Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Sonya looked out into the empty street, most people that had been there either were dead or scattered to the wind. Not wanting to be in the way of the TRS nor wanting to die. It was silent now other than the few passing moments where the wind would kick up, howling past the buildings and blowing the rubble from the destroyed stairs around. Did she truly deserve to lead a unit? Was she strong? Did she even deserve Kaitlynn? Those were her thoughts at the moment. Not a single bright thought, just dark and gloomy thoughts.
As hunters left to go check into the building and get any wounds they may have suffered in the chase of those damn things, she felt a hand on her shoulder and familiar voice ask if she was okay. Sonya turned her head just enough to glance at the brown haired beauty. But her normal stare was not evident. Jealousy could be seen in her eyes as she stared at Kaitlynn. Why was she born to such an utterly disgraceful race. Familiars were strong in their own right yes. But as far as for Sonya. Her familiar powers were utterly useless. A fucking snake she could turn into, and spit poison. What an utter joke, she kept thinking to herself. Her love was damn lucky to be born into a race that had actual powers. Instead of these shit ones.
Her negative thoughts racing through her brain. As she kept staring at Kaitlynn. Before shrugging her hand off her shoulder. And taking a step forward to put distance between them. As the wind howled one more cutting the silence between the two. "I think I am going to resign as Lt." she said with a faint smile on her lips. "I'm not strong enough to call myself a leader. Nor do I have the leadership skills you possess." she scoffed only making her mind worsen with each word she spout out.
"It's not fair." she said after a moment. "Why was I born such a damn disgrace." she said to herself as she finally turned to face Kaitlynn. Her eyes in pain from the utter disgrace of being injured by a brute that snuck up on her. What right does she have to tell people they are weak and beat them up when she gets snuck up upon by damn brute. It was so frustrating. Especially not having strong powers. "I hate it. I'm fucking weak. I can do the things you can or others. All I have is my speed and strength of a normal human. Im so god damn useless." she added as her hand that wasn't in the sling tightened into a ball. The pain in her eyes growing more and more visible. This wasn't steaming from the defeat she suffered. It was the realization of her limits.
There was a worry expression evident on Kaitlynn's face as the distance between herself and Sonya was closed. Ahead, scouts picked the battlefield, finding the living to drag them inside for treatment or to become a chosen magic-based healing over to save their lives. Evidence if struggle littered the area, from blood to the damaged bodies of the unfortunate souls who perished. Hunters filed in, the hardened maintaining a facade of no concern as they returned to their positions. Some attempted to avoid breaking down, the sorrow from fallen comrades or friends obvious on their crestfallen expressions. Rubble was scattered throughout the field, scouts carefully stepping over to assist in locating those who remained alive, albeit, injured. The angel took a few tentative steps forward, although, remained near Sonya as her purple eyes scanned the field.
Once the sergeant felt the familiar shake her hand off, she raised a brow at the peculiar action her girlfriend did. Had she angered the exotic woman by forcing her to sit down and heal? The aggravation of her lover refusing medical treatment resulted in Kaitlynn's actions, especially considering she refused to lose her beloved Sonya. When the familiar proceeded to speak, the angel froze, her eyes lifting to stare directly at her lieutenant. The words she stated infuriated Kaitlynn considering Sonya's strict nature was the reason the hunters of unit 2 grew strong enough to survive these obstacles. While the angel possessed the skill to converse with families and calm a panicked crowd, Sonya held the fiery attitude which could make cowards continue to fight against the odds. When Sonya finished, the brunette's hands settled on her hips for a few moments, her expression making it evident she disliked the manner which the exotic woman depreciated herself.
"If you think like that, I would have to resign too," Kaitlynn began before her body language shifted to more relaxed. "Listen, my dear, you're nowhere near being called a disgrace because you're the reason our unit can be a strong force to be reckoned with! Everybody here, you've trained until they started bleeding and told them to keep pushing afterwards! As for weak, not even close! You came out here and fought off those terrors and kept going through some shattered bones! I should never do that since I don't have near the endurance or durability to handle it."
The beginning the simple as the brunette closed the distance in hopes of softly wrapping her arms around her precious Sonya who appeared to be having a bad evening now. There was a single objective in Kaitlynn's mind, which was to lift the exotic woman out of this stupor.
