Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

he had an unexpected visitor at the office today. like the person he was, instead of embarrassing himself in front of his co-workers, and avoid an argument. he did the next best thing. he left without saying a word. well, he let someone know he would be out of the office. though he didn't exactly specify where he was going.
for whatever reason he had ended up in the library. he couldn't remember the last time he had been here. then again, he was certain he hadn't set foot in this place till now. not that he didn't enjoy reading. he just never found the time to make his way down here. he figured now was as good a time as any.
plus he needed to kill sometime. heading to the bar at this hour wasn't wise. besides he wasn't the type to drink while on the clock. the bar probably wasn't even open at this hour. well, it was lunch time, but again he didn't require a drink at the moment. had he stayed back in the office he might of needed one. he took of his sunglasses while he walked inside. taking a quick glance to see who was all inside. for the most part there were a couple people sitting at computers or staring at books. they all seemed engrossed in whatever they were doing. all he wanted now was a bit of quiet. thankfully he hadn't left the office empty handed. he had brought his laptop. if anything he would get some work done before making sure it was safe to head back.
Nakia had gone into the library to hide after one of her missions had gone wrong. She had been attacking the TRS but fled shortly after the Terrors become overwhelmed with the hunters that were being attacked. Thankfully nobody would think a sniper had gone into the library, of course that meant that she was surrounded by worthless innocent people that she couldn't care less about but because they were compared to little bugs, they were also a waste of time and space in her opinion. Thoughts crossed her mind as she sat on the floor, pondering in her thoughts as she debated on her next course of action. Slowly she had started adjusting so that she could stand up from the floor, having decided that it was time to move spots. It wasn't like she enjoyed sitting on the floor, it was the fact earlier, when she had fled in here, everybody had taken all of the spots that would usually be available and now that it was lunch time, she was hoping they left so that she could have one all to herself.
To her disappointment, there were still plenty of people in the library and only one spot had opened up. She hadn't thought about anybody else thinking of sitting here, else she might have changed her mind about taking a seat at this table in the first place. She slid into the seat, becoming comfortable in it before realizing Elliott had planned to take the table all for himself. Of course since she got here first she didn't plan on giving it up that easily, meaning if one wanted it, they'd be forced to share.
When was the last time he had been here? He had thought the library had been a bit bigger. He certainly didn’t think that all the tables would be taken. He frowned as he moved past crowded tables. Surely there had to be one that wasn’t being used. Didn’t people have jobs? What were they all doing here at the same time. At last he seemed like he was running out of options till he spotted an empty table in the far back corner. It was perfect being that it was empty and far away from all the noise. Thankfully he didn’t see anyone’s stuff on it, meaning that it was clear for his to take. He had plenty of paperwork to work on and he would clearly need the whole space.
It seemed like someone else wanted that table as well. He thought this area had been free of people. Where had they come from? They were not here a minute ago where they? He sighed as he decided whether or not to continue to look for another or to just sit on the other side. The table was pretty decent, four chairs in total. Enough space between them. He cleared his throat as he moved to the opposite chair and took a seat. Without even looking at her. He started to get his computer out of his bag and setting it on the table.
He hadn’t seen her with a book or anything else. He hoped that she wasn’t going to be too noisy. As his computer booted up he reached back into his bag for the documents he needed to work on.
Nakia heard Elliott sigh, but made no comment. It would be his choice if he was determined to have this table or not, but she wouldn't be leaving willingly. She listened as he cleared his throat before moving to sit on the other side of the table. There were no words, as he got his computer out of his bag and she remained in her thoughts on her next choice of action. Though it was hard to ignore Elliott when he had suddenly started spreading his documents on the table. Oh, he wants to play that game.... I see how it is. She thought to herself, slowly moving her arms onto the table so that she could take her corner of it. If he wants the whole table, he is going to have to move me. She thought to herself as she tried to resume her thought process from only a few minutes prior.
It was difficult, not only was he sitting at her table, he was handsome too. She wasn't sure where such thoughts had come from, but what ever the reason, he was proving to be a distraction from her thoughts and she wasn't okay with this. Nobody got away with interrupting her and getting away with it. "Hey.... tone down the distraction." She whispered, keeping it vague on what exactly he had done to her.
he ignored her as he continued to work. how inconsiderate she was to take a whole table to herself. why couldn't she just find a seat elsewhere and leave the tables for people that actually had some important work to complete. it's not like she was doing anything important. she didn't even have a book or any other reading material. not that he had been paying close attention to her, but he could be wrong.
he continued typing away only stopping when he would looking through a few documents. it was rather tedious, but it had to be done. he almost wished he had brought along headphones to block out some of the noise. he would definitely concentrate much better when he had classical music playing in the background.
he frowned and stopped typing mid sentence. he had picked up on her comment and had debated asking what that was all about. though if he did that, that would only initiated even more words to be had. though it bugged him and he honestly hoped her words were not directed at him."excuse me?"he said without looking up from his computer screen, he began to type after a few minutes.
