Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

[attr="class","honey2"]maybe it would of been better had she not decided to count down the days till he said he was going to be back. it wasn't that she didn't believe that he wasn't capable of taking care of himself, it was just in her nature to worry. though she managed to keep busy. it wasn't like she wouldn't see him again. it wasn't like last time, he wasn't avoiding her.
work kept her busy and throw in the occasional hour or two she would babysit for her neighbor and it made her day go pretty quick. she couldn't exactly say no to them. then again she found it rather hard to say no to anyone. though they had been very helpful when she had first moved in and she had grown close to them. besides, it wasn't like they were constantly dropping their kid off at her door step. she just happened to be free.
it had been such a long day. it had been so cold in the morning and it seemed like it wouldn't stop snowing, but it had. she didn't mind the snow, she just rather not be caught in it. she was ready to curl up on the couch with a cup of tea and finish the book she had been putting off for a few days or maybe she'd watch a movie. she had at least managed to change into more comfortable clothes and start the tea water when she heard the knock on her door.
was it silly of her to get excited? she knew it wasn't him. plus he had his own set of keys. no, she knew who it was. she had told them she would babysit yet again. she couldn't say no especially when it was their anniversary. they had someone else, but they had cancelled at the last minute. besides it wasn't like she had anything planned for the rest of the day. the little boy, aiden had already kicked off his shoes and ran inside, while danika remained at the door with his mother. letting her know what time they would be back and handing her a bag of aiden's things.
this kid was sure full of energy, but were they not all at that age. she headed back towards the kitchen to make her cup of tea, making sure to set the cup with the hot liquid out of reach. she knew he wasn't going to settle down anytime soon, so what better way then to get rid of that extra energy than by playing a few games. it wasn't long before they were back in the living room sitting in front of the coffee table, colors scattered all over. aiden was focused on his coloring book and danika was actually getting some reading done."just let me know when you're hungry, sweetie i can make your favorite, spaghetti."she tells him before she goes back to reading.

Decker had gone away for couple days to meet with a pack of other werewolves. It wasn't like him to do so but they had offered to take in the stray as one of their own. Especially after finding out who he really was. It seemed like they were looking for someone with his skills. But Decker wasn't about the pack life. The last time he was part of a pack he killed them all. Granted it was during a full moon when he hadn't learned to control his urges yet. But still that day still haunts him. So he went and hashed it out telling them no and that was that. At least he hopped. Some packs can be very... well demanding and don't take no very well. So he just hoped the alpha would understand.
As he returned to the city excited to see Danika, after all it has been too long since they were together. He stopped by a pizza place to pick up a pie hoping she hadn't eaten yet so they could at least share a meal when he returns. After all they were pretty much living together at this point since Decker has no real place to go to. And they were dating so it just worked out. More so for Danika during the cold nights where Decker would shift into his full wolf form to sleep. Both making himself warmer and the green haired woman he loved.
As he got to the apartment he got in and casually walked up the stairs to her floor, holding the pizza in one hand the key in the other as he got to the door. He slid the key into the lock, and with an audible click unlocked it. It was quite satisfying hearing that click of the lock, knowing he had someplace where he belonged now. As he opened the door into the warm apartment. As he took off his shoes and entered into the living room to see Danika sitting and reading...and a kid. He was a bit taken back for moment. As he looked at the kid then back at Danika a couple times more confused than ever. Was it his? no way right? It can't be. Even if it was, who the hell was the mother. Was he in trouble now... All these thoughts racing through his mind.
[attr="class","honey2"]she had been completely absorbed in the book that she didn't hear the door being opened. she hadn't bothered to look up even after hearing the door close. assuming it was aiden's parents. though she did find it odd for a minute that they hadn't knocked and they had said they wouldn't be back just yet. besides she was at a good part in her book,. she needed to find out what was going to happen next. so many things were being reveled, that she couldn't take her eyes off the page. after a few seconds, she finally looked up to see who really had arrived."daddy's home, aiden."danika said with a small laugh after witnessing aiden's reaction and was clearly was expecting his actual dad and not decker. aiden was not amused and within a few seconds returned to his coloring.
she closed her book and stood up, making her towards decker. he seemed a bit quiet. she was careful not to knock the box of pizza as she hugged him."what? did you think i was going to change the lock or something?"she asked with a laugh avoiding the elephant in the room. well, she wasn't avoiding anything. she was merely waiting for questions she would gladly answer. his reaction made her curious. what was he thinking? clearly the two had never met and honestly it hadn't occurred to introduce them the previous times he had been here.
then again it wasn't like he needed to know who she baby sat like once in a blue moon. his family always seemed to be rather busy. it had honestly surprised her when they had asked her if she could take care of aiden. usually they were more prepared, but life happens. she didn't mind hanging out with him."aiden, come say hello. look decker brought you pizza."she said after letting go and heading into the kitchen."you have the best timing, i was just about to start cooking."danika said with a smile. though that didn't appear to be the case. as she had been sitting on the floor completely focused on her book. aiden wasn't shy when it came to letting her know what he wanted. so the cooking would of happened sooner or later.

