Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

The weather was pleasantly warm despite the lack of breeze drifting through the air of Lorsette. Clouds were few, suggesting for an excellent evening spent at the Festival of Lanterns that began a few days after summer break began. While the festival was a yearly occasion, the lich still found the event enjoyable, bringing the desire to attend the wondrous lantern display. There was a grin permanently etched onto Zuriel's face while he gleefully prepared himself for the date between himself and his boyfriend, Xander. An evening spent under the stars while lights were gently thrown in the air sounded like something out of a fairytale which increased Zuriel's desire to attend. The Assembly medic was aware of the risks that followed participating in the prestigious festival, his wishes for a romantic situation between his boyfriend and himself fueled the need for the risk. Thankfully, the lich remained cautious and kept his identity as an Assembly member hidden from the TRS alongside the RCMP in order to possess these types of moments with his precious Xander.
[break][break]
The broad grin was evident as Zuriel glances over himself in the mirror, making certain his attire was adequate for his boyfriend; he wanted to hold his attention entirely tonight! There was a meticulous determination as the lich fidgetted with the cuffs of his blue jacket. Beneath his jacket he wore a white dress shirt with a black sweater vest; he prayed it was formal enough to impress his beautiful Xander. His pants were simple grey dress pants, something merely chosen since the colour suited the desired outcome. Around his neck was a warm, dark grey scarf that the boy consistently wore because of his problems with colder temperatures. A temperature regulation pendant was hidden beneath his shirt, but the lich was keen on being cautious for the sake of his boyfriend. The last desire that Zuriel held was forcing Xander to miss the enjoyment of the festival because he was suddenly feeling immensely cold from the night air.
[break][break]
Once the initial pieces of clothing done being tampered with, Zuriel stared at himself for a few moments in the mirror. The black hair that covered his head remained properly groomed and his pale skin freshly washed. Carefully, Zuriel grabbed the black rimmed glasses, setting them comfortably onto his face. On most occasions, he preferred contact lenses, but today his mood had shifted to spectacles instead. There were a few moments taken to make certain his cologne was perfect, the lich desiring for his deathly scent to not bother his lover. Satisfaction settled onto the medic's face as he stared at his reflection after the completion of his attire. Slowly, he turned from the sink and departed from the mirror to open the bathroom door and search for his significant other. After exiting the washroom, his mind began delving into darker concepts as the lich wondered what he would do if he was there.
[break][break]
Despite the years that progressed after his grisly death, Zuriel still held an extreme fear of his murderer. The man was elusive, easily avoiding capture from the RCMP. Then again, the lich's insistence that he remained unaware of the medic's identity assisted him in the situation. Although, he suppose it was the result of his new disdain over the Canadian justice system. The criminal would merely receive multiple life sentences, but there would be no justifiable punishment for his abhorrent crimes. No death would befall the man who tied him to a chair and tortured him for what felt like hours, healing him only to recommence the intense pain. The memories made Zuriel shiver as he pushed them away before returning to the bedroom, his eyes glancing around.
[break][break]
"Xander, are you ready?" Zuriel called. "We can probably be there prior to the lanterns should we leave shortly."
[break][break]
Despite the sophistication evident in the lich's words, there a childish excitement hidden in his forest green eyes. A wonderful night spent alongside his boyfriend easily brought the playful side out. While most occasions he would remain calm and quiet, the opportunity to spend time with Xander transformed him into a cheerful man. Smiles felt like forever when he was around his boyfriend, thus Zuriel's excitement continued rising.

The Festival of Lanterns, they made a habit of going every year. The very first time, Xander had to be encouraged by Zuriel, it had been super fun and ever since that day he had been counting the days down until it was time again this year. He had showered earlier this morning, already in his formal attire for the evening. Zuriel was in the bathroom, he would wait, sitting on the edge of the bed. Normally he was all for wearing hats everywhere but since it was a date, he would leave it at home. Besides it would be a nice change from Zuriel always getting stuck seeing him wear a hat all over the place. Once Zuriel had come out of the bathroom, he stood from the bed. "Almost." He walked into the bathroom to quickly brush his hair, not that he was bothered by it being messy but that was the wind's job. He would then leave the bathroom, already having his wallet, keys, and phone on him.
