Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

not even a few weeks back and jean was already bored. he had decided to leave his comfy apartment and walk around. maybe something outside his four walls would catch his interest. it was the summer months, there was bound to be parties everywhere. though currently it would be a few more hours before the sun went down and the party people came out. he really had no set destination, but eventually found himself with some cash and by the beach. really his hands had a mind of their own. he couldn't be outside for two seconds before his fingers started working their magic and find a couple of pockets to pick. on the bright side he now had cash for some ice cream.
it was a tad convenient considering he had left his wallet behind. there were a couple of shops scattered by the beach. though in all honestly the beach wasn't his favorite place to be. it had to be his blood and memories of his mother that brought him back. he purchased two scoops of strawberry ice cream in a waffle cone and left some extra cash for the tip before making his way towards the beach. it seemed like he had arrived at a decent time. not too many people were scattered around. he sat down on a near by bench and started to eat his cold treat before it melted.
he glanced around, taking in his surroundings. there were sunbathers, some a little too red if he had to say so himself. maybe they had skimped out on the sunblock, which clearly they shouldn't of. to his right there was a volleyball game going on. glad he had chosen a decent spot away from said game. last thing he needed was to get hit with the ball or drop his ice cream.
Yuri had been thinking about his failed attempts to kill the green hair boy. There wasn't anything more frustrating then not being able to complain the one task that he desired to do. His family were apart of AP, but he never felt like he belonged here, but his brother had meant everything to him. As much as he tried, he just couldn't kill that damn vampire, but the many attempts had almost backfired on him before he managed to escape. His parents had reached out for him to come home, but he had refused to do so, this was the one thing he wanted to do without the help of his family members. Pride could be blamed for this. He slowly wandered around the city until he came across the beach, there he would walk along the shore. He didn't care to be here, or anywhere else in the city, but it helped to clear his head so he continued his walk. He wasn't paying attention to his surroundings, the only one that deserved his utter most attention was the green hair boy and seeing as he wasn't here, he was just going to keep walking as if he didn't have a care in the world.
he knew it was going to happen eventually. it was like he had predicted it. eventually those volleyballers were going to hit the ball a little to high. luckily for him he had been keeping an eye on them. though he did hear the shouting before hand. he managed to move and avoid getting hit with the ball. the person that had ended up walking at that precise moment was not so lucky.
jean finished the last of his ice cream popping the last piece of the waffle cone in his mouth. he turned so see the victim."nice catch."he said with a small chuckle. he wasn't going to deny that that was funny. he was trying hard not to laugh right in their face. he felt sorry they had been walking at that time. jean peered over the bench and saw that they were still on the ground."alright let's get you up."he told the blonde stranger. the guy still seemed dazed and confused.
a small crowd had gathered and jean stared at someone in the crowd."a little help."he said as he tried to pull up the guy. that's the last thing he needed to do, babysit some random guy. though he wasn't going to be a complete jerk and just leave him here. he had to have friends around right? or maybe he'd just dump him off at one of the offices around here."come on snap out of it."he muttered.
Yuri hadn't noticed the people shouting because he was purposely ignoring them. Somebody had been hit by the ball but he hadn't bothered to pay them any mind as he kept on walking. People had rushed passed him as to help the person that had been hit in the head up, of course since the ball had bounced away and he was headed in that direction he could hear shouts nearby him. He looked down to see that damn ball was closest to him, his goal had been to keep walking but somebody had the nerve to call him lazy when it was right there. So he came to a stop, turned around before walking back towards the ball to pick it up.
He would then withdraw a blade knife before stabbing the ball with it. Once the air was gone, he hid the knife before tossing the ball towards them, watching it stop midway because without air it cut the distance in half before once more turning away from them to walk away. There wasn't anybody he hated more then people that demanded his attention when he was busy. Thankfully, the people that had been playing volley ball had chosen to keep their distance from him. It likely was because of his blade knifes that he wore, but maybe there was another reason behind it. He wouldn't worry about it too much, he was alone and that was all that mattered. He kept walking along the shoreline, honestly expecting to keep his alone time.
he was not cut out for this. he ended up staring at people until they came over and helped. he lied and said he wasn't from around here. though honestly he had no idea what to do with the dazed man.
as the man was taken away it seemed like he was coming too. damn how hard did that ball hit him. he simply shook his head. the crowd was slowly leaving, but there was a dark haired guy that seemed to had caught the volley ball. who would of known those things were so dangerous. he stayed quiet and watched, not exactly sure what he was doing to the ball."you might want to throw it back."jean said with a shrug.
he laughed and shook his head finally understanding what he was doing."geez what that ball ever do to you?"
Yuri had ignored the Jean's suggestion. Once the ball no longer had air he had tossed it back towards the annoying group that had pestered him to pick up the ball in the first place. He had turned to leave before hearing a voice from nearby asking him a question. "It existed." He answered, walking away from Jean who had suggested for him to throw it back in the first place. If they wanted the ball back that badly they would have walked over to collect it instead of annoying him to death just because he was closer to the damn thing. Maybe coming to the beach was a bad idea.... I can't hear myself think. He thought to himself as he side stepped around people so that he would be able to pass them without stopping. He hadn't expected to be followed, if he had known he would have tried harder to ditch Jean, that he'd deem as his stalker.
man there were some interesting people around here today. jean's lips curved into a smirk before he started to laughed."that's hilarious. are you always this funny?"he asked the guy that had caught his attention. he wasn't bad looking either. jean had no shame he was always on the look out for potential meals.
jean picked up the pace, he didn't plan on losing sight of this interesting guy."what? leaving so soon?"jean had no idea why he was following this particular guy. it was more likely to see how much he could annoy him. he loved playing those little games with people. sometimes it resulted in interesting reactions. the guy looked so moody he couldn't help but laugh.
