Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Riqal stood 5'8" but only because he normally bends over, from doing his techno board. So normally he would stand 6' like his brother. He has short orange hair with hazel eyes, just like his brother he just has his styled with shorter spikey style than his brother.
Riqal wears an orange short-sleeved shirt with his techno artist symbol on it, with green heavy winter coat even in the summer. With tan fur on the hood, with blue jeans and green and orange sneekers. With blue tinted glasses that match his brothers. He walked into the library to meet a client, however, the client did something no one does which questioned his skills. He then put a table up in the corner of the library. He then hooked up some wires even though it was a small turntable he could do enough with it. The table started making noise making many peoples feet move to the rhythm. He was actually good at it really good. The client stood there amazed it was either that or he thought he was stupid for doing that in the library.
Riqal smiled and soon finished people all stood at awe and some whispered that he was stupid. But why he had just proved a client wrong. Sure it was a library but still, any place can be turned into a stage. He never let anyone question how good he was at his job. Thats all he had done he had stood up for his job. Then he waved his had apologizing to the ones that looked annoyed at him.
a little reply for @riqal Riqal, prepare for the scolding XD
Any other day could be spent in the library like this. Quiet, quaint, and wonderful, as Zoraya had always wanted and expected from it. The people here were gentle, and they didn't speak unless necessary. There were still conversations going on, but they were discussed in hushed voices, and when they start to go overboard they would still always take heed of Zoraya's request to keep quiet.
However, any other day in the library shouldn't be spent on a sudden young man's arrival, clad in clothes fit for a local DJ, and any other day shouldn't be spent on the sudden bickering at the far corner of the library. Something about doubting the talents of the other... Zoraya could raise an eyebrow at this. It would be nice to tell that said person to consider that people have their own talents and each one of them had no right to doubt such talents, but instead she is preparing to stand up from her seat and ask them what is going on so it could be resolved quickly.
The angel stops when the DJ-something sets up the table, plugs in the wires, and begins to play some of the noisiest music.
In the library, of all places.
People, while still sitting, start to dance to the rhythm of the music, and for a moment she starts questioning if they really do know the rules of being in the library. But finally the music stops after a few brief minutes. She turns and glares at the ginger-haired man, waving his hand and apologizing to the people.
...She starts walking again, and finally everyone keeps their mouths shut, watching fearfully at the now-seemingly annoyed librarian as she approaches the DJ.
Zoraya stops in front of the young man, crossing her arms, closing her eyes and sighing in exasperation. She then opens her blue eyes again, and glares right at his. "Uhum. Sir." She begins, tilting her head and raising an eyebrow. "You do know... that this is a library, and not a disco, right? And you also do know... that people aren't supposed to play music and are supposed to be quiet? And you also do know that what people do here is to read, not play music loudly, right?" She states, the same irritated glare still present.
"So I suggest you keep all your... DJ-ing things unless you want to be banned here. And also, no bickering."
Riqal had been putting things away as he saw the head librarian heading his way. Oh boy, I’m in trouble. ”Ya I know that sorry about that but whenever someone questions my gifts I kinda get blinded by that and sometimes forget I’m not in a place where I should Dj. But because it is a library I did select the quietest set I could choose as well as the shortest I could choose that still shows my skills at the same time. But you are right and I apologize.” Riqal then extended his had out in apology ”My name is Riqal Hickory or you can call me by my Dj/techno artist name Requiem Impulse if you would rather, and again u do apologize for the noise I even picked the corner cause i knew it would be the best part of the library to do it other parts would have resonated the sounds even louder.” Riqal then put his hand away as he finished putting packing up his stuff. He actually was quiet cute for a Dj. Riqal then noticed the client had fled ”I’m guessing he's been in trouble for too much noose before now huh. Again sorry about that. Would you like any help like putting any books away or anything like that? You know to make up for all the noise I made.

The young man in front of her begins to apologize, explaining why he'd played music in the first place, and his considerable choice of where he had set up his music because of the place. Zoraya sighs in exasperation and shakes her head. "Nowhere in this library can you play your music, mister. All we need is a little silence and no music. At all." Her thumb and finger slides to each of the corners of her mouth, and she smirks. "But I am at least glad you've finally kept your things."