"Ready." He answered, slowly reaching out to take Zuriel's hand in his own. He found himself looking over Zuriel's appearance. Slightly disappointed that he felt a great need to dress up by so much, though it was highly possible it would be freezing, he was jealous that the extra clothes got to keep his Zuriel warm, when he would have like the honor all for himself. "You look so handsome." He commented, wanting to butter up his Zuriel, prior to them going to the Festival of Lanterns. He was grateful that neither of them were well known to the TRS, though he was guilty of hacking and being an informant, the only one who knew about him was Brasti. So far his brother hadn't snitched on him yet, so hopefully he would have the chance to surpass him and later kill him so that the chance would never arise. Assuming Zuriel allowed him to lock hands with him, he would hug his arm with his other hand, loving the closeness. Besides, Zuriel wasn't likely to get cold right now, if anything, possibly become to warm. The thought had given him an idea and he planned on teasing Zuriel with it later.
If being warm is what Zuriel wanted and needed, he would make him feel extra special tonight. A small smile had formed onto his face as his evil plan had gone into motion. For now he would play innocent, so that later when he hugged Zuriel, it would be a surprise. "Shall we head out?" He asked, waiting to see if Zuriel was really ready before heading towards the door. Once they got there, he would reach out to open it for Zuriel so that he could exit first before closing the door behind them. Once the door was locked he would move his hand back against Zuriel's arm to resume his cuddling as they strolled to the location of Festival of Lanterns.
The annual date was always incredible for Zuriel, his persistence in convincing Xander to attend the first time proving to create an enjoyable yearly experience. Whenever the date arrived, excitement filled the air with the concept of enjoying the Festival of Lanterns. The door was pushed open slowly, the lich gleefully listening to the pleasant voice of his dear Xander. A smile stretched across the medic's face as he entered their bedroom, his blue eyes resting on his demon boyfriend. The beautiful shape of his body accompanied by the wonderful attire he chose for the evening. Mere witnessing the man brought a smile onto the lich's face, his eyes following the divine form as he entered the washroom to complete his preparations. While Xander entered the washroom, Zuriel walked around the bedroom gathering the items he always brought along. His cell phone and wallet were stationed on his bedside table, the lich grabbing each and placing them into separate pockets.
[break][break]
Afterwards, his eyes returned to the bathroom door, Zuriel walking forward to sit at the foot of the bed. There was a grin plastered onto his face as he waited for his spectacular boyfriend to exit the washroom. A softness touched the lich's eyes as a sigh of pleasure escaped his lips over Xander's appearance; he was always beautiful. The offering of Xander's hand made his smile broaden, Zuriel gently placing his hand in his boyfriend's while he stood from the bed. The opportunity to spend the evening with this wonderful demon was already making the lich's heart soar. Palpitations became frequent as his heart began beating faster from the mere touch of his hand. There was a moment taken to glance over Xander again, a larger smile settling onto his face when he noticed the freshly groomed hair and the absence of Xander's hat; was this occasion now that special? The concept warmed Zuriel's heart to witness, the small things his boyfriend did for him always feeling special in his eyes.
[break][break]
The compliment arrived, blood rushing to the lich's cheeks, turning them a shade of red as he glanced away. Flattery from Xander was easily appreciated for Zuriel, always managing to make him bashful. After a few moments of quiet breathing, his eyes drifted towards Xander's face.
[break][break]
"And you look as beautiful as a sunset settling across the ocean, my love," Zuriel complimented back. "You make me so happy, Xander. I'm really excited to spend the evening with you again."
[break][break]
The locking of hands was followed by Xander hugging his arm, the gesture appreciated by the lich considering the coldness that plagued his life. The closeness to his boyfriend was easily addicting, Zuriel never finding himself capable of registering a complaint; he could even gain the faintest scent of Xander's cologne at this range. He remained unaware of the secret plans his boyfriend held, an innocent smile remaining on Zuriel's face. When the question about heading out was given, Zuriel provided a nod, following his boyfriend towards the door. They approached the door, Xander displaying a gentlemanly kindness by opening it for him, resulting in a smile stretching across Zuriel's face while he exited. Patiently, the lich waited for Xander to lock the door. Once completed, they continued on their stroll, the medic's happiness increasing when he felt his boyfriend resume cuddling his arm.
