Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff
season
Summer 2022
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
With April, an activity check has arrived for members to do! Please post on the AC and tag all your accounts, including WIPs and OOC accounts. Failure to post on this AC will result in your accounts being marked inactive or deleted. Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
There was the soft sound of running water trickling down the incline towards a melt-made puddle at the bottom. Styx stood at the top of the incline, watching the droplets cascade over damp ground and around obstructions such as rocks and trees. The way it flowed so peacefully.. fluidly... it was intriguing.
A different sort of movement caught the reaper's attention. It was small, black, ugly. It was a terror. The way to scurried towards the distant voices of people- humans, tourists- was most interesting. Even more so than the melting snow-water. Styx didn't care for terrors. They caused pointless harm and destruction towards the pure hearted. Styx loathed this. If they were creatures such as Styx, perhaps the reaper would be more inclined to allow it to continue existing.
Finally pulling their right leg in front of them, the reaper began to half walk, half glide down the hill after the mid-tiered terror. Where there was one there was probably more. While Styx felt pleasure when others were fearful and suffering, they preferred it much more when it was caused by their own doing. Zeredah's terrors made this very agitating to achieve.
Styx should be the one making the evil tourists scream not the evil blobs!
Pulling out their large, red chainsaw, the reaper gave the cord a few trying tugs. They revelled in the way the engine rumbled and grunted with each pull. They laughed in glee. The machine didn't start... but Styx wasn't trying to start it. The sound would instill fear directly into their future victims. Take that, terrors! There was a hush that seemed to fall over the entire forest as they gave the cord a third tug. Even the birds stopped their singing.
How fun.
This is when they began to run. Trees whizzed by as they ran faster and faster. Suddenly, the reaper let out a blood curdling scream that would chill mortal souls and instill a sense of oncoming death. Styx was coming to play.
People began to scream before Styx even arrived to their destination. Terrors would be there. And the terrors would perish by Styx's hands... or saw.

Sunlight poured over the Calico Forest, providing a particularly relaxing warmth to settle on the creatures below. A soft wind rustled through the branches above, creating a constant sense of motion. Life buzzed through the freshly grown brush, animals preparing to welcome new life into the world. Everything about the wilderness screamed life and beauty, although, people were cautious when venturing into the wild world. Terrors roamed through the trees, predators against all supernatural creatures who called Earth their home.
[break][break]
Alas, there were the fortunate few who could enter Calico Forest without a single thought of worry crossing their mind. Merrily skipping through the trees, Wren was quite pleased after accomplishing the day's objectives. Wrapped around his shoulders was a tattered cloak, evident blood splatter soaking the material, creating darker patches. The hood was drawn up carefully over his hair, the psychopath binding the locks behind his head in a long ponytail. The hair was hidden in the neck hole, hiding safety beneath the protective fabric.
[break][break]
Blood splatter on white hair would be a nightmare, at least, Wren assumed. Holstered on the golem's thigh was a handgun, tightly secured and freshly used. Beside the holstered firearm was a pair of long blades for emergency use, however, blood was dripping from the pointed tips. Recently, the Assembly soldier had completed his duties to kill, his serial killer instincts humouring him with a particularly gruesome death. Silly tree man thought he could defeat him, but Wren shaved away the bark. There was plenty of sticky sap, the butterflies and bees which followed quickly clinging to drink away the delicious liquid.
[break][break]
Gleeful giggles escaped the white-haired man's mouth as he proceeded to skip through the trees, green eyes wandering. There were plenty of strange creatures flying through the sky, from cats to dogs. Leaves dissipated like smoke, melting into one another in a wispy cloud before suddenly reappearing. Suddenly, the loud revving of some unknown kind of engine filled the forest, birds silencing or flying away. The psychopath paused, curiosity flashing onto his face while his green eyes flitted through the trees.
[break][break]
Only a mere few moments later did the screaming start, the musical noise reaching Wren's ears. Promptly, a large grin stretched across the golem's lips, revealing his beautiful, white teeth. A single hand reached, long black nails drumming the firearm's handle. The sounds of screams on a beautiful spring afternoon meant an excellent way to get the blood pumping, and thus, the soldier followed them. Returning home to the wonderful Matthew could wait a few more moments, especially considering the possible fun to arrive.
[break][break]
Certainly, the ravishing man would understand that the psychopath considering it his duty to murder anybody who proved to be a potential threat, especially considering how enjoyable the hunt could be. The surprised faces as the light diminished from their eyes was spectacular and thrilling. Accessing his enhanced speed, Wren launched himself through the trees, smoothly moving around while his green eyes searched. Eventually, he ceased movement, obscured by the treeline as citizens screamed in terror, all fleeing hastily in any direction.
[break][break]
Lightning quick, the gun was taken from holster, aimed and fired at the crowd of running people. The screams escalated as spouts of blood erupted from where the bullets collided, some targets toppling motionlessly to the ground. How delightful.