Decker looked at Danika when she said daddy was home. Almost all of his color being drained from his face. She has to be joking right. yes he has had his flings throughout the years. But like he made sure to knock any of them up to make a kid. Like shit, what if he screwed up just once and now look. As he hugged her back, still confused about everything not even responding to her joke about changing the locks.
He followed Danika into the kitchen, still glancing at the kid. As he walked up to the counter placing the box down. As he leaned over to Danika. "Is that thing mine? I sure hell hope not." he said with a cheekiness smile telling her what he was so hung up about since walking through the door and seeing the kid. And not to mention calling Aiden a thing. Decker was and still is not good with kids. He finds them to be more like dogs than anything else... And for some reason he hates dogs. It isn't that he hates kids, its just that he didn't know how to interact with them what so ever.
As glanced back at the little human. "I hope it isn't I got no time for a kid with my job. Especially since half the time I don't know if Iw will come out alive..." he stopped talking instantly knowing he had just said waaaay to much about what he does for work without actually saying what he does. As he just quietly opened the box up and plating a piece of pizza onto the plate before setting it down on the table. Then sitting down not making a sound and started to eat to fill his mouth so he wouldn't have to talk.
[attr="class","honey2"]this had all been spur of the moment. she hadn't planned on this whole joke. she was clearly amused by this whole thing. in her defense, it's not like she had planned this whole thing from the get go. she knew he would be back soon, but she didn't think he'd be walking in on her babysitting.
she couldn't help, but laugh."thing? it's a boy."she was clearly enjoying his reaction."you mean ours? do i need to give you a quick anatomy lesson?"she asked him rhetorically, yet she started explaining, not into great detail."it takes nine months. he's five. so, no."she said with a teasing smile as she placed a slice of pizza on a plate for aiden.
"had i known this would of been your reaction, i would of brought more kids."she teased him once more."i won't let you suffer anymore."she told him with a smile."don't worry, no one dropped him off claiming he was yours. he's the neighbor's kid."
she had been about to walk over to aiden and hand him his plate, when decker's next comment stopped her in her track. she hadn't been expecting that."wait, what?"so many things were running through her head. they had discussed it before. well, no they really hadn't. out of respect for his privacy and she knew how touchy that subject could be. she never asked him what his job officially entailed. she was just about to start question him when aiden spoke up."danika, i'm hungry."she sighed softly."oh, yes. here you go."she said as she sat his plate on the coffee table.
clearly it wasn't a lie. he was being too quiet about it. she frowned and crossed her arms. she wasn't sure what she was going to do with that information. what good would it do her to find out how dangerous his job actually was? ignorance was bliss, right? she opted to remain standing once she headed back to the kitchen. she was trying to think of what to say, but the words failed her. though the pout on her face was pretty clear she wasn't happy with that new information.