[break][break]
They strolled down the streets which gradually changed to dirt roads that weaved through the Calico Forest and towards the location of the Festival of Lanterns. Leaves waves from their branches as a gentle breeze flowed through the mighty trees that reached towards the sky.
[break][break]
"I'm so excited, everything will be so beautiful and I get to spend it with the best boyfriend ever," Zuriel said softly, using the opportunity to compliment Xander.
[break][break]
The medic's blue eyes glanced around the forest, merriment touching his features as they gradually grew closer. Lanterns hung from the trees, pouring soft light onto the dirt pathway. Ahead, breaking through the trees was a larger display of lights from the booths that illuminated the festival; they were getting closer.

Xander couldn't help but feel his cheeks going warm as they went red from being flustered. "You make me happy too, Zuriel." He was excited that he'd get the chance to spend this evening with his Zuriel once again, nothing could make him happier. He felt like he could melt, happiness was apparent as Zuriel allowed them to hold hands, giving him the chance to cuddle his boy friend's arm. Though he had to pull away to open the door and lock it, he was overjoyed to resume holding hands and cuddling Zuriel's arm as they strolled down the streets. Once more he blushed when Zuriel complimented him. "I'm excited too." A small smile appeared on his lips, "Though I must correct you, your the best boy friend." Oh how he wished they were more than that, but the time would come when he would get on one knee and ask his dearly Zuriel to make him the happiness man alive by joining his hand in marriage.
Seeing the Lanterns hung from the trees gave him happiness as he knew it wouldn't be much longer until they were there. I will ask you to marry me soon, my lovely Zuriel. I only ask that you wait a little bit longer until I find your murderer and end their life for harming and killing you. You shall never have such a cruel fate ever again. He thought to himself, having two wishes in the world. The first being that he would remain with Zuriel until the end of their days, the other being, the one who killed Zuriel dying by his hands. Of course neither had been mentioned to Zuriel, the first being a surprise, the other, the last thing he wanted was to run the risk of upsetting Zuriel.
There was a faint tint of red across Zuriel's pale cheeks when Xander provided him with another compliment; trading the mentioning of being happy alongside him. Immediately, there was a fluttering within the lich's chest as joy coursed through his veins. The intense affection he harboured for Xander kept him close, the deep desire for personal time together elevating with the trading of compliments. Bashfully, Zuriel's eyes flitted towards his boyfriend, noticing the blush that consumed his precious Xander's cheeks from his comment. A gentle laugh of endearment escaped Zuriel's throat, the sight warming his heart and generating more excitement for his evening with Xander. Hearing about their mutual happiness always made the lich's heart flutter, reminding him of the life he was fortunate to return to. Despite the haunting memories of death that occasionally gripped him, everything felt worth the trouble as long as he could stand beside his boyfriend; Xander made everything better for him. The demon who for years was a quiet observer, protecting him had stolen his heart the instant his forest green eyes noticed.
[break][break]
The entire walk towards the festival proceeded at a pleasant pace, Zuriel attempting to drag out their splendid stroll down the lantern-lit path. Perfection; his boyfriend was hugging his arm, creating a pleasant warmth while they travelled through the slightly lit forest. The soothing brustling of the trees above faded as the soft music played on festival grounds managed to reach Zuriel's ears. For a moment, the lich fixated on the music until his concentration was broken by the beautiful words of his wonderful Xander. Another faint hint of blushed touched his cheeks, turning them a slight rose colour while his heart palpitated.
[break][break]
"I'm glad you are. I am always excited about the festival, you know? To walk through the forest like this then enjoy some games before all the lights go out and the lanterns are sent into the air," Zuriel said, vaguely reminiscing over past experiences at the festival.