"You've got the guts for this, lieutenant. That bravery and fire is what keeps us all going because you're willing to be out there and fight despite what your powers say. At the end of the day, who gives a fuck about how powers and whatnot if they can hold their own! You do it every single battle. Besides, if you hadn't stepped in, I could have been clawed by those vicious cats. If you did not command people into their positions, those terrors could have gotten in and killed all those citizens," the angel stated.
While Kaitlynn believed she had the situation handled with the mutants, the procedure of defeating the trio would remain difficult. In that instant, everything depended on the unpredictable moves of her opponents and whether they were wary or willing to viciously attack without forethought. The familiar had saved her, and managed to allow many people to survive despite her powers not necessarily catering to fighting; Sonya was brave and definitely a force to not be taken lightly.

Sonya looked at Kaitlynn as she talked. Stepping closer and closer to the blue skinned woman. She desperately wanted her stop her parade of compliments. She didn't deserve them. Nor was their praise for her actions until now. Sonya only knew one thing before she joined the TRS. It was fighting. Either with people for food, or for survival. That is the one thing she knew. Most likely why her unit was so strong. She trained them herself. Installing no fear into them. The only thing she cared about was fighting until their last breath. But she was no ruthless leader. She cared for her unit, even if she didn't show it. Maybe that was why she was so ashamed right now. She didn't want anyone from the unit to see how weak she really was because she had the reputation of being such a force. When in reality she probably trains and forces herself beyond her limits just to keep up with everyone else.
Her mind was interrupted when Kaitlynn wrapped her arms around her waist. As Sonya's cloudy eyes awoken from her thought process to see the angel. As she looked at her as she explained further hamming the point into Sonya's mind that she was by no means weak. But she was ability wise. She couldn't even use a barrier for her own lover. At least not well. As she kept talking Sonya just looked at Kaitlynn until she finished. Maybe she was right. Sonya worked harder than anyone else in the unit to stay in condition. Maybe that's why so many people followed her. And why unit two is such a force. Maybe TRS' best unit for handling the fights.
Sonya reached her hand up to Kaitlynn's face and brushed some hair behind her ears. "You know, when you swear it pretty sexy because you don't do it often." she said teasing a little bit as she smiled. As she leaned down and kissed Kaitlynn. Wrapping her free arm behind Kaitlynn's back and bringing her closer as she continued their kiss.
She finally released her lips back to their owner as she let go of Kaitlynn. "So anymore thought of moving in with me?" she asked her as Sonya walked back to the steps and sat down. "It is only a one bedroom apartment. So we would have to share a bed. Which I know you'll love. But can you handle me everyday." she chuckled a quick second before holding her side as the pain was still in her rib area.
There were no doubts about Sonya's strength in Kaitlynn's mind, especially considering the woman's impressive physical traits despite any magical abilities based around them. Meanwhile, the angel knew her strengths were built around her capabilities in controlling electricity, the manipulation proving to be a skill she remained adept in. Managing to take a variety of hits or achieve a more physical accomplishment was nearly impossible given her species weaknesses. While not all angels were necessarily dainty, they were not built to take a multitude of hard hits, like her girlfriend had taken when the brute smacked into her. Thus, she despised the notion of Sonya not being strong enough to remain their lieutenant; she proved otherwise every passing day in the brunette's opinion. The exotic woman made it evident she was a force to be reckoned with, from the manner her unit function to her frightful attitude.
Then there was naturally the fighting expertise which initially caught the roughhousing angel's attention. As she pulled Sonya closer, Kaitlynn's brilliant purple eyes fixated on hers. There was hope the clouds in the exotic woman's mind would part to allow for the truth to reign, especially considering the angel believed she deserved every compliment which left her lips. There was the gentle feeling of Sonya's fingers brushing her purple-tipped hair behind her ear, the mere action resulting in a minor heart skip. The teasing caused a brief laugh to escape Kaitlynn's mouth, a grin touching her lips. Finally, she was brought close, feeling the body heat between their intimate closeness as their lips met as though it was mere nature. The softness, passion from the moment drove the angel's heart wild with joy as no thoughts were taken towards potential observers.
