Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

It wasn’t often that Azura’s supposed ‘pets’ were quite so demanding. Still, anyone that knew her would know well enough this was because they had no need to be. She was a pushover. Or at least, that’s what she’d always been told. When it came to animals, or children, or her brother...literally anyone she cared about or that didn’t make her feel terribly uneasy, she’d readily go out of her way to help them without hesitation. That very reason was why she had so many animals lose within her home rather than locked in their cages, that might as well be just for decoration until she or her brother happened to have a guest over. Knowing her, that wasn’t too likely, knowing him...well, it depended, but he’d probably rather go somewhere else than bring anyone there. It might as well be a zoo by now, anyway.
Still, it seemed today was an exception for many things, as Cryus and Amar had been quite insistent on her taking them for a flight about the neighbourhood, and in truth, there wasn’t much she could do but allow it. And accompany them, of course, because she’d be damned if she ever let the mischievous pair fly about on their own however likely they were to return home of their own accord. Still, it frustrated her that they couldn’t have picked a slightly warmer day, preferably one on which snow wasn’t persistently falling from the sky to dampen her head. Fluffing up the feathers of her tiny avian form in apparent distaste - not that she’d ever admit her dislike for the cold, nor would she complain - she settled to perch open a slim, snowy branch to watch the pair of conures twist and soar through the skies. At least they weren’t knocking snow onto her from the branches above, again.
Azura had to admit, at least. She was glad they were having fun.
In fact, she’d been just about to fly up to join them, glad the snow was letting off some, when movement caught her sensitive eye. Someone was approaching. Crest raising slightly atop her head with uncertainty, she studied the stranger for a moment, before flitting forward to perch on a high fence for a better look. Not to close, but sometimes it was hard to convince her of that. The stranger was just that - a stranger. A younger, pink haired female she knew absolutely nothing about. That tended to be the case for most anyone she happened upon, really.
She didn’t really fancy calling attention to herself, perfectly happy to let the strange walk on by and leave them in peace. However, as Cyrus proved far too curious for his own good, and Amar not paying nearly enough attention to his surroundings, she realised it was inevitable. Well, hopefully, the stranger didn’t care for birds. Or, in the very least, didn’t hold a dangerous distaste for them. Trilling a call to the pair, she watched as they immediately halted their actions to flock back toward her. She didn’t need to be told of Cyrus’ disappointment that he couldn’t play some tricks on the stranger, but he’d get over it.
At least this way he’d be able to get over it. The bird needed to learn some restrain.
The Halogan Estate's private garden, a mere few blocks away from the vicinity of the prominent, castle-like complex that an extended family of high-born demons called home. With regards to the said garden, it's once lush scenery of green as far as the eye can see finally lapsed back to its annual half-year long dormant state. The vast array of well-trimmed boxwood shrubs and trees of varying shapes, sizes and shades of green have been littered by that cold, powdery white stuff which many people naturally regarded with distaste. The same, if not more can be said about the the once grassy terrain, now blanketed with at least 10 centimeters of freezing snow and counting. Even the small pond that decorated the center of the gardens succumbed to the sub-zero conditions, its frozen surface having been almost entirely concealed a seemingly endless white. Needless to say, not a single discernible soul was yet to be found in the family gardens considering its devitalized state, at least that was the case until it was proved otherwise by the sound of hard boots trudging against the crisp snow.
Rosalynn Halogan and her two faithful servants, Morgana and Fatima traversed the snow covered area from where a cobblestone path would normally be visible. The tall and stern-looking Morgana held a large umbrella over her young master even as snow slowly accumulated atop her light brown hair and the thick mantle worn over her shoulders, the same can be said of the raven-haired and youthful looking Fatima who carried with her a large paper bag with both hands. As for the young demon lady herself, a rather unorthodox thick-rimmed sunglasses with an oval shape adorned the upper half of her face whilst a noticeably vexed expression is visible on the lower half. Her normally ostentatious wardrobe appeared to have compromised in favour of warmth over fashion in the meantime, at least taking Rosa's standards into account. A thick, black gothic coat covered the girl's torso and upper thighs, its fur-covered rims by the collars and sleeves lacking the frills which were typical in Rosa's outfits. Nevertheless, the usual laces and elaborate embroidery were still present on the coat's lapels in addition the embellished chiffon frills lining the rim of the skirt.