Decker looked at her knowing she was teasing him with the way she was talking. It was a valid concern of his. He was not good with kids what so ever. He had no idea how to handle them, talk to them, let alone take of them. So kids and him do not mix. At least that is what he thought. Maybe if he had his own it would be different because it would be his own blood. But other kids, that was a no go. Maybe in the future he could try but that day was not today. "you know it's fair to tease someone you have not seen in a while. I hear it brings back luck." he said teasingly back, a bit flirtatious tone added to it too.
Decker just kept putting food in his mouth and not even glancing at Danika after saying a bit too much about his profession. After all they have went through, telling her he kills people, and puts himself in danger every time he takes a contract. Yeaaaa he thought she wouldn't be too happy about that. Especially since their talk at the bar before he kinda moved in. So he wasn't going to say anything, and force himself to keep food in his mouth so he couldn't answer. He didn't want a repeat of what had already happened. So hopefully she wouldn't question further. Hopefully that was, he was expecting she would and he would have to spill what he actually does. Which she would not be proud of.
[attr="class","honey2"]she smiled at his teasing words. sooner or later she knew he was going to get her back."is that so? then i best be careful, but i make no promises."
clearly he had been joking, but with that last comment. she was starting to believe, maybe she did have bad luck. from what she already knew, it wasn't like his job was something super safe, but still when he put it in those terms, it definitively didn't make her feel any better.
she wished he hadn't said and thing and by his reaction she was going to take a guess and say he would do the same. she was completely lost in her own thoughts. trying to figure out a way to word her question. oh, did she have some questions. she wasn't about to let it slide. her curiosity was getting the better of her.
she couldn't just stand there and continue to stare him down. he wasn't looking at her. could she blame him though? she sighed and figured a nice cup of tea would do her good. at least keep her distracted. it had been only a few minutes and she had completely forgotten about aiden. though he hadn't forgotten about her. he had tugged at her sweater, snapping her out of her thoughts. right now she needed to focus on him.
"sweetie, come sit at the table."she told him as she head towards the living room to get his coloring book and crayons. her phone buzzed and she checked the message she had received."your parents will be here in a few minutes."she told him as she set the the book down. in a few minutes. that could be five or ten minutes from now. she figured it was best if she got his things all packed. it wasn't like she was ready to throw him out. it was already a bit tense in the room. though she only had herself to blame for that.
aiden now sitting at the table, would stop coloring and stare at decker."are those real?"he asked curiously as he pointed at his ears. she had finished collecting his things, put his coloring book and crayons away. when she heard the knock on the door. that felt like time had passed way too fast."aiden come get your coat."she called to him as she opened the door. as soon as she did aiden had already come running to greet his parents. they chatted for what seemed like a few seconds and off they went.
she sighed softly and headed back to the kitchen for the cup of tea. she took a sip before setting it back on the counter."so, did you want more pizza?"so many questions she wanted to ask him and that's the first thing that comes out of her mouth.

Decker kept avoiding eye contact with the green haired beauty not wanting to say a single word after slipping up. Hell he didn't want to be here right now and have to answer anything. But he had nowhere else to go, and that would make him feel even more guilty than he already felt. He has felt guilty ever since their heart to heart because his job was to legit kill people and that came with risk in of itself. But to be fair to him, that is all he knows, ever since he was turned into werewolf, was killing. His thought process was interrupted when the kid climbed up onto one of the chairs and sat there doing what ever he was doing.
When he asked if those were real. Decker turned his head a bit confusion, a second passed before he understood the kid was referring to his ears. Decker nodded as he pulled back his hair to where any other human ear would have been, but for him there was nothing, just skin. "yuppers they real." he said as he started to move his ears for the kid to entertain him slightly.
When Danika answered the door and the kid finally had his parents pick him up, Decker breathed a sigh of relief. he really didn't like kids. Mostly cause he didn't know how to deal with them. But his moment of relief was all gone when Danika walked back to the kitchen, took a sip of her tea and asked if he wanted more pizza. He finished his slices of the pie and looked at her. Not speaking, or anything, he just shook his head no. Deciding to stay silent this time.
[attr="class","honey2"]she would be lying if she didn't admit to find those to interacting completely adorable. the sheer fact that they even spoke to each was just great. she had watched them for a few seconds before she had returned to packing aiden's things.
she had started to wish for a bit more time with him. at least having aiden around there would be a reason as to why she wasn't paying attention to decker. as soon as the they left she wished they would come back.
she wasn't sure what she was going to do. it was obvious he didn't want to talk. simply shaking his head at her question."are you not going to talk to me at all?"she questioned him. this was ridiculous. they could have a conversation right? they had to have a conversation. he can't just drop something that serious and pretend it didn't happen.
she already knew they were going to have to part eventually. though at this moment she wasn't sure what was worse. him leaving her, breaking off their relationship, as hard as it would be or her waiting for a day that he wouldn't return. it would drive her mad. she did not want to go through that again. once was enough.
this irrational fear of losing everyone she loved was rising to the surface again. it was the whole reason she kept saying no to him when he had asked her out. yet she pushed those thoughts aside. why? she had come to realize she didn't want to be without him. those days he had been avoiding her. those days were terrible and she missed him.
she sighed once more. so many things running through her mind. she wasn't sure what she wanted to say. half the things sounded ridiculous. if she were to keep pestering him with this would he leave? would he come back or avoid her for good? as much as she wanted to know she couldn't bring herself to say it."were you ever going to tell me? or was i going to have to find out the hard way?"her voice shook as she spoke. knowing she should of said anything, but she couldn't hold in these emotions.