[break][break]
There were ten years of dating between himself and Xander, the years slowly ticking upwards as they continued their extended dating spree. The dates were pleasant, the undying romance and affection between the pair wonderful, but there was always a thought taken towards that day. Marriage, it was a concept Zuriel played with while writing his poems for the endearing demon. There were always mental questions wondering when they would slow down and decide the time was right to exchange their vows of love. Despite the numerous orbiting thoughts, the lich remained tight-lipped on the subject considering he always remained uncertain for when they could settle to plan a wedding. Gradually, the forest began thinning away as the couple drew closer to Cattail Lake. They broke through the treeline from the dirt path, the light fully enveloping the clearing where food and game stalls stationed themselves.
[break][break]
Citizens were conversing while children gleefully ran through the clearing, playing their own games of make-believe before they would get wrangled to witness the lantern send off. Countenances of happiness remained evident on the faces of numerous Lorsette civilians as they entertained themselves at the numerous booths. A broad grin stretched across the lich's face as his eyes flitted around the scene before looking towards Xander.
[break][break]
"What should we do first?" Zuriel inquired.
[break][break]
Patiently, the medic waited for his boyfriend to provide an answer; he enjoyed giving Xander the first pick. There was a gleam of excitement within Zuriel's eyes while he beamed at the demon. The Festival of Lanterns had arrived, which meant their yearly date would commence; it was already bringing an intense joy to the lich. These were always his favourite dates considering the jovial entertainment he could enjoy with his boyfriend.

Xander couldn't help but smile when Zuriel mentioned always being excited about the festival. He felt the same exact way, though it was perfect only with Zuriel by his side. "Yes." He nodded his head in agreement. "Though the best part is spending this time with you." As they walked, he listened to the music as they drew near, excited to be here. It was hard to ignore the citizens when they arrived, but he found himself staring at the children, desiring some for their own, but first he would have to ask Zuriel to marry him. He found himself staring at the children just a little bit longer before looking once more in front of them as he walked along side Zuriel. He was pulled from his thoughts, "We should..." He pauses, about to speak his thoughts of wanting marriage. "I mean..." He coughs, not wanting to leave that sentence hanging in the air.
"I think games sound like fun." He answered, hoping Zuriel would think his mistaken choice of words to have been on purpose. That was close... I really need to buy the ring and plan this out first.... though, this would have been the perfect place to propose to him. He thought to himself, slowly forcing himself to remain calm so that he wouldn't possibly cause worry for Zuriel. He kept a hold on Zuriel's arm, clinging to it for dear life, moving closer to him he whispered. "I want to be with you forever." He then buried his face in Zuriel's shoulder, finding his cheeks to be rather warm from embarrassment. I love you so much Zuriel. May you say yes when the day comes that I ask for your hand in marriage. He thought to himself, enjoying the small hints that seemed to appear when he shared his feelings with his wonderful boy friend.
There was a broad grin across Zuriel's face while he continued strolling along with Xander clinging to his arm. The radiating warmth and wondrous company kept the lich's heart fluttering as he continued walking. These dates were the highlights of Zuriel's years, his magnificent boyfriend creating marvellous events that made his heart melt. Being around this incredible man made his days brighter, increasing his wishes to one day marry his darling lover. The flirtatious compliment provided by Xander resulted in a tint of red touching his pale cheeks. Music surrounded them, Zuriel feeling dazzled by the compliments and visual appeal of the festival. The medic eyes flitted around the area, returning to his boyfriend, noticing his eyes staring at the scuttling children. When Xander began speaking, Zuriel's heart fluttered with a hope that he would hear the words he always wanted to hear. The initial words were spoken, Xander coughing until continuing to speak about the games.
[break][break]
"O-oh! Yes, games..." He sheepishly laughed afterwards, face slightly flushed. "W-which game, love?"
[break][break]
There was mild disappointment from the lack of commenting towards marriage and perhaps even children. The idea of adopting children with his boyfriend made his heart flutter with intense joy. Settling down in a quiet neighbourhood to raise their own kids sounded like a fabulous life; one where wedding bands bound them together. Slowly, the lich moved, being absorbed in each movement as a grin remained permanently plastered onto his face. There was joy in Xander clinging to his arm, the whisper making Zuriel's cheeks return to a faint red, melting his heart as Zuriel buried his face into his shoulder.
[break][break]
"I... I want to be with you forever too," he responded shyly.