Nakia had noticed Elliott ignoring her, she decided to remain quiet as one might say, allowed it to slide this time. Of course she took this time to go deep in her thoughts, or at the very least it had been her goal until his typing had rudely interrupted her, in which case she whispered to him. It was somewhat of a surprise that he had bothered pausing his typing after she had made the comment to him. Ohhhh, he wasn't sure what I'm talking about? She thought to herself before a small smirk appeared on her face as the thought of having the pleasure to show Elliott exactly what she was talking about. Instead of answering his question, she adjusted in her seat in somewhat of a mimic manner as she rested her wrists against the table before appearing to type without any form of keyboard.
Her fingers tapped against the table top somewhat hard, as means of making a tapping noise as she showed Elliott exactly what she was talking about. Of course he wasn't typing that loudly, but she could and would argue his typing to still be a distraction, so it was her pleasure to show Elliott just as much of a distraction. "This." She whispered, before pausing to look back at him. What will you do now?
had he not been so distracted by the work he had to do, perhaps he would have paid closer attention to her appearance. it wasn’t till he stopped his typing and looked up did he really take notice of her. clearly she was one to stand out, but as much as he wanted to stare elliott had manners. his parents managed to teach him something decent. you only judge others when they are nowhere near you. countless times had his mother lied to peoples faces, only to turn around and talk bad about them as soon as they left. though that wasn’t why he was staring at her. she was clearly not human and despite becoming a vampire, elliott still had limited personal experience with other creatures that were found here. not that he went out of his way to meet them. he was far too busy with his work.
he watched as she positioned herself in an upright manner and began to move her fingers as he had been doing. he sat there trying to figure what he should do or say. really was she criticizing him over how loudly he had been typing? at least he was making better use of the space. he had no time to bicker with her. perhaps leaving the office wasn’t the best choice. it seemed like ignoring her isn't working. she clearly couldn’t take a hint.
he sighed as he waited for her to finish.”are you done? i didn’t know i was interrupted something important.”he told her with an eye roll. “why am i being lectured by a girl that’s clearly dressed for halloween?”he said with a bored expression.”listen i don’t have time to keep you entertained. i have plenty of work to do. if the sound of my typing is bother you, you could simply move.”he told her making eye contact for a few seconds before returning to his work, the typing soon commencing once more.
Nakia wasn't sure why but she couldn't help but feel somewhat pleased that he had paused his typing to look at her. It took a lot of effort to shove those unnecessary feelings to the back of her mind, making it easier to not react to them. She had mimicked his typing, despite no laptop, no keyboard, only requiring a table beneath her fingers. When she finished she couldn't help but feel somewhat amused that he had sighed before asking if she were finished as if confirming for it to be so. That eye roll of his, it was difficult to not smirk at the fact that she must have annoyed Elliott. Oh well. That smirk slowly fell when he made his comment about her appearance before it widened slightly. "At least I made the effort." She lied, "What exactly are you supposed to be? Annoying typing boy?" She mocked, trying to get on his nerves farther since his latest comment sounded exactly like that to her.
It wasn't like she wanted Elliott to leave, or at least she didn't think so? She just had trouble expression herself in such a manner, or more like refused to do so. "I could say the same thing to you." She added, adjusting in her seat she moved to kick her feet up on the chair right next to him, not at all bothered at the idea of possibly taking up some possible space, hoping it had interrupted his typing, since he clearly seemed determined to stay focused.
this girl was serious. that's probably what annoyed him the most. how inconsiderate she was being. really, how could one be so entitled. clearly she wasn't doing anything, but staring off into space or thinking of who knows what. in his eyes she wasn't doing anything productive. this place should be for people that want to read or have a nice quiet space to work.
he wasn't amused."annoying typing boy. really? how original. better question yet, is what are you suppose to be? besides sarcastic and witty?"his typing had once again stopped. he couldn't concentrate on the task at hand, not when she was being so rude and distracting.
he chuckled slightly, though it was more out of annoyance more than actual humor."not going to happen princess."he felt the chair next to him move and he frowned as he noticed she was getting rather comfortable."you comfortable? maybe i should move my stuff so you can lay on the table instead? you can use my bag as a pillow."he said before trying to return to his work. obviously he wasn't planning on moving. if his typing annoyed her so much, then she would eventually move.
Nakia couldn't help but smirk slightly at his question, "How about I keep you guessing, I'm sure you'll figure it out sooner or later." She teases before lifting her hand to her mouth and gasping. "Oh wait... maybe not because I keep distracting you. Oh well." She added, not at all bothered by his comment, finding it somewhat amusing since she believed she had done far better than Elliott. When she had put her feet on the chair next to him, she found herself rather comfortable and amused at his counter. "Oh?" She sat up straight as she leaned closer to Elliott. "Why move it? Maybe I should just lay on it right now?" She whispered, clearly amused that he had the nerve to test her like this. "I mean the worst that could happen is you up and leave right?" She taunted, smirking slightly at him because she knew if she hadn't been a distraction before she likely was being one right now. Oh how she loved winning these games.