Yuri rolled his eyes when Jean made his comment about him always being this funny. He hadn't counted on Jean to follow him but since he had, he might as well try and encourage Jean to stay away from him. When Jean asked if he was leaving so soon, he had stopped, turned around to face him. "I wasn't aware that I suddenly had company. Shouldn't you continue helping that guy who got hit by the ball in the first place?" He asked, "I'm sure he'd be more welcoming on your company then I would be." He answered, trying to hint that he wanted this guy to leave him alone. It was strange having somebody following after him, he was so used to being invisible, he had gotten to his head that everybody would leave him alone but it seemed as if Jean hadn't gotten the hint. It was alright though, he would drill it through his head before leaving him once and for all. "Do you always follow after the guy that popped the ball, or am I just lucky today?" Perhaps asking that question had been a bad idea but he'd learn that the hard way.
jean loved a challenge. he couldn't help but laugh at the guy's comment."you should be more award of your surroundings."he teased him with a smirk. he kept enough space between them. he wasn't going to invade his personal space just yet. even he knew when he takes things a bit to far.
he shrugged at his next words."not my problem. besides he's fine. i think he was coming to so don't worry your pretty little head."he told him the smirk still on his lips."that may be so, but i find you much cuter than he."he told him with a wink.
he chuckled once more."only if they are as cute as you."
Yuri rolled his eyes at Jean. "Become aware that you were following me?" He asked, glaring at him. "Yeah I suppose your right." He agreed but only for the sake of trying to ditch Jean. It wasn't like he agreed so Jean could think he won or something. "I guess not, but following me has become my problem." He countered, not interested in having company. He couldn't help but blush slightly when the guy had called him cuter. Is he flirting with me? He thought to himself, unsure of his emotions right at this moment. He found himself backing away when Jean mentioned only following others if they were as cute as he was. It seemed he got his answer, though he wasn't expecting it. "There isn't anything to be gained by wasting time on me, so you might as well go back to the other guy." He answered him in return, an effort to try and push him away.
jean chuckles."are you always this easily distracted?"he was rather amazed that he had agreed with jean. he didn't seem like the type that would easily agree."oh darling, it's not a problem. i can keep up with you just fine."he said with a wink.
he smirked as he caught sight of his blush. he loved it when people blushes. they just looked so cute."i don't mind wasting time on you. i have nothing important planned for today."he said with a shrug."are you going to make me say it again? i find you more interesting. that fact that you're cute is a plus."
Yuri rolled his eyes again. "I don't normally have company, nor do I want company." He answered him back. It seemed Jean was determined to follow him around whether he liked it or not. It was going to affect him from being able to kill the green hair boy, he couldn't have witnesses. "Well isn't that just peachy...." He mumbled, stumped on how he could encourage Jean to leave him alone. "I'm not cute and I shouldn't be more interesting to you.... go find somebody else to flirt with." He snapped, turning around he started walking away from him. Of course there was still the chance of being followed but maybe this time Jean would get the hint to just not waste time on him. The sooner I have my space the sooner I can figure out a solid plan to kill that green hair boy. He murdered my brother and I want to make him pay. He thought to himself, trying to resume his earlier thoughts just before Jean started following him around.
jean shook his head."it must get pretty lonely. i can keep you company."then again jean needed to be around people to survive. feeding off peoples energy sustained his own."aren't you lucky. you get to have me all to yourself."jean grinned.
"you're right you're not cute. you're gorgeous. you have the most beautiful eyes i've ever seen."jean said leaning down to his eye level. he really did have beautiful eyes. they reminded him of the ocean."a kiss and i'll leave you alone?"jean said with a grin.
he knew it was a long shot, but hey he would have his fun and see what reaction he could get. jean walked closer to the blue eyed beauty, but stopped once his phone began to ring. looking at the caller id he shook his head, but put a smile on his lips."maybe i'll get that kiss later."he said as he watched them start to walk away.
Yuri couldn't help but struggle to keep his face expression blank because Jean was trying his hardest to make him flustered. He wasn't sure what his end game was, but he couldn't help but feel a great desire to get away from what ever the hell this emotion was that he was feeling all of a sudden. He didn't like feeling valuable like this. Once he asked for a kiss, he found himself walking away quicker. He wasn't going to kiss him, he wasn't going to feel flustered, he was going to kill that green hair boy. Once that was complete then he can focus on other normal stuff. He rolled his eyes when he heard Jean mention how he would get that kiss later. Over my dead body. He thought to himself, choosing to keep the thought to himself just in case Jean decided that he planned to hold him to his words. Once he believed he was away from Jean and the beach, he slowed down his pace. Jeez, what was his problem? Surely he was lying about me, right? He thought to himself, worried Jean was serious about that kiss later.