[break][break]
When the date arrived that he would marry his wonderful Xander, he planned to state 'yes' immediately; how could he deny his wonderful boyfriend? He melted into Xander's grip, grinning while he walked with his boyfriend towards the various festival games.
[attr="class","nameLyrics"]somebody save me from this fearful torment.
Xander wasn't sure of which game they should play, oh how he wanted Zuriel to pick. Just being here with Zuriel made him happy, he didn't need to pick the game too, not unless Zuriel didn't know either. When it seemed like they didn't have an idea of which game to play, he had thought of something else that he wanted to do with Zuriel, surely he wouldn't expect such a thing either. "Though there are plenty of games here to play." He whispered, "I'd love to play a different one with you." He kept whispering, a small smirk on his lips. "How about I ask you a question and you answer before asking one in return?" He asked, unsure of what he would name this game as, having thought twenty-one questions would be cute, but he knew he'd go beyond that many questions in no time. Perhaps the endless game would be the better name for it. He would wait to hear Zuriel's answer, hoping he would choose to play along with him. Of course he could have chosen to suggest this game just about anywhere, but, why not here too?
He would follow Zuriel anywhere, to the ends of the world if that is what Zuriel wanted from him. Of course the other desired would be to surpass his brother and later end him. Not that the day would ever come, but as it currently stood, as much as he tried avoiding his brother, the man always managed to find him with such perfect timing. Hopefully not today, not when he was with his wonderful Zuriel. Did I turn my phone off? I should have turned it off.... He reached into his pocket, finding his cell phone he pressed the power button, waiting until he believed it was turned off. He would then pull it out of his pocket slightly, testing it to make sure it was off before shoving it back into his pocket to ignore it for the rest of the night. He better not text my wonderful Zuriel, or so help me. He thought to himself, trying to focus on Zuriel instead of his brother.
Their time captivated in the Festival of Lanterns was always magnificent, Zuriel's eyes flitting around at the light radiating from the adorable paper lanterns. Patterns were etched onto their delicate bodies, the flame hidden inside making the paper appear fluorescent, displaying the brilliant artistry. Despite the general appeal of the decorated booths around them, the lich found his eyes constantly returning to his boyfriend, a smile lighting his face each time. There was nothing more sublime than his wonderful Xander who captured his undying attention daily.
[break][break]
Slowly, the medic's eyes surveyed the game booths, seeking an enjoyable activity that he and his boyfriend could participate in. When his boyfriend began whispering to him, Zuriel's eyes immediately flitted towards him, completing fixating on the man he adored immensely. The game suggested by the incredible man he devoted himself to caused a slight blush to surface on the medic's face as he smiled broadly at his boyfriend. The suggested game sounded wonderful.
[break][break]
A question exchanging game, which suggested learning about one another through an enjoyable experience. There were also vague thoughts of this perhaps being a clever way devised by Xander to ask about his hand in marriage; the festival always dragged the romantic side. The thoughts warmed the lich's heart as he imagined the divine occasion that could be created from a mere game.
[break][break]
"Sounds excellent!" Zuriel exclaimed, louder than intended.
[break][break]
There was a faint hint of red that touched the medic's cheeks in embarrassment as he sheepishly smiled up towards his boyfriend. The concept of exchanging adorable inquiries with each other throughout the evening sounded like a marvellous way to enjoy the Festival of Lanterns. The longer Zuriel spent with Xander, the more his wish became confirmed, his desires revolving around his lover. There had been a few years where he would write about marriage on his piece of paper before tying it to the lantern and lifting up into the air, hiding the message from his boyfriend; he even went lengths of writing the message in a different language every year.
[break][break]
While he adored Xander immensely, the lich wanted to avoid overstepping his boundaries and silent prayers were not doing that, right? There was patience as Zuriel waited for his boyfriend to commence their private game, his forest eyes watching Xander as he doubled checked his phone. Obviously, his beloved was avoiding interference from his infuriating brother, Brasti, a TRS agent who would jovially hack Xander's numerous devices.
[break][break]
"We're safe from... you know who, right?" Zuriel asked, concern touching his face.
