Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Fletcher shrugged his shoulders instead of commenting further. "No preference." He answered in return, somewhat having a preference but he didn't want to be trouble on Jean. He wanted something they'd both eat. He laughed at Jean's comment about having cooties. "As if...." He answered, teasing him back. Well maybe.... But that wasn't my reason for saying it. He was pulled from his thoughts to laugh more. "Are you sure, positive?" He teased him in return, "No, I just don't want to have a whole pizza if I can help it." He side glanced, knowing he didn't need to eat but was choosing to do so, not that Jean would know. When the server came, he gave the order, only leaving Jean to select his drink, since he had already put his own in. Once the server had them, he'd hand his menu over before leaning back in the seat. "Goddddddd it feels like forever since you last treated me.... I'm going to have to turn this into a habit." He teased, not serious since he didn't eat, but Jean didn't need to know that, with any luck, he'd believe him.
Jean chuckled softly as they continued talking about cooties.”i was just saying, but you do change your mind rather quickly. One second yours hands are all over me and the next you don’t want me touching anything near you.”shaking his head.”I wasn't planning on eating a whole pizza by myself. Please don’t get any funny ideas and try to force feed me. I mean i’ll let you feed me, but don’t feed me too much.”jean told him with a grin.”you make it sound like you have no self control, and don’t try to deny it. You’re so impulsive.”
The server had returned to take their order and jean had decided on a drink. The server left the once more only to return a few seconds later with the strawberry lemonade jean had decided on. He took a sip before sliding it over towards fletcher.”it’s really good, you wanna try it?”
Jean rolls his eyes.”really we haven’t seen each other in how many years and that’s what you missed the most. that's all you thought about, the fact that i hadn’t spoil you in all that time.”he was obviously teasing. He was glad that despite their rough re-encounter they were working things out. He never would have imagined they would be sitting here laughing and joking. It was almost hard to believe. He rested his head on his palm as he looked a fletcher.”why did you change your mind? You were so eager to leave when we first saw each other.”he asked him serious look on his face. Maybe he should of waited to ask. He didn’t want to ruin the mood.”never mind, tell me what else you’ve been up to besides joining a different gang.”jean asked with a smile.
Fletcher shrugged his shoulders when Jean said he changes his mind rather quickly. It wasn't a lie but he didn't want to make the effort in countering. He chuckled when Jean said that he didn't plan to eat a whole pizza by himself. "Awww.... well I suppose we could order a smaller pizza so that I have the pleasure of seeing you eat a whole one anyway." He teased, thinking there wouldn't be any harm, even though he still planned on having only a few pieces of pizza. "I changed my mind, pizza is going to remain the ususal size." He answered, smug grin on his face, though for the sake of Jean not having to eat it all by himself, he decided he would eat more than his original thought. When the server came back with their drinks, he took a sip of his water, pausing when Jean slid his own drink over, asking if he would like to try it. A slow smile formed on his lips, slowly taking the glass in his hands, before trying the strawberry lemonade. He would then slide it back over to Jean.
"It is good." He answered, though since he got his water, he didn't want to request a new drink. He chuckled, not commenting, figuring it would be easiest to tease Jean in the long run. He went silent when Jean made his comment, though he was joking, he wasn't prepared to answer the question. He found himself grateful when Jean had changed his mind, only to flinch when asked what he had been up to. "Not much." He lied, unable to bring himself to admit that he had come back alive but Jean had already left. "I mean joining a new gang is the only thing...." He shrugged his shoulders, trying to dodge the subject so that he wouldn't have to admit that he was holding back on some information. "Everybody went their separate ways, what else is there to say?" He asked, drinking his water so that he'd have an excuse to go silent.
he smiled softly and shrugged."whatever you want. yeah, that's not going to happen. you have to have pizza too."he rolled his eyes when not even a second later fletcher stated he was changing his mind."knew that wasn't going to last long."he shook his head as fletcher yet again changed his mind."why am i not surprised."
eventually their meal was ordered and jean had offered fletcher a sip of his drink."i wasn't to sure at first, but you can't go wrong with strawberries."now that they could actually have a conversation jean was going to ask about things that had been bugging him.
could you blame him for being curious as to what his gang did after he had left. the guilt was still there, but fletcher seemed to be doing alright for himself. he sighed softly before leaning back in his seat."you didn't keep in touch with the others?"he asked curiously.
