhat side tracked. In the middle of his walk, he had found himself distracted by the view of the park, unaware that Nicolas was preparing to throw a fire ball at the light post. It had been coming towards him and he noticed it at the last second, attempting to back away as to dodge it but it had disappeared before making contact with him. I have to remind myself that there are people out there, interesting in testing out their powers or possibly willing to hit me. He thought to himself, being silent, he raised his hand as to wave Nicolas off. It was supposed to be a no problem, as he started walking away again. The sooner I get these supplies home, the sooner I can linger in my room and hide from all of these people. He thought to himself as he attempted to continue his walk. Cars were driving on the road, but appeared to be rare, so despite the sign saying that it wasn't safe to go.
He started crossing the street anyway. There was a car down the street, speeding, not expecting somebody to cross the street in front of him, not given enough time to break as to avoid hitting him in the process. Had he known an oncoming car was approaching, he would have bothered waiting his turn, but because it wasn't there yet, he thought he would have time to cross without any trouble. He was wrong. In the back of his mind, he couldn't help but wish that he had control over his phase power, at least then it would give him the assistance necessary to dodge the oncoming car.
Quentin had started his walk back home, he hadn't realized Nicolas had gone the same direction. Though found himself started when he first heard the comment before suddenly being tucked backwards and out of the street. The car honking because he had been crossing on a red, startled him, as he lost his grip on the bag in his hands, losing his balance because Nicolas heel of his foot had hit the curb. The bag had fallen a few feet from them, he reached out to rub his shoulder after it had hit the ground. He heard Nicolas question and found himself frowning slightly. "I'm fine." He mumbled before glancing away from him. I would be better if I could get control over that damn phase power of mine.... He thought to himself, reaching up, he'd grab the hood of his jacket to pull it up as to hide himself slightly. Oh shit.... it fell out of the bag..... He thought to himself, annoyed as he inched away to gather the stuff back in his bag. First a fire ball.... then a car speeding..... The damn driver didn't have to honk at me. He thought to himself, clearly giving Nicolas the silent treatment.
Quentin had heard Nicolas, perhaps giving him the silent treatment had been a bad idea, but the guy had thrown a fire ball at him earlier. He wasn't used to talking to people, finding no motive behind such conversations. Besides the guy who had killed him had made it quite clear that he had been AP before murdering other people, it had been his reason for being killed next. Of course those memories never resurfaced but he couldn't bring himself to be happy over the idea of befriending other people when he might just kill them later anyway, unaware that claim had been a lie and he had really been a TRS medic. He had started reaching out for the medical supplies, wanting to return them to the back so that he could give them to Cato as soon as he got home, but before he got the chance to collect all of the items, another car had started driving by and he was currently on the side, reaching into the street for the last item.
He failed to notice that Nicolas had stood up from the ground, too focused on placing the supplies back in the bag. Though he had taken notice of the car driving down the road for him, honking because he had yet to move out of the way. Just as he grabbed the item, darkness seemed to engulf the bag and himself, sinking into the ground before being spat out just behind Nicolas. He landed on his butt and couldn't help but frown slightly. Nicolas had crouched down in front of him with a cocky smirk on his lips, clearly this had amused him at least one of them was amused on the matter. He would side glance away from Nicolas, annoyed that he seemed so pleased with himself, all because he had control over his powers and yet he couldn't seem to get a single one to work when he demanded it. "You must really be pleased with yourself, able to control your powers." He mumbled before reaching out for his bag to see that it was spilled over again. "SERIOUSLY?" He asked, not meaning to be rude to Nicolas, it just had come out that way.
Items lay across the sidewalk, but the bag that had once held them had been ripped in the process. He wasn't sure when it had been ripped but now he'd be stuck carrying those items in his arms instead of having a bag to rely on. He glanced back towards Nicolas. "Duly noted on your opinion on crossing roads but I'm going that direction and refuse any other means of getting across." He countered, quickly reaching out for those items once more, planning on clinging to them this time. Damn phase power, why couldn't you kick in when I needed you to? He thought to himself, releasing a small sigh in the process.
Quentin hadn't meant to snap at Nicolas about his ripped bag, nor imply that he faulted him for it. He was just upset that he was currently bag less now. He was planning on remaining silent until he had heard Nicolas laughing, struggling to avoid saying anything at all as he picked up the supplies, planning on carrying it in his arms. He had given his comment back to Nicolas, only to hear his comment in return. He would glare towards him. "Corner streets are just as good as a fucking cross walk or street light...." He answered him in return, rolling his eyes when Nicolas told him to consider this to be karma because he had failed to thank him earlier. Nicolas had turned away from him, he made the effort to adjust the supplies in his arms for them to become easier to carry in the process. Nicolas walked away, which was fine with him because in his mind he was nothing but trouble anyway. First a fire ball, then supposedly saving him, twice. He knew he was in the wrong, but he couldn't bring himself to admit it at this current time, too upset with his bag ripping to push his pride down and admit when he was wrong. He was finishing up with picking up the last of his supplies when Nicolas had crouched in front of him. The action had startled him and as he backed away, he had landed on his butt in the process.
Damn it, don't scare me like that! He thought to himself, glaring at Nicolas quietly. The plastic bag was offered and he couldn't help but stare at it, telling himself that it was too good to be true because everybody wanted something in return and he'd be no different. Slowly he reached out to grab it, planning to humor himself with how right he was, his hand touched the side of the bag to pull, only for Nicolas to continue holding it in the process. Nicolas spoke and he released the bag, "Knew it." He mumbled, knowing fully well that he would expect something in return, even if it was something that was supposed to come from him anyway. "Thank you for saving me." He answered, knowing that Nicolas likely wanted to hear that as well. "And for the bag." He added, unsure if he should trust Nicolas or not, there was a chance there was a hole in the bag after all, at least now Nicolas wouldn't be able to accuse him of being ungrateful. "I'm still crossing the street where I please." He added, not wanting Nicolas to believe he'd just roll over, even if he had won in getting him to thank him for a bag. Slowly he'd stand up, unwilling to grab the bag a second time, Nicolas would have to surrender it, unless he planned on keeping the bag for himself after all.
Quentin gave him the answer that he wanted to hear and he rolled his eyes at him. While he slowly made process to stand up, Nicolas had taken his hand in his own and helped him stand back up. He mentioned how he would be crossing the street where ever he pleased. He hadn't bothered reaching for the bag, having been determined to hold the supplies in his arms and head home without it. To his surprise, Nicolas had opened the bag before forcing the supplies to drop into the bag, before making his comment and slipping the handle of the bag over his wrist. I supposed I should have finished thanking him. He thought to himself as he debated on when he would go about doing it. Of course it would have to happen before they were to part ways, else where would the fun in that be? Nicolas had chuckled, stepping away from him before raising his hand in the air to salute him with two figures, as he greeted his farewell.
"Thank you for throwing a fire ball at me." He answered, pleased that he had managed to say so before Nicolas was out of ear shot. He turned to face the street, seeing as it was currently clear, he started to cross it. As he continued walking, a car could be heard from the distance as it inched closer and closer. He had seen it coming, so instead of waiting for the car to reach the intersection so that it would be able to cut him off, he started running as means of beating it across the street. The last thing he wanted was to encourage Nicolas over here, orrrr maybe....... He stopped on the other side of the street, turning, he'd have a smug grin on his face, since if Nicolas stuck around, that would likely be viewed as the third time he had almost been hit by a car. He'd raise his hand to his eye lid and pull it down, sticking his tongue out in the direction Nicolas had been at, prior to him crossing the street. His main goal had been to have revenge and boy was it sweet.