There were a few quiet moments, Kaitlynn ignoring any remarks from observers until finally they parted. A broad grin graced Kaitlynn's lips, the slightest hint of pink touching her cheeks. They would be the couple to find an instance to kiss in a location which had been a battlefield a few minutes prior. When the question was asked and Sonya returned to sitting on the steps, the angel followed, sitting down beside her. There was a moment to stretch, the brunette allowed her legs to lay straight across the stairs below, her skin touching the cold tips of the stairs to occasionally breach through her uniform; the cold was chased away by the temperature regulation charm. Another soft laugh left her lips when Sonya spoke about her apartment, informing her of the expected bed sharing and consistent handling of the fiery woman; the angel's laughs ended prematurely when she noticed her partner hold her side.
"I'm pretty sure if I didn't want to see your face every day, I would have said no," Kaitlynn stated before affectionately leaning in to kiss Sonya's cheek. "Honestly, we could look into a small house if we want more space, buuuut, I have been in your apartment enough times to be used to it."
Eventually, Kaitlynn brought her legs up to station her feet on the stair below, arms lazily resting on her upper leg. A momentary glance was provided to the scene, watching as gradually more people were on their feet and casualties were counted; damages appeared rather light. After a few moments, her purple eyes returned to her wounded lover, a small frown crossing her face.
"Maybe we should wait until you are better though. I could move all my stuff myself, but at least if we wait you're all better to enjoy my company," she stated with a smirk. "We could talk about it some more once we get out of here. They're finishing up the ceremony inside, or, the award handed out I suppose. I don't imagine they will take that long."
The angel could guess the "ceremonies" were almost completed, the speeches bound to be reserved for a later date should they truly desire to listen to the monotonous voice proceed. Once the hunters were organized and escorts were created to guide everybody safely to their homes, the angel assumed they would be free to leave; at least she imagined her lover could depart to rest.

Sonya glanced at Kaitlynn a bit disapproving. She didn't want to say it out loud or anything but she did want Kaitlynn to move in as fast as possible. It was only natural cause deep down Sonya was in love with the angel. To the point she wanted to just cuddle her all the time. Granted she would never say that or even hint at it. She has to keep that strong mentality even when they were alone... When she said they could talk about this when they get out of here, Sonya just nodded. As she looked at the steps that she crashed into and just tsk'd. As she looked down at herself. Looking at the jacket that she had put around her shoulders. "Huh looks like I'll need another jacket again." she said as the uniform had holes and rips everywhere in it. Not to mention a whole lot of blood that had splattered on her, along with some of her own from when she was coughing up some blood.
As the ceremony started to end and families were given their escorts to get home safely, Sonya sighed a bit. "Finally over." she said as they were just inside the hall watching the last of the families leave. "I need a beer." she said as she looked around at the men and women that successfully defended this place. Then looked at all the injuries they had sustained.
Sonya clanked her sword on the ground to get everyone's attention. "Good job everyone, not a single death. That is all I care about it when comes to this shit. I don't care about rules or regulations when we are in war. What matters to me is none of you die." she yelled out into the empty hall that was only filled with her unit. "Now go get some rest. Party what ever you fuckers do. You all have the tomorrow off. But after that it is back to work. Don't think cause you're hurt I'm going soft on you bunch of bitches. Now go home." she ended as all the men and women saluted before breaking their professionalism and started to talk, swear, and just be themselves as they started to trickle out of the doors.
Sonya walked up to Kaitlynn and sighed before leaning on her a bit. "I'm starving. Lets go to get something to eat and drink. Mostly drink to make this pain go away." she said with a bit of smirk looking at her.
There was little need to rush moving in Kaitlynn’s mind considering the angel would be gifted with immortality which would affect Sonya because of their contract. Magic would result in their binding together forever, Kaitlynn believing if the exotic woman desired a break in their contract, she would have already accomplished it. They were always a team, thus a contract manifesting between them sounded expected. The brunette’s purple eyes glanced towards Sonya, noticing the hints of disapproval in her eyes. Witnessing the emotion was sorrowful, however, Kaitlynn would require time to pack her belongings in boxes. Furthermore, Sonya’s injuries made her hesitant in hurrying the process; she wanted to avoid stressing her lover. Time together would only be endless if they did not lose precious seconds to the hospital for wounds or trapped in the depths of a grave.