[break][break]
Whenever Brasti bothered his precious Xander, he would get infuriated because of the troublesome attitude he displayed. This evening was their significant date night and Zuriel desired to avoid any interruptions.
[attr="class","nameLyrics"]somebody save me from this fearful torment.
Xander smiled when Zuriel agreed to playing the game he had suggested. Thoughts started to process through his mind as he debated on what he would ask Zuriel first. Oh how he wished the first question would be asking for Zuriel's hand in marriage but first he wanted to wait for the perfect moment to do so. It was only a matter of time before he would get on one knee to ask him. He was pulled from his thoughts when Zuriel had asked him if they were safe from his brother. He slowly let go of his arm to press his hands against Zuriel's shoulders, having moved in front of him. "You'll always be safe from him." He looked at him with a small smile on his face.
"However, he still might text." He had a feeling Zuriel was talking about possible contact from Brasti but he wanted to make sure that he was reminded that he would do everything in his power to keep him safe. Which meant killing the person who murdered his love before asking for Zuriel's hand in marriage. He would rub Zuriel's shoulders, "What did you first think when you met me?" He was curious about Zuriel's emotions when he found out that he had been there, had he been scared, pleased? Of course that would only be the start of his flowing questions. They would exchange questions after answering them. Oh Zuriel, if I fail to kill that person, please accept my marriage proposal anyway.... Wait, what am I thinking? I won't fail to kill him. Zuriel will be safe once and for all. He thought to himself, feeling determined.
There remained a broad smile stretched across Zuriel's face in excitement for the game he would participate in with Xander, the underlying threat of his boyfriend's brother lacking the ability to thoroughly damper the mood. Everything was absolutely divine as long as this incredible demon remained in his company. The forest green eyes of the lich returned to Xander, grin broadening when his boyfriend firmly placed his hands on his shoulders and insisted his safety.
[break][break]
There was always reassurance in the demon's voice to Zuriel, the lich relaxing as he continued to stare up at Xander's beautiful face. He loved this man immensely, the medic jovial over the good fortune he received. While his death was gruesome, he was lucky enough to receive an attractive, caring and supportive boyfriend who loyally remained beside him. The lich always hoped that Xander found him adequate boyfriend material; handling the notion of Xander leaving him would be impossible, especially if he dated another individual.
[break][break]
Hastily, he reached out, attempting to wrap his arms around Xander. A broad grin remained across his face, Zuriel happy to listen to the reassuring words of his boyfriend.
[break][break]
"I hope you are right. This is an important occasion after all," he responded. "Let's hope it is only texts."
[break][break]
While Zuriel only associated with Brasti for brief moments, the enraged attitude that Xander developed whenever he was around his heinous brother, alongside the TRS affiliation, was enough for the lich to immediately presume he was a horrible individual. Those dastardly servants of the government never arrested that frightening medic who managed to torture, thus they deserved the cold bane of death! Shortly, the game began, Zuriel becoming excited to listen to the questions his boyfriend would provide, the initial one bringing an endearing grin to his face.
[break][break]
"Well... I could not believe someone so handsome was following me around for all these years. Then, when I looked at your face, I knew there was something special between us. Meeting you was probably the best day of my life," Zuriel responded, joy touching his voice.
[break][break]
Reminiscing over meeting his boyfriend was always enjoyable, a softness crawling onto Zuriel's countenance as he stared up towards Xander's face. The presence that followed and protected him proved to exist, the hasty sparking of their connection being noticed by the lich that evening. Those days were the innocent days, where his hours were spent attempting to create poems to properly convey his emotions and spending time with his parents. There was a mild clouding to the medic's eyes as he avoided eye contact for a few moments, the thoughts of his parents bringing a painful sorrow.
[break][break]
Once again, he attempted to reach to bring Xander close to him, planning to hide his face in the demon's chest; it was a comforting location whenever he managed to upset himself with those thoughts. A few extensive breaths passed before Zuriel managed to think of a question in return for his precious boyfriend.
[break][break]
"How long were you following me for before you revealed yourself?" He asked quietly, the thought always lingering in his mind.
[break][break]
Since his childhood years, Zuriel was always adamant about somebody following him, which he presumed would be Xander. Naturally, remembering every detail of his childhood was impossible, resulting in a curiosity towards how long his boyfriend had devoted himself to following behind; a silent, protective shadow.