Rosa's uttered a long, exasperated groan as the group passed through the ornate metallic arch by the garden's entrance. The old-folks back at the manor were bickering once again, which may or may not directly be her fault. Either way, she tires of having to consistently deal which the stifling and self-indulgent atmosphere of some of her elitist relatives as if she's one to talk. Although the gardens were technically off-bounds to members of the noble house until late-spring, pulling her grandfather's strings had become a relatively elementary task especially after that Halloween Event. With the help of her... connections she had managed to clear the place of those Blue-collar plebeians who had been assigned to tend to the gardens during winter. It was admittedly, not the perfect place for a quick respite yet a more than adequate refuge from family politics. Scanning the near surroundings, the trademark bonsai trees and flowers pots seemed to be absent, most probably stored in the greenhouse further left of where she is now.
Upon nearing the Victorian style octagonal gazebo positioned near the now frozen pond, Rosa took the liberty of rushing ahead of her maids for shelter, clearing the white stuff off her thigh-length embroidered stockings before facing her maids. "Maaaaarge, Faaaanny like, hurry up, Imma need ya guys to draw a circle, gogogo!" Rosa exclaimed, not even bothering to hide the weariness in her voice. Both her maids, who had all but become jaded with the young lady's unreasonable requests, acquiesced without a word. Whilst Rosa languidly rested herself by the seats, both Morgana and Fatima wasted no time in procuring a chalk and deftly drawing a n elaborate looking hex circle by the wooden flooring shortly before a rather bored Rosa outstretched her arms towards said circle. Soon afterwards, a bright red glow emanated over the hex circle for a fleeting second before an outlandish looking creature materialized.
A grey scaled creature reminiscent of a 2 feet, miniature dragon or more accurately, a bipedal salamander with wings let out its mighty roar... or rather mighty squeak as it soon flapped its wings to fly. "Tonton, c'mere..." Rosa lazily called out prior to the otherworldly looking creature smoothly gliding over the girl's lap. Unfortunately for her, she is yet unable to summon any creature with a more... comfortable exterior, so to speak. "Dangit Tonton, can't ya have like fur or.... well, feathers that are actually like, pettable or somethin'?" To which Tonton merely squeaked happily in response, causing Rosa to further groan and arch her head by the gazebo's railings in such an angle that allowed her her to look at the the sky behind her. More snow again it would seem... that was until a striking speck of yellow-orange and turquoise-green immediately caught her attention, prompting her to sit upright and look back once more. Two exotic looking birds, flying about in such bleak weather, just what Rosa needed!
"Fanny, binoculars, NOW!" Rosa demanded as she removed her sunglasses, catching Fatima off-guard as she nodded and hastily withdrew a lavish-looking opera binocular, which for some reason Rosa felt she needed to bring most of the time. Upon being handed the device, Rosa quickly leaped over the railing with the Tonton still earnestly following her despite just being unceremoniously thrown off by the girl's sudden actions. Well at least her mood improved significantly, that's for sure. With the aid of the binoculars, Rosa then eagerly examined the bird's features. "O.M.G Tonton, I can't believe it... those species of parakeets are like, literally not even from the Northern Hemisphere like, have they flown here all the way from i dunno, Brazil or somethin'? and like, they're literally here in what's literally my backyard and like I can't even-" Before long, Rose droned on as the bird-lover observed the said conures closely prior to abruptly handing the binoculars over to Tonton's babylike claws and taking out her phone.
"Need... to take... pic..." She uttered as she tapped hastily onto the phone and set off to chasing the birds.

Apparently, Azura was truly leading on false hopes. Rather than just ignoring the birds, the girl demanded some kind of binoculars, before leaping to her feet and tugging out a phone instead. Not to mention, she had some kind of dragon with her which now carried the binoculars as it followed.
She seemed very intent on following them.
As the girl began running toward them, phone in hand, Azura released a cry of alarm and fluttered from her perch. This time, her companions stuck close to her, though soon enough they fluttered ahead and veered toward a tree. Their perch was high, at least, not out of sight but hopefully out of reach. ‘She just wants a picture of us,’ Cyrus insisted, nudging Amar until the turquoise bird uncertainly agreed.