Since the beginning of her love for Sonya, Kaitlynn found herself perpetually worrying about the lieutenant, both mentally and physically. Thus, she refused to risk manifesting stress or moving items while the exotic woman was in her wounded state; knowing Sonya, she would attempt to assist despite her horrendous injuries. The statement towards the familiar's ruined jacket resulted in a quiet laugh escaping Kaitlynn's lips. There were times the angel felt new uniforms were handed out weekly because of damage being done on the field; new clothing was an inevitability.
"That seems to happen a lot, dear," Kaitlynn commented, a slight teasing nature to her tone.
Gradually, the families were being led from city hall, carefully surrounded by TRS escorts to avoid injury. There were some individuals who still appeared rattled, remaining close to their family members with a slight tremble to their steps. The dangerous reality of this war was something everybody would have to face, no matter their age. For a few moments, the angel's eyes remained locked on the citizen's escort from the scene before returning to Sonya. The mere mention of alcohol resulted in Kaitlynn providing a nod in response; she could use a drink to unwind after this high-stress situation. There was a sharp clank of metal against stone, resulting in the sergeant's attention remaining completely on Sonya as she provided the appraisals to the hardworking members of the unit. They deserved it for their efforts, and Kaitlynn stood tall and stiff as she listened, remaining in a professional stance beside Sonya.
Finally, as the remaining members left for the evening, the beautiful, exotic woman approached her, leaning on her slightly. A broad grin crawled onto Kaitlynn's face at the notion of drinking and something to eat. Extensive use of her electricity manipulation always left pangs of hunger in the angel's stomach; she found it difficult to lose her appetite after a fight.
"Yes, let's," she agreed cheerfully. "The Golden Crown like always, or should we see if there is something closer?"
Anywhere would be adequate for food consumption and indulgence in alcoholic beverages; as long as the establishment was not absolutely filthy. There was a mild ache of hunger in Kaitlynn's belly, her body already demanding food after using her electricity manipulation for the near entirety of her fighting; especially against the brute which she fried.

Sonya looked at Kaitlynn when she said the Golden Crown. It was their spot after all, it wasn't too far from either of their places and it was just a good bar. Sonya nodded a tiny bit agreeing. Some place closer would be nice, but knowing the blue skin women, she was try to get plastered to counter act the damn pain she was still feeling. After a bit of waiting for the rest of their squad to leave the building Sonya and Kaitlynn left. Sonya had the habit of being the last to leave to make sure everyone leaves without a problem. This mostly came from the battlefield, making sure her squad retreats without any problem arising. So she just extends the habit even in the city for events where her squad was tasked to guard duty.
After waiting a bit, a taxi showed up. Sonya be damned if she was walking all the way to the Golden Crown with chest hurting so much. As she let Kaitlynn funnel into the back of the car, then herself as she told the driver where to go. "Well that boring assembly turned out fun." she said as the taxi took off.
Soon, after about fifteen to twenty minuet ride, they showed up in front of the Golden Crown as they got out, Sonya handing some money to the taxi driver before he took off to most likely pick more people up. As she kicked the door in and walked into the bar. "Oi Ricky, a full bottle of vodka and two shot glasses. And glass of whisky on the rocks, any kind." she yelled out to the bartender who almost looked scared of Sonya's when she yelled out to him. Which he shouldn't be cause he has known her for almost a year now. And Kaitlynn and her go drinking often.
As Sonya climbed into one of the chairs at the end of the bar, their spot per say considering the end of the bar was the best spot, not having to deal with other people. As the bottle of vodka was put in front of them with two shot glasses and the glass of whisky, and what ever Kaitlynn ordered for herself. As she popped the top off the vodka and poured two shots. "To fucking up terrors." she said and she clanked her glass against Kaitlynn, slammed it on the bar then took the shot. As she swallowed the toxic liquid she just made a bleh sound, vodka was never good tasting but taking shots was the quickest way to get hammered. As she washed the awful taste away with the good stuff.
Drinks after a rigorous battle against the Assembly of Phantoms felt like a tradition to Sonya and Kaitlynn, the angel smiling broadly at the prospect. There was always something relaxing about spending extensive periods of time at the bar, enjoying a few rounds of alcohol before hailing a cab and crashing in bed. Those instances was when everything felt alright, the horrible happenings worldwide being forgotten briefly for some reckless fun. Other hunters cleared from the area, the brunette patiently waiting beside her girlfriend while everybody else vacated the premises, heading for the warm comfort of their homes. There were a few farewells before everybody cleared from city hall, prepared to return to their personal lives. Finally, the last members of unit 2 vacated the area, leaving herself and Sonya alone in front of the damaged area.
