wallace bogdan tell me reality is better than a dream. general info
appearance At approximately 5’11” tall, Wallace’s height lacks any imposing nature on account of it being only slightly above average. Under most circumstances, the man does not necessarily consider himself tall since it is a meagre two inches. Exercise is a common feature in Wallace’s life, resulting in him being rather muscular. Due to rigorous exercising regiments, he has managed to have abs and extremely strong legs. The most notable traits when it comes to Wallace’s body is obviously the fact he has lost his arms. Just above the elbow, Wallace’s arms have been removed because of a severe injury he received when he was an adolescent. The nubs are excellently healed from extensive medical work. After plenty of work with various parts, Wallace has created specialized metallic arms which can use his magic to be moved properly. These allow Wallace to have “arms” in a way, thus he uses these during work hours. The specialized prosthetics he created used dark coloured metals with receptors which feed off Wallace’s magic when strapped to him; these specialized prosthetics only have average human strength. Across Wallace’s fair skin are several other scars across his torso. On his chest is a single long one which crosses diagonally down to his abdomen. His left shoulder has another diagonal scar, a pinkish colouring to it. There are several smaller ones across his abdomen in faded, whitish colours. A youthful complexion is expected considering Wally’s biological age and his Faekin heritage. There is a softness to his face, resulting in a chosen few mistaking him for being under the age of majority. He has soft cheekbones which smoothly settle a little into his face. These cheeks lead down into a pointed chin, which lacks potential stubble; most people would describe him as baby-faced for his inability to grow facial hair. A mop of ginger hair covers his head, short cut to try and avoid any strands possibly falling into his eyes. Rarely is his hair properly groom, Wally usually keeping a dishevelled appearance to his hair unless there is an important occasion. There is something rather delicate about Wally’s eyes, his surprisingly long eyelashes providing a hint of feminine beauty. His eyes are a caramel colour, shades varying based on the room’s lighting. They tend to be their most bright and beautiful when in brightly lit areas. Under most circumstances, Wally is known to wear a moody expression on his face, however, this is most evident around strangers. Most notable about Wallace’s clothing choice are jackets which are oftentimes left open, allowing for a majority of people to witness the muscular body beneath. His favourite jacket which is frequently worn is of an orange colour with numerous pockets for storing items. Usually, tank tops are his favourited shirt, the style being solid colours; he does not favour graphic shirts. Baggy brown pants cover his lower half, a belt securing them around his waist. Rarely, the colour will be switched, but usually if changed it is to a similarly styled black colour. Footwear is best described as unremarkable since he prefers practicality over style. personality
abilities Aura Cast -- Beginner The ability to cast rapid healing over an area, potentially healing both friend and foe. Never being much of a healer, Wallace knows very little about the ability. While he was curious for a short amount of time, it died down after he discovered even his regular healing failed to function. Should Wallace use this ability, the side-effects could be horrendous and effect inefficient. Plant Manipulation -- Mastered The ability to control and coax plants to grow and move the way the user intends. For extensive periods of time, Wallace has used this ability to assist his uncle’s farm numerous times. The crops on the farm are oftentimes maintained with the assistance of plant manipulation, allowing for them to properly grow crops and hasten development should winter be arriving earlier than expected. Similarly, this ability is used to maintain health and manifest crops with excellent yields, allowing for them to make plenty of money because of Wallace’s mastery in plant manipulation. Furthermore, Wallace requires plants to act as artificial arms whenever he is not wearing the specially designed prosthetics. As a result, he is incredibly dexterous when using plants to move items or assist with work. This assists mostly in allowing Wallace to cope with his lack of arms, easily giving him opportunities most never expected from the young boy after his incident. Battle skills with his plant manipulation are excellent, however, they have never been used which means he would be mediocre in combat. Environmental Adaption -- Natural The ability to rapidly adapt to the environment around them, allowing the user to have an easier time surviving than others; especially if the environment is unknown to others. Unlike most people, Wallace can easily adapt to the environments presented to him, allowing him to survive easier than some people. As a result, he is durable against a variety of temperatures, moisture levels, amounts of sustenance, etc with little discomfort. Due to this, Wallace is slightly more durable against pollution than some faekin, however, direct contact can cause him some serious sickness. Plant Sensory -- Natural The ability to sense plants around them, allowing the user to detect species and if the plant is safe for consumption. Working in the agricultural field, this ability allows Wallace to detect plants and suitably to identify them. There would be no mistaking a good