Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Silence still loomed over the city as the sun still had yet to creep over the horizon. Only dimly lit by the dull yellow glow of the streetlights. Roughly around three in the morning to be more precise. As everyone slept, awaiting the arrival of the new day. Yet in his small apartment Dane found his sleep anything but pleasant. As he tossed and turned through the night. Going from feeling too hot, to too cold. Cold sweats, shaking, the whole nine yards. He wanted to think he had perhaps gotten a cold, or maybe eaten something foul. Yet he hadn't felt sick in ages, at least not truly sick like he had as a young man. Instead it was a different sickness, one that came along with his condition. And yet he had ignored it for some time it had finally begun to eat away at him. His stomach letting out a deep rumble, rousing him from his sleep.
He could feel his body shuttering slightly as he leaned up from his bed. Hands reaching up to rub at his pounding temples. And after rubbing the sleep out of his eyes he proceeded toward the bathroom. Flicking on the light and taking care of a few things before trying to make his way back to sleep. Yet on the way out he caught a glimpse of something in the mirror. Peach fuzz to be more exact. As there were slight silver hairs beging to form around his jawline. Upon noticing it he quickly rushed to the mirror to examine more closely. Only to be rather upset that he was in fact not hallucinating. "Shit..." He muttered to himself. Knowing he couldn't put it off any longer. Almost immediately he stormed out of the bathroom and began hastily throwing on clothes. Grabbing his belongings and a small tin of mints.
As he started making his way out of the building he pulled out his phone. Calling up a taxi to come pick him up as quickly as possible. Luckily however it was early and it didn't take long for the car to arrive. As he hopped in the back he tossed a wad of cash into the front seat, slumping up against the leather as he felt a headache coming on. "Calico forest." He said with a grunt. "Why you hea-" "Just drive ok." Dane said, interrupting the driver. And causing the rest of their drive to resume in silence. Much to Dane's preference. And though it took some time to get out of the city the sun had still yet to rise. The glow of the street lights slowly becoming replaced by the pale shine from the moon. Now only around four in the morning as they arrived at a small campground. "This is fine.." Dane said as he stepped out of the vehicle. Ignoring the odd stare from the driver wondering why he didn't even bring a tent. Yet the man paid it no mind, having already been paid he drove off.
Now staring out at the expanse of trees Dane felt himself becoming a little hot under the collar. His body starting to react, as he had finally decided to give into his urges. He began breathing heavily as he felt his muscles start to shift on their own accord, patches of hair begining to form on his knuckles. And then his vision seemed to haze out, becoming a white fog.
When he finally began to come to his eyes cracked open. His vision blurred by soft flecks of light coming through the canopy. He let out a soft groan as he sat up, wondering how long he had been out. Only for one of his hands to plant itself into something warm. Turning his head he noticed the source of the sensation. As there was a deer laying there next to him. It's throat torn and body mauled. Not only that but he was absolutely drenched in the things blood, and had managed to loose his shirt somehow. "Shit!" He said to himself as he glanced around the clearing he was laying in. Wondering where he was and how he was going to get back.

"um, dude," june said. "are you cool? you need water?" [break][break] record scratch.rewind. moments before, june had been happily traipsing through the forest for her science project, promising her parents that she wouldn't take too long before she came home, observing the local species of wildlife in calico forest, which, in her opinion, was like, the lamest name ever. it was still bright enough outside that her parents felt marginally assured, and try as they might, her parents couldn't really keep june cooped up if she tried. she could teleport. it was a lost cause from the beginning. [break][break] so she had been cheerfully walking around the forest, noting all her observations down in a notebook while she was only half-paying attention, until she realized that the thicket of trees was thickening and she had fallen off the path, and that if she kept on going on this way, she would probably get lost. obviously, it was at that point that she went and decided to turn back. the only problem was - she didn't know which way back was, not exactly, and she didn't want to teleport unless she had to, so she decided to wander around like a little red riding hood wannabe. [break][break] imagine her surprise when she had stumbled across what looked like two matching corpses - one of a deer, and one of a man. the vaguely humanoid shape was already alert (to some extent), if drenched in a lot of red, and june momentarily sympathized with him before she considered that it was perhaps his fault that he woke up in the forest (and had he killed that deer?) and there was always the possibility that he was a terrible, horrible ax murderer and that there was really no need to feel bad for him at all. but june's parents had raised her right (mostly, except for her unfortunate habit of losing things and taking terrible care of her belongings), and thus she found herself hovering over the guy on the forest floor rather than running and screaming in the other direction, as any sane person might have done. [break][break] "are you hurt?" june said in her best, most businesslike voice, and then added on as an afterthought: "also, if you sound like GHWAHHGWA EVIL WILL BEFALL ON YOUR FAMILY and have a darth-vader-esque voice, i'd prefer it if you just nodded or shook your head, because i'm not into jumpscares. also, i've still got that water. and, uh, bandaids. i don't think that'll help the, um, you know, the poor deer over there, but you could have one if you wanted."