There was a brief wait after a taxi was dialed and requested, the vehicle eventually driving up to the curb's edge to pick up the pair of women. Under most circumstances, Kaitlynn would walk with Sonya to the coastal area, however, with her beloved injured, a drive became preferred. Once the taxi parked, the pair smoothly answered, the exotic woman providing the driver with directions before they settled in the back seat. A soft laugh escaped the angel's lips at the familiar's remark, a smile settling onto her face.
"I guess you could say that. The speaker this year had such a boring voice. I swear I saw a few people sleeping in that crowd," Kaitlynn stated, smirking.
Escaping the boring hum of the graduation ceremony felt rewarding, especially considering the slow progression of handing out student diplomas and congratulations; there was hope the following year would prove to be better. The fifteen-minute drive brought them to the front door of the Golden Crown, a beautiful and well-known bar in Lorsette. There was a smile on the brunette's face as she exited the taxi, listening to the wheels turn against the street as they approached the front door. Quietly, the angel followed, listening to the loud bang of Sonya kicking the front doors open; it was a miracle she did not break it some days. There was the customary yelling of the bartender's name, the exotic woman automatically making their requests while the pair walked towards their favoured seats.
Once comfortable in her seat, Kaitlynn patiently waited for the drinks, the bartender knowing their faces and quickly providing Sonya's requests alongside the angel's usual; a rum and coke. The pure shot of vodka brought a smile to the brunette's face as she smiled widely at the exotic woman's toast.
"Hell yeah!" Kaitlynn shouted before clinking the shot glasses together.
Afterwards, the vodka was drank in a single large gulp, entering the angel's mouth only for a brief moment before being swallowed. The taste never bothered her, however, Kaitlynn wished to avoid disturbing her precious girlfriend with the taste she disliked. Once the shot was finished, the sergeant sipped on her own drink, a small smile remaining on her face.

❧
Sonya poured another shot glass full of the toxic liquid as she handed another shot to her lovely angel. It was time to relax and get drunk after what they went through. More so for Sonya because of the shear pain she was still in. She brought the shot glass up to her lips and chugged the shot. As she slid the glass back onto the bar she grabbed the glass of whisky and took a sip of that to wash the hand sanitizer taste out of her mouth from the vodka.
Sonya sat there drinking away, trying to get drunk to make the pain go away and celebrate a great night. After all she did ask Kaitlynn to move in with her. Which was a big step for Sonya considering she rarely expresses her feelings. But she thought she better do it now, or she might loose the only person she will ever love. Plus she will get to cuddle Kaitlynn whenever now without having to come up with an excuse to go see her... But there is a downside. The endless teasing that will come with the angel moving in. That was the one thing she was not looking forward to.
"You know I hate those damn ceremonies. Little punks thinking they hot shit cause they were accepted." she said, the alcohol finally settling into her stomach and effecting her thoughts. "Like thank god I didn't choose one of those piss ants that graduated. When I announced terrors were coming some looked damn pale." she continued spouting off mostly nonsense but it held truth, if they were going to be scared of some damn terrors, there was no place for them in her unit.
"I swear they get weaker and weaker each year. Thankfully I hand pick who joins us. Fuck all them wimpy bitches who think they can fight but can't what so ever." she finally concluding her thoughts out loud before pouring another shot and taking it. It was only a matter of time before she is plastered. Especially since they didn't have any dinner or anything so the booze had nothing to absorb into. It would go through her system fast...hence her complaints right now.
Discovering comfort amidst the pleasant scenes of the Golden Crown was easily accomplished by Kaitlynn as she remained settled on the stool, joining her beloved familiar for shots. A clink rang through the angel's ears as her shot glass hit the counter, preparing for another shot of the clear alcohol. The liquid was poured into the small cup, the brunette grinning giddily as she gained excitement over the intoxicating effects. These moments would allow an instant of forgetting the pressure of being a high ranking officer in the TRS. Once her cup was filled, Kaitlynn leaned her head back, bringing the cool glass to her plush lips to swallow the contents in a single gulp. Similarly to the first shot, the angel spent little time admiring the taste of vodka due to her knowledge of Sonya's hatred of alcohol.