plant for a weed when he cleans up the area. Furthermore, it allows him to explore the forest in search of berries without having to worry about potential sickness. Camouflauge -- Intermediate The ability to naturally camouflage into the user’s surroundings, making them difficult to see. He is capable of hiding in a variety of surroundings, however, this constantly proves to not be the perfect disguise. While his body and clothes change colours to match the walls around him, he still occupies the space around him, meaning certain angles can easily allow someone to see him. Furthermore, being a meagre intermediate makes it so Wallace can only use this ability for approximately 30 minutes before growing tired. If he had direct contact with another individual, he can make them camouflage to the surrounding area as well; he can only accomplish this with one other person. When camouflaging himself and another individual, Wallace’s time is cut in half, making it 15 minutes. Healing -- Beginner The ability to heal biological organisms, restoring damaged areas to a better state. Wallace is completely unable to use this ability, making it essentially useless to him. He has attempted to train it, but he has extreme difficulty learning the ability. He wants to learn it to help others, but it hardly functions, much to his displeasure. backstory TRIGGER WARNING: Dismemberment, violence, murder, gore Happiness, the Bogdan family was filled to the brim with it, especially as an overzealous couple gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. They were an average family, the parents excelling in terms of parenting. Their young child, Wallace Bogdan, was precious to the parents, Lisa and Aligarh Bogdan who always dreamed of having children of their own. Throughout the initial days of Wallace’s birth, his parents would gladly show their baby to their friends and family, evidently proud of their child. They were happy people, the parents showing off their beautiful child whenever possible. However, worries arrived in handfuls when young Wallace became sick. It was abrupt and unexpected, the parents promptly packing their child up to take him to the doctor. When they arrived, the doctor extensively tests the child before a smile crawled onto his lips. He proclaimed the boy was overloaded on magic and stated his parents needed to take him to live among the fae. The explanation was lengthy, the doctor providing the young parents with directions as he informed them of the changes he would undergo. Their son was destined to transform into a faekin because of his magic overload. Reluctantly, the parents listened to the doctor’s words but remained concerned over their child’s well-being while with the fae. Naturally, the pair desired only the best for their child, thus they hesitantly entered the forest, discovering the fae and pleading for them to help their young child. They slowly grabbed the bundled up child from the mother, hastily agreeing to help the struggling baby. Softly, they stated they would be required to keep the young child for several days, going lengths to request Wallace’s parents to leave the area. They argued for an extensive amount of time, his frightened young parents not wanting to leave their child alone for even a second. Alas, they fearfully gave way, Wallace’s health was more important than and the doctor promise the problem would be solved, thus they left. Immensely scared for their child, the parents returned, upset with the decisions forced onto them. Meanwhile, Wallace was already thriving among the fae, the child’s excessive magical energy being properly handled as they connected with the child. Those crazed memories where he explored the forest alongside those marvellous and stunning people who assisted with the unlikely illness. Eventually, he was inducted into the fae in the infamous ceremony, ultimately cleansing the young boy of sickness and transforming him into a faekin. They kept the child for some additional days, giving him some lessons in his abilities before taking him to the meeting place to be returned to his parents. A broad smiled touched his face that day as one of the faes led the young boy through the trees and to the quiet dirt road. There, his parents stood, worrisome expressions and eyes searching desperately for their child until they saw him through the trees. Haste graced their steps as they rushed to Wallace, his father wrapping arms around him to embrace him tightly while his mother hugged their energetic baby boy. Constant concerns transitioned to endless thanks for rescuing their child. Promptly, they took Wallace home and their family returned to normal. Throughout those youthful years, the young boy was happily spending years with his family, growing close to his parents, and later his uncle Horris. Undoubtedly, uncle Horris was the greatest uncle in Wallace’s eyes, the older gentleman owning a farm with animals and large fields of wheat and various smaller gardens of other crops maintained by aunt Athena. They maintained these crops to cut food expenses. Large tractors were everywhere, specially designed to be solar-powered opposed to using emissions. Peculiarly, plants interested Wallace more than the animals, the young man frequently using his plant manipulation to gleefully play with the crops. He was capable, his family was impressed by the young boy’s plant manipulation. They encouraged him despite the mischief his powers could cause. From a young age, he knew the warm embrace of his family’s pride, motivating him to excel in his abilities. Plant manipulation was always his greatest accomplishment. When school