Realising she wasn’t going to change their minds, Azura huffed and fluffed her feathers slightly as she settled on the branch. They had better be right, and that girl better not be able to somehow reach them. They could fly away quicker than a human could climb, but who was to say this girl was human? It was more likely she wasn’t, honestly. What if she could grow bigger, or just up to grab them somehow?
Sidling closer to the Conures, she settled her gaze warily on the girl.
How very peculiar indeed, for a Neotropical species of birds to be flying in such weather conditions. Rosa was quite certain that there were no colonies of conures in Lorsette, which in turn prompted her to hypothesize. It is quite probable that the birds were domesticated, although the apparent lack of an owner's presence insinuated the possibility of the said birds being escapees. The girl had no intentions of harming the supposedly lost creatures, they were just animals after all. An actual person flying through and therefore trespassing through Halogan property is a different story entirely, at least it was for Rosa. Every strenuous step taken through the ankle-deep snow took its toll on the young demon lady's delicate physique until she finally halted and is reduced to clutching both her knees.
Tonton, upon noticing this, immediately swerved back and alighted atop Rosa's shoulder whilst squealing heartily in a characteristically unsophisticated fashion despite the additional strain it inflicted upon its master. Of course Rosa was conscious to the fact that it was near impossible for her to catch up to such swift avian creatures, although she did manage to successfully capture an clear enough photo for future reference. Pretty soon she shall have eyes all over Lorsette in pursuit of these exotic critters which she would eventually claim as hers. At least that was the initial plan before she redirected her attention back towards the snowy sky only to detect an additional speck of blue feathers flapping its wings along with the two conures. "More... birdies..." She panted out whilst weakly raising her phone in an attempt to capture the moment.
Before long, Rosa's two impassive maids finally caught up, taking their sweet time in walking at a steady pace. "Milady, what are you doing?" Morgana queried upon nearing Rosa's side. In response, Rosa simply pointed at the wintry-looking olive tree over the distance and uttered "Conures... with a Blue Jay... I want 'em... Marge can ya-". Cutting her mid-sentence, Morgana wasted no time in shaking her head, just as Rosa anticipated. Out of the three demons in the group, only Morgana was capable of wing manifestation. Of course Rosa could just order Tonton to seize them outright yet Rosa had her misgivings about the simpleminded, winged-lizard making a snack out of the birds. Nevertheless, the birds stopping by the tree was actually she could ask for, it certainly saves her the trouble of having to track them days afterwards.
Rosa then feigned annoyance as she stretched herself back to an upright position. "Sheesh Marge... well it's not like I needs ya anyway, I'm like a literal princess, those critters will be all over me in a minute, just watch!" She casually declared in a rather haughty manner before brushing Tonton off her shoulder and scampering forth, eliciting sighs from her maidservants as they felt compelled to follow. Before long, the self-proclaimed 'princess' stumbled through the thick blanket of snow with much difficulty until one the birds eventually entered to her line of sight, the one sporting the striking turquoise feathers in particular. As such, Rosa smiled as the Hazel hues of her eyes locked onto target, after all, animals were technically helpless against her mastery of possession. In moments, such notions have been transmitted to the Green-cheek Conure...
'She seems like a good person... I like her... I should fly closer...'
... and before long, the brightly-coloured bird fluttered out of the snowy tree, slowly flapping its way onto the demon girl's outstretched arm. "See... see?! I told ya they'd come!" She exclaimed, chuckling all the while. Of course it would acquiesce to her demands, implanting such thoughts in animals were an elementary task to this manipulative prodigy. All the while, her free hand holding the smartphone took liberties in snapping photos as the bird gradually came closer.
It wasn’t long before the girl was joined by two more people, as well as a strange dragon that perched upon her shoulders as she recovered from struggling through the snow. Still, she kept trying to take pictures of them. At least such was a harmless action. She wasn’t going to hurt them. Well, not with pictures, anyway, though still the jay’s feathers ruffled irritably as she watched the younger female move closer still, seemingly enthralled by Azura’s addition to the group as they settled on their new perch, her eyeing them warily, and the boys with curiosity.