The second sip of her favoured alcoholic beverage was taken, Kaitlynn desiring to cleanse her mouth of the vodka, although, it was primarily for her girlfriend's sake. The subtle clinking of ice inside her cup managed to reach her ears through the noise, the angel staring down at the floating cubes as she listened to her lieutenant. A nod of acknowledgement was provided, the sergeant feeling similar about the boredom-inducing ceremonies despite her enjoyment of learning the new members of the TRS.
"Honestly, if they had a better speaker, I couldn't care less about the kids. They will learn this job isn't all sunshine and rainbows," Kaitlynn mumbled. "Heroes don't survive every fight and they 'ought to learn practice is what really makes a TRS agent survive."
There was a pause when Sonya mentioned not picking any of the former apprentices from the new haul alongside the comments of them merely getting weaker. Finally, a soft sigh escaped the angel's lips as she brought her drink to her lips for another sip. While strength was important, newer TRS members would never improve unless given a chance of training with the strong hunters of unit two. They could not keep their gates locked forever, or else unit two would deteriorate and become a mere skeleton army rather than a forceful unit.
"I don't think we should keep denying access to unit 2... I'm starting to think we should consider having a boot camp for even the apprentices who show more potential... If we can make 'em a strong member of the unit, then we have a lot to gain from it," Kaitlynn advised before providing a broad smile. "Besides, gives me an excuse to get some roughhousing done. Imagine their faces when an angel kicks their ass!
Despite the lack of substance in Kaitlynn's stomach, she managed to stay composed. The angel was a reserved drinker, slowly sipping away at her current toxic beverage, although, there was a fogginess breaching her thoughts. Her composure was bound to break as the evening proceeded.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

Sonya looklled at her love as she spoke. She had some good thoughts. But the thing was, Sonya doesn't trust anyone that doesn't have the power to cover her six in a fight. That was like the only condition other than not fearing death. Or at least not being afraid and loosing your cool. It was odd now being the Lt. Having to listen to orders straight from Jester. Instead of choosing to ignore them like she did was she was a lower rank. But now she is responsible for everyone in her unit. They were her family.
She took another sip from the whiskey as she looked at Kaitlynn. "Yea but you know me. If they shit their pants just by seeing a terror. I don't want them. I want everyone in the unit to be able to have trust in each other when shit hits the ceiling." she stated twirling the glass in a circle watching the ice hit the sides of the glass. "You should know that. I've been that way since we have met." she paused as she looked back at her. "That is why I can always fight all out cause I know you got my back babe." she added with a hint of blushing on her cheeks from saying the last word. But it was true, knowing someone has your back in a situation can make you fight ten times better. And also why unit 2 barely has casualties when fighting.
She poured another shot for self and took it. Her cheeks beginning to turn red and red by each time she took a shot. The pain from her ribs starting to fade a bit. As she slid the shot glass back on the table. "Enough about work shit. What are we doing with you moving in. I wouldn't mind being soon." she paused as she leaned closer to the angel. "Gives me aaaallll the excuses to put my hands on that amazing body of yours." she whispered as she just smiled smugly.
"PLUS I CAN GET FREE DINNER MADE FOR ME AND WONT HAVE TO GO OUT ALL THE TIME FOR FOOD." she yelled out like that was the most exciting thing about having Kaitlynn move in. Even though she didn't know if she would even do that. But the thought of it made it worth while to be excited for it. She barely has home cooked meals cause she sucks at cooking...her extent of cooking is the microwave. So yea...
Concerns over unit two’s future came naturally to Kaitlynn, especially considering joining the TRS was among her best choices. Never would she thought during her childhood she could be strictly trained into an incredible fighter. Those years of being forced into dresses and lectured on etiquette were a far cry from strapping on gauntlets and controlling the reckless nature of electricity. Evidently, her previous life contrasted against her current, the brunette already capable of imagining the gawking expressions of her disappointed parents should they find her. Acceptance would be nonexistent, any open-mindedness being clouded by their beliefs of the old traditions where women should merely be housewives. Comfort was discovered when she learned entered combat training and later enlisted in the TRS ranks; belonging is what she discovered. Thus, the angel always fretted for the well-being of the unit which could accept her reckless behaviour.