Zoraya looks over at the extended hand and shakes it in turn. "Zoraya Friyar. I'm in charge of this place." He introduces himself as Riqal Hickory, even telling her his alias. "Oh no, I'd rather much prefer it if I call you Riqal, thank you very much." There was no point in calling a person such a silly nickname, after all. "Like said a while earlier, you can't play music anywhere in this library. Please."
He then asks her if there is something he can help with to make up for what he just did; the head librarian raises an eyebrow and stops on her tracks. There are a lot of books to be arranged back at the attic, she thought... maybe this would make a fine punishment for breaking one of the most vital rules in the library.
"Actually, I do have a job for you that you can help me with..." She grins, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Follow me, Mr. Hickory. We're going to the attic."
He smirked as he flowed her "very well" was simply said as he followed her after putting his stuff somewhere people wouldn't steal it. He stayed silent as he was told although it was hard for the techno artist to do. He litteritly never as a kid was able to hold still which did get him in trouble a lot so he got in the habit of asking if he could help. As he followed her he couldn't help but stair at her butt after all he was a guy. He kept looking her over as they walked thinking she's pretty cute although it didn't sound like she was a fan of music. "So what is this task you have for me?" He asked as he followed her.

The guy's only following her from behind, and it's starting to get annoying. No conversations, just a few moments of silence with each other. Also to add the fact that he'd done a great job trying to piss her off. Making noise in the library is unacceptable and people should know that; but he seems to not care about the rules. People like that annoy her to no end, but then again she mostly would not mind.
Oh. He's cute.
However, there was no time to think about such things. They make their way to the attic, shortly after she tells him there is a job to do. He then proceeds to ask her what work she has for him. Surveying her surroundings for a short while, she turns to him with a grin of a royal.
"Simple. These books over here," She taps the dusty books on the floor like an old friend, before continuing. "they need to be put to their proper place, to where their friends are. All I need you to do is arrange these books in alphabetical order." She grins again, gentle yet threatening at the same time. "Only fitting work for making noise in the library, isn't it not, Riqal?"
"Sounds fine to me I alphabtise the stuff I use for my music too. Also it's not that I didn't care that I wasn't supposed to do music in the library like I said I am sorry for that. But I also had to stand up for myself and my music, I mean if you were outside of the library and saw someone treating one of your books like it was an ordinary book not actually caring for it you would stand up to them right. Same thing as me only it's my music which is loud unlike doing that with books. I could have tried it outside however there is no electricity to do it with outside. Also at least I did it I. The part of the library that made less noise right" he smiled. He really did care and was sorry it had to happen in the library but he wasn't about to let someone put down the thing he did for a living. He agreed though that this was a good punishment. Even though he had done the right thing by standing up for himself he also knew he was in the wrong for breaking the rules.
He then started doing the work she told him to do while treating the books carefully and making sure to dust them as well. There were a lot and he was having to learn were they went but for someone who doesn't spend a whole lot of time in the library he was actually doing it in pretty good time. Within 2 hours he was done since their had been a lot of books. "Well how does it look?" He asked not noticing how dirty his glasses or clothes were from all the dust. @zory

Riqal seems to take the punishment lightly, and Zoraya is glad he does. There are no signs of complaining and objection in his face, and he starts to work immediately. Zoraya starts dusting a few books stacked around the corner with a dust wiper, before stacking them again next to Riqal so he can arrange them later. She is silent while working, but after a while the silence is perturbed when Riqal starts explaining himself.
For some reason, she finds it reasonable, yet also unreasonable at the same time. Sure, standing up to his music is fine, but doing that while breaking the rules is never going to be alright. He even sets her and her books as an example, which makes her raise an eyebrow. Books are ordinary, aren't they? They take you to worlds you never know, but it wasn't to say they're literally magical and would be worth defending a right for.
"...That doesn't make any sense." She states, proceeding to dust more of the books on the floor. "I mean, books are just ordinary things. I love books, they're an important part of me, but it wasn't to say I would be defending them if some person tells them they're ordinary, because they are. To me, fighting about it is only going to be a waste of time."
Within two hours, she is done and so is Riqal. His work is splendid, she thought, looking around the attic where the books are arranged neat and tight. She nods and walks over to a small door, in front of the one they had gone through a while earlier. "Good work. But we're not done yet." She grins, and leaves the door open for him to enter through. "Now we must have some tea."