began, Wallace was curious, but the opportunity to impress his parents made him leap at the chance. It was an excellent experience, Wallace making a variety of friends and proceeding to please his parents with his capabilities through intense studying. Life was normal, fantastic and brilliant as Wallace grew older and happier. He had his share of discoveries throughout his years, but he mostly discovered his love of farm life. There were weekends where he pleaded he could spend time with uncle Horris. As he entered his teenage years, Horris hired the young boy as a farmhand, much to his enjoyment. He proved to be incredibly smart, especially in understanding mechanics and machines. Life was an endless paradise, but as all stories go, disaster befell onto Wallace’s life. On a cool summer evening after his work as a farmhand, the sounds of shattered glass echoed through the quaint home of Lisa and Aligarh. The family of three were grabbed, tied up by sadistic criminals which were common for Lorsette. Constantly, Wallace attempted to repress those memories, but it was impossible. For hours they were tortured, his parents killed before his eyes through malicious stabbing and dismemberment. They cruelly kept Wallace alive throughout the horror show, forcing their son to watch and plea for his parents’ lives and later for their corpses to not be tampered with. When the dismemberment began, the young man vomited, his sixteen-year-old unable to handle the gory scene occurring before his eyes. Laughter filled his killers, the group soon pinning him with plans on dismembering Wallace while he breathed. They began with his arms, but before they could continue, police quietly entered the room and pointed their guns. That evening, Wallace was taken to hospital and his parents were declared dead at the scene. Immediately, the aunt and uncle were contacted, rushing to the hospital to hear the horrible news. Cursed weapons were used to claim their lives, resulted in the young man’s amputated limbs being a permanent curse. Waking a slow experience, Wallace’s mind changing radically from the abhorrent experience. Sorrowful, angry and aloof, the young man changed, unable to release the anguish from the problem. As he recovered, custody was hastily placed in the capable hands of aunt Athena and Uncle Horris. When he moved to live on the farm, the problems related to trauma remained evident. He had flashbacks, abruptly panicking when something triggered memories. Days of mental evaluation revealed the painful truth, Wallace being diagnosed with PTSD and prescribed medication to assist with recovery. People were informed of the development, things entering a stage of enforced calmness around the house. Eventually, uncle Horris assisted his nephew the best way he knew. Days were spent curled up in his room before his uncle opened the door and invited him to see the baby pigs. Farm life became Wallace’s coping mechanism, a special soother which allowed him to handle the mental burden. Alas, the young man feared he would be unable to help because he lacked arms, thus he remained melancholic, but slowly his coping improved. Plants, the source of his parents’ pride began getting manipulated, allowing Wallace to grab items and operate as though he had arms. Therapy and family helped recover the mental damage while plants assisted with the physical difficulties because of his condition. Thoughts began churning as his mental condition improved slightly over the months, an entire day spent inside his uncle’s work shed resulting in many blueprints being created. When uncle Horris checked on him, Wallace was finally able to show him the possibilities of mechanical arms which fed off of magic. The prideful smile on his uncle’s face as he requested to assist with the project, which Wallace hesitantly agreed. Together, they worked on creating the first pair. Trail and error became their method of constructing these arms. Efforts were made to finish these creations before school began for Wallace’s final year, and eventually, they succeeded. Stares were plenty when he returned to school, the staff were informed of the sensitive situation to assist with gradual recovery. Since his return, the sorrowful and aloof air hung thick around Wallace, some people attempting to connect with the young man, but it proved difficult. A lonesomeness began surrounding him whenever he was at school. Grades were focused on, choices limited as the faekin wished to avoid prying into his dark world. Graduation was uneventful, Wallace requesting a quiet supper opposed to the lavish prom promised to most graduates. Since graduation, he focused on assisting his uncle and aunt, his trust issues creating anxiety of meeting new people. Recovery remained a difficulty in his life, Wallace’s doctor believing his PTSD could potentially be chronic, thus he concerns himself with farm work to cope with his mental problems. misc - Likes: Farming, plants, building, engineering, solar power, alternative energy sources, animals, mixed drinks, sleeveless clothes, exercise, hard work, sports, hiking, exploring, home-cooked meals, driving, his uncle, peaceful nights, magic-based energy sources, tractors - Dislikes: Gory movies, disturbing topics, loud noises, zippers, winter, frigid conditions, sweets, sickness, laziness, boring days, nightmares, flashbacks, trauma, getting upset, crying, his paranoia, sleeping, pollution, smoke, coddling, complaining - Fears: Flashbacks, fighting, helplessness, dismemberment, death, somebody breaking in, being attacked - He rarely allows people to call him Wallace and instead prefers to be referred to as Wally.