Carefully, the cold glass cup was raised to her lips, the sergeant taking a drink of her rum and coke as she listened to Sonya's reasoning. A gentle sigh proceeded, Kaitlynn knowing thoroughly trust was necessary for their survival under the tense circumstances of a terror attack, especially during hordes. Everything became chaotic from the massive influx of terrors, the requirement to eradicate the dangerous creatures outweighing the need to stick together. Reliance on your fellow hunters alongside some quick thinking was truly the only way to escape the clutches of death in those frightening moments. Hunters needed to smoothly work in tandem, defending and fighting off the threats. A soft sigh escaped her lips as her glasses clinked quietly against the counter. Constantly, the angel would fret about the condition of the unit which provided her endless enjoyment and opportunities to be who she desired.
“I know… I wish we could beat some sense into them sometimes. Especially the ones who get scared and only get in the way,” Kaitlynn responded quietly. “At least the ones we do get aren’t bad.”
Gently, Kaitlynn’s hand maintained a grip on the glass which held the precious intoxicating liquid. The more she swallowed, the quicker the brunette would be placed into a state of haze. Thoughts of potentially reaching intoxication quicker were pleasant, thus the sergeant lifted her glass, quickly draining the contents before waving at the bartender for a refill. Momentarily, Kaitlynn pushed the glass closer to the bartender, the man quickly pouring a shot in.
“Make it a double,” Kaitlynn stated, which resulted in a pause before the second shot of rum was poured in.
Afterwards arrived the fizzle of coke, the dark soda being poured in until the glass was filled, then the beverage was returned. Once returned, Kaitlynn took a sip from the fresh glass, small and quickly down her throat. Promptly, Sonya started the discussion about work was finished, the exotic woman deciding to focus on their new adventure. A broad smile touched Kaitlynn’s lips as she spared a glance at her lover. There was a red hue on her cheeks, but it went unnoticed by the angel as her thoughts slowly started getting clouded by alcohol. The size of the brunette's grin increased when the exotic girl mentioned being handsy with her, a soft giggle leaving her mouth. Another sip of her alcoholic beverage was taken before the glass was settled onto the counter.
"I think I'm going to like that very much," Kaitlynn responded in a soft, flirtatious voice. "Plus, I get to return the favour whenever, right honey?"
Laughter escaped Kaitlynn's mouth when Sonya gleefully rejoiced over having somebody to cook meals opposed to relying on herself. The laughter was prolonged for the angel as intoxication infected her mind, making her mind dulled and freeing her from the serious weight of life. These were the few moments the brunette could become fully careless and relax completely without the fretting thoughts of what will occur in the TRS.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

Sonya drank more and more of the alcohol in front of her. Her mind was just being relaxed by the toxins entering body. Normally she was all tense and bloody angry all the time but not that the poisoning toxins lifted that persona of hers, she was slouching back in the chair and just smiling a tiny bit. Not her usual bitch face. Which she thought was kinda funny how anything that could harm her be effecting her this much. She could make literal poison. Yet she could be effected by alcohol. It didn't make any sense or how she understood that but fuck it. Until Kiatlynn responded to her previous comment about being all handsy when she moves in. As Kaitlynn just looked away.
"Shhhh. Only I get to be handsy cause like you might get hurt if I get angry with you being all over me and what if like i accidentally punch or something." she paused as she took another sip of her drink. "So your hands are not permitted on this body in my house." she said as he didn't look at her love. If she did her face would turn all red and she didn't need that right now. Especiallywith so many people around to see. She has a reputation to uphold being a hardass. Plus the reason she just gave was udder garbage. And Kaitlynn knew it probably. Like how is that a good reason for her not to be handsy with the exotic woman. She has been for years what would stop her now.
Sonya just looked at her glass before taking another sip. As there was no pain in her arm anymore as the alcohol was most definitely doing it's job. As she looked down at the arm in question. As she adjusted the sling it was in. "But I can't be all handsy until this stupid arm is fixed." she said as her expression turned a bit dark. "I should have seen that giant thing coming for me but thankfully it came after me." As she rested her good arm on the bar and planted her chin on her palm and looked around the bar that was filled with mostly citizens but a couple TRS soldiers. "But I am glad no one got killed or too injured." she finished her sentence.