Dazed was probably the simplest of words to describe Dane's current state. His head pounding like he had downed an entire bottle of whiskey. His body aching like he had run a marathon. And his vision was still blurred both from sleep, as well as from blood that had slowly begun to drop over his brow. He couldn't imagine the mess he probably looked. Covered in bits of mud, leaves, and the freshly spilled crimson. He actually felt embarrassed. But relieved at the same time. After all his urges had to be satiated somehow. And he would much rather prefer it being as far away from the city as possible. Not only for the likely hood that someone may find him. But the chance that he may have found someone himself. And the body he was laying next to could have been much different.
He reached up with one arm in a futile attempt to wipe his eyes clean. Only smearing the grime more in the process. Yet as he was Midway through the process something caught his attention rather abruptly. A voice to be more precise, and a female one at that. He let out a confused groan as he felt like he must be going crazy. After all he was God knows where in the middle of the woods. And running into anyone seemed just about as likely as well... Waking up next to a dead deer. As he lowered his arm he noticed a blurry figure before him. Catching him rather by suprise, yet at least confirming he wasn't hearing things. And as things came into focus so too did her features. Though before he could really take note of her appearance he found himself being assaulted by an overwhelming scent. His nose being rather sensitive, he could almost swear he was standing in an orchard. His face seemed to scrunch up slightly as it wafted toward him. Slapping the sleep out of him rather effectively. "F..fine." He said with a groggy voice, his teeth still slightly stained from his recent kill. "I'm fine."
As he inspected the woman a few things stood out. Firstly being that she wasn't a woman at all, but seemed much younger. The second being that she seemed almost unfazed by the carcass next to him. Or the obscene amount of blood. Actually going as far as to offer him help, as limited as it was. "Water please.." He said with a soft nod. Wondering why she was so willing to offer him a hand. His mind racing to the other lycan he had met, and how he too wanted to help. However Dane knew he wouldn't be able to figure out so easily. Not with the overwhelming scent of peaches around her.

"cool, cool," june said, and placed her waterbottle on the ground next to him a lot more gingerly than the casual tone of her voice would imply. it was a bit concerning, actually, to give it away - her waterbottle this time 'round was a pure, pristine white, and the idea of this guy getting it dirty (even if it could be easily washed away!) made her hesitate for a moment. but, well, whatever! people had to do what they had to do for the greater good! "drink up, my dude." [break][break] also, was that blood on his teeth? june frowned. her knee-jerk reflex was to ask him if he was injured, and offer to heal him, but that...was a bit disturbing. was it from the deer? was there a protocol for this? would it be alright if she just, like, phoned her parents and was like, mom, dad, uh, i found this guy in the forest, not sure if he's evil or not, but what should i do? i mean, i gave him water, so besides that. also i think he killled a deer. "soooo," she said, drawing the word out. "could i ask, like, what're you doing here?" [break][break] she paused. "or is that, like, super invasive, and i'm not cool enough to ask that of you?" june inquired. "because, like, i'm chill with being kept in the dark if it's for my safety r whatever, but the deer's kinda. you know? poor guy." she stopped again, scrutnizing the carcass. "is it a guy?" [break][break] "and you know!" june said, a bit more loudly than she usually would've, in an attempt to reassure both her and the rando: "if you're hurt! i'll help patch you up! but you better not try anything suspicious, because that's pushing the whole i'm-a-villain-who-pretends-to-be-in-need-of-help gimmick a bit too far. that's an outdated trope, anyway!" and so, saying that, she bent down and offered her hand to the other. "want some help getting up?"
With the soft thump at his side Dane turned to look at the water bottle now resting in the underbrush next to him. He let out a soft sigh of relief. Actually thankful that she was willing to aid him, even in his current state. "Thank you, very much." He said as he twisted open the top. And proceeded to almost drown himself as he quickly tried to down several large mouthfuls as fast as possible. Though he did stop after a moment. Partaly due to not wanting to finish off all of the girls water. And also because she had begun to speak up again, asking the rather obvious question of why he was here. "Well you se-" He began to say, only to be swiftly interrupted by the girl as she continued to berate him with questions. "It's ju-... I don't re-.."
Not able to get a word in Dane found himself becoming slightly frustrated. A headache slowly forming from the constant questions. As well as his exhausting night. And as the girl continued to chatter he found one hand rising toward his face and pinching at the bridge of his nose. "COULD YOU PLEASE SHUT IT FOR JUST A MINUTE?!" He said sternly to the girl. Not really wanting to scare her, but also clearly not in the mood to be assaulted with the constant dialogue. "Jeez... I'm sorry and all, but I had a really long night. I appreciate the water, but all of.. this." He said waving his free hand in her general direction. "Is not really helping right now."
He let out a rather long sigh. Giving only a brief pause to compose himself. Or at least as best he could given his current situation. "Besides. Shouldn't I be asking you what you're doing out here? Middle of the woods doesn't really seem like somewhere for a young girl like you to just be walking around." He said, adjusting himself into a kneeling position. Only to come face to finger with the girls hand as she offered him help. He let out another sigh, however this time it was much more tame than before. As he actually found it slightly endearing that the girl continued trying to offer aid. "Thanks... Again." He said, gently taking her hand and standing up fully.