Riqual was quite most of the time while they were working. Just the soft gentle sound of his breathing could be heard as they were working. As soon as it was done he stood up and dusted himself off, "Ok well what if someone was tearing pages out of the books and other things, would you just let them do that or would you stand up to them for it?" He said as if it was comepletely rashonal to him. "I mean if you really care about something you wont just let someone do whatever they want to it right?" he asked.
He looked down at his clothes noticing they were still really dirty and his hands were pretty dirty too. "First i should wash up before having tea" he smiled. As he went to the bathroom to clean up soon he came back out. He couldnt help but again think how beautiful she was. "You know you really are pretty cute" he said. He then would sit down at one of the tables, taking out a notebook to write some new music as he would wait for her.
Zoraya would be lying if she were to say she did not like Riqal's company. The young man had broken the rules of the library, playing music although it was common sense for people to know that it was strictly forbidden... but he takes punishment as if it were only a simple challenge to test him. Not once does she hear him complain about lifting books and arranging them in the correct shelves; he only works silently, only talking to her about important things and the philosophy behind standing up for those you love. In a way, he was the exact opposite of Kaylie, and that's why she likes the differences between them both.
For some strange reason, he also reminds her of her former lover, who had died of a sniper shooting him on the head. He loved to talk about his beliefs, and Zoraya loves listening to him speaking of them. Not once did Zoraya complain to him about her lover talking too much; she loved to hear his voice, passionate about what he believes to be true, and what he believes to be false. Riqal seems to garner the same reaction from her, although this is not evident to him; she's smiling while her back is turned from him while he talks and asks her questions.
"Oh my, if that were the case then for sure I'd act differently," She answers another question from him, still smiling. "Tearing off the pages of a book is simply disrespectful. If people treat a book that way, then there is a possibility that they will treat other people that way, too." She faces the DJ and presents him with a small smile, an almost... sad one. "That's why, you are correct in saying I would stand up to anything that is treated badly."
The angel finishes the tea and pours in two cups, hearing his statement of washing himself first. "Oh yes, please do. There's a bathroom right there if you want to use it. I don't want you to reek of sweat while enjoying tea." She giggles after this statement, setting the two cups of tea on the small table she had just wiped off. Hearing his compliment, a shade of pink rushes through her cheeks, and she raises an eyebrow almost suspiciously with a smirk. "Thank you... I guess." In her mind she thinks he's probably done this to lots of other girls, so she lets it slip for a moment unless he truly means it.
“You probably think I say that to all the girls, well you would be wrong” he smiled as he went and washed his hands. Then came back and sat next to her taking the tea sipping it “this is good but have you tried milk tea” he smiled. Not that he had tried that before but he heard it was good. “But this is a beautiful library “ he smiled. He sat listening to the silence in the library as he smelled the books the dust he actually loved the smell he just wasn’t used to being in quiet places. @zoraya
a little reply for @riqal i'm sorry for this lateness ;o;
As she sits on the little red cushion situated just beside the table, she chuckles at Riqal's words. "Say what to other girls?" She asks, taking her cup of coffee and taking a sip on it. Of course she knows. She would like to think of ignoring the little butterflies that seem to flutter in her stomach after having heard that little compliment, though she couldn't, and has chosen to address this to him now. "I jest, I jest. Well... I guess that's nice. It's not like I've gotten compliments like this before."
He compliments the tea, and it makes her face red all of a sudden; she is about to thank him when he immediately asks her if she'd ever tried milk tea, as well. She nods, keeping silent for a moment as she remembers the taste of the beverage mentioned. "Yes I have. The mere thought of it is so relaxing, honestly." She responds, taking a sip of her tea. "And thank you for the compliment. I never knew my tea tastes nice... Kaylie always complains about it." She chuckles at the memory of the younger woman reacting to her tea.
Riqal then compliments the library and tells her it is beautiful. "Yes, it is. Thank you." She sips on her tea again, and a little thought crosses her mind. "Wait, the library, or this part of the library? Because I'm pretty sure this place is too dusty and dark to be considered beautiful." She chuckles, the loudest she may have done so, but it's faint enough not to cross the other room.