[attr="class","nameLyrics"]somebody save me from this fearful torment.
Xander smiled when Zuriel wrapped his arms around him, "Oh nooooo, even texts from his are banned." He announced, refusing to let Brasti bother them tonight. He leaned closer, "It is a very important occasion." He agreed, feeling calmer being closer to Zuriel. After asking Zuriel's question, he waited to hear his answer, blushing when Zuriel called his handsome. "It was the best day of my life too." He answered, knowing it wasn't apart of the question but wanted to say it anyway. The most important person in his life was Zuriel and it was never going to change. When Zuriel had looked away from him, he remained silent, not wishing to bother him but curious on why Zuriel was so sad. It seemed to him that it was likely about death but whether it was about his death or his parents was unclear. When Zuriel pulled him closer, he inched closer to close the distance between them, patting Zuriel on the back to try and comfort him.
When Zuriel had returned the question he couldn't help but blush. "While you were a child..." Yes, he had figured out who his soulmate was shortly after he had been born, but he kept his distance, not wanting to get involved in the families lives. He hadn't meant to be noticed by Zuriel but when he had called out, he wouldn't lie, it had been the best day of his life. For once, he would be allowed to talk with him instead of remaining in the shadows as he promised himself he would do. He held Zuriel close, not wanting to let go ever. "Zuriel, do you want kids with me?" He whispered, curious on his answer. Of course having kids would have to wait until after he killed the murderer of Zuriel but it didn't change the fact that he desired to know the question. Hoping it would give Zuriel somewhat of a hint that he was interested in marriage. Not that he had popped the question but it had been on his mind the whole time. Perhaps once I find out who killed him, I'll ask so that I can make sure to end that person before I go down the isle with him, assuming Zuriel would like to marry me.
There was a wide grin across Zuriel's lips as he softly giggled at the sudden announcement his boyfriend made. A private night between them without any interruptions during their wonderful evening. Being able to spend a quiet evening with Xander was always magnificent, but felt rare from the pile of text messages and hacking threats his brother sent. While it did possess undertones of playful teasing on occasion, it nonetheless resulted in the demon becoming immensely agitated from the attitude his brother displayed constantly. Fortunately, it appeared this evening, Xander was adamant about keeping Brasti away so they could enjoy the sublime surroundings of the festival in peace.
[break][break]
The statement of the night is an important occasion broadened the smile on Zuriel's lips, his heart melting to the concept of dates being this significant to Xander. The shared opinions on their first meeting resulted in a blush touching Zuriel's usually pale cheeks. Heat rushed towards his face, only remaining until the darker thoughts took centre stage, grabbing him and making the pit of his stomach ridden with uncomfortable aches.

Hastily, Zuriel wrapped his arms around Xander, burying his face comfortably in the demon's chest, listening to the soothing rhythms of his heart. The feeling of his boyfriend's hand softly patting his back continued to comfort the lich as he spared a moment to silently compose himself. A fragile smile touched his face when Xander spoke about following him since he was a child, the medic finally straightened his posture and gazed up at his lover. The red touching his boyfriend's face resulted in the smile strengthening as he squeezed Xander's waist affectionately.

When the following question was stated, the lich's eyes flitted towards his boyfriend in complete shock as blush engulfed his face. There was a fluttering in his heart while he stared, his smile growing. These were the types of questions that Xander would ask him during dreams; mind you, those would immediately cut to their adorable children running around the yard gleefully while he watched from the patio.
[break][break]
"Xander... I would be honoured to have kids with you," he murmured bashfully. "How many kids would we have together?"
[break][break]
The lich always fancied the concept of raising a family with Xander once they married, and merely being inquired about children made his evening brighter. Even if his boyfriend did not ask for his hand tonight, Zuriel had high hopes for the future.