"Also calling me a Princess is an interesting name. You planning on bowing to me too?" She taunted, doing everything in her power to get Elliott back. She almost hadn't noticed the flirting back but it was difficult to stop when she had reason to believe it likely annoyed him a lot. Now that she got her counter out of the way, figuring he wasn't serious about her laying on the table, she once more placed her feet back on the chair, getting as comfortable as much as possible, having other ideas on what or whom she could use as a pillow.
elliott stared at her blankly as he received his answer. this wasn't going to go anywhere good and as much as he liked to argue with her, that was not going to happen, he didn't bother letting her know that he could care less what she was. as curious as he was, he wasn't going to give her that satisfaction."you're hilarious. please continue with what you were doing. you're not a distraction at all."
he told her with a smirk before returning his attention back to his work. he dealt with people like her before. if they didn't have their way they would throw a fit. fine, she could throw a fit, but he wasn't going to pay any attention. surely she would get sick of being ignored and leave.
"don't let me stop you. make yourself comfortable."elliott said without looking up from his screen. just how far was this girl thinking she could go? he was going to call her bluff."i'm not leaving. don't get your hopes up."he said looking up for a couple of seconds before returning to his work.
"in your dreams. that'd be the day. me submitting to someone so rude and entitled."he told her as he moved to gather his files. she was definitely a wild card and he'd rather have his files safely in his hands than on the table.
Nakia couldn't help but feel amused as she watched his reaction. "Why thank you, I think I will." She answered Elliott in return, not that she needed his permission but there was no sense in stopping, not unless he bothered to call mercy and the likely hood of that happened, wasn't high, no, not at all. That smirk on his face, oh how she wanted to make it turn into a frown again, it seemed no matter his face expression it was difficult to avoid chatting with him, he was just so addicting, words she wasn't able to explain even if she attempted to try. "Aww bummer and here I thought I was winning." She had a smirk on face, though it would be lie if she claimed unhappy that he chose to stick around anyway. He further had invited her to lay on top of the table. Oh this was going to be so much fun.
"Right now?" She asked, interested in seeing his face expression, since most wouldn't have meant that dare. She wanted to win, this was all this was, nothing more and nothing less. She couldn't help but chuckle when he had moved his files out of her way, he must have believed she was wiling to go this far else he wouldn't have moved them in the first place. "Changed your mind?" She taunted further as she watched his face expression, so comfy as her feet rested on the chair next to him.
elliott sighed before he began to speak.”that was sarcasm halloween girl."once again he didn't bother looking up. his goal wasn't to have an actual conversation with her. no his goal was to annoy her in any manner possible. he was certain he wasn't going to give her the satisfaction of leaving. giving her that victory was the last thing he would do. though he wasn't sure what she was capable!e of he had a feeling that sooner or later he would find out.
its why he had moved his files. if she was willing to take chances, he was going to make sure his important documents remained unharmed. had he known this girl would cause him so much trouble he wouldn't of sat down in the first place. people nowadays simply had no common sense or manners.
he looked up once more, a smile on his face.”are you asking me permission? that’s interesting.”of course he knew she was simply asking a question. it was left unsaid, no matter what he said he was positive she was just going to do whatever she wanted. he returned his attention back to his computer, the typing commencing once again. he had given her enough attention. the task at hand was to finish this and leave. he wasn’t going to leave until his work was completed. he rolled his eyes at her next comment.”what gave you that idea?”he asked as he glanced over at the documents he had moved out of her reach.
Nakia couldn't help but chuckle when he spelled it out for her. "Aww that is so sweet, spelling things out for me." She mocked Elliott in return. "I think you enjoy such things, it must satisfy you." She added, still having that smirk on her face because she knew he'd likely counter from that, how could he not when she made one hell of an effort. "Why not? Haven't you figured out by now that I'm interested in your reactions?" She answered in return, not at all ashamed for admitting such things to him. It was a harmless answer, it wasn't like she was starting to have feelings for him or anything like that. "The fact you wouldn't risk your documents too me, good decision by the way." She answered, still debating on if she'd lay on the table or not.
elliott rolled his eyes and remained silent. though the silence didn’t last too long.”just wanting to make sure you don’t get things all mixed up.”he chuckled at her next comment. if anything it was further from the truth. he hated explaining things to people that couldn’t get it the first time.”oh yes, explaining everything little thing to people that can’t comprehend the simplest thing is very fulfilling.”he words dripping with sarcasm. he returned his attention back to his work.
he sighed softly, clearly this girl wasn’t going to stop. he continued typing for a couple more seconds before speaking.”that’s cute. not interested.”he told her plain and simple, hoping to deter her from any further interactions, though with her. the interaction would probably stop if and only when he left. that’s after all what she wanted, to get him to leave the table. he wasn’t going to give her that satisfaction. he would complete his work and then he would leave.
he looked up from his computer and rolled his eyes once more.”my actions have nothing to do with you.”of course that was a lie. yes he may have needed to glance them over once more, but that really wasn’t the only reason that he had moved them over. she was a wild card and the last thing he wanted to do was pick up all his documents from the floor.