That was, until the girl said something about wanting them, along with some other nonsense the avian didn’t listen to in her new tensed state as she released a sharp cry of indignation, moving herself somewhat possessively closer to her conure companions. ‘Just a picture, huh?’ Still, Amar seemed to have other plans, as without warning, the more nervy of the pair seemed to suddenly express an interest in the girl before fluttering off the branch.
Sending a sharp glance to Amar that clearly insisted he stay put, Azura found herself diving down off her branch to utter a warning cry to the stranger, hoping to distract her attention with a harmless peck to her outstretched arm before fluttering out of reach and blocking the path between her and Amar, hoping to herd him back to the tree. She didn’t trust this girl, and she was suspicious of Amar’s sudden turn in demeanour. She might have expected something like this from Cyrus, but even he was staying put as he was told, squawking irritably at his faux brother with a flap of his wings.
The turquoise feathered parakeet soon fluttered closer to the demon girl's extended arm, eliciting but the mildest expression of surprise from both Morgana and Fatima. Considering that such potential, high calibre pets somehow found their way towards her, she found little reason not to take this opportunity to add them to her collection of pets. With eyes scanning the avian creature's movements through the lens of her smartphone, the sudden flash of blue that flitted out from the olive tree prompted Rosa to halt her photo-taking antics. Shortly afterwards, the Blue Jay audaciously obstructed her view of the conure, drawing out a playful grin from Rosa. "Ooh ooh, the blue one came to me! Marge, Fanny ya see this? I think Imma name this one 'Bleu', as in blue in French, which kiiinda sounds the same and all that-" the young lady blurted out as the blue bird drifted closer to her arm and pecked at her thick, fur sleeve. Either way, it would appear as though the Blue Jay has a new official nickname.
As such, the wide-eyed Rosa leaned a bit closer so as to closer inspect the curious creature. "Oooooh... look, it's acting like their mom or somethin'..." flashing an even brighter grin, she added "Hmmm... It's like, it could literally understand me, don't ya guys think?". Already, Rosa had an inkling of the possible scenario in place. However, Rosa's summoned minion suddenly and unceremoniously landed at Rosa's shoulder and began snarling at the smaller creature. "Ugh, dangit bad Tonton, BAD!" Rosa exclaimed. She promptly ceased the possession process as he grabbed her lizard-like pet with both hands and hastily outstretched her arms towards her maid's general direction. "Like, get him out of here before this numbskull chows down of some feathered critters, c'mon hurry, chop chop!" the girl demanded, to which a blank-faced Morgana gently carried away the still disconcerted Tonton back to the gazebo.
Afterwards, Rosa casually dusted bits of snow off her shoulder and hair. It would appear as though a change in tactics was in order upon perceiving a rational being within their ranks. After all, scaring her 'guest' off was something she wished to avoid. Rosa gave the nearby Fatima a small pout. "Welp... it seems like the birds just ain't into little old me eh?" She declared prior to redirecting her attention back to the birds. "Then again... those birds really shouldn't be out here... especially in such weather..." She stated, her voice more mellow than before, dropping her urban slang in the meantime. Dealing with animals and an actual person were two entirely different things, considering that the latter would definitely need more reasoning in order to get to their good side.
Rosa then approached them closer. "Actually, neotropical birds shouldn't even be out in this temperature, can't you help me out here Fanny, they must be freezing up there..." she informed Fatima, eliciting an intrigued expression from her maid. "Milady, you're... surprisingly knowledgeable about birds." Fatima commented. True enough, Rosa makes extra measures to conceal her genius from her family. Unwanted attention from a bunch of elitist snobs expecting things from her was the last thing she needed. Regardless, Rosa just as quickly dispelled Fatima's curiosity upon nearing the tree as she arched her head up whilst scratching her head. "Hey birdieeeeees! C'mon dooooown! Pretty pleeeeeeease?! Scary lizard idiot's gone noooow!" Rosa yelled. "We have treats for ya!" She continued before immediately glancing over to Fatima and asked in a unnecessarily hushed tone "Fanny... what'd ya have in the picnic bag?" .