Fletcher just smirked when Jean told him that it wasn't going to happen and how he needed to eat some pizza to. "You'd get bored without my indecisiveness." He answered, teasing him some more because Jean had it coming. After their server had come for the order, he had tried Jean's drink. "Is that so?" He asked, chuckling as he looked back at him. He swallowed his water when Jean asked his question. "Everybody quit, why would we remain in touch? I mean that isn't to say some didn't? But I wouldn't know because I haven't." He answered, shrugging his shoulders again. I really don't want to talk about the past here... He thought to himself, drinking more water as he debated on how he could answer him back. "You could always search for them and ask." He suggested, not really caring what Jean did so long as he didn't leave again. He did after all come back in his life after all.
Jean took a sip of his lemonade as they continued to talk. Chuckling softly at fletcher’s words.”that’s very true. I’m never bored when i’m with you.”a smirk appearing on his face. He knew there was a time and a place to ask these sorts of questions, but he couldn’t help that he was curious. It was pretty clear that fletcher did not want to talk about this. Maybe it’s because wanted to go back and change everything that happened. Perhaps he could of been a better leader. He stayed silent as fletcher spoke, sipping at his lemonade now and again.
There were truth in his words. Why would or should they of kept in touch. He just assumed they were more than friends, a sort of dysfunctional type of family that looked out for one another. Though perhaps it was his fault that it had fallen apart. Not that he wanted to say that he was the glue that kept them together. He didn’t. Had he actually been capable of that perhaps nothing would of gone wrong that night.
He sighed softly as he tried to think of something decent to say. What could he say? He honestly didn’t come back to gather the group together again. He was past trying to pick up those broken pieces. He finally got fletcher to actually want to talk to him. Dexter was clearly out of the question. Perhaps it was best if he just leave things alone.’I wouldn't want to make you jealous. So I won't look for anyone else.”
It wasn’t too long after that their food arrived. He passed him a plate that the server had brought before hand.”you first.”
Fletcher chuckled when Jean admitted that he'd never get bored when around him before blushing slightly. "Your serious?" He asked, thinking Jean might have just been pulling his leg or something. How am I supposed to get him back? He thought to himself, not used to such things. The conversation had been asked about keeping in touch with the others, though he had an idea of their whereabouts, he made an effort to avoid them. They had after all left him alone after all. "Oh what ever...." He mumbled, side glancing, not ready to admit the truth about his feelings. "That is your choice." He answered, looking back towards Jean. Though he couldn't help but feel somewhat happier that Jean had made the comment about not searching for the others because he didn't want to make him jealous. The server had returned with their food and some plates, he set his drink down, having finished it. "More water, please." He'd answer before a plate was handed towards him, having been told to go first. "What is the matter, scared I'd make you eat it all by yourself?" He teased, grabbing the plate and two slices before setting in front of himself.
jean looked at fletcher and chuckled."me serious? never, but you're doubting me now? can't say i get pinned on the sidewalk all the time, now can i?"he catch the flush on his cheeks, only making him grin in victory. though he wasn't lying. he had fun teasing everyone, but fletcher's reactions were always great. not to mention the times that fletcher would pay him back.
he simply nodded at his words. if it was meant to happen they would simply cross paths. it was rather funny to believe in the universe bringing people together so he simply chalked it up to mere coincidence. after all it was how he had bumped into dexter and fletcher. he hadn't sought them out. yes, he had tried to look for dexter in the crowds, but he didn't go out of his way to show up in the last places he remembered seeing dexter at. it was best if he just forgot about it.
he told fletcher to go ahead and grab pizza first. he smiled and shook his head."what? can't i be polite?"he said before grabbing a slice of his own. he waited for it to cool before taking a bite."eat. you look thinner than i remember."
Fletcher side glanced when Jean commented back to him, somewhat flustered at the idea of Jean being serious because he thought he was joking earlier. They may have had good times in the past but it seemed that Jean might have really been trying to reconnect with him, so far as a friend since he couldn't imagine them going back to how they were prior to the gang parting ways. Though that wouldn't mean he wouldn't secretly harbor feelings towards him, but Jean didn't need to know that. He had taken two slices of pizza, waiting for his water to be brought back. It wasn't like Jean had started eating just yet, first waiting for it to cool before taking a bite. He had so happened to receive a newly filled glass of water when Jean had encouraged him to eat. Having taken a sip, he found himself choking on it slightly when Jean pointed out how he looked thinner than he had remembered. Once the water had been swallowed he found himself thinking, Does he know I died? That is impossible, there is no way he'd figure it out.... Do I really look thinner? He looked at himself, struggling to notice, however since he had died it wouldn't surprise him if he had in fact lost weight.
jean shook his head as fletcher coughed."slowly down."he said looking at him making sure it wasn't anything serious but water going down the wrong pipe."should i cut up your pizza and feed you? can't have you choking on anything else."he told him with a playful smile, he finally took a bite of his own pizza, once he was sure fletcher would be alright eating on his own. teasing the boy just made his day a little brighter.