Kaitlynn was THE only one that was able to see this side of Sonya. The side that actually cares for her unit. That wants to make sure they get home safe to their loved one so they are not left alone like she was so long ago. As Sonya relaxed looking at a group of soldiers joking around, drinking, playing some darts. Sonya was usually so hard on everyone, even time to time hard on Kaitlynn. But that is cause she cares too much. She grew up all alone, with no family or friends. So getting the kids back to their parents, husbands or wives back to their significant other, parents back to kids. That is why she trained her unit so hard. To be prepared for anything. It is always why she goes into combat ready to give her life for anyone of those looser in her unit so they can return to those loved ones. As she took another sip as just focused back on Kaitlynn with a soft smile.
Alcohol settled the nerves once the liquid poison seeped into the bloodstream and intoxicated the brain. Worries disappeared, a calming cradle of fuzzy thinking enveloping the individual. A sloppy smile twitched on Kaitlynn's lips, semi-weary because of intoxication and recent fighting efforts. The intoxicated grin remained as another swig of the soda and alcohol brew touched her lips and bubbled over her tongue. Condensation moistened her bottom lips, ice cubes quietly clinking as she tasted her favoured drink. Giddy laughs escaped her lips, Kaitlynn hunching over the table as the glass returned to its station. An elbow was propped onto the counter, cheek placed into her hand while her purple eyes admired Sonya. The exotic woman always caught Kaitlynn's eye, her figure, unique skin colour and gorgeous long hair being merely the stepping stones for why she found her attractive.
There was a fiery spark in the snake-like woman which caught Kaitlynn's attention quickly. A broad grin remained on the sergeant's lips as she giggled at Sonya's comment about her not being handsy because of danger. Mischief crawled onto the angel's face, her eyes narrowing slightly as her lips curled into a wider grin.
"Hmm, may still have to risk it," she stated with a smirk. "I doooooo love my strong girlfriend."
The words were quiet, a slight tone of attempted seductiveness coating them where possible; a drunken Kaitlynn was never particularly godly with her flirting. Furthermore, the influences of intoxication made clear thinking impossible, especially as more alcohol entered her siblings. Whenever the glass began drying up, the angel signaled the barkeep with a waving hand and the pleasant fizzle of soda mixing with alcohol would fill her ears. Reputations hardly mattered to Kaitynn, her strong, independent attitude alongside her enjoyment of roughhousing usually getting the message across to those who challenged her. Reckless, the word which described her frequently because of her over-protective attitude. She would rather receive injury than allow another teammate to possibly be wounded. Her gaze locked onto Sonya's wounded arm when she mentioned not being as handsy.
"Oh honey, I would gladly make up for that," she murmured to attempt to lighten the mood.
Darkness invaded their conversation as a serious tone drifted over their side of the main counter. People played darts, happily laughing as they enjoyed their beer and participated in games. The clacks of pool balls rolling across a table were background noise as Kaitlynn listened to Sonya's words. A soft sigh escaped Kaitlynn's lips as she resigned herself to silence and instead took another swig of alcohol. Sometimes even she was clueless about what to say when faced with the grim reality of their battles. Not all of them proceeded cleanly after all, even with all their training and capability.

Sonya finished the rest of the intoxicating liquid before sliding the glass on the slick wooden bar. As she looked over at Kaitlynn and saw that what she had said made her quiet. As she sighed to herself. She then coughed really loudly to distract her before giving her smile. "What is it you usually say whenever im hurt or something..." she trailed off before looking at her. "oh that's right. You tease." she said as she grabbed Kaitlynn's chair and moved it closer to hers before giving her a devilish smile. As a new glass was put in front of her from the bartender. As she handed him a plastic card. "Pay the tab for both of us." she said while not breaking eye contact with Kaitlynn.
As the bartender went to pay the tab, Sonya leaned in and whispered into Kaitlynn's ear. "What do you say we get out of here and go back to my place." she said as she stood up, and chugged the whole glass of liquor before walking to the bartender and taking her card back. As she was walking out, he threw her coat over her shoulders.
As she stepped outside, the cooler night breeze hit her face, cooling her down pretty quickly. As she waited for Kaitlynn. She thought this might work to lighten up the mood. As she took out a pack of toothpicks from her pocket and opened it, taking on out and putting it in her mouth. She used to smoke before joining, but quit. She only has the urge to when she drinks. But using a toothpick to at least take the edge off helps. As she took her good hand and brushed all of her hair out of the way as she waited.