Xander found Zuriel's giggle adorable and calming. He couldn't help but feel pleased when Zuriel's smile on become broadened. It was nice to know that despite their hard times he was still able to comfort his Zuriel. I will find your murderer and I will kill them. I promise.... then I'll ask for your hand in marriage.... I need to hurry, I'm growing impatient with waiting.... He kept his feelings to himself, not wishing to give away the desires of his heart just yet. Though with Zuriel leaning against his chest, he likely could hear his heart beating just slightly faster as his thoughts took over. He couldn't hold back his smile when Zuriel said that he would be honored to raise kids with him before asking him how many they would have. "As many as you want." He whispered, "But I think we should raise only three at a time...." He wanted an idea of how many children Zuriel wanted with him, but he wouldn't put a limit down between them.
The amount of children they'd have would be as many as Zuriel wanted. His heart skipped a beat as once more he thought about marriage, it seemed like it would be best for them to get married before adopting children. With a breath, he stared at Zuriel. "I love you." He whispered, feeling his face go pink from embarrassment. Marriage, it was more than just being together forever. It was an declaration that nobody else could have us.... because only want to be with each other. A ring, a fun token to surprise each other gifts.... I already have Zuriel.... is it really fair to make him wait until the person is dead? No.... but I want to surprise him... I don't know how long I can wait to ask however... though for me to ask him right now I'd be putting his life at risk. He pulled himself out of his thoughts, refusing to spend the evening in his thoughts when he would much rather be staring at Zuriel instead.
"Mine......." He whispered, attempting to lean against Zuriel to hug him. "Is it selfish that I want to know what you wish for?" He asked, giving Zuriel the chance to tell him, curious on the answer that his boy friend would be giving him. I need to ask him to marry me....... I'm wasting time...... Why is it so hard to find the perfect moment?
Enveloped in the warmth of his boyfriend's arms during the Festival of Lanterns appeared to be a magnificent day to spend his evening. There was a tight grip maintained around Xander, Zuriel snuggling into the demon's chest while a broad grin continued to touch his face. In this position, he could hear his lover's heart rate accelerate slightly, the lich enjoying the noise since it signalled a slight fluster and pleasure being created from the close proximity. A soft laugh escaped the medic's mouth as he continued cuddling Xander, caring little about the prying eyes around them; everybody needed to be aware Xander was his anyways.
[break][break]
Even the slightest of flirtatious comments made towards his boyfriend by another individual was enough seething with hatred to the person who dared to try and take his Xander. They had been dating for years, thus Zuriel found it aggravating when somebody sauntered up and started making flirtatious remarks towards his boyfriend, although, the lich knew his lover would never fall for their meaningless comments. Despite this, avoiding a situation where the lich was placed in a position of jealousy was always better than causing his blood to boil.
[break][break]
The whispered comment Xander provided in regards to how many children they would face brought a deep red blush to Zuriel's face as he glanced up, gazing into his boyfriend's enchanting purple eyes. Hearing those words made the lich's heart warm, his body melting into the hug. Even if it would only be three children at a time, Zuriel was immensely excited for when the time arrived for them to adopt.
[break][break]
"I like that idea," he murmured softly. "And they will all be happy and healthy, right?"
[break][break]
While Zuriel was aware that having numerous children would make it unlikely for all to maintain happiness and perfect health, he desired for Xander to state his fantasy was true. Merely hearing the words provided comfort for when they would start raising and expanding their family. The whisper brought a broadened smile to Zuriel's face as he continued embracing Xander.
[break][break]
"I love you too," he whispered back.
[break][break]
There was nobody else he could love more, but his darling boyfriend who supported him daily. When Xander claimed him as his and his arms wrapped around him, the lich blushed immensely. Once captured in the embrace, Zuriel was hasty to hide his face into Xander's chest. There was a broad smile on his cheeks while the medic hid in blush, finding the situation absolutely perfect. The question towards his wish caught the lich by surprise as he continued hiding his face; how could he inform Xander that he wished to marry him? He loved his boyfriend greatly but still feared to overstep his boundaries.
[break][break]
"Oh... I... uh... Just wish for us to be happy and healthy together," Zuriel lied with a sheepish grin.
[break][break]
Under normal circumstances, Zuriel would never lie to his Xander, but he desired to keep his wish a secret; perhaps as a special story for when they were married. Currently, he was concerned about the demon possibly rejecting the idea despite something telling him otherwise.