though that wasn’t to say that fletcher couldn’t get jean back. he had to admit, it took a lot to make jean embarrassed and did he accomplish that today. he was definitely happier with his encounter. sure things hadn’t gone as he had expected, but that just made them more interesting. he continued to eat quietly, wondering what they could talk about. though the silence wasn’t too bad either. he finished his first piece and placed another on his plate. he pushed the tray closer to fletcher."here have some more."he told him with a smile.
it seemed like all fletcher needed was time. time to come to terms with the fact that jean had returned. perhaps if he did end up finding the others, well more like bumping into them. after all he had told fletcher jokingly that he wasn't going to look for them. the more he thought on it, the more it made sense. their anger or whatever they were feelings towards him were completely justified. what did he hoped to accomplish with finding them? just letting them know that he was back. sooner or later they would find out.
Fletcher didn't say anything when Jean had told him to slow down. He was too busy trying to cease the coughing and yet in the back of his mind he was focused on wondering if Jean had figured out if he really was thinner or not. It wouldn't have come as a surprise since he didn't have to eat anymore but still, he was hoping for that to remain a secret even if it wasn't much longer. Once the coughing came to an end, he took in small breaths. "Not funny." He mumbled, looking back towards Jean, attempting to fake a smile. The tray had been pushed towards him. "Now now, I still have two slices to finish still...." He answered, having eaten a little bit of the first and the second was still untouched.
Slowly he would reach out to pick up the slice to resume eating it. As much as he wanted to ask Jean for his reasoning for believing him to appear thinner, he didn't dare open up the conversation of it possibly being truth or not, knowing Jean might be kidding and had failed to possibly notice. Either way, he hoped to find out more of Jean's thoughts without straight up asking him about it. It wasn't long before the first slice was finished and he was reaching out for the second one that remained on his plate.
“i wasn’t joking.”jean said with a smile before taking a bite of his pizza.or perhaps he was, but he was serious. he would feed fletcher if he wanted him to. he had no problem doing it. though would that embarrass fletcher? then he’d have even more reason to do it. unless the crust was stuffed with cheese, jean wouldn’t eat the crust. he was working on his second piece as they ate in silence. he wondered if fletcher was going to let him go or if he had other things planned for them.
he had to admit, he found his tendency to be clingy was cute. why couldn’t he have been like this when they had first bumped into each other at the library. he knew things wouldn’t go back to the way there were before. that was fine, he would do whatever it took to regain fletcher’s trust. he just couldn’t help, but fall back into the same routine. it was like they were picking up where they had left off. well, if that incident hadn’t occurred, everything would have been fine. why were his thoughts still stuck in the past. he was getting a chance to start over. he couldn’t help, but wonder how he was going to mess this up.
Fletcher rolled his eyes when Jean claimed he wasn't joking, seeing as he planned to finish his slices he was just being slow is all. "I'll take a rain check." He answered after a moment, deciding if Jean was planning on feeding him, it should happen another time. As soon as his first slice was finished, he picked up the other one to start eating it. He may have been slow but he was determined as ever to avoid being fed, just this time though. The idea of Jean feeding him was strange but somewhat sounded pleasing, not that Jean needed to know his thoughts about it. "Assuming you can wait that long." He teased, talking about the comment from earlier, having told Jean he'd take a rain check, somewhat curious on what exactly Jean planned on doing now. I'm still wondering if he believes I look thinner or if he just made the comment to tease me. He thought to himself, watching Jean while he eat his slice.
jean took another bite before chuckling softly. despite him saying it wasn’t a joke, jean was clearly just messing around. he wanted to see how far this little joke would go. he really had no intention on feeding fletcher if he didn’t want him to. besides the only time jean would really consider it was if he wanted fletcher to try something. he finished off his current piece and grabbed another slice. he was hungrier than he had thought.
he rolled his eyes at fletcher’s next comment.”don’t worry about me, i can wait. the real question is can you?”no matter what they seemed to talk about they somehow always managed to tease each other. not to say that he couldn’t have a serious conversation now and again. it was certainly not something jean was known for. it was quiet for a few minutes as they each continued to eat. he titled his head to the side as he looked at fletcher questioningly.”what?”
Fletcher rolled his eyes when he heard Jean chuckle, still unsure on if he was being serious or joking around. He had no problem with Jean doing it in the near future, in fact it sounded like it would be fun, just not today. He was in the middle of eating his second piece when he watched Jean reaching for another slice of pizza. "I doubt you can." He countered, refusing to answer on if he could wait or not. His thoughts told him that he'd be able to wait, but in the past he did have his moments of not being all that patient. He finished his slice and reached for a third one. He glanced away, having been staring at Jean. "Nothing...." He mumbled, not wanting to admit his thoughts to him.
